Had a wonderful time on the Breeze! The ship is very well designed and only 1 floor had an obstruction where we couldn't go forward to aft completely. The décor is reminiscent of a summer beach with a golden sun shining down and was very relaxing. The bed mattresses were very comfy. The lido deck furniture was very nice and comfy. There were plenty of seats for everyone, except on the serenity deck which was very popular of course. The Thrill Theater is not to be missed, even though is an additional cost and was very fun. The sky course was great although for some reason the easy side was blocked off on a few sections, forcing myself on the more difficult side (300lbs weight limit for the harnesses if you are wondering) My Mom and I arrived a day early from the sailing to enjoy the Kennedy Space Center in Port Canaveral. I highly recommend going if you haven't before. We were the first to arrive and stayed all day till they closed. All the exhibits were wonderful and well worth the trip. There are lots of shuttles to the port terminals if you need a ride and even Uber operates in the area if for some reason you have trouble with a shuttle. Embarkation was a bit hectic even with the appointment times. The staff didn't bother to actually look at our ticket and ushered us into the early/late line which wasn't moving instead of the on time line. Once we got the attention of a staff member and asked about which line we should be in and got into the correct line, everything went smoothly. I love that all the sail and sign cards came already punched for lanyards, which everyone seems to have accepted now, although I would suggest bringing your own lanyard to save some money. Disembarkation was fine, although was made worse by people who clearly weren't following instructions and leaving before their deck/zone was called causing a severe back log in the lobby/terminal. We were in cabin 10207 on Deck 10 which was a great spot for us. The views from the balcony were great and unobstructed in any way. really enjoyed being close enough to the Lido deck that we didn't have to travel far to get to the fun. There were no distrubances on the decks above of below and being far away from the elevator, it was really peaceful. However being so close to the bow of the ship, you can feel the ship's movement quite a bit, so if you are prone to seasickness I wouldn't recommend it. We were dining in the Blush restaurant on the upper level for the late dining and the service was fantastic! Gary was our headwaiter and he was hilarious, even doing crazy dances when the staff performed. Joseph also attended to our table and he was wonderful and very attentive. Zero complaints about the service, but the food was not anything special. I tried different dishes every night and they were not particularly flavorful and sometimes the descriptions on the menu were misleading. I recommend ordering more side/appetizers in case you don't enjoy the main dish. We also dined in the Cucina Del Capitano and Farenheit 555 restaurants. Cucina wasn't anything special, but the bread was really good. Farenheit's service was impecable and food really fancy, although the cowboy steak which was the largest on the menu, was fatty and bone in. The entertainment onboard was as expected, not too fancy but fun if you cut them slack considering what they have to work with. I really liked the Motown show and was looking forward to the Flick: The motion picture show, but unfortunately they only did a stripped down version of the Flick show because they almost cancelled it due to the rough seas. The stars James, Naomi, and Seth were troopers and performed the songs anyway for us, but just sang the songs and sat on barstools on stage as it was too dangerous to use their props. The fun squad did all the usual activities and kept the mood upbeat. The CD Chris "Donkey" Salazar was quite funny and charismatic. Only complaint was that for the Clue Mystery game they didn't hand out the Clue cards at the event and I had to ask around to try to track one down, but ended up not getting one and eventually gave up. Also Jess, the lady who ran the bingo sessions, has the same jokes for each bingo session. Like word for word the same jokes in the same order too. Room service was wonderful. Our steward Harri was very attentive and helped up when we lost a bathing suit in the laundry (our fault not theirs). He throughly cleaned our stateroom each day and didn't miss a beat. Ports of Call: Cozumel: Snuba Wish I chose a different one in the end. We ended up getting sick cause we couldn't equalize our ears due to sinus issues and my Mom ended up throwing up due to the depths we were going to and the pressure in her ears. I DO NOT RECOMMEND if you have any issues with sinuses, clearing your ears, etc as this can be quite painful. I wish I knew this before we booked it cause we would have gone with a different one. Excursion was not far from the pier and it is just a very small stretch of craggy beach, so no real place to kick back and relax afterwards. Considering it was a Cozumel Plus cruise, I wish I had gone with an excursion that lasted longer to make the most use of our time there. Belize: Xunantunich Mayan Ruins with Lunch Great excursion to the ruins, although it did last literally the whole day. You are the first people on the tender to the pier and the last people to arrive. Don't plan on getting shopping done in Belize with this excursion. There is a small pulley operated ferry to get across a river to get to the ruins and in bad weather it can be closed and if that happens they either give you refund or take you to a different Mayan ruins. Expect a 2hr bus ride on an air conditioned bus with a bathroom each way. Climbing the Mayan Ruins was optional so if you aren't up to the leg workout to get to the top you can observe from the bottom. Great excursion to do once if you have never been to Belize before as it gives a great view of the countryside and cultural lessons. Mahogany Beach (Roatan, Honduras): Maya Key private beach with lunch This was my favorite port of call as the terminal has a craft market area for local artisans to sell their wares. I enjoyed getting to support the local artists in a direct way rather than shopping at the more mainstreams stores that appear at every port. We took a 15 minute boat tender to the island and were given the intro by the island guide. We could wander over the whole island and enjoy their animal zoo, beaches, pool, snorkeling, and animal encounters and feedings. They have a large, clean bathrooms and lockers to rent. The island was only at like 25% capacity so we had our choice of beach chairs and could stretch out, which was a nice contrast to cruise ship life. The beach itself wasn't too sandy though so make sure you bring water shoes. We signed up for a snorkeling session and went out with the group led by a guide. The corals were quite nice but very close so we had to be careful and my Mom ended up stung by coral when the current got stronger and knocked her into the coral. Only big complaint here was that the instructors were moving quite fast and didn't tell the group to inflate their snorkeling vests so a kid was out there struggling till the group realized he didn't have it inflated. They were moving so fast to get our group out there that they didn't give full instructions so we just relied on our previous excursions instructions to guide us. The lunch here was quite excellent as well and the animals were adorable. Wish we had even more time here so we could just relax all day on the beach. Costa Maya: Catamaran Sail and Snorkel Bad weather put a damper on this port of call for us. Ship docked really early and we had to be one of the first off to get to this excursion. They take a travel bus to the pier where you board a catamaran. They have marine toilets on board, but no real changing area so make sure you are already wearing a bathing suit or prepare to change in a cramped, swaying bathroom. They were taking us to their first snorkeling location, but a rain storm was coming in so they took us 30 minutes in the opposite direction to avoid the storm, but we still got rained on and the tarp covering the boat was not water proof so everyone and everything got wet. The location they took us to was deep, but the water was clear. They tried breaking us up into two groups based on experience, but we ended up blending together anyway. BE WARNED, there are jellyfish in the water. Not the big ones, but they did sting and it was hard to see them in advance to avoid them. The guides were great and did their best, but the water conditions were pretty cruddy and the swells were getting bigger and bigger. Thank goodness we were wearing full life vests and not just snorkeling vests. Overall, it was a wonderful cruise and I would definitely travel on the Breeze again. Read Less

