This was my first cruise so I didn't have any expectations. Upon arriving the staff was very inviting and accommodating. Luggage was brought to our room at a decent time, room was clean and neat. We immediately went to the Windjammer, and the food was very bland, not good at all! I have seen reviews where people spoke of the food not being good, I thought they were just being extra. But no, the food is not good. We were forcing ourselves to eat the food just so we can avoid the seasickness, because they didn't have any other food options other than chops grille. So if you are looking for good food, this will not be it. We actually had to get off the boat just to get some good seasoned food! however, the last night we ate at the dining hall and the food THAT night was amazing! Everything was cooked to perfection. I guess they put effort in it because it was the last night of the cruise. We were suppose to go to cococay, but that was cancelled due to rough waters. We were able to get off the boat that night and venture on to the island, and we had the time of our lives!! The boat had activities but none too exciting. It was plenty of times we just stood around bored because there was nothing to do. I feel like this cruise ship is geared towards middle age + people. This is a smaller boat so there wasn't as many shops or activities anyway. Again, the staff was amazing though!!! Wifi was expensive and didn't work continuously. Kept losing connection throughout the trip. The inside style of the ship was very old fashion. Read Less

Food and restaurant service were sub par. I know this is a short cruise but my wife registered prior as a vegetarian and also asked for a birthday cake on our first night (my bday). Both were ignored. When a cake arrived on the last night, they sang to the wrong person at our table. There were four of us so you had a 50/50 chance at which guy had the birthday. I would think you would know us by day 3. My wife sent back a fish dish that looked like a 12 year old put it together from a frozen dinner. My steak was passible 2 of 3 evenings. I sent one back. Most of the sides were cold when served. Ship felt neglected in many basic maintenance ways. The Schooner lounge had several pictures that were lit by flickering lights. No one fixed them the entire time we were aboard. The morning of our departure, someone had finally fixed them. A video is worth more than I can say: https://youtu.be/g5Ky4Z1zZT0 Coco Cay was canceled due to rough weather. That is understandable but in addition the decks were closed as well. The entire guest compliment forced to stay indoors all day was challenging. I would have expected contingency planning but there seemed to be none. I would not take this ship/trip again. In the end, we made our own fun but looking back, it wasn't worth the cost. Read Less

We chose Enchantment of the Seas because my children had never been on a cruise and thought this would be a good place to start. We had two adjoining cabins to have a bit more space. The balcony was nice, however, our weather was so bad we barely had a chance to use it. The kids activities were closed the entire trip, and the upper decks and pools were closed 90% of the time. We missed Cococay and spent that day at sea. The bathroom in our cabin was rusty, food was mediocre and having a GI issue was horrible....especially not being able to find our luggage the day of disembarkment, as nobody bothered to tell us it would be wrapped in plastic in the third 'bay" back in the corner. Our room was quiet, even though we were near the Centrum and we did enjoy the dance/singing show! My kids liked the idea of cruising, however, we won't be back to Royal Caribbean any time soon. We (Vicki and Steve) are Diamond C & A members, Vicki is 58 and I am 60. This was our 25 cruise with Royal Caribbean. We booked this 3 night cause to extend our Florida stay over New Years. It was a bit different because we had just sailed on the Enchantment on it’s 10/30/17 sailing. Between these two sailings, the ship had undergone a two dry dock. This being said it is difficult not to compare the two cruises. We had enjoyed both cruises. Our 10/17 cruise was excellent. We can not think of any negatives. On this cruise even with poor weather the staff was great and we enjoyed the ship activities. The issue was in the state of our staterooms. On our 10/17 cruise we had an Aft JS 8670. It was fine. A little worn, but the ship is getting older. This cruise we had another Aft JS, but 7666. This cabin is a disaster. It has a smaller cabin size, but that is offset by a walk-in closet and a huge aft balcony. This issue is the condition of this stateroom. The furniture looked as if they had found it at my college apartment after years of abuse forty years ago. The cabinet with the refrigerator has broken and would not stay closes. The gate between the balcony next to ours was rusted through, so it just swung back and forth. The entire railing is just rusting away. The maintenance crew was great and roped it down. The main issue was that the toilet had a mind of it’s own. Sometimes it might flush, but most times it would take between one minute to 30 minutes to flush. We ended up giving up on it and used the public restrooms. We like the Enchantment and this was our third cruise on her. The crew is great and it is a great ship for a short cruise. My concern is that the ship had just come out of dry dock and this cabins issues were not addressed. When will it go into dry dock again? Our advise is to stay away from cabin 7666 We have two cruises booked on the Anthem this coming fall and are excited about being on a newer ship. Still loyal to Royal. Read Less

