We chose this cruise because it left from our usual cruise port and was going to Bermuda. The port was Canaveral which we find exceptionally efficient! Embarkation processing was as fast as we could walk. Cabins were ready by 1:30 and our luggage showed up prior to dinner (we did not have FTTF or elite status). Cabin stewards offer AM, PM, or twice a day servicing, extra pillows and towels when they come to greet you. Our steward was nice and did a pretty good job. The tide bar and blue iguana bar seemed the best at getting a drink fastest, though we never found issues with getting a drink (except in the MDR for dinner) even if the bars were busy. The buffet for lunch was different. It seemed to be busy all the time. The options for meals were pretty small (except dessert during the chocolate extravaganza - wow). Guy's burgers were awesome as always and the service fast there. The taco/burrito bar at the Blue Iguana were wonderful too. Dinner in the Steakhouse was fabulous! I highly recommend it! Our servers were Malana and Pani - Wonderful. The alchemy bar is great for martinis - Vera was the best bartender!! Red Frog Pub was fun as was the server we most often saw - Anthonie. He's hilarious and a treat all his own. We enjoyed the music of Liz & Lucas - they were really really good! Unfortunately they did not often play in the evenings when we were in the Red Frog Pub or Atrium. We'd liked to have seen more of them at night. If you get the chance to see The Sea Sharps with Surplus of Diggity - do. They are remarkable. The female singer is top notch as is the brass section! We usually enjoy the casino on cruises, but this one had such poor ventilation that we never used it at all. It's situated in the middle of deck 5 and unfortunately you must go through it to get from one end to the other - there is no walk around hall. If the doors are locked to outside (which was the case most of our trip due to winds), you have to go up/down stairs, cross over then back down/up to the other side to get across without going through the horrific smell of the casino. The one and only time we went through it we had to go back to the cabin to change clothes right away. It was rough. Our cruise stopped in Bermuda and Grand Turk. We rented a taxi for a tour in Bermuda and they did a great job. It's a very interesting and beautiful place. In Grand Turk we rented a golf cart which worked well for driving around the island. We also stopped at Jack's Shack which was fun to see. The beaches are beautiful and all open to the public to enjoy. We chose this ship because it sailed from Port Canaveral (Orlando) to Bermuda. That was the ONLY reason. My previous experience with Carnival was "lowest common denominator". I've been on about 20 cruises with Norwegian, Holland America, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. Here are my "positive" notes: (1) fastest ever embarkation, (2) arrived at cabin 1:30PM with luggage waiting, (3) lifeboat drill used fast ship-card check in, (4) good quality balcony & deck furniture, (5) beach towels supplied in cabin, (6) cabin well lit (no struggle to read in bed), (7) excellent cake station in buffet - custom cut for you. Previous reviews have criticized the food as bland and uninteresting (and somewhere I've seen Carnival allude to their "hamburger and fried chicken" loving passengers. So I carried a bottle of Herbes de Provence which was unused after the 2nd day. We found the dinner menu quite adequate, imaginative and comparable to other cruise lines. While the Melting Chocolate Cake was the star of the dessert menu, there were other tasty selections such as a nicely done creme brulee. I was a bit disappointed in their preparation of mushrooms. We liked the layout of the buffet - relatively small "rooms" with buffet and nearby tables. No walking 50 yards around all the stations, then trying to find your seatmates. The first night we went late to the show, sat near the starboard door, something wet was dripping on my head and my partner was shivering. We left. During a talk by ship managers, a passenger remarked on the small number of Carnival shows ("on every ship"), and she would like to see more variety (as a frequent Carnival guest). The ship acknowledged the complaint, stated a new show is in the works, they are expensive to produce, and the existing ones have new personnel that bring a new look to an old show. The production shows are a big reason I cruise, so I'm not in a hurry to sail with Carnival again to see the same old thing. The band Sea Squared (if I have that right) was very good. We were particularly impressed with a string trio performing on the central stairway. A lot of talent (of course), with excellent variety., Definitely not "lowest common denominator". They were great. Debarkation went very well. We had to wait about 15 minutes with luggage in hand because the terminal got backed up. Absolutely no problem getting on elevators. We are happy! I was on the Carnival Breeze this past August for a family and friends vacation and I am concerned about the decisions of some members of the security crew... My 17 and 20 year old daughters had to make a complaint because some teenagers were doing prank calls and knocking on their cabin door in the middle of the night. During debarkation they were both hold back on the ship by security. Since I walked out a few persons before my daugthers I waited a little further on the bridge leading to the terminal. Not seeing them arrive I was very worried so I am glad I was able to make my way back to the exit of the ship and wait with them (note here that nobody wanted to tell us why my daugthers where not allowed to leave the ship). As per Carnival's web site "Guests Under the Age of 21 MUST travel with a relative or guardian of 25 years of age or older". How come security was allowed to hold my daugthers without even notifying the parent or guardian (aka me in this case)? Are they so important that they can pass over parental authority? I called Carnival when I got home and apparently there's nothing wrong with that situation... I even sent a message to John Heald who replied that "because there was a 20-year-old sister with her that she was considered to be an appropriate adult". That being said, eveything else was as great as usual. The cruise director MarQ was really energetic and enthusiastic. Our cabin steward Korn and MDR waiter Alex were exceptional. They were always making everything they could to be ahead of our needs. My husband and I took the "behind the fun" tour. It was absolutely fantastic! I do recommend this tour to everybody. Since we were cruising just ahead of the hurricane Dorian, the captain did multiple announcements to inform the passengers about the situation. He made sure to keep us safe at all time. Read Less

