This was our 2nd cruise on Celebrity and on Reflection. We flew out of snowstorms in Mpls. into sunny and warm weather in Ft. Lauderdale the afternoon before the cruise. We booked a ride through the hotel (Best Western Cruise port) to the ship and also prepaid to have them meet us after the cruise to take us to the airport. It was a breeze! The hotel was fine for one night. Nothing fancy but convenient. We arrived at the dock and did not have much of a wait at all and before we knew it we were on board with our glasses of champagne, Big Smiles and heading to the pool! Nice to have carried on our swimsuits! We were on board early enough to enjoy some sun time before having lunch. Having been on The Reflection once before, we knew the layout of the ship and where "our cabin" is located (same cabin as before). Very easy ship to navigate. The ship is Always being cleaned. Our cabin was clean, spacious and had the extra bonus of having not just deck chairs, but loungers too. A shout out to Hasip - our room steward - who was exceptional! We had Anytime Dining. I tried to make daily reservations prior to boarding -- on Celebrity's website), but it did not "take" except for the first and last day of the cruise. We tried to get a specific time for the other nights so that we would get the same table and servers, but the maitre d' said to just come when ever we want. It was not as efficient as when we were on Reflection a year and a half ago in the Mediterranean. We were able to have the same time each night and after the first night we did not have to wait to be seated -- we were able to just go to our table. On this cruise we did, however, sit in the same area every night and had the same servers. A Big Thank You to our Wonderful Dining Staff -- Russel is Top Notch! "By one get one free" and Always Attentive. Diego helpful and attentive. Randy - Great "wine master". The food in the MDR was mostly very good. Portion sizes varied, so we usually both got an appetizer and one to share. During sea days we had lunch in the MDR. The portions seemed to be larger during lunchtime. We ate breakfast a few times in the MDR and the rest of the time in the buffet. It would be nice if they had some variations in the breakfast items in the MDR - like a special of the day. But the food was always good! We enjoyed the buffet for breakfast and the lunches on port days when the MDR was not open. Lots of variety in the buffet for both breakfast and lunch. Freshly made and good quality food. I enjoyed the ship made ice cream Everyday after lunch -- YUM! Even better with a special topping of Kahlua ;) We had the Premium Beverage package. It is really nice to be able to order almost anything you want and not worry about extra costs. There were a few wines that were higher, and of course any flights, etc. that are not included. We discovered a drink that became our pool favorite - French Caribbean. We found that the quality of drinks did not seem to be the same throughout the ship. We specified we had the Premium Drink package and to use Top Shelf liquor, but don't think they always did it, especially at the pool bars when the poolside staff took the order. When we went to the poolside bars, I think they did tend to give us the Top Shelf liquor. Issac is an exceptional bartender (near the Theater, and on the last sea day saw him at the pool bar). Of course, the Martini Bar is fun and always good! Miss it already! This cruise seemed to have a majority of elderly folks on board. I think Celebrity must have correlated the daily entertainment towards the majority. We really enjoyed the shows in the Theater that the Reflection Team and musicians put on. The guest entertainers were OK, but I would not pay to go see them at home. There did not seem to be a lot going on if you did not gamble or go to an art or jewelry show or auction. The pool music was always good. Service --- GREAT! The staff on Reflection is exceptional in their service. Always a smile and hello when you meet them on the stairs or hallways. Before dinner, the Martini Bar did get a bit busy and service was a bit slower -- but we weren't going anywhere :) Happily! Ports: We bought 2 Shore Excursions through Celebrity (when they had the really good sale). We did not do a shore excursion when we were in Ft. Lauderdale. We walked around quite a bit up and down the street where our hotel was located, just enjoying the warm weather. Once on-board we stayed on-board - enjoying Reflections hospitality :) Grand Cayman: We tendered here. Had a bit of rain that did not last long. We walked to a beach that was South of the cruise ship. A nice walk 2 12 miles (approx.) each way. It was warm and sunny. The beach was mostly for snorkeling, but there were some sunbathers as well. A bit rough to swim. We did a Tour of Cartagena, Columbia through Celebrity. It was interesting and our guide was very informative. A very enjoyable tour. It was both a bus and walking tour. Our next stop was Aruba. This was an overnight, which was a lot of fun. We were fortunate enough to be there when they had the Big Carnaval Parade (8 p.m. to 2 a.m.). After dinner, we walked a long way down the street that runs along the water, where people were lined up waiting for the parade. It was so much fun to see all the local folks with their own tents, lights, food, drinks and music. It was definitely a Big Event. I think everyone on the Island was there! We felt completely safe the whole time. Lots of families, children, parents and grandparents. I watched a couple hours of the parade before retiring back to the ship. The next day we took a local bus to Eagle Beach. The bus was very convenient ($2.50 per person each way). We rented 2 loungers for $10.00 each. We were early enough that we were able to get one of their free huts (bamboo type large "umbrella". If we wanted to, we could rent a beach umbrella for $25.00. It was a very nice beach, lots of soft sand and fairly warm water. This is the first time we had wi-fi, so it was nice to send a couple photos home to the "kids". Our next stop was Curacao. We just did a lot of walking and exploring, Very pretty bridge and buildings and friendly people. Had a little bit of rain, but then the sun came back out and really made things steamy. Bonaire was our last port of call. We took a Double Dip Snorkeling Tour through Celebrity. The boat picked us up right at the pier where Reflection was docked. Could not get any more convenient than that! We went out to the smaller isle near the ship. The crew on the Seacow was Wonderful. Personable and helpful; reassuring for nervous snorkeling novices. The waves were a bit rough, more-so than normal. The water was colder than we expected, so we were shivering when we got out of the water the first time. We were fitted with fins and told how to put on and fit our masks. We were given signs if we needed help or were OK. We were split into 3 groups and had 3 guides. Our guide pointed out different fish and a turtle, diving down to point and then coming up to talk about what it was she pointed at. Always making sure everyone was OK. After getting back on the boat the first time we warmed up a tiny bit and got back in the water for a little shorter time to see some more. This was a very good excursion to go on and I would highly recommend it. After the 2nd snorkel we were treated to rum punch :) It was another good day! My only complaint was that the time on Bonaire was limited. I think all aboard was 3:30. So, after our snorkeling and going back on board to eat lunch, there was not any time to explore the town. We did, however, take a Quick walk through town prior to the snorkeling. Read Less

