Well Worth the Trip

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on AmaPrima

We started to plan a visit to family in Spain and ended up with a river cruise with add-on Switzerland option. This was our first river cruise (both have done large ships) and we loved it !!! The ship is not as long & big as Viking and others (less people) and the service was excellent. Cabins were serviced 3-4 times a day, laundry service was prompt and returned the same day, meals . . . . oh ...

We were so impressed with the quality of service, dining and cabin accommodations on this trip. We decided this was the best way for us to see the best of Europe so we chose Ama for their cuisine and overall service recommendation. We were not disappointed. We started in Budapest, Hungary then sailed through Slovakia, Austria, Germany, and ended in the Netherlands with the final destination ...

A very difficult trip

First ever river cruise, so based on reviews we chose AMA. The ship was very nice and checkin was very easy. We were surprised at age of clientele quite geriatric, we are in mid 60's but quite active. The cruise had some challenges we were delayed through no fault of AMA because of an accident which put us about 3 days behind on a 14 day cruise, we caught up about day 12. So for the first number ...

We were attending a cousin's wedding in Switzerland and wanted to combine a river cruise with our trip. We were certainly not disappointed! I evaluated several cruise lines and finally decided on AmaWaterways. From the moment of embarking to disembarking, the captain, Ron, the cruise manager, Csaba, the hotel manager, Gemma, the maitre'd, Alen, the various waiters, the housecleaning crew, ...

When trying to decide which cruise line and river to choose for our first river cruise we talked to several seasoned travelers/agents and they recommended AmaWaterways along with the Rhine River and boy were they right on both counts. The Rhine River was a special place that was a split between some commercial/industrial activity to scenic spots that my wife and I had only dreamed about. It ...

We choose AmaWaterways for our first river cruise to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. We sailed from Amsterdam to Basel with a tour extension of 2 days in Lucern and 2 days in Zurich. We have cruised many of the large ships but Ama was the best cruise ever. Relaxing and the best service and food of any ship. We were in cabin 217. Our room was kept spotless and all ship personnel could ...

This was our first river cruise. It was luxurious in all the right ways. Ama gave us features that we needed and used, without others (like climbing walls) that we haven't used on ocean cruises. We would love to take another cruise with this line again. The staff were wonderful. We felt like AmaWaterways had selected highly trained people who got along well, which makes a difference in the ...

We have never been on a cruise of any kind and chose AMA based on the recommendation of a friend/travel agent. We were looking for a ship with a small number of passengers and a solid reputation. AMA is apparently known for the food onboard and bundled activities - both did not disappoint. The staff on board were all fantastic and well trained in customer service. Extra effort was made by all ...

Our first river cruise, but not our last

We took the Amawaterways Danube River cruise from Prague to Budapest. After a three day visit to Prague, we boarded the ship in Vilshofen for a 6 night trip, followed by a one night stay in Budapest. Most of the excursions were included and had a wide choice of difficulty to accommodate every passenger. The few extra trips that we took were well worth the money as well. All of the tour guides ...

After researching options for a river cruise in Europe decided to pursue Amawaterways. I was not disappointed. The whole experience was wonderful. The cabin was comfortable and spacious. The staff was very friendly. The service and the food were incredible. While not heavy on night entertainment, there was music on the lounge at night and during the afternoon and local artists performed ...