This cruise was amazing! Ports were Amber Cove, St. Virgin Island, PR, and Grand Turk. It took only 45 minutes to get abroad the ship. People were very friendly. The workers are great and always speaking. Not one employee was on a cell phone the entire cruise unless they were high in authority. They work extremely hard. The food was good all over except the dining room food quality food appeared not top notch, which was fine. Plenty of other places to eat...and guess what you can try everything on the menu! The comedy shows were great....Just June and Billy Washington, were funny as heck! There were always plenty of deck chairs on the Lido deck and it was 3742 guest aboard the ship. Our cruise Director MarQ, was great and funny as heck! Some people did not care for him, but heck, who can make up jokes in a second, so kudos to him! From the all white party, to the Serenity Adult Only section, to the "Chicken Sandwich" at the deli, I thought I was eating a Popeye's chicken sandwich that everyone is going crazy over! I will say there were children, but many played in the waterpark and it was not an issue. I just believe Carnival should make the public pools alittle larger and create an adult only pool. They now have lifeguards at each pool which is a plus. The best excursions were St. Thomas, Kon Tik Tik Tour, was great...water was BEAUTIFUl and plenty of rum punch. We opted to take a tour on Grand Turk with a beach excursion and so glad we did, which allowed us to go to a private beach. They served us their island spice cake which was good and complimentary water. A bus was present to take any persons back to the ship when they were ready. I am a beach girl, so I stayed! I loved the Carnival Breeze and is in the process of booking again in August 2021 for a girls trip. However I will say Disembarkation was a mess...only TWO customs workers for 4000 persons....trick...get a porter to handle you luggage...lines move quicker! Great ship, people, food, entertainment, excursions, casinos, movies outside with movie blankets and popcorn! Read Less

We have cruised with Carnival, Royal Caribbean and NCL in the past and chose this cruise base on price. This was our second Carnival cruise and was a lot better than our first experience on the Dream. I had a lot of reservations before boarding based on reviews I read here but we did not experience any of the issues I read about. Embarkation was easy and we were on board by 1130. Our cabin was nice and clean and everything worked as it should. Saw a lot of complaints about the air not being cold enough, but our was working great and would cool the room down as much as we needed it to. Our room steward was awesome. One of the best we have had in our handful of cruises. He always made sure the room was clean and stocked with towels and was apologetic anytime we came back and the room was not done up yet. Not that we were concerned, but it was nice to hear he was and tool pride in making sure he did his job well. The ship itself was really nice and didnt experience any issue. The shows we were to were excellent, the comedy club was fun. The pools, even though small, did not seem to be overly crowded whenever we went, even on sea days much to our surprise. The same for the water park as well. The only disappointment we had was to food selection, especially for kids. It was not obvious that you could get chicken nuggets in the Lido. You had to ask for them instead of them having a dedicated area for kid friendly foods like we have experienced on other cruise lines. The Sapphire restaurant was great and the food selection there was nice. We experienced the steakhouse for the first time on this cruise and it was nice as well. Our head server in the Sapphire was awesome. Took care of my kids and made sure they were happy with what they had. We have always been skeptical of Carnival as they have the reputation of being the party boat, but we did not experience this on this cruise for the most part and we really enjoyed it. We have young kids and dont want to deal with all the drunk people all the time. Although there was one night at 2am we were woken up by a group of drunks walking down the hallway screaming and yelling, but thats it. All in all we were really happy with this cruise and will be looking for future Carnival cruises now based on this experience. I guess my advice for those that read this is dont let the negative review ruin your cruise or swade you from trying out Carnival or any other cruise for the first time. You can make you own experience and have your own fun in your own way. Read Less

We, my wife and I, really enjoyed all aspects of this ship.. It's a larger ship, (130,000 Gross Tons), but so very easy to find your way around. It follows the "lay out" of most Carnival ships. Our cabin (balcony) was excellent. We prefer the forward cabins on the larger ships as it is easier disembarking. We try to get next to an elevator and then just catch it down to disembark. . The dining was very enjoyable. Our "team" knew us by name and our preferences, after the first night. Most of our entertainment was done in the casino, which was one of the best run we have experienced. All the "Hosts", including the Premier Hosts were attentive and very helpful !! We did take an excursion in Amber Cove, D.R., "The Outback Dominican Experience". Well worth the money.. We would enjoy cruising on the Breeze again... Please look for it. Read Less

We chose this ship because it was going to Roatan, our favorite port stop. This was our 7th cruise and 2nd trip on the Breeze. The ship itself is starting to show her age. While we traveled on it they were touching up paint (much needed), and replacing the outdoor tv (missing many pixels). The staff and service onboard was excellent; enjoyed chatting with many of the crew. The ship is lacking allot of entertainment if you have teenagers with you. There were some sporting tournaments; however, they were geared towards adults only. At night you’d see hordes of teens with security not far behind. The buffet was lack luster- same thing for breakfast every morning, and no hash browns at all. The blur iguana is always an excellent choice for lunch and or breakfast. The pizza did not disappoint as I believe they have the best tasting out of any line. The embarkation process was very smooth; however, disembarkation was very poor and slow, compared to other lines we’ve been on. Read Less

