We've sailed on Princess five times and we wanted to give Royal Caribbean (RC) a try. This was a 4-night cruise out of genteel Galveston to Cozumel only. Before the cruise we stayed one night at the charming Tremont House Hotel and parked the car at their luxurious sister hotel, The Galvez. Parking was only $18 total for all five nights, garage parking. The Galvez provided a free shuttle between hotels and to and from the port. Embarkation on the Enchantment was fast and efficient and we were on-board in half an hour at 11 a.m. We had an ocean view room on Deck 3. Room is about the same size as on Princess, but the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. Also, unlike Princess, the 'king size' bed is actually two metal framed cots just pushed together. The metal legs underneath will not allow you to slide your suitcase under the bed. Food in the Windjammer buffet was pretty good, with a large variety of items. However, the offerings didn't change much from day to day; Princess seems to offer new selections daily. The 'Asian Food' section had only Indian dishes which did not change day after day. RC should really call this the 'Indian Food' section, as there was never any Thai or Chinese food items. The Windjammer was always crowded and finding a good seat was sometimes difficult. But the waiters and waitresses were all terrific and always ready to refill your glass with lemonade or a fresh coffee with a smile. They seemed much happier to help than some of the staff on our Princess cruises. Late night snacks at the Park Cafe were limited in choices and there were often 20 or 30 people waiting in line. Some of the tables around the solarium were filled with dirty dishes. We do not fault the overworked staff; this is a RC management problem. The fitness center was first rate with new equipment. The singer in the relaxing Schooner Bar was pretty good. The comedians were just ok. The seats in the main theater were wide and comfortable with a nice drink holder -- very classy. But the live musical "Can't Stop The Rock" is dated and boring. The talented singers and dancers are forced to perform movie tunes that you have never heard of while jumping around what appears to be some old construction scaffolding. Come on RC, after 10 years it's time to update your shows! Disembarkation was slow. One of the three elevators was always out of order and everyone was forced to walk down a flight of stairs and wind around one side of the ship and out to the other side in order to leave. Enchantment was launched in 1997 when Bill Clinton was president. Despite some updates the ship is showing its age. Apparently RC considers Galveston a secondary market and so they have positioned the smaller, rust-stained Enchantment in that lesser port. We plan on a couple of long cruises next year, and wanted to see how Royal Caribbean ("RC") compared to Princess. With a much more comfortable bed, greater food variety, more venues and things to do, we will probably go with Princess. Read Less

We just got back from a 5 day cruise on the Enchantment. It was my husband and I with our 2 kids (9 and 11). We had an overall fun trip. We have cruised a lot in the past but this was our first time with RC. The ship had great customer service. It was clean and well maintained. The buffet was very overcrowded, My kids got run over, we had trouble getting to the food and finding a table. The buffet food was average with little variety. The main dining food was outstanding with a large variety. We had the best waiters we have ever had on a cruise before (Sanjay and Miroslav, table 79). We booked the Galley tour at a discount after boarding. The tour was fun and the bottomless mimosas were nice. The theater shows were entertaining and kids really enjoyed. We usually love going to art auctions but skipped the one on this ship. The auction was kicked out of their normal room and moved to narrow spot by a major walkway with limited seating. The casino was tiny and I have never lost my money quicker. My kids loved the rock climbing/trampoline and there was never a line. They also liked the kids club. Just be aware, the kids club filled up and I did see them turning away kids multiple times. The ship had 3 pools of which we were hardly able to use. The adults only pool was in a very hot enclosed area. The main pool was either too crowded or used for pool games. The kids pool was closed and drained often bc babies kept pooping in it. Our room was 8089, an upgraded ocean view with floor to ceiling windows. It was centrally located close to everything. Our Steward did a great job keeping the room clean and restocked with plush/soft/clean towels. The cabin felt spacious for a cruise ship. The main queen bed was 2 mismatched mattresses pushed together and my husband kept rolling into the middle crack. A sewage smell was coming from the bath floor drains the entire trip. Our bedding smelled like sewage. We complained and they quickly changed out the bedding. The manager came to apologize. The room was noisy. We had noise from the pool deck above, music blasting from the centrum at all hours, and a crying baby next door. We loved Costa Maya. We exited the port through a pastry shop and took a taxi to the Crazy Lobster. The beach was not crowded and the food was good with cheap Coronas. We were able to snorkle and saw lots of fish in their enclosed swimming area. No seaweed in the water. The area around Crazy Lobster had the best prices on Souviners. We went to Mr Sanchos in Cozumel for the 2nd time. The beach and water were beautiful. We were also able to snorkle here with fish in the water. The grilled shrimp was great but took 45 minutes to get. It took several hours to get my guacamole order. The mixed drinks contained no alcohol and were too sweet. We stuck with drinking beer. The boarding was awful. We picked a boarding time of 10:30 when registering many months ago. We showed up at 10:30 but didn't get on until 1 PM. They held us in a large room for several hours. The gold, plat, emerald members were all called before us. The deboarding was also unpleasant. We were in a long line that wrapped around the whole ship. The line finally ended with us having to drag our luggage down the stairs. We overall had a pleasant family vacation but will not go on this ship again and will most likely not go on Royal Caribbean again. Read Less