This was an anniversary/birthday cruise for my wife and I. We have been cruising since 2003 with Carnival, and have always had a great time until this last trip. First off, the ship was crowded, with lots of extended families and kids (which was strange to me since it was the first week in December and school was not out for the holidays). Encountered a lot more people than usual who did not have any etiquette in public (especially in food lines and public areas). Our room steward and the cruise entertainment director were great, as were the bartenders at the Atrium lounge. The staff in the jewelry store were extremely pushy while we were just looking (which is a big turn-off for me), and a lot of the buffet staff were not personable at all. And forget about going to the disco after 11:30 unless your into "Trap" and "Mumble" rap music. The one night we did go we arrived at 1030. The DJ was playing 80's and 90's dance music, and the club was hoping. Then at 11:30 the music and the atmosphere changed so we quickly left. The last issue really caught me by surprise. When we arrived back at our room on the last night, tour itemized sail and sign card statement was in the door box. I reviewed it and everything was correct, so I put it in my bag. The next morning we ate breakfast and then self-disembarked from the ship. My Visa card was charged an additional $22 dollars x 2 on the last morning, which I did not find out until several days later when checking my credit card statement and saw the additional charges (which had posted and already been paid two days prior). I requested an itemized statement from Carnival, and when I received it there were two $22 charges described as robes/towels/books. When my wife called Carnival to inquire about these charges, they stated it was for 2 pool towels. My wife and I are both retired cops, and have never taken anything from a cruise ship, much less 2 pool towels. I disputed the charges with Chase, and as of today I received a reply starting that they investigated the issue, and that Carnival stated they supplied a service or product, so Chase is not going to take the charges off. How do you dispute such as charge when there is no way to prove we did not take the towels. The 2 pool towels were left in the room folded up on the little stool by the desk when we left the last morning. I hope Carnival is happy with the additional $44 dollars l they got from me, because it will certainly be the LAST TIME I cruise with Carnival. This was the final straw in a vacation that should have been awesome, but came up way short. Beware when you leave that you take a picture with your phone of what is left in your room when you leave. I felt the dining room service and stateroom steward were excellent. Both were better than what we have had on last few previous cruises. Embarkation & disembarkation for wheelchair assistance was poor at Port Canaveral. They only had one elevator that all wheelchair and people with baby strollers had to use and really slowed down being able to get of the ship. Also they did not have enough people to get the wheelchair people on & off the ship. Food was very good in the main dinng room. Enjoyed the Carnival excursions that we went on. Ancient Culture/Mayan Ruins was very interesting in Cozumel, Xunantunich Mayan Ruins in Belize was great but it is a very long day 2 to 2-1/2 hours bus ride each way and excursion was late getting back. The Select Retreat & Mayan Wellness in Costa Maya was awesome. The Relax on the Beach in Isla Roatan was Ok. Read Less

The ship was nice, we had an OS (7276). Our cabin steward, I Made was great. Embarkation was a little slow considering we had priority suite privilege. People were packed in the terminal and there were no seats in the priority waiting area. The food was OK but nothing great. Lots of breaded, fried food offerings. The service in the main dining room was slow. We spent 2-21/2 hrs each night. They really weren't that busy. Had problems getting a beverage (unless it was booze). Our orders were messed up a couple of times. The entertainment was pretty good. Enjoyed the comedy club and the violin trio that performed at the afternoon tea and in the lobby area. Very good. The beverage service in the casino was very poor. Ordered from 3 different servers hoping one of them would show up with my drink. Waited anywhere from 20 minutes to 1/2 hr to get drink. The ashtrays were always overflowing and empty drink glasses everywhere, they just didn't clean stuff up. Did the cultural, museum tour in Amber Cove. Spent a lot of time standing around waiting for the tour guide to get things moving. He took us to a tiny shop where he was pushing jewelry and other trinkets. Literally spent 50 minutes there. When we finally got to the fort we had 10 minutes to explore because we were so far behind schedule. We were late getting back to the ship. Debarkation was a nightmare. They called zones 12345 at the same time. Very difficult to get an elevator to the 3rd deck and when we got there we couldn't get off the elevator because it was so packed with people. Stood in the doorway of the elevator about 10 minutes before we could squeeze out into the crowd. Very disorganized. I could go but I think you get the drift. Read Less