We had a great time, but there could /should have been more for the teen age group to do. For example there was a dodgeball tournament , but for adults. Kids ran around the ship a lot, unsupervised. There were several fights in the arcade that lasted long enough for my son to video and security knew nothing about it. There were tons if activities for adults and they were all great. The staff is excellent, very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The room was nice, clean and our steward Mudi, was great! At night, the room temp was warm and the air did not seem to be working at its fullest, but not terrible. Getting on and off was very easy for the cruise as well as for the excursions. Food was good and there was plenty of options and choices. Our cruise director marQ was awesome and heand many of the cruise staff learned and remembered many of the guests names. This made it very personal and fun as well. Excursions: amber cove- we did the horseback riding at Seahorse ranch and it was great. Horses are beautiful and Fausto, our guide was very informative on our way there. San Juan: the rainforest and Old SanJuan, very nice and interesting St. Thomas: snorkeling sea turtle cove, this was beautiful and we wish it would have lasted longer Grand Turks: the beach had a lot to do for everyone the water was beautiful. This was the third multi generational family cruise for our family which included three staterooms for my family, my inlaws, and my sister in law and her family.. Perfect stateroom location on lido deck 10290, 10286, and 10282. Literally could not get any closer to the lido deck if you tried! This was the second time I've stayed in a balcony on lido deck, (last time starboard, this time port) and it is so incredibly convenient in the mornings for breakfast, and all day on sea days. My father in law has mobility issues so that made this and even better location for him. This completed my "grand slam" on the Dream class and honestly, I'm done with Dream class for awhile. I do believe Breeze was the prettiest of the Dream class ships, the lido restaurant with its "trees" and "cabanas" was very nice. But we love ships. We cruise because of the ships first, ports second, and once you've done a ship three times, its time to move on. lol Again, cabin location GREAT, but 10290 was right behind where the windows at Blue Iguana jut out so you had a bit of a blockage looking forward. Not a big deal though. Food: same old same old. It's time for Carnival to update menu. The dining room menus have not changed and quite frankly there were some preparation issues. Our dining room waiter told us first night, "please be patient" and for the rest of the week we were the last table almost every night. The head waiter personally served our table all week so I believe someone was either let go, or quit, right before our cruise began. Amit was as attentive as he could be though and very friendly. Gede, the head waiter did what he could but it was just one of those things. We treated my inlaws to Chef's Table on this cruise for their anniversary. We did this last summer on the Dream and i do believe the food was prepared better on Dream. Of course we still loved Chef's Table. Entertainment: I thought there was no way we could top the Dream entertainment and i was 100% correct. Sadly, the entertainment on Breeze was VERY disappointing. I was talking up all the shows to our family, and nobody was impressed. I know that Dream has the best entertainment staff in the fleet, but Breeze was not even close. Schwartz. LOVED Schwartz! The first day, during muster I though, ugh this guy is boooooring, but he turned it up the next day during his morning show with Kimbo. Those two have such a chemistry and for the first time in 9 cruises I watched the morning show EVERY single day!!!! Love Schwartz and Kimbo!!!! New ebarkation at port canaveral super easy. We arrived at port by 1030am, we all had Faster to the Fun, got my father in law a wheel chair, and as soon as priority began boarding, we were on our way. On ship by about 10:50. Debarkation super easy too, we choose self debarkation. Read Less

Sailed June 15th on our 11th cruise (9 with Carnival) celebrating our families various achievements in 2018. We are 6 months to 81 years and had 8 contiguous balconies, which is how we usually cruise. The balconies on this ship were TIGHT, as were the common areas. The Dream Class simply has too many people for the same size common areas of the smaller ships. Embarkation and debarkation were a "breeze" and of course the staff was excellent. Dining staff did seem a little overwhelmed and the shows at night were fair. Comedians were hilarious Our complaints are strictly with the number of people on board...guess we're just not bigger ship folks. We do love Carnival, just enjoy the smaller ships more. The kids LOVED the waterworks and Club O2, all of us loved the Trivia and Schwartz, our cruise director was amazing! We will cruise with Carnival again - so close to Platinum we can taste it - but on a smaller ship :) Read Less

My family and I had a wonderful time on the Breeze! Embarkation on day 1 was super smooth, and we actually got to board the ship early. I directly went to Guy Fieri's burger station, which has been absolutely delicious on previous ships, and it did not disappoint. The food, overall, was pretty good. The best food was found at Guy Fieri's and the Blue Iguana cantina. All of their food is excellent. We had my time dining in the Sapphire Restaurant for dinner, and we never had to wait an extremely long time for a table because you can reserve online through the Carnival hub app before you want to eat. The food in the Main Dining Room was decent. However, some nights, are waiting staff wasn't particularly attentive because they seemed to have too many tables. I would recommend that Carnival hire more waiting staff for the Main Dining Rooms so their employees aren't overwhelmed. The buffet food was tolerable, the desserts (especially the cake) was AMAZING, the pasta bar in the Cucina del Capitano was great, and the Pizza Pirate on the back of the Lido deck was ok. When we weren't eating, my family and friends and I were usually on one of the decks relaxing, playing trivia, listening to some amazing music, or at a comedy show. My overall review of the entertainment and activities is average. My friends and I attended the "Welcome Aboard" show on opening night, which we thought was going to feature lots of singing and dancing. However, it is a complete waste of time, as the cruise director talks for over 30 minutes and there is a 12 minute preview show of whats to come for the rest of the week. And the singers and dancers were not excellent. I know Carnival is not known for their entertainment, but I could not sit through an entire production on this cruise. The singing was sub-par, and the scripts were just awful. However, all of the other entertainment and activities were excellent. We had an amazing group of violin players on our ship that played everything from modern pop music to rock n roll. They were FANTASTIC. The trivia was fun, and most of the comedy shows were hilarious! (Especially Cee-jay Jones) We also tried out the Thrill Theater, which is an onboard 4D theater. It is an upcharge of $5.50, but it is well worth it in my opinion. We went to the Level 3 extra scary version, which wasn't super scary, but it was so much fun! We enjoyed it so much we watched it twice. We stopped at Cozumel, Belize, Isla Roatan, and Costa Maya on our cruise. Cozumel is always a blast, and I highly recommend that you buy all of your souvenirs there. They are wayyyyyy cheaper than the other stops. Belize was very fun as well. We rented a car and went to the Belize zoo, and got to see rare animals such as a Tapir, Harpy Eagles, monkeys, a jaguar, toucans, and many more. Isla Roatan was probably the most beautiful port we stopped at. Although the whole island was very touristy (it even had a Bojangles!!) it was absolutely gorgeous, and we participated in a Dolphin encounter that was amazing. The worst port by far was Costa Maya. I would have preferred to not get off the boat. There were many shops to go into, but they were ridiculously overpriced. They were selling the same maraca's for $7 that could be purchased in Cozumel for $1. The port also smelled terrible! I think they were doing construction of the sewage system. Also, the pool was available to the public for free, but you had to pay to sit in the beach chairs. Ridiculous!! A terrible port. Overall, my friends and family and I had an amazing time on the Carnival Breeze. My recommendations to Carnival: hire more waiting staff in the restaurants onboard, create an adult-only swimming pool so people don't have to be kicked by little kids all the time, and get better performers and script writers for the productions. I am a fan of Carnival cruise line. I have sailed on multiple cruises with them. The Breeze is one of the best ships I have been on. They offer a good selection of entertainment and activities [we really enjoy the karaoke and trivia and were disappointed that we missed some trivia games due to being in port while they were taking place :(]. The staff are very pleasant and attentive to guests’ needs. The food is high quality and Guy’s restaurants are delicious, which is one of the top reasons I prefer Carnival cruise lines. On the Breeze I would avoid balcony stateroom #6406 if you are a light sleeper (which unfortunately I am). The room is right above the Redfrog pub and most evenings you will hear loud music until midnight or later. You can also hear the music from the Liquid nightclub even after the pub has shut down for the night, which is a constant bass beat and can be quite annoying. The lanai promenade and corn hole game is also just below the outdoor balcony and you can hear when people are playing the game(even while inside the stateroom)it is a constant thumping sound and is sometimes played late in the night as well. People outdoors on the lanai promenade can be very loud at times. The balcony view is also not ideal due to the lanai promenade obstructing the view. Read Less