We decided to do this cruise with another couple that had sailed with RC on other occasions. This was my first cruise and I was beyond excited! We left from Miami on a Tuesday. First night out the seas were rough and I almost stepped into a pile of vomit in the ladies room. Second day, our visit to CocoCay was cancelled due to foul weather. The winds were so bad that we couldn't even sit out on deck that day. There were a lot of bored people just sitting in the lounge, staring out into space. That night was the "formal" dinner. We had brought the appropriate clothing (dresses, heels, jackets, dress pants) but the majority of the people came in wearing jeans, Crocs, t-shirts, etc). Why bother to have a formal night if you're not going to enforce the dress code? I would have preferred to leave my dress at home in exchange for warmer clothes! Next day was Nassau. We had a day pass to a local resort hotel (Colonial Hilton - very nice). Weather was partly cloudy and windy; my friend was wearing a down jacket over her bikini. We made the best of it, had a nice lunch and some cocktails. The weather can't be controlled, and would have enjoyed this trip much more had Mother Nature cooperated. Here are few of our observations: - The ship is older, but with the exception of a few things, it was well maintained. - The food was mediocre, nothing special. It was on par with Applebee's or Chili's. I ordered a fish/scallop/shrimp dish one night and it looked like a kids meal. Tasted like Mrs. Paul's had cooked it. - I had noted on our profile that it was my husband's birthday. They forgot to bring a cake but did it on the next night instead. At that point they came over and sang to ME!! - There were kids in the nightclub and after their curfew. - The hot tub was constantly occupied by children; it would have been nice to have one just for adults. - Bartenders in the lounge in the main reception area were snooty and unfriendly. I felt like I was bothering them when I asked for a drink. - On the day we docked, we were herded out like cattle. It was obvious they wanted us off that boat ASAP. - We were charged $50 for deck towels that we had returned. My husband had to get in line on the day of our departure to get this resolved. Needless to say, there were many other people in line with the same issue. We did pay the extra for the drink package and that was well worth the money. The servers were right on top of refilling the cocktails, that's for sure! (Good way to bulk up the gratuity.) Our friends that went with us were even more disappointed than I was. Would I go on another cruise? Yes, but I would choose another cruise line. Read Less

I am loyal to the RC brand and have had overwhelmingly positive experiences up until the 2017-2018 New Years cruise on the Enchantment. And it wasn't just New Years Eve, it was the entire cruise The average wait time for a drink (time from bar arrival to order to delivery to receipt sign) was TWENTY minutes, even longer if you sat and ordered from wait staff. And even LONGER on New Years Eve. Every single passenger was complaining, but the bar staff was indifferent and rude. I've never experienced such a lack of engagement and passion from service staff on any other RC ship. On the positive side, the entertainment was some of the best I've experienced! The comedian was funny, both in his family and adult shows. We enjoyed the Broadway and Movie review shows, for both the talented singers and dancers. One female lead sings Whitney Houston and doesn't miss a note! Read Less