This cruise left out of Cape Canaveral. We arrived on time for our 11:30 am "appointment time" and embarkation went very smoothly, in fact the the smoothest I've experienced. We were on the boat in no time and found a seat on the deck on the opposite side of BBQ place. We got a few drinks from the nearby bar and some excellent BBQ and relaxed there until our cabin was ready around 1:30 pm. We had second floor port hole cabin # 2216. The cabin was clean and much larger than I was expecting. The water we ordered was in the room when we arrived, our gold status VIFP water and pin came the following day. The VIFP drink vouchers that were in our room had someone else's name on them but the correct cabin number causing us to briefly think we were in the wrong room LOL and considering we had already unpacked most of our stuff it was a brief moment of panic haha. The vouchers turned out to be incorrect and we received new ones a day or two later. The boat is large and was in over all good condition. The food was overall very good and we really enjoyed the taco's and burgers. I was disappointing that the excellent and included Tandoori restaurant had been replaced with an extra cost seafood restaurant. We had anytime dining and rarely had a wait for a table, the food was overall very good and the service was fine but not as good as it has been on some other boats in the past. The casino was so packed all the time that it made even crossing thru a bit of a challenge, but good for Carnival as I'm sure they were raking in the gambling money. We only went to one comedy show and it was pretty good. We went to all of the playlist production shows and they were descent but corny. The performers gave it there all and were very enthusiastic especially Jay. Our biggest complaint on this boat was the overwhelming amount of smoking areas. I have never been on a cruise ship before that had so many smoking areas and smokers for that matter. There were so many smoking areas that it was difficult to find an area to sit away from the cigarette smoke and we found that was a major negative in our experience on this boat and our ability to finds spots to relax on deck or enjoy the pool side movies. Getting on and off the beat at the ports was a breeze (none of the ports on this route had tenders). The staff around the boat and in the shops were pleasant and attentive. The disembarkation was a complete mess. We ported our own luggage off the boat and we didn't make it off the boat until 11 am. The only floors that had been called when we disembarked were 11,12 ,1 and 2 for self debarkation and only tag/zone #'s 1,2,and 3 so god knows how long it took the rest of the people on the boat to finally get off? The cruise director was blaming customs but she had made multiple announcements right after the initial floors were called for people to follow the rules, so who knows? Read Less

Was anxious the first night mainly due to the darkness at night when looking out but after my initial wobble I loved it so much we booked again . Guys burgers are great the food court offers plenty of choice . Visited spa twice and loved that experience . We had some beautiful photos done they were of good quality . Would return again in heartbeat .. would given a 5/5 had it not been the fact my credit card had way more taken than should and took ages to get back !!! Valuable lesson learned go cash account !! I had orebooked and paid spas and had cruise cash on account . For whatever crazy reason carnival took authorisations on my card for way more than was ever owed . Lesson learnt cash account for me on any future cruises !! Read Less

We have cruised many times with Carnival and been happy until this cruise on the Breeze. Our room stewards were the worst we've ever had - missing doing our room; no toilet paper; not replacing glasses, etc. It was very surprising and disappointing. We also found the food was of poor quality. There were the same salads in the Lido deck all week at both lunch and dinner. The dining room staff was great but because of the poor food quality we choice to go with the Lido deck but the quality there wasn't any better unfortunately. Most - not all - bar staff were very indifferent. Every other Carnival Cruise we have been very happy with the staff friendliness and helpfulness but not this cruise. Itinerary was good and comedians were awesome. Embarkation as a Platinum member was awesome very quick. Debarkation was self assist and also very quick. Read Less

I’ve never been so disappointed in customer service on a cruise line. We had the unfortunate situation of being placed next door to an individual that was experiencing a mental illness breakdown. Carnival allowed the situation to go on just over 24 hours after being notified, being made aware of the imminent danger it was placing elderly passengers and young children that became frightened after hearing the man screaming out he was going to kill everyone around him. Security finally moved him to another cabin once fellow passengers demanded it for their safety. After contacting guest services repeatedly(as stated by the head of guest relations, Carnival has no responsibility of how fellow passengers behave nor resulting consequences of their behavior), I called Carnival’s 1-800 number while in port to report the situation. To my dismay, they advised they could not do anything regarding a ship at sea and referred me back to guest relations. While this incident casted a shadow on the entire cruise, the ship itself and dining room staff were in top order. Just wished Carnival had handled this differently. Outside of this experience, the dining staff was very attentive. Buffet lines for breakfast and lunch were unusually long when compared to other cruise lines. Pizza bakers never seemed to be able to keep up with demand. Beware of the drink package. While it states you can have a drink up to $20, they insist on giving you the low end brands and will cut the pour in half if you demand top shelf. When they do that, it makes certain drinks taste off balance since they're using the same amount of mix. Probably would be best to avoid the package unless you plan to consume the daily allowance. Ship always had something going on for both young and old. Due to the security issue and dealing with frightened kids, my kids stuck close to the cabin. The ship itself was clean and had a nice layout. Not a lot of shops compared to other cruise lines. Read Less