Ship shows outside signs of its age. A good paint job would fix this. This ship was chosen as a trip with our grandchildren and convenient, out of Texas. We did encounter issues, such as A/C and plumbing. Supervisor Staff and Diamond Concierge was helpful. We ate in dining room every night but one, waitstaff felt very inexperience but continually asked us to remember to fill out survey. (Which we did) Food was okay but it seemed like the same items every night. The buffet was even worse. It was the same options everyday for lunch. The best meal of the week was room service one night. The only dining options at night are Main Dining, Buffet or Chops (fee). It would be nice to have at least one more. Our cabin steward was a little distracted (due to family issues) but good enough. Our grandson (8 yrs, almost 9) really enjoyed the Kids Club. He went every night and was always excited to go back. The ship shows signs of age, especially outside and there are no frills and thrills like others her size. The entertainment staff was talented and we enjoyed the shows. Read Less

Took this cruise mainly because it was a different ship at our home Port. We we're not disappointed in the service and staff. After 15+ cruises on many different ships, the service on Enchantment was probably the best we've ever had. Our cabin attendant Priscilla was extremely efficient and accommodating, always with a smile. The Windjammer had one of the managers that was "Top Notch". Steven was all over the Windjammer dining area, checking on the guests, and occasionally belting out a tune tableside, and had an infectious laugh that made my day. In the conceirge lounge, Perla handled any requests you had with efficiency and a friendly smile, and our waiter, Ida couldn't have been better, would like to have taken him home with me. Ship needs work/refurbished badly. Paint, woodwork bad, needs basic drydock refurbish. All in all it was a good cruise, with above and beyond service. Read Less

This cruise was to celebrate our mom's birthday. I booked us a junior suite which she loved. The rest of the family had interior rooms. The suite was beautiful however I only saw our room attendent once and that was because I hunted him down to ask for more towels, ice, coffee pods for coffee pot and menus for breakfast room service. These items are typically provided automatically. Water bottles are also typical however they were not provided in my room or my other family rooms. I always make it a point to get to know our stateroom attendent and always have had excellent service however this was not the case. The ship seemed a bit stingy with certain amenities. Half and half for coffee was only available in the main dining room. I asked for it in the windjammer and room service but was denied and provided with tiny containers of fake creamer. We all also paid for the drink package. The drinks are now being served in tiny cups and when you ask for a bigger glass they make it a point to tell you that just because you get a bigger cup doesnt mean you get more alcohol. There also seemed to be a shortage of bartenders at the busy pool bars with a max of 2 at each bar and sometimes just one serving a huge amount of people clamoring for a drink. The ship was very nice and clean on the inside however the outside was filthy and no windows were clean.....they were so dirty you could barely see out. Not once did we see any crew members cleaning the outside of the ship. I have always seen them doing this on other cruises. We wnt to the Atlantis aquarium excursion and We were very impressed and plan on going back. The casino on the ship was very clean and not too smoky. My son came home with an extra $900. Cococay jet ski was a blast like it always is. I will miss the serenity of the island once the new "theme park" is done. I doubt i will go back as i would prefer visiting an island not owned by the ship so they can nickel and dime me more. The changes to Cococay were not really necessary. All in all it was a good cruise and mom had fun which is what really matters. I dont think i would do this cruise again however and am hoping the stingy service was just on this ship and not a new implementation made on all the royal caribbean ships. Read Less

