Too many people, too little space

First, good things. The ship is pretty new and in very good shape. Stateroom was pretty good - generous size, plenty of storage. Embarkation procedure was pretty smooth. Now, the bad stuff. The ship's public areas are way too small for the crowd. Long wait at the dining room; hard to find table at the Windjammer buffet; "standing room only" at the swimming pools and whirlpools and no ...

OK cruise but can do better

The ship is new and in vey good shape. The cabin (we had a balcony cabin on 11th deck) was of pretty generous size (larger than similar cabins on Princess or Norwegian, close to size of those on Holland America or Celebrity). But the public areas are definitely not adequate for the size of the ship and number of people. Crowds everywhere. An hour wait for the dining room table. Almost ...

Not the most relaxing vacation

It often felt like we were cattle instead of on vacation. Granted, it WAS fourth of July week so the ship was to capacity. The lines were incredibly long for any of the things that made the ship special like Ripcord, Northstar, bumper cars, flow rider, rock wall. We only got to do bumper cars after an hour wait. It didn't matter if we had a reservation or not at the main dining rooms, we still had ...

Our grandson needed a gluten free diet and the whole wait staff were fabulous.

We chose this cruise because there was a lot of things for the kids to do. The entire wait staff was wonderful in creating menus for our grandson that needed gluten free meals. Every night in the main dining room, there was special food for him. I believe the entire wait staff went out of their way to accommodate him. Our wait staff was the BEST!! We looked forward to dinner every night just ...

Canada/New England Summer cruise

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

Frankly, we were both tired of the hot, humid Caribbean cruises, and this was a nice alternative. The weather was Great, cool, fairly dry and really nice, highs maybe 75 degrees out. Embarkation was quick and proficient, took us no time at all, though it did take awhile for our bags to reach the room. We booked a junior spa suite, and it was very nice, roomy, loved the separate baths, and the ...

Very disappointed, poor communications and IT, constantly watching my account

The only redeeming part of the cruise was how polite and courteous the staff was, especially in customer service. They had constantly long lines all day long. Also. the variety and quality of the food in the Windjammer buffet was great. This was the most disappointing cruise I have ever taken. The cruise would have been much better if I didn't have to worry about constantly monitoring my ...

We chose this cruise because of itinerary. Bar Harbour, Maine was a nice quaint town. Had a lovely lunch and visited some charming shops. Got robbed of a day in Halifax. Booked Hop on Hop off Bus tour. Had to wait 1 1/2 hours for bus in a warm hanger type building. Staff was very unorganized. Blamed everything on traffic. Once on bus, which was not air conditioned, what should have been a 90 ...

Great Time on 5 Day Cruise

We took this cruise because of the ports, length and sailing out of the New York area. This was a family trip, as our boys are getting older and have a life of their own and my wife's parents are getting older, it was important we take a trip all three generations could enjoy, and I am happy to say our trip exceeded our expectations. My wife and I are north of 50, our boys are 21 and 24, and my ...

Not one of Royal Caribbean's best

I’ve had several past cruises with Royal Caribbean to compare this one to. With 1 exception (order from Chops) the food was 3.5 stars at best where in the past I rated main dining at 4.5 to 5 stars. While it is true the ship’s cooks have to prepare mass quantities of food at a time, most of my past cruises the quality was not sacrificed as it was here. Also in the café promenade, simple ham or ...