I chose this cruise as the reviews for Breeze are decent from past cruisers, it will tour 8 islands in S Caribbean, 6 of them I never been. Carnival is famous at FUN, but this ship has no fun at all. No fun activity, early dining 5:30pm always had mile long waiting line, then waited 1 hr for the waiters to serve 1 night, so I only been 3 formal dining’s entire cruise. Food is terrible, super salty without choices. I have been eating popcorn for dinner. Nothing is good on this ship, the worse cruise experience I ever had. I have never seen so many scorers & wheel chairs in my entire life, I feel like I’m in nursing home or assisted living facility. If you are young & active looking for a fun vacation, please don’t waste your time & money on 14 days journey cruise with breeze, you are better off to take two 7 days back to back cruise. Firstly this was a 'journeys cruise' which basically means longer itineraries and ports not usual for carnival to visit. As this was a straight 14 day cruise we expected it to be slightly different. The majority of people on this cruise were older then the usual mix found on carnival, in fact there were over 2000 platinum and diamond guests, hardened long life carnival cruisers, average age 60-80. It wasn't really noticible about the age group/demographic until you notice that by 11.30 most of them were in bed and the nightclub (usually rammed) had about 5 people in it! Even though this wasn't a standard carnival cruise we had a blast, 9 ports in 14 days. The entertainment as always on carnival was fantastic, on sea days you were never short of something fun to do, the 'fun squad' were relentless in making this days go by with fun and laughter. The ship; loved the breeze although we found it a bit annoying that you had to go through a very smoke filled casino to navigate from one end of the promenade deck (where most bars etc are located) to the atrium the other end, bad design in my opinion. The food was pretty standard, not brilliant but ok, the frustration with the food was that for lunch gathered were so many places to eat, BBQ, Mexican, Tandoor, buffet, guys burgers etc but in the evening you had three choices, main dining, and two fee paid options the steakhouse (impossible to get a reservation) and the Italian. This would not probably be an issue on your standard 7 night cruise but over 14 days things became very limited, and the buffet choice in the evening was very small and poor. Overall we had a great trip but would definitely think twice before booking a journeys cruise again, nothing wrong with it but just not the age group for us! Read Less

I was on this cruise as part of a hosted singles cruise with a group of over 100 people. I had a great time and no complaints about anything to do with the ship or guest services. Had late dining and ate dinner in the main dining room six of seven nights. Have zero complaints about any of the food. Enjoyed alligator and ox tounge among the more rare things I ate. Among other food I really enjoyed the seaside BBQ and was glad I was able to get it more than one day. Tandoor indian food was a nice surprise that a friend recommended and I'm glad she did. Guys Burgers and Blue Iguana breakfast were good as is the usual. Didn't make it to any of the comedy shows, but the quest game was hilarious and I am totally doing that again. The full band playing on ocean plaza (deck 5 mid) was really good and had lots of people dancing. Received decent enough service at Casino bar, Red Frog Rum bar, and Alchemy bar. I think the very best service was at Red Frog Pub. That place with busy some nights with baseball fans watching the World Series and I still got my drinks fast pretty much every time. Sports square was a nice touch for the ship's outdoor activities, although I didn't actually do the ropes course or any of the waterslides. I love the hottubs on serenity deck with a bar right there. Our ports of call were: Amber Cove, St Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk. Experienced no problems with any of these ports or getting on/off the ship. The Carnival Breeze seems to have something for everyone and I would totally recommend this ship for someone's first experience on Carnival. Not as hectic as the newer and larger Vista and Horizon, and not as run-down looking as some of the older Carnival ships. Had an awesome time. Read Less

A trip for my son ( his first cruise) and I. The ship was in good shape and well taken care of. the dining food fare was OK at best; nothing special. Dining Staff worked hard as always but food needs to be better. Perhaps simpler meal like Spaghetti, Goulash, Meatloaf would help? We really enjoyed Amber Cove and Grand Turk! Grand Turk is a great stop I'd like to go back to for sure and enjoy their beach and pool located at end of the pier. St Thomas was very nice and the forts and old churches in San Juan were wonderful too. The Halloween Party was great! A Cruise with Halloween involved is always fun, fun, fun! The costumes, party atmosphere and host Schwartz, were all well done! The scene was festive for Halloween and the costumes were fun and grand. All in all a great adventure for us. Read Less

Cruised with a group of six couples. The ship was beautiful, well maintained and clean. Long lines for food. No reservations available for the pay steak house for the duration of the cruise. No food after 10 or 11pm except for pizza, which there is always a long wait for. Witnessed a fight while waiting in line for pizza at 2pm. The food in the main dining room and buffet were generic and sub par. The wait staff were excellent. The balcony room was clean and comfortable. Entertainment was good. Shore excursions and ports of call were disappointing as best (Cozumel, Belize City, Roatan, Costa Maya). You had to hire a ride, bus or pay for an excursion to go to any beaches or diving experiences. The one excursion we paid for in Costa Maya was cancelled due to contracted operational issues. We paid for another excursion that brought us to a filthy beach/pool. I would not book this cruise again or sail to any of these ports of call again. Read Less

