Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

This cruise was intriguing to us because of the stops, it wasn't the standard Caribbean islands. Port Canaveral is great if you have kids because you can take a shuttle to Disney/Universal studios. The RCCL private island in the Bahamas Coco Cay is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It's much like their area in Labadee but with a distinctive Bahamian feel. We got a cabana in the private club and had the most ...

After reading some Doom and Gloom reports about this ship, we left home with some feelings of trepidation only to find the cruise exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, everything went smoothly. Flights with British Airways on time, met by Royal Rep. in Baltimore for the transfer to the magnificent Renaissance Harbour Hotel - a mere 15 mins. away. Next morning taken to the ship and ...

First let me explain that I don't care much for all the bells and whistles a ship has to offer. What I do care about is customer service, cleanliness and the overall, general experience. Prior to booking our cruise, I did a lot of research before booking our trip and I decided that we just couldn't beat the price, especially since we could drive to the port and save on the cost of airfare for 4. ...

We got on the ship easily but had to wait in a crowd for the lunch in the Windjammer to open. This was not a good first impression, as it would have been better to have us wait where we could sit, back at check-in.. And a note about getting onboard--you walk up a number of inclines to get inside the ship on Deck 4.. Anyone with mobility problems or who gets short of breath will have a hard time. ...

Love to cruise this was to be our 12th. cruise (not all with Royal Caribbean) and we were excited. met a lot of wonderful people and the crew did all they could to make everyone happy on this aging ship. ship had had been updated and several noted changes were done in poor taste. Namely the sink in the individual cabins. The new sinks that were installed were what I would call cereal bowl sinks. ...

This was my 6th cruise (4th on RCCL), my husband's 4th (3rd on RCCL), and our 17 month old son's first! We brought the entire family; both sets of parents and my 2 sisters-in-law along with one of their friends. After seeing some of the poor reviews about Grandeur, we were a little nervous about this trip beforehand considering it has been 6 years since my family had last been on board this ship. ...

We live within 90 minutes of Baltimore and the thought of flying our 3 year old daughter and 9 month old son somewhere to get on a ship seemed a fruitless exercise of spending lots of extra money to lug around massive amounts of luggage. I just wish RCL and Carnival would put more than just one of their older/smaller ships out of Baltimore to increase options. I understand the business decision ...

Just disembarked from the Granduer this AM. This is the oldest and smallest ship in the RCCL fleet but it has a lot of character! Does it need some work...yes, but that doesn't mean it's not a great ship. The interior cabin was a tad small but it sufficed. Didn't like the shower curtain but hopefully this will change with the upcoming redo. The Centrum is a nice meeting place but I miss the ...

Ok, first I'd like to say for those of you who gave this cruise a 4 or 5, it is either your first & you have nothing to compare it with or you need to give your head a shake. This ship is old & tired & it was like a time warp going back 20 years. They had some of the same entertainment we saw 15/20 years ago. Rooms were worn, drawer bracket broke off while opening it. sink was cracked, beds were ...

What can I say … my husband and I love Grandeur of the Seas. It is actually the largest ship we have ever sailed on, but we both think it is the perfect size, even though it is one of the smallest in RCI’s fleet. We like the fact that we can get to know many other cruisers in a short time and come across each other often. We also like that many of the staff know us by name very early on in the ...
