Never been on a River cruise. Wanted to explore that part of the world. Food was awesome and so was the staff. Food was a very good variety and had great options for the regular meal options. Included excursions were wonderful. Made several friends and enjoyed the environment. The excursions were set up for comfort and ease for all. Recommend reusable water bottle, no reason to waste plastic. ...
This was our first Viking river cruise, but certainly not our last. As experienced cruisers we had an expectation of what the river cruise would be like, but Viking far surpassed it.
The smaller ship allowed for a more relaxed and congenial relationship between our fellow travelers and ourselves, as well as with the ship's crew.
We had, by far, the very best food experience on this ...
We chose Viking on the recommendation of family and friends who have taken many Viking cruises. They all gave Viking terrific grades on everything from the Tour Director to the Dining & Stateroom staff. They weren't wrong!! The cruise was spectacular and we even had some snow flurries during our visits to the many Christmas markets in Germany, Austria and Hungary which made my wife very happy. ...
The two week Grand European cruise was a great experience. From Amsterdam to Budapest, Biking provided great service both on the boat and on shore. The food and level of service were very good. It was an exceptional value that included my flight.
Our stateroom was small but sufficient for the trip. There was really no room to do anything other than sleep in it.
The common areas were well ...
We did the Grand European Tour from Amsterdam to Budapest. This is our fifth Viking cruise first one on the long ships. The Grand European cruise was our first Viking cruise 12 years ago (Budapest to Amsterdam) and we always wanted to do it again. Prior to our trip we were concerned with the water level situation in Europe but recent rain eliminated all issues and we never had to switch ships. ...
We can’t say enough great things about Viking and this wonderful cruise. From the time we stepped off the plane and embarked the Skadi in Amsterdam to the time we disembarked in Budapest, everything was top notch. All the crew was friendly and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. All the tours were extremely informative and fun. I recommend the Cologne Beer Dinner and Culture ...
Viking reputation as #1 is well deserved. They do things right. Friendly and accommodating staff, GREAT cruise director Wesley, made it all very fun. Several servers learned our names and called us by name when they saw us. Front desk staff very helpful. Room purser, Andy, was friendly and efficient. Great guides in the towns except for one. On board entertainment mostly good. The glass blower ...
We were invited to travel with friends on this trip -Budapest to Amsterdam. We did the pretrip and post trip -extension on each ends of the cruise. I highly recommend arriving a few days in advance to enjoy the flavors and beauties of Budapest and stay to enjoy and explore Amsterdam. The Viking staff was excellent and made every part of our journey wonderful. Our Cruise Director - Wes - was over ...
The itinerary was very interesting. We loved the small German towns where we could walk around. We did a two day pre-trip in Budapest through Viking where we stayed at the Hilton. Viking had representation at the Hilton to help us navigate around. We did every included walking tour. Loved mingling with other guests. Did optional
Vienna concert which was too hot and too crowded.also did optional ...
After COVID-19 we wanted to take a cruise but not on a high capacity cruise ship. This river cruise made us fall in love with this type of cruising. We are totally hooked now and already looking at future river cruises with Viking.
The ship itself was so well laid-out and immaculate. The Sun Deck and Aquavit were both so much fun to relax. The two self-serve coffee stations always had ...
