Loved Budapest, liked having a few days to get our sleep patterns on track with the time change. We added on Prague at the end of the cruise and it was a beautiful city, a highlight of our trip. We did this cruise for our 30th wedding anniversary and met another couple that were there for their anniversary...what are the odds of meeting someone who was from our area that was celebrating exactly ...
We chose Avalon because of four previous, wonderful experiences with the Globus group. Because of low water on the Danube we had to embark on the Panarama for one day and then transition to the Expression for the remainder of the cruise. Both the embarkation and disembarkation went extremely well. The Captain was gracious, approachable and exhibited confidence in what he and his crew were ...

Curise director very experient and willing to help, he did a great work.

We embarked in Budapest after 2 nights in a First class hotel Sofitel, excellent breakfasts
The cabin was decent as well as the bathroom which was small but well designed (which was not always the case in other ships)
Crew very nice, dining excellent. many choices of food, good wines and biers
Crew director was superb ( he had to rescheduled 3 days of the cruise as there was not enough ...
Our travel agent recommended this trip. A river cruise had long been on my bucket list and this seemed like the perfect timing: both hubby and I had a milestone birthday this year. We loved the intimacy. With the small number of passengers, we got to know almost everyone. The food was outstanding as was the wait staff. We enjoyed the on-board entertainers and the well-organized shore tours. We ...
We had previously taken the Rhine river cruise a few years ago, and enjoyed it so much we decided to take the Danube cruise.
First our cruise director Tony is wonderful, most thoughtful and innovative. Handled difficult situations with ease. Would take another with him any time.
One downside, compared to our previous cruise there sere quite a few "extra" (non included) day trips which we ...
We chosed this cruse because our son wanted to take us He knew that I get sea sick so he thought that a riverboat cruse would be the best way to go
The people on the ship were just wonderful We tell everyone if you can go just do it The food was just delicious and the wait staff could not do enough for you In fact every person that worked on the ship went out of our their way to do anything ...
First things first - upgrade.
We just returned from a cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest and upgraded to P Suite and it was awesome. There was a lot more river cruising than I expected during the first week in particular and the suite was marvelous. Lying on your bed in the afternoon watching the world float by was great, and the room with french balcony was the best. Actually the whole Avalon ...
I wanted to see Prague,Vienna and Budapest. This trip had a 4 day land trip (prague) and 7 days sailing. Sailing was by far the best part!.
Prague was nice but of the 3 days we were there, there was only one included tour. Would have appreciated something included each day.
Smooth bus trip (4hours) to Nuremberg where you boarded the ship and departed that night for Roth and then bussed back ...
We choose this cruise for our 50th Anniversary and so glad we did. We cruised many times but this was only our second river cruise. We decided to go with Avalon because they had great reviews and we loved the itinerary. Avalon did an exceptional job from the time we got off the plane right up until we departed. After relectling on our trip my wife and I both agreed that this is right up there ...
