Let me start by saying this is our 17th cruise and 11th on Royal Caribbean, so we know what kind of service to expect from RC. There were many positives about this cruise. The lines were short and check-in and boarding was very quick and smooth. We actually arrived about an hour before our scheduled time but no one mentioned it and all staff we encountered at the port were super nice and friendly. Lunch in the Windjammer was great as usual. The cabins were (supposed to be ) ready at 1:30. This is where we were so disappointed. Our cabin was nasty! We were shocked that this was allowed on a RC ship. The drawers were full of hair and dust, There was a big sticky place on the counter top where an old cruise compass had been and bits were stuck to it. It was about a 3" circle so no way the cabin steward could have missed it. There was something black on the bathroom wall and a wet soapy mess on the bathroom counter. We had some packs of Lysol wipes so we had to start cleaning before we could unpack. We had to find our steward to ask for towels several times. The cruise compass that was left on our bed had the incorrect times for shows for the first night. Due to this we missed the first show. After realizing it, we went to the guest services officer, Yabin and he was very nice and apologetic but there wasn't really anything he could do. He did offer to send us wine or chocolate covered strawberries and we realized it wasn't his fault, we were just disappointed on missing the show. I have never heard of this happening and I actually took pics of the correct compass beside the incorrect one to prove that I had not mixed up the dates or times. Actually the issues with our cabin steward was the only issues that we had. A few days later we came back to our room and found that he had thrown away our stack of cruise compasses that we had been saving on the bedroom counter. When we asked him about it he said "you should have told me you wanted to save them. We are told we have to recycle them." Really, he took them off our counter and got rid of them???? Wouldn't you think they would recycle them after that guest's cruise is over? I did want to save them, but ok. We have never had to ask a cabin steward not to throw away things before. Our cabin steward's name was Angus. If you happen to have him, please know that his work isn't typical of RC, usually they are great! I want to compliment our waiter and assistant in the dining room. We had second seating and our waiter Uri and assistant Mei were awesome. The food was great in the dinning room and in the windjammer, no complaints there. During our 4 days onboard, we met and chatted with several crew members and everyone was very nice, friendly and willing to stop and talk. The Enchantment is in need of a refurbishment soon as she is showing her age. Most common areas are still in pretty good shape but the cabins are pretty worn and rust is showing on doors and hinges. We didn't leave the ship at either the private island or Nassau. It was too cold for us to swim so we decided to stay on and relax and we have been to Nassau several times. We did spend a great deal of time in the casino and all the casino staff were super! Read Less

For starters, all of the negative complaints on here are more than likely from people who have nothing else better to do with their time but complain. The ship is out in the ocean 365 days a year, it will have rust. There will be wear and tear on the furniture in the rooms. Stop being so nit-picky and just enjoy yourselves! Our only complaint from this cruise was the fact that the "adults only" was not enforced in the Solarium. I understand they opened the pools up on the first day for children because of the cold weather, but there were still families with small children in there the rest of the week. They weren't using the pools, they were getting food from the cafe - which again, I understand it may have been the only food available at some points, but they should have been asked to go back out on the deck to eat it. Instead of the peace and quiet that we went into the Solarium for, we had crying and screaming children - some of which were running around. It was rather upsetting that this was allowed, as it was advertised as ADULTS ONLY. We were on our Honeymoon and left my 11 year old at home for a reason - not to have to deal with other people's kids, because most of them didn't care and just let their kids do what they wanted to do and didn't even attempt to keep them quiet. The only other "issue" was the confusion on dining in the main dining room. I didn't sign up for My Time dining, in fact our papers said our dining time was 6:00. However, when we got on board, we found out we had My Time dining. While it is convenient, I loved the cruises I have been on in the past where you get to know your serving team and they get to know you - we didn't have that this time. Other than that, our cruise was very enjoyable. Our stateroom attendant - room 7650 - was great and attentive. My husband and I had great service at the bar - he had no complaints on the alcoholic drinks. We also had amazing service in the main dining room by Pablo. He was the assistant waiter, but the actual waiter was quite busy, so Pablo took over and was simply AMAZING. I would have loved to have him the whole cruise, but we had him the last night. Again, this was our Honeymoon, so the little celebration they had in the Viking Lounge on the 11th floor was very nice and a pleasant surprise. We paid extra for a balcony room and it was the BEST decision made - our room was very spacious, clean, and definitely worth the extra cost from an inside room. Getting on and off the ship was a breeze. We got to skip most of the lines for the Embarkation because we had passports and filled out all of our information online prior to the cut off. Debarkation was even better - we did the self assist and were off the boat in record time. We stood in line for a little while, but we still went from standing in line, going through customs, getting to our car and onto the highway in less than an hour - we were on the highway by 8 am. Previous cruises I have been on took forever, so this was great. We will definitely be back, just not sure when as I went on this cruise 5 months pregnant, so it might be a while. :) Read Less