We were looking for a cruise to take my 83 year old mother-in-law on that would be something that she would enjoy. We chose the Western Caribbean because we always enjoy those ports and we were hopeful that she would too. We like the Dream class ships since they offer a good variety of eating venues and entertainment. We ended up having a total of 7 people in 3 rooms. First - embarkation was the easiest we have ever experienced. Normally we try to get FTTF, but it was not available this trip plus we didn't think those traveling with us would be willing to pay the extra fee. We arrived at the port around 10:30 and were on the ship by 11:45. We got to the port early thinking we would have to deal with traffic, but that was not the case so they sent us through the line for early arrivals. Once they started boarding it didn't take more than 20 minutes for our zone to be called. Lugging around our carry-on was a bit of a pain, but not too bad. We had lunch and walked around for a little while to explore the ship. By the time we were able to get to the room around 1:30 our luggage was there, very easy! Our room was a Spa Balcony and very nice. Loved the layout and the amount of storage space. We unpacked and stored our luggage under the bed and went off to explore some more and catch up with the others that were arriving a little later. We had dinner in the main dining room and did some more exploring and visiting before heading to bed. Day 2 - This was a sea day and we spent some time in the Serenity area, visited the spa and did the Sky Course in addition to more visiting and exploring. Very relaxed day! Day 3 - Cozumel We booked an excursion to Chankanaab Park from an outside vendor and spent the day on the beach and snorkeling. The snorkeling was pretty good and the time at the park was nice. We headed back to the port and walked through some shops before boarding the ship. Day 4 - Belize This day looked a little stormy so we decided not to go ashore. We had considered booking Goff's Caye, but the forecast wasn't looking great so we opted to just hang around the ship. Day 5 - Roatan We booked Little French Key through Carnival because we had some onboard credit to use. It was an OK excursion. They offered a snorkel excursion from shore that wasn't spectacular. The beach area was rocky (old coral) in some areas, but the water was beautiful. Lunch was OK. The bus trip to and from LFK was informative. Day 6 - Costa Maya We walked around the shops in port with the older members of our party. It was hot and humid, so we didn't spend a lot of time ashore. This was our first time at this port because it was cancelled the last time we did this itinerary. I would like to go back to explore when we didn't have the older members of the party to consider. Day 7 - Sea Day #2 was nice except for having to pack to return home. We went to the debarkation talk since this was the first time we have experienced the new process. We were kind of bummed that we got Zone 15 by the time we knew where to get the zone tags. Next time we will be able to get a lower number! I should have paid more attention to what others had posted on Cruise Critic!! Debarkation - They stated that the expected time to begin debarkation was 8:15, but it happened earlier than that. I really didn't note the time. Since we had the luggage for my MIL we had to do the checked luggage since we couldn't carry off everything. It went pretty quickly and we were on the road by probably 9:00 AM. We got a porter to help us take the luggage to the car, which got us through the customs line in just a few minutes. It was a breeze! Other thoughts - This was our second time cruising with Schwartz. In my opinion, he is the best cruise director we have ever had. He is personable and approachable as well as high-energy. We went to the Country Show, 88 Keys and Flick, which we have seen before. Once you have seen them, you've seen them, so nothing new there. Everyone in our group really enjoyed the food in the main dining room. We had Your Time Dining and never had to wait to get a seat. The other food venues were good as well. We did not eat in any of the extra fee restaurants. The seas were very calm and the weather was great. Another great cruise with Carnival! Read Less

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. The stops were all awesome. We stayed in a Grand Suit which has plenty of space for my family of 4. Both the embarkation and debarkation was extremely smooth and almost no waiting. The boat itself had plenty of things to do. The comedy show and Lip Synch battle was great. They had a Halloween theme so there were lots of extra activities with that. During the day music by the pool or activities would go on. I'd recommend getting a seat by the beach pool because it's so much fun. The buffet food for dinner wasn't always the greatest selection but you didn't go hungry. We chose to eat dinner in the dining room most nights. This was not a quick process and expect it to take at least an hour and a half/2 hours. The food was always tasty there. The upgraded steakhouse was delicious and I loved everything about it. I definitely recommend going. Every worker on the boat was very friendly and nice. They would stop and say hi and make sure everything was going well. Our room steward with Ludo, very nice Both my kids begged to go or stay at the Camp Ocean which is the kids club. Dominique in the younger kids area was super nice and my daughter loved seeing her every day. My oldest got to go on stage during the lip synch battle and loved that experience. As far as the stops we did the following: Amber Cove: stayed at the pool, great for young kids St Thomas: took a private taxie to Meghan's Bay San Juan: Went to the Marriott booked through resortforaday.com Grand Turk: sat right off the boat and went to Margarita Ville Read Less

We had a group of 12 for my parents anniversary cruise - we were able to get an amazing table that fit the 12 of us (333) in Sapphire every night (just had to be there early) - The wait staff was amazing Nenad and Ferdinand were friendly, funny and on point! One in our group was gluten free - every night they asked what she wanted the next day we could even order something for breakfast if she wanted to go to the main dining room. The only port we weren't super impressed with was San Juan - seemed very Americanized and not a lot for the kids in our group to do so they ended up staying on the boat. The pool areas at Amber Cove and Grand Turks were amazing - perfect for young kids. In Amber Cove half of our group did the waterfalls - instead of booking through the ship we got a taxi and paid for it when we got to the falls - came out to about $75 per person and it was an amazing experience - highly recommend - there were a few options - 7 falls (which you climb UP) 17 falls or 27 falls- we did the 17 falls - be forewarned it was a strenuous 30-40 minute hike, but it was totally worth it - we jumped off 3 "cliffs" into water and a few natural slides. It was awesome. The kids programs were great for the kids (one 5 and one 7) a few times when we went to pick them up they didn't want to leave! For the room - Jay was our room steward and he was the best - always super friendly when we saw him throughout the day and kept the cabin spic and span which is hard to do with 2 little kids! We didn't find main entertainment shows night the best but Rebecca at the piano bar was amazing - great voice and funny! One of the best things was we had 4 rooms right in a row and were able to connect the balcony's - so nice to get room service in the morning and sit and drink coffee on our decks with everyone in our party! Embarkation, smooth, easy, peaceful. Disembarkation was a mess, we were asked to change sides of the ovation theater 3 times. We told them to figure it out, and then tell us what they decided. Our letter said one place, the man in charge another and the lady sent the 4 of us across the room, all with our bags and 3 suitcases. The main entrees were good but anyone with teeth problems would like the potatoes and vegetables cooked not almost raw. At one point we were about 30 in line to get into the dining room, just maybe they need two hostesses to get people seated, when we left same long line waiting. People don't like to wait in lines especially elderly with bad knees and people with small children. Then you can't tell who is in line for the dining room and who is waiting on an elevator. This was our 9th cruise so it had been a step down from past cruises. I would recommend different color carpets on the odd hall way and the even hallway. There are signs facing the stairs, but none as you leave the elevators. Ports and excursions were interesting, fun but there need to be more golf carts available for those who are walking with canes or artificial hips. Cabin, bathrooms, beds, deck all wonderful no complain, the rooms were clean and well attended. The restrooms near the restaurant had stalls with doors 3 inches from the toilet seat. One other big disappointment, the shows, it was artificial pianos and guitars and lip sinc to the songs. The country was not distinguishable from the pop songs. So disappointing, the activities for kids was the best, the snacks and movies and the excursions were well enjoyed by our teens. Read Less