On the other cruises we have been on room service was included, not on this one. We had movies on the television all the time, not so on this one.The cruise entertainment just a way to stay busy again not great. The dinning experience was very good for this ship. Only thing missing was red wine vinegar for the salad. The food selection for a 3 day cruise was adequate. I recommend the formal dining for a slightly better variety. We really missed having in room movies to just lay in bed and watch. The ships activities need to be revamped. I thought the entertainment was set up more for college kids. Been there done that. Overall fun trip, just not one I would have paid for. Did not meet expectations. Read Less

We have sailed on my RCCL ships and have enjoyed all of our cruises This ship, however, needs to be taken out of commission for stem to stern maintenance and refurbishment. The hull is covered with rust. There is rust around many of the windows. The windows are dirty. The pool areas are grubby. The furniture in our cabin was shabby and gouged. The food aboard is typical for Royal Caribbean. Neither especially good or bad. One thing that is new is a $7.95 charge for each room service delivery, which is outrageous. Room Service used to be complimentary (except for overnight service) and this type of “nickel and dime” up charge diminishes the upfront pricing of a cruise. Fortunately the staff and the service are excellent, which mitigated our disappointment with the condition of the ship. We will absolutely sail with RCCL again. We have another cruise planned for April. But I suggest you steer clear of this ship until the company spends some time and money to make Enchantment if the Seas sparkle Read Less

Cruised with family on this four day trip. I wont go so far as to say, it wasn't bad, but I certainly expected more. We rented a Junior Suite and it was adequate with an excellent stateroom attendant named Daniel. The food was average, at best. The buffet food area was small and during dining hours, it was so crowded, you had to stand in a long line to get the dish you wanted. There was one small counter for deserts with little choices and wasn't worth the 5-10 minute line. This ship needs overhauled and updated. The windows were filthy and I never saw any attempt by the staff to clean them. Long lines always at guest services. The casino was also disappointing. Limited tables with none of the popular games like Let it Ride or Mississippi Stud. The staff was always friendly and helpful, so thumbs up to them. Read Less

We selected this cruise because we love royal Caribbean cruise line and we need a quick vacation to give us a break from the cold. I’ll keep it short. Pro’s Great food Excellent staff Clean ship Beautiful areas to stop in for excursions or just leaving the ship Organized staff and services Cons Not much to do, not enough ship activities Old, old ship. Everyone was saying how outdated the ship and rooms were The coco cat water park was not open yet and we were under the impression it was by all the pics online, very disappointing I will for sure travel Caribbean again but never on the enchantment. Many times during the four day stay I was bored and so were my kids. They had late dinner start times and many times that the adventure oceans kids area wasn’t open. Each day we spent many hours hanging out in our room waiting for something to open or to start. The pool area is old with no slides or much to do so you can only spend so much time there. This wasn’t a win for us. Skip this cruise. Read Less