My husband booked this cruise as a birthday present and it was a nice gift. I was disappointed in how dated this ship is. Complete with an abundance of brass fixtures and maple wood furniture. The issues that were a sticking point with me was how dirty the windows surrounding the ship were, both inside and out. From all accounts, it seemed that the windows have not been washed since Whitney Houston was at her prime. And other things such as torn fabric and damaged furniture. The food was decent, The Chop Grille was a nice treat. We stayed in a balcony cabin. Again, just very out dated and old. This ship needs to go back to the docks for a major refurb. The cabin was kept clean and the room attendant was very attentive and did a great job. For the same amount of dollars, I could have gone a nicer ship. Read Less

We booked last minute to get on a cruise this year. This was our 11th Royal Caribbean cruise but we've never been on anything less than a 7 day itinerary. I wasn't expecting a lot, but was pleasantly surprised. The staff crammed nearly every event of a 7 day cruise into a 4 day span. Bobby the cruise director was outstanding. Entertainment was good with the headliner show very good. Coco Cay is a good stop and will only improve with the completion of the water park there. We don't think much of Nassau and didn't go ashore there. The final day of the 4 day itinerary is a slow cruise sea day with lots to do. Dining room service was perfect. The food was typical Royal Caribbean. It's not gourmet but I never left any venue hungry either. Our cabin steward was efficient and satisfied every need. The phone app to use onboard was a surprise to us. Maybe because it was a last minute booking, we missed that detail. Our next cruise, we'll be better prepared for that. Now, this isn't the queen of the fleet by any means. The exterior of Enchantment shows its age but the interior is well maintained. Bottom line is that I'd have no reservations about booking this cruise again. Read Less

I went on my bachelor trip in late January and we cruised on Royal Caribbean's "Enchantment of the Sea". Needless to say it was the greatest vacation I have ever embarked on. This was the first real cruise I've been on, and I was interested in how the overall service would be. Here is a short summary of the important components when going on vacation for this ship: Cabin: We stayed in an interior cabin where the rooms are not as big as the ones on the exterior of the boat. Although it was a little small, the cleanliness and kindness of the staff was phenomenal. Food: I thought that the food would be simple (tacos, pizza, chicken, etc.) and although you still have those options, you can choose anything from beef tenderloin, prime rib, escargot, lamb shank, and much more. Great tasting and the waiters were impeccable. Service: By far the thing I was most impressed with on the ship. All of the staff make it very clear that their number 1 priority is to serve you. Drink getting empty? Someone will be there to offer to get you another. Questions regarding the amenities? Staff are very knowledgeable on the location. Overall value: We paid $426 per person for a 3 night cruise (we got the unlimited drink package however, so if you do not get this then it would've been $276 per person). 95% of things on the ship is inclusive in the value you pay, including tip. I would rate the value as excellent. "Enchantment of the Sea" was the first cruise I've sailed with Royal Caribbean, and it certainly will not be my last. I assure that if you choose to sail with this company, your expectations will be exceeded. Read Less

We always cruise Royal Caribbean. We have done Disney (great but expensive) and Carnival. We always come back to RC. Last year we cruised on the Oasis. We wanted aomething quick this year and knew this boat would not even compare to that, and I wasn’t expecting it to. I knew it was a small ship, when we booked it. Pros Entertainment was good. The cruise director Bobby is really good. 70s party! Don’t miss it! So much fun! Ceremony of Flags was very nice. Most of the staff we encountered were very friendly. The DJ was great! Jimmy Hopper who was the headliner show was amazing! Cons Ship is old and shows its age. Room was dirty. Shower had mold, baseboards were filthy, there was hair in the drawers and my son stepped on a peice of glass the first day we were in the cabin. We were pretty much rained out in Nassau. Which I know RC can’t control. However since everyone was hanging around on the boat there was nothing to do. Since it was a port day there was not much planned on the activities calendar. RC didn’t do anything to help entertain all these people either. The pool was closed due to weather and everyone was just sitting around. The food was mediocre at best. We never had a meal we were wowed by. Windjammer cafe is way to small to,accommodate the guests on that boat. It was always packed and hard to find a seat. Our room steward was ok. I’ve had far better. He did the minimum to be done. The only time we ever saw him was when he came to apologize for the glass on the carpet. We got no towel animals. Lol Some staff is either overworked or hate their jobs. I encountered this more on Cococay. They were not friendly and actually kind of rude. Our trip was not terrible, but I have had way better food and service on other RC ships. This one definitely needs a little tweaking Read Less