This was an anniversary celebration cruise for us, and we wanted to see some of the eastern Caribbean. The ship was clean, and well laid out. The staff was always helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the dining options (anytime dining was great). The melting chocolate cake was divine as was the heart shaped cake and serenade by our wait crew for our anniversary. Our wait staff team was exceptional. They remembered our names and brought my husband his favorite beverage each night even before we ordered anything. The entertainment was really really great, with a very entertaining cruise director. The entertainment was staff was wonderful. The variety of activities meant there was something for pretty much everyone. We enjoyed being able to talk with them after their shows. Although we did not travel with children, we saw them being well cared for and entertained as well. We snorkeled in Grad Turk - beautiful clear waters and a variety of fish and coral to see. We did not do excursions at the other ports of call, but did enjoy the relaxing pool area & restaurants at Amber Cove including the zip line! We walked around St. Thomas and San Juan. We would do a cruise on the Breeze again. We were totally impressed at how smoothly and quickly they turned the ship around for 4700 passengers! Read Less

As stated, this was my first cruise. I spent 20 years in the US Navy, so I was accustomed to being at sea, but my wife had not been to sea before. We selected a balcony room(9403)after being upgraded from the second deck room for $51, which was a great deal. The ship was wonderful, clean and there was always crew members cleaning. The room was ready when they opened up the rooms. Our baggage was waiting for us when we arrived to the room. The water I ordered was there, our sign and sail cards were in the mailbox and the daily activities. Dining: Well, to be honest, the buffet was a lot better than the main dining room. We were assigned the "Blush" dining room, which is on the 3/4 deck aft. The wait staff tried to compensate for the food quality, it was obvious. Presentation was well done however. The chicken breasts were terrible, hard and flat. Baked potato undercooked and the famous Lava cake was like hot chocolate, not cooked enough, it was drinkable. BTW, Domino's lava cake is a lot better. Buffet: Very very good, lots of choices, and the 8oz flat iron steak was available just like in the dining room. I went to the italian restaurant on a sea day and it was free for lunch, as u have to pay extra like the steakhouse. That was the best meal I had onboard, and they gave us a very nice portion of eggplant parm. The best I ever had. Guy's burgers was excellent and the mexican restaurant on the lido deck by the pool has breakfast burritos and Huevos rancheros, which was very good. Again, the food was very good, but the main dining room was lacking. Entertainment: We went to the comedy club and it was to capacity. It was good, and a nice break. Lots to do and see. Shops: Generic and they do have sales that you can get in on like perfumes, t shirts watches ect. Service was great, and all the crew were very helpful. I was pleased with the service Overall: I was told since the cruise was six days, it would be more laid back, and not a lot of drunk college kids like the shorter " booze cruises" and that was the case. I felt safe the entire time. I would do it again, but spend less evenings in the main dining room. Read Less

He went out of his way to make sure we had enough towels and also bedding for the sofa bed. We also enjoyed Chelsea who we later found out was from the Charlotte NC area which is were we are from. She was a delight with the trivia games and also in the comedy club. Our Cruise director Schwartz was funny and did go out of hiw way to make everyone laugh. This was our first time on the breeze and we had a great time. The layout of the ship was so easy for us to get use to. Had a great time and hope to go back on the breeze again next year. Read Less

We picked this cruise as a gift to celebrate my In-Laws 50th wedding anniversary. Overall the experience was good, but in some areas, it was a little lackluster. The cabins were clean and our stateroom steward was wonderful. Overall the staff on the boat truly were fantastic. From customer service to dining and the Ocean Club crew... every crew member we encountered was wonderful. Zero complaints about the service on this ship! Dining is the one area that could use some improvement. The quality of the evening meals reminded me of airline food. It pains me to say that because cooking for 4000 people is no easy task, but most nights I left dinner underwhelmed. The buffet was mediocre too and there is ALWAYS a line. Again, service was always wonderful, but the food quality was just kind of meh. We did have a celebratory meal at Fahrenheit 555 and it was AMAZING. SO GOOD. And my husband and I departed from the group one night for dinner in the Italian Restaurant, Cucina del Capitano, and it was also delicious. The burgers from Guy Fieri's place were also good. If you pay for internet on this ship, prepare to be severely disappointed and basically be off grid. My husband had some work he had to complete while we were traveling. While I'm big on "unplugging" when on vacation, he didn't have much of a choice. After paying for the premium package, he wasn't able to get any of the work done that he needed to or load half of his inbox. Unfortunately, he was never fully able to relax since he was stressed about the work that he wasn't able to complete because the internet connectivity was AWFUL. Embarking was a little crowded but moved fairly fast. Disembarkation was a hot mess. Lines upon lines upon lines. We paid a porter to move us to a shorter line and move through faster. Luckily we had plenty of time before our flight was leaving MCO, and we all had carry on luggage, so we weren't horribly rushed. But Godspeed to anyone who is in a crunch to get to their travel arrangements and is trying to get off of this boat. Plan accordingly, folks. As far as ports and excursions go, Nassau is a bit of a tourist trap. We opted to explore on our own and encountered lots of shops and a crowded beach where you have to haggle for chairs and umbrellas. In the Dominican Republic, we booked a cabana at Amber Cove... Carnival's port. It was nice and clean, but very American feeling. For Grand Turk, we took a $4/person 4 minute cab ride to a nearby beach that was pretty much empty. Definitely the best part of the trip. Grand Turk made the entire cruise worthwhile. It is beautiful. Next time (and when we aren't with a larger group) I would go out of my way to do shore excursions in Nassau and the DR. This ship and the itinerary were great for families and kids. I really can't say enough good things about the Ocean Club for kids. The staff members were truly fantastic and had the patience of Saints. Our kids kept asking to go! On the note of kids, the arcade was fun too. It is equally financially damaging as the casino, but still fun! The water slides and kids splash area were really nice (and clean). The two pools were gross. Every time I looked at them, they were more of a yellow-green color and people were packed in like sardines. On the note of cleanliness, the boat overall was clean and I almost always saw a staff member doing some sort of cleaning. It was a little discouraging to witness that not a lot of guests took advantage of the hand sanitizing towers/hand washing outside of dining rooms and restaurants. Overall it was a good family experience that allowed everyone in our group the chance to spend time together or break off from the group for some time alone. PS - The library on the 4th level has self-serve wine machines. With Caymus and Duckhorn. Probably my most favorite part of the entire boat. ;) Read Less