Let me start by saying this is our 17th cruise and 11th on Royal Caribbean, so we know what kind of service to expect from RC. There were many positives about this cruise. The lines were short and check-in and boarding was very quick and smooth. We actually arrived about an hour before our scheduled time but no one mentioned it and all staff we encountered at the port were super nice and friendly. Lunch in the Windjammer was great as usual. The cabins were (supposed to be ) ready at 1:30. This is where we were so disappointed. Our cabin was nasty! We were shocked that this was allowed on a RC ship. The drawers were full of hair and dust, There was a big sticky place on the counter top where an old cruise compass had been and bits were stuck to it. It was about a 3" circle so no way the cabin steward could have missed it. There was something black on the bathroom wall and a wet soapy mess on the bathroom counter. We had some packs of Lysol wipes so we had to start cleaning before we could unpack. We had to find our steward to ask for towels several times. The cruise compass that was left on our bed had the incorrect times for shows for the first night. Due to this we missed the first show. After realizing it, we went to the guest services officer, Yabin and he was very nice and apologetic but there wasn't really anything he could do. He did offer to send us wine or chocolate covered strawberries and we realized it wasn't his fault, we were just disappointed on missing the show. I have never heard of this happening and I actually took pics of the correct compass beside the incorrect one to prove that I had not mixed up the dates or times. Actually the issues with our cabin steward was the only issues that we had. A few days later we came back to our room and found that he had thrown away our stack of cruise compasses that we had been saving on the bedroom counter. When we asked him about it he said "you should have told me you wanted to save them. We are told we have to recycle them." Really, he took them off our counter and got rid of them???? Wouldn't you think they would recycle them after that guest's cruise is over? I did want to save them, but ok. We have never had to ask a cabin steward not to throw away things before. Our cabin steward's name was Angus. If you happen to have him, please know that his work isn't typical of RC, usually they are great! I want to compliment our waiter and assistant in the dining room. We had second seating and our waiter Uri and assistant Mei were awesome. The food was great in the dinning room and in the windjammer, no complaints there. During our 4 days onboard, we met and chatted with several crew members and everyone was very nice, friendly and willing to stop and talk. The Enchantment is in need of a refurbishment soon as she is showing her age. Most common areas are still in pretty good shape but the cabins are pretty worn and rust is showing on doors and hinges. We didn't leave the ship at either the private island or Nassau. It was too cold for us to swim so we decided to stay on and relax and we have been to Nassau several times. We did spend a great deal of time in the casino and all the casino staff were super! Read Less

My husband booked this cruise as a birthday present and it was a nice gift. I was disappointed in how dated this ship is. Complete with an abundance of brass fixtures and maple wood furniture. The issues that were a sticking point with me was how dirty the windows surrounding the ship were, both inside and out. From all accounts, it seemed that the windows have not been washed since Whitney Houston was at her prime. And other things such as torn fabric and damaged furniture. The food was decent, The Chop Grille was a nice treat. We stayed in a balcony cabin. Again, just very out dated and old. This ship needs to go back to the docks for a major refurb. The cabin was kept clean and the room attendant was very attentive and did a great job. For the same amount of dollars, I could have gone a nicer ship. Read Less

We always cruise Royal Caribbean. We have done Disney (great but expensive) and Carnival. We always come back to RC. Last year we cruised on the Oasis. We wanted aomething quick this year and knew this boat would not even compare to that, and I wasn’t expecting it to. I knew it was a small ship, when we booked it. Pros Entertainment was good. The cruise director Bobby is really good. 70s party! Don’t miss it! So much fun! Ceremony of Flags was very nice. Most of the staff we encountered were very friendly. The DJ was great! Jimmy Hopper who was the headliner show was amazing! Cons Ship is old and shows its age. Room was dirty. Shower had mold, baseboards were filthy, there was hair in the drawers and my son stepped on a peice of glass the first day we were in the cabin. We were pretty much rained out in Nassau. Which I know RC can’t control. However since everyone was hanging around on the boat there was nothing to do. Since it was a port day there was not much planned on the activities calendar. RC didn’t do anything to help entertain all these people either. The pool was closed due to weather and everyone was just sitting around. The food was mediocre at best. We never had a meal we were wowed by. Windjammer cafe is way to small to,accommodate the guests on that boat. It was always packed and hard to find a seat. Our room steward was ok. I’ve had far better. He did the minimum to be done. The only time we ever saw him was when he came to apologize for the glass on the carpet. We got no towel animals. Lol Some staff is either overworked or hate their jobs. I encountered this more on Cococay. They were not friendly and actually kind of rude. Our trip was not terrible, but I have had way better food and service on other RC ships. This one definitely needs a little tweaking Read Less