This cruise was absolutely terrible, this was me and my husbands first cruise experience the cruise ship is so unorganized. The cruise never told us anything about downloading an app that tells you the time of everything and also did not supply us with Times of dinner, breakfast, or lunch. The last day of the cruise we got a bill with everything we had purchased they ran my card for the drink packages the first day ,and still wanted to me to pay for it. They told us that it would just come out of my bank account. They didn’t not inform us the that it would just be coming out of my bank account when we purchased it . There was no warning about how in Nassau the Atlantis location you had to purchase 5 different passes just to go through the building. You aren’t allowed I’m the swim in the pools or go on the beaches without buying a pass in the Nassau Atlantis location. The bands on the ship where terrible as well. Read Less

Chose this 3 day because it is 2 hr. drive and son was at scout camp for weekend. Service-perfect. Bartenders, stewards, waiters were all friendly and efficient. Dining room food was good, not great. No lobster night. Prime rib was not good. Average at dinner. Lunch had the regular menu and hot table that was great. Breakfast was good. Stay away from the buffet restaurant---not as good as Golden Buffet and menu changed very little. RCCL food has deteriorated over recent years. Entertainment was good but limited. Excursions were offered and a little high so we did our own in Nassau. Nassau is still dirty and crazy. DO NOT DRIVE! Get to Paradise island for a cleaner, safer time. Cococay is the private island. It is magnificent. Snorkeling was great. Saw reef shark, rays, eels, ton of normal colored fish plus flounder and barracuda. The picnic ashore is fabulous .Lots to see including dozens of iguanas. They are turning half of island into a waterpark but it will probably be great. RCCL should have more ships using Cococay. Cabin is typically small like all cruises but well laid out. Getting on and off the ship is a breeze. Overall fun but food is a big part of cruising and it disappoints. Cococay makes it worth it. Read Less

Me and my partner went on this cruise for a getaway weekend and the overall review of the ship was poor. Our best time we had was off the ship at our excursions. I have been on 9 other cruises and this was by far the worst cruising experience. Food: Poor, there were only three main places to eat where the food was bland and they actually announced to leave the dining room when finished because room was cramped. Also room service is not free compared to other ships where it is. They served the same food twice for lunch and breakfast was the just about the same every day. Activities on ship: Poor, I was disappointed that there was no separate piano bar, comedy club, sweet shop. All these activists were ran in the main theatre room. Compared to other royal carribean ships the shows were disappointing and what was shown on the commercials was not similar so do not expect what you see. Cococay: We has been shown the cococay pictures and were very excited to ride the water slides and water park. When we arrived that island had not been finished and there was no water park, and felt like we had been scammed and didn’t read the fine print. Besides that the beaches were not crowded and very nice. Room: Moderate, our housekeeper was amazing but we unknowing booked our room under the casino. BAD IDEA. We were kept up until 2 a.m every night and when we asked the staff to quiet down or move rooms they had told us “well we make the most money at this time in the casino”. We are young and go to bed later but the noise was extranet loud and you could hear people screaming in the casino. Very disappointed. Overall we had felt like we wasted our money besides the excursions, due to the food, activities and treatment. Read Less

This was an excellent way to wind down from the holidays and enjoy a vacation holiday with our family. It was a family reunion and we were accommodated for a family meeting, as well as enjoying our evening dinners together. There were approximately 40 of us and no one complained about anything. Although the talent in the show was excellent, it was geared more to an older Caucasian audience, which was not entertaining for the 40 members of our family onboard. All of the service attendants were attentive and friendly. Our waiting staff was always on point and we had an amazing chef, Chef Eunise who went out of his way to cater to my picky culinary tastes. The food prepared was excellent, as he went above and beyond. The island of Coco Cay was an excellent way to spend the day off the ship and have the beach and bar-b-q experience. Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas was a great experience. Read Less

