We had been looking forward to the Grand European Tour for over 18 months and the cruise exceeded our expectations. The views along the Danube and Rhine rivers were spectacular. The ports of call and included tours gave us an interesting view into the history and culture of the region. The two day pre-cruise extension in Budapest was perfect. The Hilton Hotel was conveniently located in the Castle ...
Wanted to see more of the world, visit new sites while keeping all of our belongings in one secure place. The idea of a river cruise held great appeal. Freedom to relax on board, a manageable amount of fellow travelers, good food and interesting excursions. The food was fabulous, honoring local cuisine. We would get daily updates from the chef and all meals were uniformly terrific. Kudos to our ...
Originally we chose this cruise to celebrate 5 of us turning 70. But because it had to be pushed to the next year we were able to celebrate two couples 50th wedding anniversary and one friends birthday. 4 of us have been friends since H.S. and we were in each other weddings making this a very special celebration.
Viking does an AWESOME job helping celebrating events.

Our good friends invited us to join them on this cruise to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. At the time of the invitation, we were unable to commit to the trip, so we had to decline. Several months later, we discovered that we would be able to go on the trip, but we decided to keep our decision a secret and surprise our friends.
This was a trip we had dreamed about for years. When ...
This particular cruise was one we had been wanting to take for about ten years, and when the chance came to book the cruise as a surprise to two friends who would be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on the cruise, we jumped at the chance.

Had planned for the cruise twice with it being canceled due to Covid. The staff was amazing as well as the itineraries. The cruise director (Anthony) was amazing and made sure everyone was having a good time. He saw to it, that everyone was accounted for before leaving the ship and returning to the ship. The tour guides were very well educated and personable. The optional tours were great as well. ...
Although we had some (weather related) hiccups on the cruise, none were the fault of Viking. Viking did everything they could to make the cruise as enjoyable as possible for the guests. The six of us who traveled together were extremely pleased with Viking and our Grand European Tour from Budapest to Amsterdam. Each of us wholeheartedly give Viking 5 stars and an A+++++ rating.

We chose this cruise because we had never taken a River cruise. We were happy because of the fewer cruisers and the fact that we didn’t constantly have a camera in our face or someone trying to sell us jewelry or art. The staff and cruise director were fantastic. We liked the included guided daily tours and the fact that there were tours for those who wanted to take their time to walk slowly. ...
The itinerary was one we wanted. The rooms were very comfortable. The staff was fantastic. The Excursions were informative and lead by learned guides. All of our time spent on board were the best times on any cruise we have taken due to the care given by the staff and crew.
We have already booked another Viking cruise and have spoken to friends who will cruise with us.

Had not been in these areas of Europe previously. Had heard nothing but raves about this one. This trip was incredibly well organized! Three days prior to boarding in Prague was the way to go!
Great food, lots of options awesome service.
Excursions were well done with several group “speeds”. While we were go-getters others needed to go in the moderate pace group.
Evening boat meetings ...