Chose this 3 day because it is 2 hr. drive and son was at scout camp for weekend. Service-perfect. Bartenders, stewards, waiters were all friendly and efficient. Dining room food was good, not great. No lobster night. Prime rib was not good. Average at dinner. Lunch had the regular menu and hot table that was great. Breakfast was good. Stay away from the buffet restaurant---not as good as Golden Buffet and menu changed very little. RCCL food has deteriorated over recent years. Entertainment was good but limited. Excursions were offered and a little high so we did our own in Nassau. Nassau is still dirty and crazy. DO NOT DRIVE! Get to Paradise island for a cleaner, safer time. Cococay is the private island. It is magnificent. Snorkeling was great. Saw reef shark, rays, eels, ton of normal colored fish plus flounder and barracuda. The picnic ashore is fabulous .Lots to see including dozens of iguanas. They are turning half of island into a waterpark but it will probably be great. RCCL should have more ships using Cococay. Cabin is typically small like all cruises but well laid out. Getting on and off the ship is a breeze. Overall fun but food is a big part of cruising and it disappoints. Cococay makes it worth it. Read Less

This was our first cruise - a three day holiday cruise to Freeport and Coco Cay. This ship is clearly older and in need of renovations but not terrible by any means. Ever crew member was friendly and responsive. I found the food excellent at all times and well exceeded expectations - My Fair Lady, Chop Grill and Windjammer. Susie and Nicola as cruise directors brought a lot of energy to the entertainment and Paul Boland was the highlight. The bike tour on Freeport was average at best despite a very nice tour guide - I wish we were able to visit Nassau and had an excursion to Atlantis. Coco Cay was great - highly recommend you take the first tender off the ship as the lines get very long mid-morning and the lines are also long to get back to the boat - kills a lot of time. Definitely try the wave jet tour on Coco Cay - a blast! I heard we lucky to get to Coco Cay as the last 2 or 3 cruises could not because of the weather - caution to future travelers in December 2019. My wife and I are long time RCCL cruisers. We are Diamond status and are always happy with RCCL. We booked this cruise because one of our cruising buddies was having a birthday while on board. After watching the price, we ended up booking interior state room #3155 expecting a normal interior stateroom like we enjoyed on numerous occasions. By the time we got into our room after muster and waiting for our other traveling companions we had to quickly get ready for dinner. We did notice a pole/pipe in the room near the bed but because we were rushing we didn't stop to analyze it. Actually joked about it. Then when we returned to the room late that evening it was quite apparent that this pole hindered getting into the bed and also severely obstructed the view of the TV. Hmmm …. what do we do about this at this late hour. Immediately before breakfast the next morning, we went to Guest Services and complained. No rooms available to move us to. We complained that a room like this needed full disclosure before the guest accepted it because of the pole, obstruction and difficulty getting in and out of bed. Then we advised them about the constant squeak all night that ear buds and the pillow over our heads slightly deafened. Guest Services said they would investigate. Our room attended advised us that a Supervisor had come to our room and our sweet attended asked us if we were mad at him. We assured him that we weren't and asked if he put the pole in the room. He said NO and actually admitted that it made it very difficult for him to make up the bed. We laughed with him and said if you had put it there then we'd be mad at you. A day goes by without any contact from Guest Services. Finally we get a call on the next to the last day asking us if we wanted to be moved to another room. We said NO because we were already thru more than half the cruise. They said they had been trying to reach us but we were never in our room. Dah … this is a cruise after all. We asked why they didn't leave a message on the phone. No reply to that question. They said they left us two notes outside our door to contact them. No notes. Finally, after much conversation they gave us a discount towards our next cruise and their apologies. Lesson learned … when booking a cruise ASK questions about your stateroom. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask. Overall, entertainment was good, the singer Lou Gazzara, was the best. The casino was smoker smelly and a turn off. The food in fine dining was great and Windjammer is always consistently good. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Read Less