To avoid the holiday costs we choose the weekend cruise to the Bahamas. I read some of these reviews and warned my spouse to not get his hopes up since it wasn't looking great. Getting on the ship was a breeze, we waited until later in the afternoon and avoided lines. Once on the boat, we went to our room to find the entire level 3 was locked out. This was the biggest downfall of the cruise. We went to guest services and had to wait in the biggest line because both 3 and 7 were locked out. They made everyone get out of line for the safety drill which was frustrating, but we eventually all got into our rooms. They comped the room 25$ for this inconvenience and our first two drinks we had while we were waiting to speak to someone. Dinner the first night was good- the french onion soup was amazing. The waitstaff does a great job remembering drink orders and accommodating everyone. The menu was a variety. My favorite part was we were sat with 3 additional couples, same age, who quickly became our friends. We ended up attending every dinner and hanging out with them the entire cruise. Nassau was an experience, as most islands are. We rented a scooter and went over to explore atlantis (the free areas) and caught some local food before getting back on. CocoCay was a blast. We did not know lunch was served there so we ate at windjammer before getting off the boat (also good). Our favorite part was the floating bar and the atmosphere. It was a day well spent. The pizza in the Solarium was excellent. Always hot and always available. The line was always there but moved along steady. The casino staff was very friendly and helpful if you were learning a new game ect. We did order water bottles to our room and they wanted 5$ which was disappointing. I thought room service was included. I did not attend any of the trivia or bingo but i heard great things about it. Our room was clean for the most part and not too small but not overly big either. The winds picked up at night and the boat was rocky. I felt it the entire time when I don't remember feeling it at all on my cruise 10 years ago. I am still feeling it 2 days after disembarking. We enjoyed the smaller ship because you can get from point A to point B better, but it does not handle the sea as well. Overall great cruise. Met great people, ate great food, and had an amazing time. Even with the couple hiccups I would recommend it. Most of the negative reviews are from nitpicky people. If you enjoy a drink and good company you will enjoy this cruise. Read Less

This was our first cruise - a three day holiday cruise to Freeport and Coco Cay. This ship is clearly older and in need of renovations but not terrible by any means. Ever crew member was friendly and responsive. I found the food excellent at all times and well exceeded expectations - My Fair Lady, Chop Grill and Windjammer. Susie and Nicola as cruise directors brought a lot of energy to the entertainment and Paul Boland was the highlight. The bike tour on Freeport was average at best despite a very nice tour guide - I wish we were able to visit Nassau and had an excursion to Atlantis. Coco Cay was great - highly recommend you take the first tender off the ship as the lines get very long mid-morning and the lines are also long to get back to the boat - kills a lot of time. Definitely try the wave jet tour on Coco Cay - a blast! I heard we lucky to get to Coco Cay as the last 2 or 3 cruises could not because of the weather - caution to future travelers in December 2019. I was looking for a short cruise for warm weather and this did not disappoint. My last cruise was for 7 nights on the Allure and was too long for me. I drove down to Port Canaveral and parked at the port. Within 20 minutes, I was on the boat. As compared to boarding the Allure, this was great. The ship was a lot smaller than the Allure but it was not crowded. The gym was a little crowded in the mornings so you had to wait for a machine or equipment. Breakfast and lunch were crowded but it was manageble. The first night was very windy and the ship rocked a lot. Dramamine was necessary. The rest of the cruise was smooth. The excursions at Freeport seemed to be a rip off so I just walked around the port and relaxed on the ship. Next time I will probably rent a car and explore on my own. $70 for a day rental seems to be a better deal. Coco Cay was exactly what I needed. I rented a beach bed. The beds are on the South Beach and are the most remote of all. I rented bed #7, which is the farthest from everyone. You are provided a shuttle which is a quick ride. It would probably take 15-20 minutes to walk. They have a station nearby that will radio the shuttle to pick you up whenever you like. You are provided 2 1 liter bottles of water. There is no food available on this side so I would recommend taking the provided lunch delivered to your bed. It's nothing to write home about but it was sufficient. Next year I will probably rent the bed and also try the jet ski. By the way, when you board the ship on day one, go ahead and select your bed quickly. The island is still under development but it well hidden from view (other than when the pier). The water park should be finished this year. Hopefully it won't take away from the beach view. The buffet food was ok. There were a few things that tasted great. A lot of things were mediocre. You had water, juice, tea as your drinks available. I didn't see a need for the drink package. We took our luggage ourselves to disembark. It seemed like half the ship did the same. Once we started moving, the process was pretty quick. I was off the boat and in my are in 20 minutes. I'm going to go again next year. It will be on the Navigator. Hopefully it will be just as enjoyable. By the way, the entertainment was terrible. It was so bad, you don't feel guilty about walking out during the performance. Fortunately there were other things to do. Read Less

