Less than what I read about

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Skadi

A big problem is low water levels which isn't in Vikings control, but the choices they made didn't make for the best vacation. Late buses, locked bus bathrooms, ugly docking area, and no show shuttle to name a few. Add to that an assistant that lack awareness of senior pacing which is important since that is your cruisers, turn around and look lady, I shouldn't have to chase after her because ...

Ours was one of many river cruises affected by low water levels on more than one river, but we'd live in Germany during a drought year back in the 70s so weren't concerned. Leaving Amsterdam a day later than originally scheduled gave us another day on our own (Heavy rain would have made tulips + windmills most unpleasant.) and we had one well-organized and well-predicted ship-swap. The ...

We commenced what was supposed to be our Viking Grand European river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam with a Prague extension on 08/08/18. 3 days prior to the cruise departure from Budapest on 11/08/18, Viking emailed us advising that our planned overnight stay and sail away from Budapest as per the planned itinerary was changed due to low river levels. This was the start of our river cruise ...

I chose this cruise because of its itinerary. From Budapest to Amsterdam along the Danube, Mein and Rhine rivers was a truly incredible journey. So much history and art. The acommodations were like a 5 star hotel and the food was excellent. The program director was tailor made for the job. He was a treat. Looking forward to my next cruise with Viking! The excursions that Viking has lined ...

This cruise was highly recommended by our trusted AMA travel agent. My husband and I were not disappointed! From the moment our plane landed in Amsterdam we were treated to Viking’s amazing hospitality and friendly professionalism. The ship’s design was beautiful and exceptionally clean. Stunning river views were maximized throughout. We booked one of the two Explorer Suites which provided ...

I thought it would be an easier way to see so much of Germany and Austria than to haul my suitcase across the countries. The cabin was comfortable, My favorite part of the ship was the lounge. It was a great place to relax with a drink or a cup of tea. I really liked being able to get a specialty coffee for free whenever I wanted and the cookies were nice in the afternoon after running around ...

Friends had taken this cruise a couple years ago and recommended it. We were interested in all the countries and ports in the Grand European Adventure. We spent 2 days exploring Amsterdam prior to the cruise and I would highly recommend it. Viking did everything they could to make the experience enjoyable. Stein, our Program Director, stated on the first day that they strive to Beat your ...

We chose the cruise for our 50th anniversary because of recommendations from friends. Everything ran so smoothly from the wonderful dining to the cabin care to the excursions. The crew went above and beyond to make the trip wonderful. We met several couples the first day who we enjoyed sitting with each evening. The Lounge was a wonderful gathering place. We would go there each evening before ...

I was invited by a friend, so I was going, just to be going somewhere on a vacation! Little did I know how much I would enjoy the trip and the history of the Netherlands and Belgium. The country is beautiful, the history of what these people have done to survive the wars and north sea is a wonderful experience. The people are truly lovely. Local guides, showing and telling us the local history, ...