This was our second time on the Breeze. We were celebrating my son's High School Graduation. We sailed the first time in 2016 out of Miami. The ship has been updated and they added a few items like Guy's Pig & Anchor and the Red Frog Pub. We loved the staff, the Alchemy Bar (especially Vera) and the Western Carribbean itinerary. We really appreciated our dining staff making our son feel like a rock star by acknowledging his graduation with a song and cake. The ship lacked fitness classes like sunrise yoga and enrichment classes. We sailed on the Dream October 2018 and the ship had both of these. Embarkstion was easy since we selected the latest boarding option and Customs was the fastest of any international trip I have taken. Disembarkation was chaotic. We had an early flight so we were one of the first groups to get off the ship. People were everywhere and Carnival did not use all the elevators so many people had to lug their luggage up and down stairs. Read Less

Carnival Hub App – This was our first cruise that we didn’t have to use walkie-talkies or notes to stay in touch. You will appreciate the Carnival Hub App because it allows for texting to every person in your party who also has the app. Cost is $5 per phone for the entire cruise and you utilize Carnival’s Wifi. It is well worth the minimal charge. The app shows you what is happening onboard and the times. You can mark things you want to do or see ahead of time, and the app will give you a 15 minute heads up notification. You can view the dinner menu for each evening. You can see your onboard account activity, and book excursions straight through the app. See screenshots photos of App. Dinner - We had 8:15 dinner seating. 1st seating is 6 pm. 8:15 is an ideal time for several reasons. First, it allows for a later lunch which is a good thing because lunch crowds are heavy at several popular spots when they open at noon. Second, the 8:15 seating is generally less crowded which allows for a more relaxed dinner. For lunch, Guy’s Burger Joint (10th floor, Lido deck) and Guy’s Pig & Anchor (5th floor, outside) are both a must do. No lines at either one after 2pm. Dinner Seating – The Dining Room – There are two main dining rooms: Sapphire and Blush. Sapphire is mid-ship; we never dined in there. We had table 755, upstairs, next to railing overlooking the first floor of the Blush Dining Room. This was a GREAT table for two. The other tables for two along the rail are # 752, 798, 802, 805. Important side note: Make it a priority to go to the dining room on departure day at 1pm when they open up to speak with the maître-d to request a change in table assignments. We suggest you arrive at the dining room entrance by 12:30 and wait for them to start helping guests at 1pm. See photos for table locations. Coffee - Bring your own flavored creams if you like them because the ship doesn’t provide them. They do provide milk and regular creamer. Bring a thermal mug from home if you’d like to keep your coffee hot or walk around the ship with it. Omelet Stations - There are two of them. Go to the one at the rear (aft) of the Lido buffet dining area. The line is always much shorter than the one at the front entrance. State Room - We booked the week before our cruise and literally only had one room choice at the time: 8209 (Forward, Inside). We generally book balconies, but this room ended up being perfect in several ways. First, the room location is [almost] at the end of a dead end hallway. It was very quiet which allowed for a good night’s rest. You will only get foot traffic from a few other rooms. Second, if you don’t mind using stairs, the location provides easy access to the 10th and 5th floors which are the two main public floors. Pools - Bring back the big pools! Why cruise lines went to smaller pools as opposed to the larger pools, I’m not sure. The couple of pools they did have were small and very crowded – all the time. They did have several whirlpools throughout the ship, which was a definite plus. Bring towel clips for sunbathing because of the wind on the 10th 11th decks. The Waterworks Park area was super refreshing on the hot days! Bingo – Yay! Carnival Breeze does not use the bingo machines. Bingo is the way it should be – with paper cards! Bring your own blotter or other bingo supplies if you play regularly. Staff – The crew work very hard to make sure the ship is clean. They are cleaning all the time!!!! The wait staff is outstanding. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Bravo to the crew! Cruise Director Schwartz is outstanding! Read Less