We decided to do our very first Christmas cruise after more than a hundred cruises. We had MTD and the food was good to excellent. Christmas Dinner was from a special menu (see Photo) and was excellent. Service was as good as we ever have had on any cruise. We did Windjammer a couple of times for breakfast and lunch. Food there was ok but it was jammed each time we were there and there were too many discourteous guests! Park Cafe was good and we had soup, roast beef sandwiches, salads and hot pressed sandwiches all of which were very good. The best part of this cruise was the Special Christmas presentations. The Cruise Director with the Singers and Orchestra led the guests and Senior Officers in several carols and a Christmas tree lighting. The Singers, Dancers and Orchestra did a 2 plus hours of Christmas theme songs and dancing. The Orchestra did a Mannheim Steamroller number that was fantastic. On Christmas Day Santa Clause gave the more than 700 children (aged 0-17) appropriate gifts. Over all this was a very good cruise and the entire crew did an excellent job keeping things upbeat and in the Christmas spirit! Embarkation and Disembarking at Port Canaveral Terminal 1 was a breeze. We use this terminal several times a year. There has been a change where the only priority lane upon entering is for Suites and Pinnacles. I use a Rollator so was allowed access into that lane. We missed CocoCay because of high seas; however, we did stay in Nassau overnight so we were there from 8AM until 130PM the following day. Read Less

Picked the cruise for the date and port. Service is very good but the staff looks exhausted. Few activities. Activities manager is not happy with annoying customers. Missed CoCoCay due to weather. RC does not advertise how many times they miss CoCoCay which is billed as the highlight of the cruise. Nassau is not good. Blue Lagoon was not well maintained and they reserve the only good part of the beach for VIP customers. The food is bland. Freshly cooked and warm but bland. Did the bottomless mimosa brunch and galley tour. It was hit and miss. Did not care about employee of the month program and it seemed like they were stalling and filling time. Mimosas were good. The food was the same food you get at lunch ... nothing special and they don’t show the menu until you sit down so you don’t know that they are giving you less for $35 per person. The cruise industry is similar to the automobile industry ... some people get good deals and others pay full price for less. The boat cannot handle rough seas. We got tossed around too much for what little winds we went through. I do not recommend. Lobster, filet, lean steak, baked potato all cost extra. When you miss COCOCAY, you get nothing extra ... you just stay on the boat. Big disappointment and loss of value when you miss the port. Old boat. Tender ports will be missed due to even the slightes storm or winds due to safety reasons. They are deceptive. Plausible Ignorance is their motto. Website is useless. Customer Service line is poorly trained. Would love to sit down with the CEO in the park cafe and share a hard as rock stale cookie and a slice of cold pizza. Ask him if it is worth $1000 per person. The comic performed at 11:30 pm on the last day of the cruise only ... too late. Missed the parade of flags because it was too crowded. Pay for room service. Pay for coke. Pay for bottled water. Ice cream tasted like cardboard. Poor value. Read Less

Something has definately changed with RC and not for the better. I have been loyal to royal however, the last few cruises with them have been terrible. My last cruise happened to be my very first in carnival and unfortunately I spent this cruise wishing I was back on the carnival ship. Our stateroom was fine, had an inside room which we prefer. Asked for an extension cord and extra pillows qnd they were provided right away. The bathroom though, is the smallest I have ever seen on a ship before. The purpose for this cruise was a burial at sea for my father. We had prior permission from RC and were told to confirm details once in ship, which we tried to do. First trip to guest services, we met a lovely attendant who took our info and assured us an officer would be in contact later that day with the arrangements. That dudnt happen. 2nd trip to guest services, had to explain the whole thing over again and then said we could have the service anytime that day between 9am and 6pm., we chose 11am. 3rd trip to guest services, with my fathers cremains in tote, had to wait nearly an hour because they were in the middle of a guest services meeting. Seems like they either could have changed their meeting time or just informed us the meeting times so as we wouldnt interrupt them. But neither of those things happened, so here we are waiting for an hour, on christmas day, to bury my father at sea. We had a small ceremony and the officer called our coordinates to the captain who made a very nice certificate with the coordinates on it and it was signed by the captain himself. I must say that was unexpected and a very nice touch! Much appreciated! The dinner service in main dining room was terrible, food was cold and tasteless and not much variety. It seemed like they were a bit overwhelmed the first night, I had to duck and cover most of the time to avoid being hit by reaching elbows. We ate there 2 nights and in the windjammer the last 2 nights. Windjammer was much better. I do have to say that I found the cruise director cruisin susan to be very lackluster and boring. Didnt find her funny nor entertaining at all. I watched the love and marriage show which is usually very funny, but this time around, it was a snooze fest. She really made me miss my cruise director from carnival, Alex was the best cruise director I have ever seen. She could learn a few things from him. I'm ready to book my next cruise but not feeling so loyal to royal any longer as things have been on a steady decline. For me this cruise was a swing and a miss! Read Less

