We chose this cruise to get far away from the winter cold and because Baltimore is within a reasonable drive from our house. The small size of the ship helped establish a good rapport with the crew and other cruisers My wife and I both enjoyed this cruise very much. The ship appeared to be in great shape for its age and the crew kept it very clean. The staff were polite and very helpful with any ...
I have been cruising Grandeur since 2/14 (11 cruises). I have to say the Windjammer has improved greatly. The variety and quality of food is impressive. Every day for lunch and dinner there is a different theme besides the old American standards. There have been crepe stations, taco stations, Indian food, specialty desert station with bread pudding, rice pudding, banana foster and different ...
This was a group trip. Grandeur needs a major over-all. Noticed seats in the theater were thread bear. . The cabin stewart we had was great, always had a clean room twice a day with towel animals on the bed, several times durn cruise. The staff in the dinning room went out their way . The food for the most part was good. However there were nights that we had trouble deciding what to get. The meals ...
WE chose this cruise because of the convenience of the port and also for the price and itinerary. We went to the Southern Caribbean which was wonderful. There could have been less sea days but we still had fun while we were at sea.
Dinner in the main dining room was fabulous. Our waiter Desmond and Assistant Waiter Yogi were the best. I think Yogi got promoted to Waiter the day that we ...
This was our 8th year doing winter cruises out of Baltimore, the last several years on the Grandeur of the Sea, now no longer so grand. it is an older ship, 26 years, and Royal Caribbean does not seem to want to put much effort into it. Every year the evidence of cost cutting becomes more and more obvious. On the positive side, the staff has always been top notch, friendly and helpful across ...
My wife and I chose this cruise for the convenience of the port (Baltimore), the timing, and the price. This was our third cruise on Grandeur in 9 years, all from Chesapeake bay ports (Norfolk and Baltimore).
Overall we felt at home on board. We had My Time dining with Francisco and George as our waiters. They did a great job. James was our cabin attendant and kept the cabin in good ...
The pressure to "spend more" on this or that was all encompassing. Embarkation and disembarkation went fairly smoothly. Our cabin steward Irwan Sanusio was outstanding as were our usual dining room waiters, Joseph and Rian. Shows were entertaining, food was excellent, although there were not a lot of restaurants. Dining hours were somewhat challenging. Late-night dining options were particularly ...
The Grandeur of the Seas is a nice ship. Not a great ship. Well, it’s 20 years old. And though there have been updates, its showing its age. Although not a major distraction, I did note a large rust stain in my cabin window. It just shows the age of the ship, I guess. The toilets on the Grandeur work on a vacuum system. We noted that our toilet would sometimes not respond when flusher. ...
Picked this cruise because of the Itinerary. It would have been nice if we hadn't missed the tender stop at Coco Cay ( I later found out they this ship missed thie stop more times than it makes it. I spoke to one lady at lunch that said this was her 5th cruise on the Grandeur and it had never stopped at Coco Cay!)
Also, we booked an excursion on a glass bottom boat but it was cancelled. We ...
To say this ship was a huge disappointment is an understatement. First I will start with the pros as there were a few. Chelsea O' Toole at the spa was amazing. Super sweet and went out of her way to help us relax. Next was our awesome stateroom attendant, Remmy. He was incredibly attentive to every detail and did whatever it took to put a smile on my daughter's face. Finally, Chops was an amazing ...
