I choose this cruise for myself (single 55 year old male), my 24 y/o son and 21 y/o daughter because it scheduled well around her college spring break and we could all handle a 10 night getaway...we flew in from three places Thursday morning February 21st (all excited and a bit apprehensive about such an immersive family experience) and flew back to our respective places Sunday March 3rd ...
From the first glimpse of the ship she looked elegant and beautiful, inside as well. Embarkment was fast and easy. The food was plentiful and good. I liked the Italian flair and I liked the varied choices. Our stateroom was very clean as was the whole ship. We had a balcony room that had great storage and a good size shower. Our room steward was so fun and friendly and kept our room ...
Overall, we have had a good cruise. Many minor things were not quite there to make it a great cruise.
Food:
Restaurant - “Black Crab” food quality got better as the cruise went along, though it was somewhat inconsistent. Our waiter was exceptionally polite and attentive.
Buffet – Food was ok, good selection, the pizza was very good. In the “rush hour”, drink service at the buffet was ...
We had a wonderful experience on the Divina. Our servers in the dining room were so fun and courteous that we only missed one night with them. They shared stories about their on board life as well a their homeland. We were I the Villa Rossi MDR and our servers were Cosme and Eric. The food choices some nights were difficult to make.
We booked a balcony Fantastica room and were pleasantly ...
This was my second time on the Divina and DH first time - largest ship we have sailed on to date. We chose the Divina for our winter escape for the itinerary and price - excellent value.
Embarkation- we arrived at the terminal at 1130 and after a short wait at security, breezed through the check in process and got to the waiting/preboarding area to the announcement that boarding would be ...
Family advised to try this cruise line. Everything went very smoothly getting on and off ship. The food was fantastic. Menu items included Mediterranean entries which made a great time to try something different and I was not disappointed. Wait staff were very attentive to all our needs from the customer service to Wilfred our cabin attendant. All the staff were very friendly. Wally in ...
This was our 32nd cruise on many different cruise lines and our 4th on the Divina. I have written positive reviews on the Divina in the past mentioning the nice ship, the interesting international diversity, the great entertainment and good food. However, I now feel compelled to write about a few issues that I hope get addressed and that other guests should know about.
The first issue that ...
The cruise started on a bad note because too many of the staff seemed tired and annoyed at serving the incoming guests. As a first impression this is not great. Then there are countless hidden costs, even when you purchase packages that are merchandised as all inclusive. Even the gym had many additional costs which was a shame. The spa was nice but they did some hard selling even somewhat pushing ...
After 10+ cruises we wanted to try MSC for the 1st time. The ship was configured differently than others we sailed on. Walking space was generally narrow, but there were nice cozy areas to sit. Cabins are like European hotel rooms - TINY ! Furthermore drawer and closet space was insufficient for our 2 average suitcases.
Dining was mediocre, on every front. Uninspired bland lukewarm dishes and ...
This was our second voyage on the Divina and our fourth MSC voyage so we knew what to expect. Unfortunately a number of minor issues, none of which would be a reason to forgo a trip, added up to a less-then-perfect cruise.
Let me expand. The bathroom lighting was poor, the cabin drawers are short, the captions on the TV ( a very small Samsung located in an awkward corner) did not work, the ...