We did the three-night Enchantment cruise right before Christmas and we had a lovely time. We’ve been on the Enchantment several times before, as we are local to Florida. It is a quick, easy trip. The ship is still in great shape and after we were onboard, we did not have any problems with our sail (more on check-in procedures later). I would recommend this ship to anyone new or experienced with cruising. We had great service in the MDR and the waiters did their best to move along the long dinners for our children. We had great service in the Windjammer on the first day! We had several waiters ask to grab us drinks!! In over 15 years, and over 15 cruises, I’ve never been served a drink in the Windjammer. It was a pleasant and wonderful surprise. The kids club was great and our daughter asked to attend each night. The Diamond Lounge had great service from Courtney, thank you! We opted for Atlantis in Nassau to see the Christmas decorations. We decided to take the local water taxi for $4 each. Once we made the mistake, I remembered we made this mistake several years ago. The water taxi is slow and the “guide” is very, very, very, very loud during his “tour.” We were just looking for a cheap activity. We won’t do this again. The real taxi is the same ($4 per person) and is a lot less painful. Or, we should have just gone to Cable Beach on the #10 bus, which is always a good time. We love Coco Cay. The additions are coming along nicely. Although, I’m not sure how they are going to make their May 2019 deadline. The waterpark is far from complete. We noticed signs for the hotair balloon rides to begin in December, 2018… but the balloon was nowhere in sight. We opted for the snorkel and sandbar excursion (offered by RCI, with local vendor). The snorkeling was great; the snorkel guide was very knowledgeable. But, the best part was the sandbar. The water was relaxing and beautiful! If you are thinking about this Coco Cay excursion, you can search YouTube for videos and they also have a facebook page. I would recommend this excursion to anyone, families, singles, anyone. It was great and only took about 2 hours. We were back in time for lunch. Which reminds me, Coco Cay has really improved their lunch buffet. It is the same BBQ as always, but the food is great and they added some great selections too. Well done! The casino onboard was fun and the nice low minimum of $5 at the craps pit was a nice surprise. I also visted the spa onboard and my treatment was just ok... but nice to be in the spa none-the-less. I would wait to book once onboard, as there were lots of specials. The only complaint I have was the “expedited” check-in procedure at Port Canaveral. I would not waste your time checking in online, printing your set sail pass, and loading your security pictures. If you choose to still do all this….. I would simply show up and ask to be in the normal, upstairs, (not “expedited” check-in line in port). Silly me, I checked in, uploaded security pics, and printed all our documents. It was a waste of time. In the new, just started, “expedited” check-in procedure at Port Canaveral, you are herded into an “expedited” line. Personally, I really like entering in the Diamond line. I was unable to and was herded with the rest of the bunch. The “expedited” technology is NOT ready for prime time. It was very dark in the “expedited” line, so there was MUCH difficulty scanning our documents and taking our pictures (never mind I had already done this at home when I checked in online before the cruise). When I complained that I had already uploaded our pictures (and could see them in the system), it was explained the photos needed to be rotated and retaken. There is not a rotate feature when you upload your own photo. As I said, the technology is not quite there yet. Instead of being greeted by a nice person at the nice desks upstairs, we are just standing around in the “expedited” area, waiting for our documents to be uploaded property in the dim room. It was explained this was a very new procedure when I complained several times. We were not given our Sea Pass cards. It was explained we would get our Sea Pass cards in our cabin when it was available. I thought this was a huge inconvenience for the “expedited” line. I always like to have my Sea Pass card stamped with a hole punch for my bracelet. Therefore, this was not possible in the “expedited” line. Then, we were given a “gold pass” so that we could by-pass the check-in line and enter right on to the boat (this proved NOT to be the case, as we ended up passing everyone else was in the normal, fast check-in line upstairs). Since we didn’t have Sea Pass cards, we were hassled for having papers and two different people asked us for our “gold pass.” Another way this new procedure is not ready yet. Then, one of our children’s picture did not appear when trying to board the boat, even though I uploaded it several days before, and it was just retaken moments ago. They wanted us to leave our child while they sorted it out, which was asinine to leave a five year old. Although I had been very vocal thus far, this is where my husband drew the line and started to get angry. We asked for Security and it got sorted out quickly thereafter. Bottom line… if anyone encourages you to enter the “expedited” check-in line, ask to just proceed upstairs to the normal, old fashion check-in. You will save yourself a heap of time and frustration and you won’t have to wait for your Sea Pass card. Thank you for letting me vent. If I saved at least one family this frustration, I’ll be happy. But, I am happy to report, surprisingly, our Sea Pass cards were in our cabin several hours later… without a hole punch, but there none-the-less. Allow yourself plenty of time when disembarking, as the line took about an hour, unless your off the boat very, very early. Read Less

