A Frustrating Odyssey Aboard Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

**Rating: ★ ☆ ☆☆ (1/5)** My recent journey on Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas left me with a mix of emotions, primarily disappointment and frustration. Despite the promise of a luxurious cruise vacation, a series of unfavorable experiences overshadowed the few bright spots. **Room Internet:** One of the most glaring issues was the room internet, which was virtually unusable. In today's ...

Nothing but irritation

Ive been on 12 cruises and This was the worst cruise I've ever been. 1. They ask you to leave the table after you eat at the buffet. 2. No food avaliable after you get back from excursions, only pizza and mini sandwiches. 3. All movies are $12.00 on TV and only 5-10 choices. No TV channels but news. 4. No swimming areas for babies or toddlers. 5. Very little sitting and they close ...

Alaska is amazing…the ship is not.

The food is terrible. Not only that, but they constantly ask you how the food is. If you say anything other than good, the Food Mafia (or so if felt) shows up to interrogate you. Seriously, we were chased down the hall for more information about what exactly was wrong with completely flavorless mashed potatoes. They’ll offer to give you a different meal, but that will be horrible too. For example, ...

Love the Quantum and all it offers!

Booked an Alaska cruise without knowing much about the ship, but we absolutely loved the Quantum. Was our second Royal cruise. The first was on the Harmony, which we weren’t fond of. The Quantum is smaller, but has everything one could want on a cruise! It’s a beautiful ship and appeared well maintained. The service and food were excellent, with staff members who were kind and hard working. Loved ...

Nice Alaska cruise, not a glacier cruise

Booked Quantum for AK glacier cruise. Unfortunately didn’t read post about ship not being able to get near glacier. Sailed into Endocot arm and turned around before glacier. Ship is nice, RCI food quality has declined significantly since Feb menu changes. The production shows, Starwater, sonic odyssey are both very strange with no real plot. Northstar broken entire cruise. Icy strait point was ...

Lots of cutbacks, not enough port time

We decided to take our adult children and our son's family on an Alaskan cruise to celebrate our 35th anniversary and a milestone birthday for my wife. Because our son has an almost 4 year old daughter, we decided on the Quantum because of the activities and kids program. The first disappointment came with removing Skagway and replacing it with Icy Point. When our cabins were assigned, we ...

Not what they used to be!

Start with the Pros: Room attendants were great. If they had not said service was only once a day we would have not known. Now the cons: * Main dining - my time dining; 1st half of the trip we had bad service due too the servers having several large groups hogging all their attention. We asked for another table and got better service. * Chicken briani was horrible. The Naan was a ...

Really bad experience from day one.

The first problem we had started before we got on the ship. Come to find out, if you don't choose your balcony, but let them do it, you will probably get a view of a lifeboat. That was not mentioned in the booking process. NEXT up, they deleted Skagway from the itinerary long long before we signed up, but when we booked it was still listed - when they already knew that was not going to be ...

This was a bucket list cruise for us. We went with a group of 17 family members. 1st- the ship itself was beautiful, clean, & easy to navigate. 2nd- 3-6 months out from the sail date, most excursions were completely book. 3rd- the staff for the most part was nice, however most were new to working on cruise ships and had a very difficult time being able to understand what we were ...

Why did we have to get off the ship to get a decent cup of coffee????

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Quantum of the Seas

We have been on many, many cruises. Several with Royal Caribbean. Quantum of the Seas would have to be the worst. Firstly the staff are polite, and well trained, although not seemingly 'as friendly' as they used to be. Perhaps they find Australians a bit difficult? Not sure, because I consider most Aussies to be laid-back. Most of the onboard entertainment during the day, of which there is very ...
