We have cruised with Carnival during our children's Spring Break for the last 4 years. We have always found this mode of travel to be cost effective and keep each person in our family happy. The itinerary for this trip caught my eye because we had visited most of the other ports that were available on other boats sailing during the time frame that we were available. The cabin that we chose (5319) ...
Cruised on 3/24-4/1 - Aruba, Bonaire, Grand Turks
Embarkation was very slow and we were told at 1255 we were late for our 1230-100 PM check in and may have to wait. We were late bc the shuttle from the airport that is run by Carnival was delayed! We had to wait at the airport for 2 hours for the bus to arrive. Somehow that is our fault.
Disembarkation was very disorganized, extremely ...
This ship had lots of ammenities like waterslides and rope courses. It left out of Orlando which is convenient. The room was very nice and the balcony was a good size. The dining was just OK. I never saw any fancy fruit or things of interest at the buffett. The restaurant was just alright. The food was not bad but nothing to be excited about.
If you have any food allergies, this is not ...
This little adventure marked our family's third cruise together... my wife and I have been on others without the kiddos, but this one was like a mini-reunion, with our in-laws and others joining. Sunshine was chosen due to fitting our schedule, as well as the itinerary. This one saw us visiting Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten. Collectively, we had been to two of the destinations ...
I chose this cruise because I thought it would be relaxing. However, the Thermal Suites [which I paid extra for] had nothing but warming loungers and sauna. Not worth the money. Second, it was extremely cold on the ship including the cabins. Third, my suite was clean but there was mold in the sink around the drain and there was a sewage smell in the hallway on 2 of the 8 days. Finally, the comedy ...
The bad-
Did not like the layout of the ship, hallways seemed smaller and more cramped then I'm use to. Low ceilings everywhere and not many open spots inside ship.
Impossible to get into a few comedy shows, lounge is just to small unless you want to wait 45 minutes.
The food was just very average and the wait staff in anytime dining seemed over worked and not very friendly.
The bed in ...
We had an amazing time on our first cruise. The ship was everything we hoped for. The food was great although we are not into fancy restaurants and ate at the buffet most nights. We did some of the entertainment activities and enjoyed those as well.
Our room was good, although being on Deck 2 meant that when there were big waves we heard "banging" as the water hit the hull. Our room was cleaned ...
It's our 3rd time on the Carnival Sunshine! We are avid Carnival cruisers but, we have started cruising with Princess and Norwegian just to see different ships and what they have to offer. Of all the Carnival ships, the Sunshine is amongst our favorite. The buffet area is completely different from all other Carnival ships and there are NEVER long lineups. Unlike most people, we go to the ...
We wanted to go on the Sunshine after reading about the revamp. The cruise was nice, however on the large screen TV not one music video was played, just pictures of fish. The DJ didn't play as long as on other ships. The layout of the ship was rather weird. It was rather a boring ship. Or, maybe we missed the time it was out to see with some fun. The staff and crew were warm, friendly and ...
we sailed, 2 couples in 2 cabins, on the 8 night 9 day cruise out of port canaveral. My 2 rating is for the ship only, not for rental car or port experience, but included in my review.
Rental car: budget, took forever to get shuttle to go, it was sooo busy. people super nice.
Port: quick and easy , we arrived in our scheduled time and kept going step by step and on ship in no time. ...