Staff at the Customer Service desk were slow and not very kind. But the Customer Services Director was agressive and indifferent to a report we made concerning a passenger who verbally attacked us for being gay. Nothing serious happened but we were very disappointed by the Customer Services' management ability to deal with an unprovoked and unacceptable agression that made us feel uncomfortable and at risk. Having said that, the food was very good. Drinks and excursions were a bit pricey but OK. The Enchantment is not a new ship but it is well kept and maintained. We appreciated the time spent in the ports of call, except Cococay which is barely an island. Royal Caribbean does seem to have the best docking spots in the ports we visited, and gives plenty of time to explore at leisure. The entertainment on board was not great but OK. The staterooms were very clean and comfortable. Read Less

The Enchantment of the Seas is a beautiful ship. Everything was very clean and organized. our room was larger than expected. The amenities were fantastic. So many activities going on. They had a little for everyone. We cruised with a teenage son and a daughter in her 20's, everyone had the best of times. The staff aboard are top notch and answered all questions respectfully no matter how trivial and the dining experience was 5 star. We enjoyed the comedian, shows, shopping, casino and just being able to relax. The ports of call were tremendous and if you have the opportunity to visit Coco Cay I would highly suggest it. The beautiful Blue waters are breathtaking. The Locals are amazing. You can actually see Iguanas living in their natural habitat. We are currently figuring out when our next cruise will be. Everything was effortless and stress free the way a true vacation should be! Read Less

My husband and I have taken this cruise for the first time with the one and a half year toddler. Duration of 4 nights was perfect for the first time cruise. Yes the boat is not as modern or as large as the newer ones but for the price, we basically have no complaints. Everything was great. We were thoroughly pleased! The service was awesome. Really enjoyed the restaurants they were great. Our experience in My Fair Lady was wonderful. The food was great and was served with pleasure. We felt as though we were royalty. We were pleased to have the same servers each night. (Ruperto and Mohammad) They were efficient, friendly and met our needs. High chair for our son was ready when we arrived which surprised us. Laura, Dining Room Manager, was everywhere making sure there were no issues and was very helpful for our son’s meals. Also if you haven't done the sit down breakfast...you need to...I highly recommend My Fair Lady for breakfast too. The Windjammer was also great, we had lunch there and were always pleased. It was clean and well organized, especially with the number of guest they were serving. We met the director of the Windjammer, Cumhur from Turkey was very kind and passionate about his job. Lunch on the Coco Cay Island was good also over all. The Park Cafe also has lighter/healthier choices. Service has always been excellent. Our first stop Key West was excellent. Wish we would stay more there. Second stop Nassau was not a great stop, maybe we were disappointed because of the rainy weather. Not to do much things, went to Atlantis Hotel and after the Paradise Island beach but couldn’t swim due to the cold sea. Our favorite port was third day stop, Coco Cay. This was the first time we were able to go ashore. It is awesome. It is incredibly well organized, has beautiful beaches and crystal clear warm water. Worth the whole trip. Everyone from Captain Angel down has a deep passion for their ship. It is reflected in the way passengers are treated. The ship is not glamorous, but is clean, well maintained and comfortable. Michelle the cruise director was "the best”. She was very funny. The entertainment was good. Christmas party was amazing. We had amazing time. The comedians were funny and the Parade of Flags impressive. The staterooms have always been clean, no "septic smells" AC worked fine and the bed was adequate. The only con was the size of the interior cabin. It was pretty small. We had one and a half years old toddler, when his baby crib put in the middle of the cabin, there were no space in the room even a step size, however, it was still ok. Our housekeeper Juan was very very good. Embarkation and disembarkation were easy. Both have gone smoothly. In summary, as a 4 star cruise, Enchantment is a great value, accommodating schedule, always-great service, and good food, clean and comfortable. Would recommend it highly and will probably cruise it again. Its a great cruise for families and young couples with baby/child. Our first cruise was a wonderful experience and we have fallen in love with it. Thank you for providing us with this experience. We would definitely choose this ship again. Read Less