The OPUS main dining room was not well organized from the taking of table orders to getting your food. Tried twice in OPUS and final cruise night was worse than first night. CAFE DE BACIO was very good. The Oceanview Cafe had lots of great choices and themed dishes. Our cabin steward (Oki) was excellent. Smiling, pleasant and always working hard. The swimming pools were very nice and it was nice to have an adults only solarium. The pool butlers worked hard making sure used towels were gathered and fresh ones replenished. They were always looking after us to make sure that we were hydrated at all times. The unfortunate part was the timing of the late shows. After a full day of activities, bedtime was calling us. The crew was amazing, enjoying their jobs and always welcoming us wherever we went. Very windy and choppy at times that made us look like drunks on the ship and we only had the premium non-alcoholic package. A very pleasant time cruising with Celebrity Cruises and will do so in the future. Read Less

First the positives (because there are many) The ship was clean. the crew were all friendly and polite. The ship is clean, everywhere and you never had to wait long for an elevator. To get off the ship for excursions was organized and easy. The food was pretty good. We ate at the Tuscan Grill for the first night and Nazareen was the person who would get us anything to drink. We saw her in the buffet every morning after and she remembered us and always smiled. She was very sweet. One thing that is a MUST on this ship is to go to Qsine restaurant. It is a specialty restaurant and you have to pay extra but it is well worth the extra price. It was the best meal we have had on any ship. Before each course there is a video/show that plays out on everyone's table and plate. Le Petit Chef catches and prepares your meal. When the video is finished, it disappears from the table and your waiter serves you with the same dish Le Petit Chef just prepared in front of you. This goes through every course and is very entertaining and great food!!! Don't miss this! We had anytime dining and always had to wait 15-30 minutes to be seated (there were 6 of us). The staff were very nice and the food was good. Joan was our stateroom steward. He was wonderful! Always greeted us when he saw us with a smile and a great attitude. Our room was always clean and everything stocked. One morning the divider on our balcony was loose and it was fixed when we returned after breakfast. Eddy the cruise director was great. You saw him everywhere. I don't think he ever stopped working. He was friendly and hilarious. He was the best cruise director we've had on any ship we've been on. The entertainment was excellent Really, the only bad thing was the Muster drill. This was the worst of any cruise line we've been on. People were jammed in the photo area shoulder to shoulder standing while we watched a couple videos (if you could see them over and around the people around you. I felt bad for people who where on their first cruise because I'm sure they weren't able to understand anything that was going on. If there were a real emergency, it would be awful. They need to have more areas for the muster drills and have fewer people. It was way too crowded! Everyone was complaining. Luckily that was at the beginning of the trip and the rest of the trip was wonderful! Read Less