We were originally booked on Majesty OTS and when Royal moved her to Tampa we were placed on Enchantment OTS and told there would be a cost to move with the ship so we decided to check her out. We missed the fact that there was no C & A Top Tier Party. Also no champagne at the Captain's welcome. The weather was bad so we missed Coco Cay and we were told that we could not go there on our sea day since there was another ship calling there. However I have been on more than one cruise where more than one ship has called at Coco Cay at the same time. We did the Rainbow Reef snorkel in Nassau and it was great! The service was good both in the dinning room, windjammer, and at the bars. We did find that many of the tables in the lounges needed to be better wiped down, most were sticky around the edges and underneath. We have another trip on her because of the ship change and hopefully things will be better. Read Less

This was our 3rd Royal Caribbean cruise and our second onboard this ship - our maiden cruise was onboard this ship and it was great. 3 years later the ship is old and worn. First issue was the weather, it was windy and cold when we left Cape Canaveral and didn't much improve over the next 3 days, so we missed the CocoCay stop. I understand this is not something RC controls and it's really a minor factor in this review. Lesson learned... don't book eastern Caribbean in December. WE selected "My Time" dining based on experience with it on a Princess cruise, however it's not really the same. What it allows you to do is change dinner reservations during the cruise, assuming what you want is available. Otherwise you are pushed to he side and seated as the cruise decides. Another lesson learned. The ship itself is tired and worn with all panels lifting away. The dinner menu is pretty much uninspired and food quality is OK. The absolute worst part was our cabin, 8150, it's below the Solarium pool deck and under a crew work area. We received a free upgrade to a junior suite and thought "good deal". As momma told me "there's no such thing as a free lunch". This has to be the noisiest room on the ship. We were kept awake all night on the first night with bumps, thuds, and metal-on-metal scraping over us starting about 2am. I mentioned it to our attendant and he told us to call "O" and complain. On the second night it started up again and was told they would investigate. It stopped about 3:30am. On the 3rd night it started again about 2am and once again I called. It stopped about 3 am. Tee next morning I went to the Guest desk and lodged a formal complaint. They gave me a 25% credit off this fare for use on another RC cruise (should have been 50-75%. I was assured that they would close the work area during our final night to stop the noise. Actually it did stay quiet until about 4 am, then it started up again. However, that brought to light another problem... a repeated creaking sound over the bed area. Hard to describe, but I thought my wife was wheezing. Turns out with all the other noises, this one was masked. Anyway, 4 sleepless nights and we're debating whether another RC cruise is worth the gamble. Read Less

We went with brother and his wife who usually cruise Carnival. We have been trying to get them onto RC for several years. Well this was not a ship for first impressions. The staff tried, but with the limited resources, they couldn't make up for the many deficiencies. The ship is very dated, with a lot of rust and dirt (even the fake plants in the solarium were very dirty & dusty. Looked like they hadnt been cleaned in years. They were working on the main pool deck and rails (sanding) every day. blocking off available chairs, even on sea days. We had a suite, so sufficient room except there are only 2 electrical outlets in the entire suite. Very inadequate for cell phones, tablet, coffee maker, hair dryer (and we bring a string of mini-lights for Christmas cruises. Security kept one bag as I had a multi-outlet plug in it which they kept and said that maintenance would provide one that had been tested by them. Never received. They didnt tell me until I asked the room attendant and she said that all luggage had been delivered and to go to deck one security. No lobster offered in main dining room, even on formal night. It seems every cruise they offer less and less. We are Diamond status and have begun trying other cruise lines, last year we did Princess and enjoyed very much. I just booked one for February on MSC, especially with their status match program. Brother and his wife were very disappointed with their balcony cabin also. Not a good first impression. Read Less