Chose this cruise for the ship and the itinerary; Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, Honduras, and Costa Maya. Going through customs in Port Canaveral was smooth. The customs agents were friendly, kind, professional, thorough, well organized and efficient. Port Canaveral made the whole process bearable. Last years port Port Miami was disorganized, and chaotic to say the least. Will try to not book another Cruise Embarkation/Disembarkation out of Port Miami. Most things were good or above average on our cruise. We had a great Room Steward, Jhonny. He exceeded our expectations in every way. We gladly gave him an extra tip in a addition to a gift bag at the beginning. Last year's Room Steward was good too, on the Carnival Vista. We loved Jhonny this year. We hope to have him again in the future. The Sapphire Dining Room hostesses, waiter / waitress staff provided great service. We had Anytime Dining where we sometimes had different waiters/waitresses, which made this more impressive. The food and service were great in the MDR. We increased our Prepaid Gratuities, because of the high level of service in the MDR and Guest Services. My wife and I always book the Thermal Suite and Thalassotherapy Pool from the Spa, before our Cruise. We love the Thalassotherapy Pool and the 4 Heated Chambers. The Spa Staff is always kind, helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, some Chambers weren't working this time on the Carnival Breeze. The Oriental Steam Bath Chamber on Embarkation wasn't working that night. Some Chambers only had 1 Essential Oil/ Aroma Choice when there is suppose to be 4 choices. Either the Laconium, Dry Heat Chamber choices didn't work or the choices had not been restocked/refilled with essential oil choices. The Tepidarium(Heated Ergonomic Shaped Loungers were not working.) Some of the loungers didn't heat. My wife and I love the Spa, but it was disappointing some of the Heated Loungers didn't heat, and some of the Heated Chambers, the Oriental Steam Bath, the Aroma Steam Bath, the Laconium, Dry Heat Bath were not working properly(1 or less choices for essential oils) or were turned off, not working at all. **[Note: I have since contacted the Spa, and they assured me the mechanical issues weren't the norm. Their representative patiently allowed me to address my concerns and worked towards a resolution. I personally was impressed with their sensitivity and their concern with mine and my wife's dissatisfaction.**] The washing machines and dryers were not working on deck 10 and deck 7. We were on deck 8, so we hoped to use deck 7's or deck 10's Laundry Mat for convenience sake. We were forced to go down to deck 2 and wait, because other people needed to use deck 2's Laundry Mat, because it was the only serviceable washing machines and dryers working for ship passengers. One Laundry Mat working for a ship with over 3,000 passengers. Very inconvenient, frustrating and disappointing. The Professional Photographers did a great job taking pics, as always. Getting pics taken is always fun on a Carnival Cruise. I'm not an expert, but I believe Carnival has some of the best Photographers in the world. There were only 3 workers to serve all passengers trying to purchase picture packages on the last Sea Day. Those 3 people in the Pixel Gallery, looked exhausted and couldn't provide me and my wife with the service we needed, so the result was, we spent half the money on pics this year as we did last year. Unsatisfactory service in the pixel gallery, not the workers' fault. There were to many people for the Pixel Workers to serve. We paid less. I started not to purchase any pics at all, since we couldn't get any help. That's unfortunate, because the pictures taken by the photographers are so good, we have a difficult time deciding which pictures we want to keep. My wife and I walked down to the Pixel Gallery early before it opened and tagged pictures we wanted to keep as favorites. We had narrowed them down. When we returned to purchase our pictures the whole system had reset as if we hadn't done the work previously to narrow down the pictures. This was rather annoying and frustrating. Maybe we should stop purchasing pics from Carnival. Having pics made with the various Photographers and different back drops, was one of the most fun things to do on the ship. However, if Carnival doesn't hire enough help to service demand in the Pixel Gallery and the process and/or computer system in the Pixel Gallery is going to waste our time after we tried to get ahead of the masses(Huge Crowds) of passengers in the Pixel Gallery by tagging the pics we wanted as favorites, then we may stop purchasing any pics from the Pixel Gallery. My wife and I take a lot of Pics and Video on our own, and some of them are quite good. I'm not saying they are professional level, like the Pixel Gallery. But if going to the Pixel Gallery is going to be as Inconvenient and stressful as it was on the Carnival Breeze, we will stay with our own pics. We would definitely save a lot of money if we stayed with our own Pics and Video. 555 Steak House did a tremendous job with food and service on Embarkation Night. My wife and I decided we wanted to do a Specialty Dining(preferably Steakhouse) to celebrate our cruise. It's our little Cruise Tradition. Last year we did the Chef's Table on the Vista and it was a great experience. I highly recommend Chef's Table and the 555 Steakhouse also. We had Excellent Service and Delicious Food from 555 Steakhouse on the Carnival Breeze. It really got our Cruise off on the right foot, so to speak. We also did Bonsai Sushi our last Sea Day Night, and it was great. We ordered the Fresh Water Eel, and Tempura Shrimp Rolls, and Sushi Individuals of each menu choice, the Green Tea Cupcake, and the Rice Pudding. It was all delicious. My wife and I are inexperienced with eating Sushi, but a young lady working for Bonsai Sushi, patiently taught us how to hold chop sticks and how to eat Sushi. She also gave my wife some training Chop Sticks. We were impressed with the food and service at Bonsai Sushi. It was fun and a great experience for us. We increased our gratuity, because of the great service. I love the Red Frog Pub. I always enjoy purchasing the Red Frog Beer Sampler. I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I really enjoy the taste of Red Frog Pub, Thirsty Frog Red Beer. I think it is the best tasting beer I have ever had. Most of the time I drink Michelob Ultra, Bud Light Lime, Dos Equis or some other Light Beer when I do drink beer. Patrick in the Red Frog Pub on the Carnival Breeze gave me great service. I arrived kind of late, but it wasn't closing yet, but another man working with Patrick who acted like he was in charge, acted like a Manager of the Red Frog Pub, May 1st or 2nd, said rather rudely to me, "WE ARE CLOSED!" More than once. just before closing time. The man tried to literally run me off. It was near closing. I understand, kind of, sort of. I would have gladly taken my drink to go though, but this man wasn't going to give me the opportunity to do that. I calmly told him Patrick said before he was gonna serve me. He asked Patrick, and Patrick said he did tell me he would serve me. This happened on May 1st or May 2nd, 2019 near the end of our cruise. I should have got the man's name and complained to Guest Services about his rudeness. But at the same time I know all of those workers on the ship work very hard, and we were tired, so I am sure they were tired as well. The Playlist Production Staff were great, especially when performing Flick, The Power of Motion Pictures on the Carnival Breeze. Awesome show. Read Less