My husband and I had a fantastic time on our 10 day Caribbean cruise in February. Our cabin was perfect, and our balcony view was spectacular. The crew were friendly and extremely helpful. Everything about the ship was as advertised. Because of the long day excursions, we chose late dining which worked out perfect. The food was exceptional, and we didn't feel rushed to leave. Our concierge was the best. She assisted us many, many times during the trip. Everything went without a snag from the beginning of the journey to the debarkation. The only negative part of our journey had nothing to do with the cruise, but with the hotel prior to beginning the cruise. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale the night before and rented a hotel room near the cruise terminal. We paid over $200 for a disgusting room with two full size beds, sticky carpet, broken light shades, running toilet, dripping sink, taped up chairs, and a horrible smell throughout the room. The next time I travel to Ft. Lauderdale, I will conduct better research on hotels in the area. As far as the cruise, we'd definitely go again! Read Less

I will start with I am very sensitive to motion sickness and it was really windy and rocky for me . With the patch everything went well. Now what did not go so well, the embarkation was not so hot , it was our first cruise and had no idea how things worked, was not helped by anyone we kept telling staff we were concierge class I think we had an invitation to the Opus restaurant but was not directed to that we were told to go to the 14th and 15th floor, which we did and we also had the beverage package but no ever came to ask us if we wanted anything to drink . Our cabin was ready at 13:00 which was good and it was really nice, very clean ,the patio is great . The room was very well cleaned the whole cruise just a little flaw on our last night was locked out of our fridge which sucked cause no cold water in the morning or cold juice , we were charged for bottled water so be careful Water in room not included in beverage package. The shore excursions were fabulous we had such a great time, well organized we loved every single one from the beach , the caves in Barbados ,to the Jeeps in St Marteen . We spent our wedding anniversary on the ship and had reserved a seat at the Qsine Restaurant which was spectacular from the food, the service ,the staff and the entertainment everything was beyond our expectations . The captain is a very nice person ,nice smile and greets and makes people feel at ease and welcomed . The entertainment is really nice 2 shows a nite for early birds like us . The food was good , the young girl who made my toast every morning remembered me and burnt my English muffin like I love them Read Less

Celebrity Reflection – cabin 6232 This was our 7th cruse, 4th on celebrity and second on reflection. In hindsight this was the best cruise ever, my husband and I(65 and 67) loved every minute. The ship was in excellent condition, cleanliness was top notch, food was good (perhaps not outstanding) and the itinerary was amazing. Embarkation and disembarkation at Fort Lauderdale was straight forward and took about 40 minutes each time. The horror stories that I had read about US customs were unfounded. Because we had a late flight I booked a dayroom at the Pullman hotel close to Miami airport and that was a brilliant idea. Hours spent by a beautiful pool while my husband had a leisurely rest rather than sitting in the airport for 10 hours, money well spent. . My husband and I had purchased the premier drinks package primarily because I like drinking champagne. We love the ease of having a package but although it was good with 5 sea days perhaps not cost effective, there is a limit to how much I can drink! The classic package is included with our September cruise so we have decided to pay the surplus and see how the $’s work out. We loved our cabin (6232) and balcony and Xavier our cabin steward was excellent, he kept our cabin spotless and always seemed to anticipate our schedule so we hardly saw him. When we did bump into each other he was charming, friendly and very helpful. A true star We like to have a very lazy (possibly sedate cruise) and the age range of passengers suited us as there were few children, not too many dedicated drinkers and not many walking aids. I would guess the average age was about 55-65 Entertainment was good and seemed to suit all tastes. ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ – the Beatles tribute band was superb and had everyone singing clapping shouting and reliving their youth. I loved their performance. The solo guitarist, string duo and house band were all excellent. We booked private tours at each port using cruise critic, trip advisor and previous cruisers comments to choose and organise. All were excellent both in content and economically. I much prefer small group private tours rather than celebrity tours. See my more detailed reviews on trip adviser Miami - Big Bus Tour - bit disappointing St Johns - Scenic Tours - value for money Barbados - Calabaza - catamaran tour - beyond amazing St Lucia - fun packed day St Kitts - Royston - amazing guy - book him St Marteeen - Soualika Tours - Excellent but perhaps not for 65+ Celebrity is our cruise line of choice and we can’t wait until our equinox cruise in September. Reflection is a pleasant place never feeling crowded. Pools are small and chilly but that is normal. Dining staff at Blu is business like and distant unless asking for a good review. Aqua class gives easy access to way overpriced spa and silly heated tile covered couches. Aqua class offers little benefit over a standard balcony room. There are lots of small areas for socializing that probably account for the uncrowned feeling. The espresso service is staffed by untrained and ignorant people that seem inconvenienced when asked for an espresso drink that is not a latte or cappuccino. The ship functioned well as far as embarking and disembarking went. On and off quickly and without incident. We traveled with friends and had no problems dining together or finding time to be alone. Again, the ship somehow manages to feel uncrowded even with more than 3000 passengers surrounding us. The shore excursions mostly went off without problems. St Kitts had a steel band cruise that went to a different beach than advertised which was crowded, windy, messy, and had chairs and umbrellas for rent which was not mentioned in description. Also the boat was not able to stay accessible during visit. Caribbean beaches in my experience are very windy with difficult access though stony uneven walk through the beach break. In general a pretty ship that had a staff more interested in getting things their way than making me feel comfortable. Read Less