My past sailing experience was on Liberty of the Seas, a larger ship. The service with Royal Caribbean is always top notch. They really do put the passenger first. There was a nice variety of activities. Enchantment is a smaller ship so expect everything else to be smaller as well. Smaller arcade, gym, and other shop amenities. My ocean view cabin was nice. Our steward kept the room tidy and would do anything I asked. He created towel animals for us daily. Windjammer buffet was a smidge disappointing but I also do t generally eat buffet style food but didn’t want to use he main dining room for breakfast and lunch. Dinner in the main dining room was nice. Wasn’t alway pleased with my entree but I’d still give it 5 stars for service and effort. I’d say get a few of the appetizers and extra desserts. Yum! They did have a nice selection. I do suggest getting in the porter line on disembark day, it goes way faster. Totally worth a tip of a few dollars. Do not schedule and pay for an airport transfer if your flight is before 1pm. Chances are slim that you’ll make it on time. Speaking from experience. 12pm flight but didn’t arrive to airport till 12pm. Excursions are a little pricey for the Bahamas cruise. Wait for Black Friday sakes if possible. Save yourself the headache. In all, I give enchantment 4 stars. Read Less

This cruise was with my siblings for my 50th birthday. The staff was awesome and so was the food. We enjoyed just sitting in the bars or playing the many trivia games that were offered. I couldn't have asked for a better trip. We rented a cabana on cocoa cay and had a great time. We did not do any shore excursions in Nassau. The ship is older and smaller but I found it to be very enjoyable. I would defiantly cruise on the Enchantment again. The food was excellent even in the Windjammer which I know can be questionable at times. I was very excited to see a stir fry station one night. It was fresh and delicious. We met some great people and Nicola did an awesome job keeping everyone excited and engaged in the games that were offered. This was exactly the kind of trip I was hoping for to celebrate my birthday. Read Less

Best crew i've experienced. Friendly and outgoing. Enjoyed food and entertainment. Nice service. I look forward to trying royal caribbean's largest ships. Solarium was a highlight of our cruise if you don't want the noise and crowds of main pool. Great cafe there. Made to order sandwiches and salads. Buffet good, but breakfast and lunch same each day. Embarkation day you hear announcements saying if your done eating, get out. Lol. Too small for crowd waiting to eat. Dining room menu stayed the same with slight changes nightly. service good. Enjoyed entertainment throughout the ship. Pleasantly surprised. Coco cay will soon be great. Completely being redone. Wave pool, fresh water pools. Adult only beach. Water slides. Balloon rides. New restaurants and bars. Royal caribbean has a nice app. Zoom internet is fastest on the ocean. You can stream movies so fast. Only thing is i wish there were more activities. Read Less

I was really looking forward to our Thanksgiving weekend cruise. Having been a loyal Carnival cruiser, we decided to switch it up and go with a smaller Royal ship. Big mistake! We are FREQUENT cruisers and have been on 25+ cruises so I know my way around a ship. This was by far the WORST. Everything from the cabin to the service was a disaster, and most of the food was dangerously under-cooked or inedible. The entertainment was barely noticeable and everyone seemed miserable working there-no smiling faces at all. The cruise director was barely visible and the staff was unorganized at best. The activities on the ship consisted of bingo and karaoke and that's about it really. The ship's photographers actually took many pictures of us where we had our eyes closed! The waiters forgot what we ordered and then said our desserts were coming even though we hadn't ordered any. Fake seafood in the ceviche---COME ON!!!! Lasagna tasted like it had some type of meat paste and like it came from a can of Chef Boyardee. Ports of call in the Bahamas were good, but there were no announcements that we heard as to when we could actually get off the ship. When diembarking there was no one to assist guests with where they were going and many people were confused. This is a real Skipper Gilligan! Read Less

First time on Royal Caribbean, last min deal. After extensively reading of reviews we new what it expect from a older smaller ship. Enjoyed the stops along with the food and Service in the MDR. The buffet layout was odd but worked fine after a couple of trips around it. Would like to have seen the silverware at the table and not by the plates, made it difficult if you did not have pockets. We took issue with a couple of items. Royal Caribbean web site after you are booked is not very helpful along with difficulties navigating to get better information. Our biggest concern was the volume music was played threw out the ship. It was impossible to have a conversation when the music was being played. It would be nice to be able to check your bill in your state room on the TV as other cruise lines have available. Read Less