We sailed the Carnival Breeze for our bi-annual Spring Break cruise, April 13-20, 2019. It was a great cruise but did have a few negatives. First, the good and very good: -Embarkation – the new way that Carnival does this worked very well, and boarding the ship was an easy process. Much better that the prior process of waiting in lines to see a representative, showing your credit card, getting your room keys, etc. Now it’s just walking into the security area, having your boarding pass scanned, getting a boarding group number, having your picture taken, getting screened and waiting for your number to be called. Your room keys are in a tamper-proof envelope in your cabin’s mailbox. -Food – the food everywhere was quite good, especially the desserts in the main dining room and the “Sweet Spot” in the Lido Marketplace. I wanted to try many of the dining options I’ve not tried on my prior Carnival cruises since the Breeze has so many to choose from. BTW, they changed the Tandoori station (which was included) in the aft pool area to a Seafood Shack (additional charges apply). I’m glad they did, as the lobster roll platter was outstanding – 2 rolls with fries for $14, and the lobster filling was fresh and plentiful. I also tried the new Carnival Deli menu – the Cuban sandwich was very good. Also, I tried the Mongolian Wok for the first time and enjoyed my noodles with beef in Sichuan sauce (spicy). I was going to try the free lunchtime pasta bar at Cucina del Capitano, but some of our cruise mates tried it and said it was nothing special. The new food tries also included Guy’s Pig and Anchor Barbecue (very good) and the light soup and salad lunch offerings in the Plaza Café. Of course, previously-experienced Guy’s Burger Joint was visited as well as the Blue Iguana Cantina for a breakfast burrito and lunchtime tacos. All very good as usual. We ate breakfast in the main dining room every morning except one, for Sea Day Brunch or Open Seating breakfast, to avoid the mobs of people in the Lido Marketplace. Food was good; however, it was hit and miss on the poached or over-easy eggs having a soft yolk. Dining room food for dinner was very good with few exceptions. -Drinks – we had the Cheers! Package so we were able to try many different concoctions from many different bars. Our favorites were the Casino Bar, Alchemy Bar and Red Frog Pub. Drinks were consistently prepared, and after-dinner specialty cocktails at Alchemy were a nightly event. -Entertainment – very good shows in the main theater, with talented singers & dancers and nice staging/special effects. The Country/Rock band and singing duet were both great. We enjoyed the live music nightly. They also had a modern string quartet that played today’s songs instead of traditional string compositions. -Shops – the Breeze has a wide variety of shops with reasonable prices. Of course, my wife got a “souvenir” at the EFFY fine jewelry shop. We also won a raffle there for a signature EFFY jeweled panther keychain and ruby pendant necklace. -Service – overall the service was quite good, and the crew we encountered friendly and wanting to help. Service at the bars was quick and efficient. Our dining room team (Early Seating Dinner) was hard working and did a good job all week, learning our names the first night and using them every night thereafter. However, it is apparent that they have reduced staff in recent years and the team was stretched thin on the busy nights (first night, Elegant nights, etc.), as the ship was at capacity, with 4700+ guests on board (standard double occupancy is 3690). The Guest Services staff were some of the best I’ve encountered – I’ll describe an issue I had with the cabin involving Guest Services later in this review. There were some inconsistencies with certain aspects of the service we experienced, which are also described later in this review. -Cabin Steward – our Steward Victoria was probably the best we’ve had on any cruise, on any cruise line. She did an amazing job of keeping our stateroom clean and comfortable and supplied with what we needed. -Casino – it was large with plenty of slots and table games. I don’t gamble, but my wife certainly made some donations on the slots. As mentioned previously, the bartending team was top-notch. However, as this was Carnival and the only indoor venue that allows smoking, be prepared for a constant smoke smell – the ventilation clears the actual smoke quickly, but the odor is persistent. Shore Tours – we did Carnival-sponsored tours in each of our four ports. All were fun and informative. Now, the not-so-good: -Cabin – although our category 8C veranda cabin was Carnival’s usual rather roomy size compared to other lines, with a comfortable bed and couch, our cabin #8441 developed a sewer-like smell shortly after sailing. Long story short, they were unable to resolve the issue during our voyage. Our steward said this was not the first time someone raised this issue, so I would recommend avoiding this cabin. That said, once I raised the issue with Guest Services, they did make every effort to resolve the issue, sending the floor manager, HVAC technician and even a Guest Services representative to investigate the matter. Our workaround was to leave the bathroom door slightly opened, as the air intake vent in the bathroom was quite powerful and kept the air circulating and the smell reduced. We bring a bungee cord with us to prop open the balcony door, so this was also done occasionally – when opening the cabin door at the same time, the air from the hallway comes rushing in to refresh the cabin air. These steps kept the issue to a minor annoyance, and Guest Services compensated us with an OBC that we felt was satisfactory compensation or our inconvenience. -Certain Main Dining Room Service – at Breakfast/Sea Day Brunch, it sometimes took a while to get attention by the servers after being seated. It sometimes took several minutes before we received water and coffee. Also, it sometimes took a while to receive our orders, even when adjacent tables received theirs even though being seated after us. Finally, getting bar drinks/wine at dinner was a challenge, especially in the first few days of the cruise. Things were better later in the week. -Crowds/Lines – this was the largest cruise ship we’ve ever sailed, and as mentioned previously, the ship was at capacity since it was a Spring Break cruise. The chair hogs we out in force, so we didn’t even try to lay out in the sun while on the ship. We got our sun time on our shore tours. Also, lines for certain food stations in the Lido Marketplace could be very long at peak breakfast and lunch times. In fact, the one morning we had breakfast on Lido the lines were so long at the buffet I was able to get a Blue Iguana burrito (no line!) and finish it before my wife returned with her eggs and bacon from the buffet. Finding available tables could also be a challenge. Getting off the ship at certain ports of call also had big backups. The cruise being over Spring Break meant over a thousand kids on board, so there was plenty of hallway running, (every) elevator button pushing, and loud areas. Definitely not a cruise for relaxation. -Debarkation – chaotic and slow-going. It seemed to me they called too many decks (for self-assisted departures) and Debarkation Zones (for checked luggage folks) at the same time, overwhelming the solitary forward staircase and elevators used for this purpose. This needs to be better-managed. -Overall – a great cruise with lots of dining choices, great drinks and service (with a few exceptions) and smooth embarkation process. Although there were some issues (the cabin odor being the main one), the weather was great all week, and we enjoyed the ports and sea days. I would definitely cruise the Carnival Breeze again, just not at Spring Break and not in cabin #8441. Read Less