Sunday, September 16 - embarkation smooth. Monday, September 17 - sea day Tuesday, September 18 - Sea day ate at steak house and had a professional private sitting with a photographer. They came out beautiful, and that is something I would never say, much less think of pictures of me. Wednesday, September 19 - Grand Cayman - Snuba diving Thursday, September 20 - sea day Friday, September 21 - Aruba downtown walking and tasting tour Saturday, September 22 - Caricao Caves and beach day. Sunday, September 23 - Sea day Monday, September 24th - Greneda- River tubing and scenic bus drive. No AC on run down busses. Very dirty river water. No lockers to store your valuables. We kept hearing stories about people having things stolen from the busses so we left our camera in the safe in our cabin. We decided to bring our phones with us, double ziplock bagged them but unfortunately, the phones didn't make it. Somehow the bag floated out of dh's pocket and ended up at the bottom of the river. We did get them back with a promise of almost $200 to the person who was able to find them. So out $165 and two cellphones. Yes, we tried the "rice thing" to dry them out but they still won't even turn on. Expensive mistake for sure. This, and I developed some weird itchy bug bites all over my legs. Didn't look like Miskito bites but itched for days. Barbados - Tuesday September 25th no excursion. Just stayed in port and walked around a little. Bought sunscreen for $18-ridiculous. No pics because phones are now bricks from river tubing in Grenada. Went back to ship for lunch and then tried to take a nap. Mike was able to nap then he went to gym. I couldn't sleep but laid in be until 6 pm then we went to lido deck. Nothing really looked appetizing so I ate fruit (watermelon and pineapple. Mike had a little of everything. Tortellini, chicken cathitorri, chicken fried steak, fried rice. said the best was he rice. Soon after we tried some luck in casino. I don't get why so many people spend hours on end in there. If it was something that took skill I'd understand more but not the slots. Then we went to the comedy show. It was pretty good. Dominica - Wed 26 th. Trolley ride through town pretty lame. 1 1/2 hrs Botanical gardens , nothing like you'd be used to. Not much to look at. Kind of felt like we were in a parade because people were lined up on the streets waving at us. Houses all in ruins. Got some unique pics. Offered a small glass of rum punch or orange juice. Went to mdr for dinner. St Maarten - Thursday September 27th Big 3 - Flying Dutchman, tubing and canopy zip lining. Beautiful day! Nice, air conditioned bus This will take 6 hrs because of all the waiting. Zip lines very cool, Flying Dutchman not as scary or thrilling as you'd expect. In fact all three of the other zip lines were very thrilling in comparison to the FD. They do have a bar while waiting for the FD, but I do not want to drink rum or beer when I'm exerted from Climbing hills. It wasn't managed well as far as time. Very slow hooking people up and bringing vests back up the hill. The schooner tube rides are very lame. No water. We skipped all together. One thing that irritated quite a few of us. The cruise director, Schwartz, and his friends came up to the fd and realized they probably would not have time to enjoy this particular portion of the excursion. I don’t know if he went up to the manager or if the manager approached him but he and 14 of his crew was pushed ahead of about 30 other cruisers so that they could make it back to the ship at a good time. Unfortunately, this made it so 12 people that were waiting at least 3 hours were not able to enjoy the fd. This excursion also held up the ship for over an hour. (We did get a police escort back to the ship which was kind of neat because it was after 5 pm and lots of traffic). We were very disappointed that we now were not able to do any shopping on the island. By the time we got back on the ship it was just after 5:30 and we were starving since we had no chance to eat lunch, and wanted a real meal so quick showers we had and off to the mdr. There is always so much food that I never have been able to finish my dinner, but tonight was the exception. I had Caesar salad, steak, baked potato and broccoli. (I even had 2 desserts- apple pie and a chocolate tres leche. The apple pie was the better of the 2). Friday, September 28th Sea day - breakfast in bed again thanks to sweet dh. Coffee, orange juice, French toast, pancakes. For lunch we had BBQ and watched a little bit of the ballroom dance lessons. Then we decided to go to the library bar and play some board games while we sampled some wine. Dh taught me how to play Texas hold 'em. I won, hee hee. Decided to back to the cabin and sit out on our patio so that we could be away from all the people but still be outside. Elegant night for dinner. I didn't realize until 4:00pm. Bleh. we've mostly been eating in the mdr because we feel it's the best food on the ship without paying more for it. I still have a dress that I haven't worn so I guess I'll slip it on. Makeup and hair will just need to be touched up a little and then I'm good to go. Read Less