My wife and I chose this cruise for my 50th birthday. This was my ninth cruise and her 11th - all in six years. We've cruised Celebrity, Royal, Carnival and Norwegian and loved them all. The best vacation we have ever taken was on the Freedom of the Seas in 2013. Consequently, we had high expectations for this trip. Many of them were met but I'm starting to think the class of ship you sail does indeed make a big difference. Ultimately, we had a fantastic experience but Enchantment is showing her age and for whatever reason, there seemed to be a lot of smoking areas on board which was very different than on any of the other ships we've sailed. Cruising during hurricane season is definitely cheaper (worth it) but if you think the ship is going to be empty given the season and the fact that kids are back in school, think again. I learned this firsthand. We were in stateroom 8593. The best part of the room is it was very, very cool in temperature. A nice change from the Carnival ship we sailed in June (the Magic). However, unlike the serenity of the Magic, 8593 is above the 5th deck Centrum where they program music until midnight daily. Since our room was first on the hallway outside the center area, it was like being in the middle of a concert. It was bad. When we called guest services they didn't understand our concern so they came upstairs to see if they could hear it. There is NO WAY you could miss it. They offered us earplugs but honestly, we never used them. They should just figure out how to install a door of some type off the open area which will minimize the noise. We just figured out the rest of the week that we had to stay up late to avoid the issue nightly. Our stateroom attendant, Sylvio, was excellent. The room was always clean. The storage was good but the shower is unbelievably small. Not a problem, mind you, but just be aware. The wonderful thing about a smaller ship like the Enchantment is everything seems so accessible. Even though we used the stairs most of the time, we seldom had to wait for elevators and from deck eight, everything we needed was either four decks up or down. That was really nice. Dinner in the My Fair Lady dining room was good. We were seated at a table for eight and enjoyed our dinner companions very much. We really lucked out. Lady, our lead server, was outstanding. The food is plentiful, the service was unbelievably good but we've decided the food on Carnival is better. Entertainment was excellent. The shows are much better aboard RCI than they are on Norwegian or Carnival. This was the first cruise where we actually liked the comedian. I don't recall his name but even the adult show wasn't too much and it was indeed funny. The pools were crowded so we didn't bother but I did the climbing wall and the bounce/trampoline thing which were great fun. The Windjammer is to be avoided at all costs. The design makes zero sense for all those people and we never could figure it out. The food is tasty but it's so unpleasant that we ate our breakfasts in the main dining room each morning. Coco Cay was an absolutely perfect day. The beach, lunch and water were unreal. We had been before and I was looking forward to it again. It did not disappoint. I will remember that day for a very long time. When they open the "Perfect Day at Coco Cay" experience next year, I will be racing to go back. 'Crusin Susan' was our CD and she was hilarious. We liked her very much. The staff overall was very strong, the fitness facilities and spa were nice and the theater was actually bigger than we have seen which meant seating wasn't an issue. The Love and Marriage Show, the Quest and other staples of cruising were all there and we loved them all. Overall, we had a very good trip but I probably would not sail the Enchantment again. It's time for a dry dock and some rethinking of space usage on board. However, I'm addicted to cruising (it's absolutely the best value vacation out there) and while on board we booked for next year aboard the Adventure of the Seas to New England and Canada. RCI offers a great cruise experience - all the lines we have sailed do - so no brand loyalty here. Can't wait till next year! Read Less

The cruise was decent. The start of our cruise was a bit rocky, the muster drill took incredibly long to begin and seemed quite disorganized, also there seemed to be an issue with their intercom system as not all announcements could be heard around the ship (we didn't even hear that the rooms were ready while we were at the Windjammer). The waiting staff in the My Fair Lady dining room were nice but the food service took incredibly long (at least an hour to get our entrees after ordering), so dinner every night took at least 2 hours .The food was subpar, but I guess that's to be expected with such mass production. I loved the ranger cookies, they were delicious, however the Windjammer kept running out of them. There's a lot of entertainment on the ship however, we didn't get to take in any shows. My 6 year old absolutely loved the Adventure Ocean, kid's club; the workers were wonderful with the kids and kept them entertained. My 6yo didn't want the cruise to end, she had a blast. The inside of the ship was very clean and the majority of the staff was outstanding. Our cabin was kept very clean with fresh towels and ice delivered every day. The food in the main dining room was very good and the quality of food at the Windjammer was above average. As with other cruise lines, the bar/waiter staff on the pool deck is relentless. Most people want to spend their time by the pool soaking up the sun, reading a book or taking a nap but this is very hard to do when the staff continually asks you about wanting/needing drinks. The exterior of the ship needs some updating and a new paint job. We have been on many other ships and this ship was very poorly maintained with rust spots everywhere and it appeared they were not doing any upkeep in this area. Also, the Balmoral Island Beach Break excursion was very loud with a DJ playing rap music and there could not be any relaxation as all you heard was the loud and obnoxious music. Read Less