The embarkation and disembarkation was a COOL BREEZE transaction both ways. The Ship itself is an older ship but with upgrades. The cabin was great and LAURO went the extra mile to make sure we were accommodated in every which way. He also addressed us by our names as we did the same with him. He was a very pleasant person overall. The dining experience was great as well. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes. With that being said I'm just going to keep it real. We had to wait very long periods to receive our food during the beginning of the week for breakfast in the BLUSH restaurant. By the third day everything started to go smoothly and enjoyable. Dinner was great as well. We met and remembered a memorable person 'APRIL JOY'. I believe she was head waitress. She's amazing with people. She has great character and very personable. I watched how she interacted with others and boy she's just a true JOY to be around with a wonderful experience. I hope to run into her again in our future cruises. We really enjoyed the SEAFOOD SHACK. had we known that it was that good we would've ordered the crab legs and shrimp everyday. We heard how good from a relative on our 5th day. So we did get 2 days of orders in. YUMMY. $33 up-charge was worth it. We also had 555 Fahrenheit. Surf and turf. Yummy $38pp up-charge. Cherry on TOP. whelp that will fix your candy fix. The entertainment was awesome. The entire FUN SQUAD was on point with everything. IF they made a mistake well we didn't see it. DONKEY is a true character. This is my second run in with him but on a different ship. I pre warned my guest that he's hilarious. lol. His Spirit is one to be around. I learned a little more about him in the Q and A session in the Ovation room. QUEST entertainment got crazy but funny. If you are easily offended this isn't for you. The COMEDY umm I didn't like it. I went to 2 shows and neither were funny to me on this cruise. To each it own. ALL the shows in the Ovation were great. The 80s show or name that song was awesome. I recorded that one. lol. ``Service``employees weren't that friendly. I've seen better cruises with friendlier people. Usually when passing by the greet you. You didn't get much of that on this cruise. I think that was pretty much my only complaint. Excursions'' We did the powerboat (Belize)and the ATV(CostaMaya)with JASMINE. She was an awesome tour guide. We will definitely do those again if we visit those ports again. OVERALL 4 out of 5. Read Less

We enjoyed the shows that we saw. the down side of this trip was some of te things that carnival doesn't tell you. 1 they don't tell you that every time you are in a us port you pay an extra tax on anything you drink on the ship. So if your in port for 8 hours it can cost you an additional 20 dollars per couple. I am an avid scrapbooker. so i was looking forward to that activity that was on board since they teamed up with michaels it was very disappointing took 15 minutes to get your supplies and then only gave you 15 minutes to work on the project. It wuld have made sense to prepackage the project or extend the time they gave. Our first night in the dining room was not good from the server to where they sat us. But by the next night they moved our seating to a private table and 3 really awesome waiters. Cabin steward was good. no issues with that at all. We would go again. yes. Read Less

The cruise ship was beautiful. This was our third time on this boat. The food was not quite as good as our previous cruises. The pizza was not very good at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The embarkation went very smoothly. The debarkation process was terrible as seven out of ten elevators were shut down during the process. Every time an elevator would reach our floor it would be filled to capacity. We had to tote our bags and carryons down six flights of stairs. this was pretty bad because one member of our party has COPD and another member has a bad leg. The entertainment was pretty good, and the cruise Director kept things interesting. It was a little bit tiring making four port stops four days in a row, but I guess we could have stayed on the boat.It was nice having four ports of call, but a day in between one or more would have been great. We enjoyed our cruise, with the acception of a few details. Our waitress in the dining room was rude when we chose to eat at the buffet a couple of nights. The Hubb App was slow to get messages sent and did not work on group messages. Often it would take 15 minutes or more for the message to go through. We were told, as we were disembarking on the last day, that we could purchase pictures on line after we returned home. We are now home, and found out this information is inaccurate! We now have no pictures (taken by the photographers on board the ship) of our family group of 12. Very disappointing! Also, if you have small children, the Dive-in Movies are almost all rated PG-13 and not appropriate for children. This was disappointing, since our grandkids were looking forward to watching movies by the pool. The movie screen was also very poor quality. Read Less

This cruise was a sibling reunion - 5 brothers/sisters and spouses. We booked 5 oceanview rooms at the back of the boat, deck 2. It was wonderful to hear the hum of the engine as we slept and to see the wake, but be aware that when docking (and occasionally other times) there is a lot of engine noise. Our room steward (Silvana) was great! The rooms were clean and adequate. Walls and ceilings are magnetic, so bring magnetic clips! We sat at a large round table for dining and chose late dining (8:15). It was a bit later than we would have liked, but the early dining was too early. We loved our servers!! (Olga, I Madi and Widi). They made dining a highlight of the cruise. The food and selection was very good - much better than we expected! One comment (complaint actually) is that they have stopped putting tablecovers on except for formal nights, and the noise in the dining room is extreme - we couldn't talk to the people across the table from us! The entertainment was disappointing - not bad, per se, but lacking in variety and imagination. I'm not sure who they are catering to, but it didn't seem to be very popular with any group! Some cruises we have been on have had full broadway shows, cirque du soleil type acrobatics, professional ballroom dancers, music for all eras, lots of color and costumes, etc. The comedians were fine, the magician was okay - we never made it to the piano bar. The ship itself was clean and had nice amenities - fun mini golf and water slides and a nice outdoor theater, good hot tubs. The central atrium wasn't very exciting or beautiful. We had beautiful weather and wonderful stops, so all in all this was a great cruise. Read Less