Carnival Breeze 09-16-2018 14 day-Relocation from Galveston TX to Port Canaveral Fl. Journeys Cruise and Premiere Casino Cruise. Room 8395, Starboard Side, 8A Overall Rating of The Cruise 9 out of 10. Embarkation: We expected to be slow because of past experiences at Port of Galveston. It was a good surprise to arrive at 11:00 AM and be onboard by 11:30 AM carrying our boarding pass. Embarkation 5 of 5 Room 8395: Steward Jason had the room ready when we boarded. Jason and Putu timed everything well and had our first Diamond Sail and Sign card in the mail box. I highly recommend Jason and his team to anyone. 5 of 5. This room is located directly over the Pig and Anchor. The exhaust fan has a way of coming on late afternoon so you have to listen to it when setting on the balcony. We ran out of tissues in the rest room so the DW decided to put the new one in herself, oops it fell in under the sink out of reach. So, mister Man decides to do it himself and repeats the same smooth move. Now both new boxes in the room are behind the door under sink and it is inaccessible without the key. Jason came by and saved us later in the day. Assigned Seating Blush dining room, Lower deck 3, table 582. Maître didn’t make the best impression in fact I do not know his name. Is that because we were in the back of the dinning area or have we been spoiled by D’ Yusef on the Miracle? Team Head Waiter IMade, Head Waiter EKA and Team Waiter Dani Made, did their best to make the dining experience as pleasurable as they could. DW and I both noticed changes to the menu and I think it is better than previous cruises. Sure, miss Pie, didn’t see that on the menu until the last two nights. On the 6th day out the ship ran out of bananas, waiter told us that we were out and would restock in St Marteen. Oh! that’s not good, no Banana Splits for desert ☹. Carnival what the heck! Why not restock in Barbados where the supply chain that supports Carnival Fascination is in place. Why have bar server in dining area who just serves shots let the Food Servers do their job and Bar staf serve wine before the meal. Chef’s table; This was our second time to sign up for the Chef’s Table and was a little apprehensive about it. After signing all the necessary paperwork to enter the Kitchen we were escorted in and stood around a table as the chef explained each appetizer before we sampled them. Now that our palate is excited. We moved to the main hall in the Kitchen where they had a table set with assigned seating. Executive Chef Siva prepared an exclusive selection of eight expertly crafted dishes. Oh! wonderful, delicious just don’t know how to describe it, “Artists at work” . Salute to Chef Siva for this fine experience. Casino: As a nonsmoker there is a lot of opportunity for improvement on the Breeze. Why only 4 nonsmoking machines in the casino? Why put them in front of the cashier cage? People in line at the cage smoke and seldom respect others. This was a Premiere cruise many serious gamblers were aboard and casino was busy all the time. Kumbu, Lesa and Vickie kept the fun rolling doing everything from dodging the bull, putting spots on Matilda the cash cow, Fireball raffles, snowball raffles, Luck of the card drawing, cash pong and fill my bag games. Oh, need I mention slot and blackjack tournaments also. Fun for everyone! One afternoon I was playing a slot machine and witnessed Mari (Casino Manager?) helping a gambler who forgot she had charged $20 on her card. This person was extremely eye rate, voice tress, and rude yet Mari kept her cool, resolved the issue in such a professional manor I feel she needs to be recognized. Silvia, was always around to help. Waiter Agus was always at work, always smiling and would help any way he could. Last but not lease have to mention the singing Cashier Joe. This is the best Casino team in the Carnival fleet. Wish they could get more cashiers working the last night so the lines would not be so long. Misc. Cruise Particulars: Daniel Alchemist put on a great class this Cruise. This was our second one on a Carnival Ship and both we unique experiences that I highly recommend. Alchemy bar is changing they now are serving some bear and wine. Red frog pub in the evening is always a good place to stop, relax listen to music. For those who use Carnival Gift cards there are some changes. You can apply the first $1,000 with out a hitch but when you get ready to apply more they will take down the numbers and must receive confirmation from head office before applying to your account. This means you will have to make a return trip with the cards next day to confirm head office approval. Laundry is a great advantage of being Diamond or Platinum and those who work below deck to support that effort deserve a pat on the back. Carnival needs to work on the hand sanitizers. When boarding the ship there is no reason that a functional hand sanitizer station cannot be set up prior to entering the ship or at least just after going thru the metal detector. Prior to entering any of the dining areas including lido hand sanitizer stations should be functional. Over all this was a great Cruise. Will rate it a 9 of 10 Read Less

This 14 day cruise was our 30th overall and 19th with Carnival. I found for the most part a typical Carnival experience (good) The ship is kept spotless and the staff is the friendliest we have ever seen. Practically everyone greeted us with a smile and was very polite...The stage shows were IMO lacking. In 14 days we only had 3 musicals and one was terrible. (cowboy show) Other nights we were entertained by one person performances. The singers were very talented but didn't sing my kind of music. The bands in Ocean Plaza were good and drew a large crowd as did the numerous atrium performers. Lots of activities and Steven Schwartz (CD) was everywhere and very friendly. Kumba (casino supervisor) comped our slot pull and was also very friendly...The only thing I think that needs fixing is the smoking in the casino. Most Carnival ships have a Sports Bar but this ship had that at the casino bar, so I missed the games I would have watched. As an ex smoker I understand the smokers plight but the smoke makes me sick (I spent one day in my cabin after an evening in the casino) I remember Splendor had a smoking and non smoking section and it worked well. Anyway something needs to be done. The cutbacks are obvious to veteran cruisers. Room service once a day, canned music in the theater, (no band) less flashy stage productions etc. BUT, I still find Carnival an excellent value for my vacation dollar. Read Less