There were many factors that were not pleasing. As a first time cruse for me and my wife, I think we will try another cruse line for our next trip. Royal Caribbean was recommended to us by friends, and we lack the experience to compare, but it wasn't what we expected. 1). Our room smelled terrible when we first arrived. 2). Since we travelled alone we relied mainly on the photographers to take our pictures so we could purchase them later. Well we didn't receive the paper that informed us of the deadline to pick up the pictures, until after the deadline.. I do believe it was in our room when it was supposed to be, but we didn't stay in our room, we tried to enjoy the ship and the off shore adventures. So we are highly disappointed that we didn't get to purchase our pictures. and to add insult to injury, we even visited the photo shop the night before the deadline (not knowing about the deadline), and there was no one in the shop to answer question or give us any assistance. The off shore excursions were horrid. When we arrived at Nassau, we were told to stand in one location until our escort arrived... which was a terrible lie. We stood there until anyone on the boat who wanted to go snorkeling purchased their tickets. I pre-purchased my tickets on-line and was on the last boat (out of 3) to leave. my wife and I stood on the scorching hot blacktop from 12:15 till 2:15. Our appointment was for 12:45. Not only did we leave late, we arrived back late. Once we arrived back to the island (LATE), we discovered all the shops had already closed for the day. A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!! I own 2 companies and a non-profit. I was amazed at the lack of administrative organization. If I ran any of my entities the way I witnessed Enchantment of the Seas ran, I would be out of business. I feel that the main focus on the ship was to extract as much money as possible from each person while not being concerned about their personal experience. Read Less

This was my first cruise and I was expecting the ship to be modern and swanky but the ship itself is very dated, also rusty on the outside. We didn't opt to upgrade our room as we weren't cruising for the stateroom but I will add that the queen/king bed is actually two twin beds pushed together and not that comfy. The food was overall very good but having different options offered each day would have been nicer. I felt somewhat bored while aboard because there wasn't much to do except eat, drink, and gamble. The entertainment was "eh" and somewhat cheesy. The ports of call were exactly like you would expect...Nassau: hounded to death to buy stuff and CocoCay, the RC island, was really more of the same experience as the boat, only with a beach. To be fair, a friend had planned the trip, I just went along. IF I ever cruise again, I would pay as close of attention to the ship details as the ports of call. The one thing I would add is that the staff were all AMAZING! Lastly, please know that while your trip is paid in advance, drink package included, you will be assessed a per person daily gratuity charge as well as housekeeping fee so be prepared for a bill at the end. While we had a great time, we were disappointed in a lot of areas. Customer service desk was very rude when we had issues (i.e. charges on card, room cleaning) and the food was less than stellar. The food options were MINIMAL and weren't great and the food in the formal dining was not good. For the price you pay for a cruise, you'd expect more options and better quality food. Our room got cleaned once the whole trip. We were told by many people to try Royal Caribbean, but weren't that impressed with it overall. The overall staff was rude and not very helpful. When we were in our room, there were noises that kept up all day and most of the night and when we told customer service about it, as well as the room steward for our hall, they said it was normal and wouldn't' keep up. Yet, it was non-stop and would keep us up at night. Like I said, we had a great time, but weren't that impressed overall. Read Less

Check in was a breeze. Very Clean and sanitized ship. Staff was friendly but overworked therefore they were less attentive to guests. Recreation staff and Spa Staff were amazing! Ship offers good spa deals for guest. The entertainment singers and preformers were TOP NOTCH. We enjoyed the dancing, sitting and listening to music, bar hopping and night activities. Bahamas is pretty and we did a guided Nassau tour. Driving is not for the faint of heart. CocoCay was beautiful but HOT. The island staff their were RUDE and could care less about guest. Parasailing was a Fun excursion and worth the money. Take your own snorkel gear...to rent is $35 person. Food was ok... nothing spectacular. Also, food is not offered all night like other cruises that we have been on. :( There was no late night ice cream. Drink cards were a good investment. I noticed a lot of guest were confused on drink cards, food, and formal night; so staff needs to do a better job being available to answer questions and guidence. My rating is low because there was No security noticed on the ship! Unrudely guest got out of hand and one pulled his pants down at dinner! This guest should had been handled by the security at the beginning of the the cruise; but was ignored. It was a great deal as far as price; but won’t be taking this ship again. Read Less