I picked this cruise because of an attractive cruisefare and the fact that the ship embarked only a two hour drive from my house in Florida. Boarding was very easy and quick and we were able to get in our cabin within one hour of being on board. Went to the buffet for lunch and found an ample variety of food offers and plenty of open seating. Food was very good sampling of American style dishes. We found plenty of organized activities onboard and nightly shows. Movies on the upper deck also. Standard dining rooms offered decent food with many choices. Lobster night was great. We tried the upcharge Italian restaurant, the steakhouse, and the sushi restaurant. All three were great and worth the upcharge. Very many shore excursions at various ports and my wife and granddaughter took several and enjoyed them. All in all a good cruise up until the Saturday we left the ship. We felt queasy once we debarked off of the ship but thought it was just us getting our landlegs back. Sunday morning it got worse with an added headache for my wife and I and associated bathroom problems. We went to the doctor on Monday and were told that we both had the flu which due to the fact that we were on the ship all week must have been contracted there. Like I said a good cruise but the follow up week has been terrible. Read Less

Shows were the same 70/80's. They need something different. Dancers and singers were amazing and the best I've heard yet! My balcony cabin was super clean and staff was very friendly and talkative! Even reminded us to take sunscreen due to the sun! Played in the casino almost every night. Not really a big gambler but was on vacation so why not. I give the casino staff from the bartenders to waitstaff to the casino host a AAAAAAAA+++++++! They took time to chat and were so very friendly! I also tried the Chef's Table! $95 a person which came to $112 a person after gratuities! By far the best experience ever! The chef and assistants were just top notch amazing! They really wanted to know how everything was and wanted feedback. This experience lasted for 3 hours with an amazing tour of the kitchen. We also saw the famous melting chocolate cake being made! At the end we received a picture of the chef and our whole table plus received the receipt of the cake! Getting off and on the ship was very easy and organized! We did have to wait a bit just because there were so many people getting off. Did a shore excursion through carnival! Again, very organized with letting us know were to be at a certain time so we could go off the ship together. Overall great cruise!! Its a beauty of a ship and you can tell staff care as at almost every island we stopped at the crew would be cleaning and panting the outside!! Read Less

Overall this was a fun family vacation. Embarkation and disembarking were smooth. Our room was nice and the room steward was great. Camp Ocean for our 4 & 6-year-olds was awesome and gave us parents a much-needed break. I really appreciated being able to send them to dinner at night when we ate in the dining room. We had Any time dining - we did have to wait several times to be seated but it wasn't too long. We had different waiters every time, with service varying from excellent to okay. We enjoyed the Lip Sync Battle & comedians for evening entertainment but really did not like the Flick show. The female singers were good but the male singers not so much. Reminded me of an okay high school production. We did the dolphin encounter at Ocean World in Amber Cover which I would highly recommend. Everyone in our group from 4-70 enjoyed it. We also enjoyed San Juan & Amber Cove. Only negative was smoking on the ship - the balcony next to us smoked outside all the time. I called to complain and nothing was done. Also, Deck 11 was terrible for smoking which we needed to use to get up to the Water Park with my kids. I also was almost hit with some cigarette ash when walking on Deck 5 at night. Carnival - just ban smoking or only limit it to the Casino. Read Less

Embarkation was smooth and we boarded the ship very quickly. We parked at the port that also added to the convenience. Our first meal was as at the Seaside BBQ. The BBQ was very good (chicken, pork and beef). The BBQ beans were not good. There were 4 in our group and we were all in agreement about the beans. My wife and Ihave been on over 12 cruises each. We have become complacent with the food. Over the past several years the main dining entrees have remained the same. Therefore, we do not eat in the main dining room every evening. We did eat the first elegant night and the service was great. The staff always called us by our name and we're very friendly. The food was good, but the lobsters are small and slightly over cooked which causes them to be tough/chewy. I had the Maui Maui and the sea bass on the trip and both were very good. We also had the flat iron steak and it was tough. Our favorite meal is having breakfast in the Plush dining room. The food is much better than the Lido breakfast. The eggs are cooked to order and the French toast is delicious. Manfredo provided great service at breakfast. I did eat breakfast a few times on Lido. I few times I got a lump of uncooked goo in my scrambled eggs. I enjoyed the musical entertainment on the ship. Travis played in the Red Frog Pub and was very good. We also listened to Patrick in the Piano Bar. He puts a lot of energy in his show. However, it is definitely 18+. Maybe 24+. Please do not take the kids, adults only. The Variety Violins playing in the Atrium were also very good for an alternative style of music. We did spend some time on the Lido deck around the main pool. It was very crowded and difficult to find a chair. Carnival does not prevent people from saving chairs early in the morning and not showing up until 10:00 or later. We also went to the Serenity deck and it was nice but still difficult to find an open seat. The four of us did the Turtle Cove excursion in St. Thomas. It was a good trip and we saw a lot of turtles. There were not a lot of fish. I guess the turtles ate the fish. The crew on the boat provided great service and very customer friendly. We also went to San Juan, Ambor Cove and Grand Turk. I was disappointed in Grand Turk. The pictures on the internet are much nicer. The beach was over crowed and a little trashy. I saw cups, beer bottle, broken glass and horse poop on the beach. The beer at Margeritaville is over priced. $32.99 + 18% gratuity and 11% tax. The waiter made sure we new the price before being seated. I di not think it was possible for ship beer to be cheaper, but it was. The shopping area was very clean, but don't expect any bargains. Debarkation on the final day was great. We do the self assist. We are Platinum and we met in the dining room at 6:30 and we were getting off the ship at 7:00 and I was in my car by 7:30. Overall, we had a great trip. Carnival provides a great experience for the price. Read Less