Chose this trip because of the itinerary, cruised with Celebrity twice before and had previously enjoyed the whole experience. There were 4 adults travelling. Spent two days in Miami beforehand. Our friends ran the half marathon and we all explored the area later. Arrived by taxi at the port, the taxi driver took our cases out of the taxi and a staff member moved the cases onto the path (sidewalk), put out his hand and asked for a tip!!!! Not a great start. Embarkation was very quick, the staff were so friendly and professional and got us on board as quick as they could. On joining the Celebrity Reflection:- Cons - This time although the staff were fantastic there were quite a few complaining about conditions, contracts, etc. We upgraded to the Premium drinks package but 'classic' spirits were served and it was only when we brought it to the bar staff attention that 'premium' spirits were served. Martini Bar, usually, great atmosphere but this time lacked any atmosphere. No 'tricks' with drinks but maybe this is part of a 'cost cutting' exercise. Pros - always enough sunbeds, no matter what time we went on the deck. Cabin was clean and tidy. Catherine was our cabin steward and was very friendly. Food in Blu and Le Petit Chef was amazing, nothing was too much trouble for any of the restaurant staff. Didn't participate in any of the ship activities but usually something happening on board. Booked a couple of trips through the ship and the only one that we didn't enjoy was the Panama one. This was a trip to the lock (which was amazing) but then after having to change coach three times, given a lukewarm chicken sandwich (and a muffin) and spend 3.5hrs driving through Panama, spend half an hour at a 'market' which left only 40 minutes to walk through the old town. We all wanted to sample the local cuisine but no time to enjoy anything. On disembarkation, again, very efficient we hired a car and spent two days in Florida Keys, which was amazing. We would book another Celebrity Cruise and are looking at visiting India/Sri Lanka but would look round for other options if they have the same itinerary. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of it's interesting stopovers. Columbia, Central America and Mexico. It provided much more interesting tours than Caribbean islands. Independently we arranged a very good 2 hour walking tour of Cartegena - Yellow Umbrella Tour. Our other tours were arranged through Celebrity - Stingray City and Snorkelling in Grand Cayman were excellent. We visited Panama City and the Agua Clara canal lock, Veragua rainforest in Costa Rica and a Mayan site in Mexico. The 3 reef snorkelling in Cozumel was a little too long. The buffet on board was excellent and the main restaurant in the evening was good. The entertainment was the best we have experienced on a cruise - both the evening theatre and live performances on deck during the day. Don't go on this cruise if you don't like loud music on deck during the day. Everyone on board was very friendly and Celebrity were very well organised. Read Less

The cruise would have been even better had I not gotten a severe upper respiratory infection on the 8th day of the cruise! Our Concierge cabin was standard and adequate. Loved sitting out on the veranda reading! Our Steward, Felix, was very helpful and on top of things. We had an easy embarkation and a nice lunch in the Opus Dining Room before being allowed in our cabins. As with last year's cruise with Celebrity, they really need to get their dining situation resolved. We signed up for 'early sitting - 6 p.m.,' yet they kept making us make reservations nightly. On the 9th night found out we'd been assigned a table every night, but absolutely NO notice sent to cabin on table assignment or showed up on app until the 9th evening! Instead of getting our assigned 6:00 p.m. table, they kept insisting that we call for reservations daily. It appears they have no system for determining which cabins have assigned seating and which are not. It is a REAL pain to remember to call every morning! I will say the food in the dining room was good! The medical staff on the ship was excellent! I was under their care for 3 1/2 days, though allowed to return to my room and not confined. I pretty much opted to confine myself though and ended up using room service. Be sure to verify that your medical insurance will cover your cruise OR buy insurance to do so. Embarkation was easy and we were on the ship in about 30 minutes. We had to have 'assisted' disembarkation due to my illness and I must say assistance from leaving the ship to getting our luggage, through immigration and then to a cab was excellent and carrying! A Special THANK YOU to all of them!!!!! Read Less