We booked this cruise because it was the closest port to home and we were looking for a quick getaway. The staff is wonderful! Always willing to help in anyway. However, the ship is older and needs a bit of an upgrade. We had a baby with us which made it a little more difficult. Wish we had booked a bigger cruise boat with more activities. It was clean as the staff were constantly cleaning. The food was just good but not great. But I'm sure it's hard cooking for 2300+ people. The drinks were delicious and they were very generous on the alcohol proportion. The main dining room had good food and good service. My husband lost his wallet with 875 in it and every dollar was returned. We rented a bungalow in Cococay and it was so relaxing and much needed with a small child. I recommend to anyone with an infant. Food will be delivered to your bungalow and towels offered(less u have to carry on/ off the ship). And the bathrooms there were cleaned every hour. Downside to the bungalows are the water there is very shallow. Read Less

We picked this cruise because it was a 4 day cruise for a good deal. The only other cruise we have done is the Disney Dream. We loved it but didn't want to spend the money this time. Well you get what you pay for apparently. The cabins were an adequate size but the beds were hard as a rock. The bathroom was in dire need of updates. There was a perpetual sewer odor in our bathroom we noticed on other parts of the ship as well. It was so bad at times even the staff was apologizing. Our cabin steward was nice and did a nice job. We got a connecting room but the door was locked between the rooms and only they could unlock it. We had to ask about 4 times for someone to unlock it. They didn't seem to understand what we wanted. Once unlocked you can't lock it back for privacy at any time. That was annoying. We could hear kids run up and down the hallways at night which was annoying. The food was average. The fresh fruit was delicious however. The Chopps restaurant charged us an extra $25 a person to eat there and it was the best meal we had. The buffet had the same things every day for breakfast and lunch. It was fine. Supper you pick an appetizer, meal, and dessert. The food was fine but nothing stood out amazing. We've had better meals at Outback. Also most of our food was either lukewarm or cold. Nothing was super hot. Plus they sit you with strangers. I get some people enjoy that but it was so loud in the dining room it was just too hard to try to talk to people who weren't directly right beside you. The wait staff was nice. We opted not to get a drink package as we don't drink much soda or alcohol and we definitely saved a lot of money that way. It was easier to get alcohol than water though. There are signs up not to refill your own water bottles from the free machines even though it's ok to use their drink package cup to do so?? Some people did anyway. I also saw people carry on their own cases of water onto the ship and they let them. There's not many place to eat on the ship. Besides the main restaurant and the buffet restaurant there's an ice cream machine and a small place in the Solarium that's very out of the way. There's also Ben and Jerry's and a Starbucks that cost extra. Most of the decor is very dated and seats around the ship are looking worn out. The public bathrooms were downright falling apart. We didn't go to the casino since they allow smoking and we have asthma. They did have a good selection of entertainment options and a show each night after dinner. The theater has a lot of seating but for anything in the Centrum (main area of ship) it gets crowded fast so to get a seat you need to get their early or stand. Most of those were really good. We don't go on a cruise to buy jewelry or expensive bags but we do like to take souiveneers home for family. Get those in Nassau or Coco Cay because there's nothing on board that's very exciting. Not even a good selection of tshirts. We took the ship tour which was interesting. We paid to snorkel on Coco Cay which was fun. The best snorkeling was to the left facing the swimming area. They didn't tell us that. They didn't even show us how to use the life vests but we figured it out. The workers seemed annoyed we were bothering them to get equipment to snorkel. Everyone said keep walking to get to the quiet part of the beach. Well the less crowded place doesn't have as much shade so we ended up sitting closer to the front of the island under a palm tree. The hammocks were in a completely out of the way place. The food for lunch was a buffet style and ok. They didn't open up the free drink machines until lunchtime. They had a water station at the very front of the island we didn't even find until we were ready to leave. However there were tons of places to get alcohol. After being on Disney we weren't impressed with most of of Royal Caribbean. Maybe a bigger newer ship would be better? We still had fun and got to go to the Bahamas so I don't regret going but we will find a different ship next time. Read Less
