Hey everyone I just want to share my one and only cruise with carnival. At the beginning of March we made a spur of the moment decision to try out a cruise for a small get away. We booked our cruise and after that everything just went down hill. Prior to our cruise we booked our VIP dolphin swim, paid gratuities, ordered and paid for our alcohol, I ordered us an anniversary cake to be delivered on the last night of the cruise. So let’s start from the beginning we boarded on the seventh deck which just so happen to be the same floor our room was located. We got The ocean view stateroom. So after boarding the ship we had to wait until 1:30 to get our room which was fine. We get to the room my luggage is there but my boyfriends is not. We wait until 4:30 still no luggage, 6:30 comes around still no luggage 8:30 comes around still no luggage, this went on until 12:39 am. When finally a random stranger brings us our luggage in the middle of the night and says he found it in his room. So our first day we did not to enjoy the hot tub he was still wearing jeans. They gave him a t shirt and said we would get 20% off of the gift shop for his luggage. Okay so thankfully we got his luggage in the middle of the night. So everything else was okay until our shore excursion day..... well guess what the. VIP dolphin swim we booked with snorkeling and kayaking and water boarding - we find out as we are literally heading to do it they cancelled all water activities except swimming with dolphins. We were supposed to leave at 9:30 we didn’t leave until about 10:15 so that is 45 minutes we were practically cheated out of out of a 4 hour excursion. Then we swim with the dolphins everything was great went and ate lunch and listened to a sales pitch at our lunch for photos then 10 minutes later it was 1:00 and it was time to head back to the boat. So we check with check with guest services and due to us being aware of the water cancellations we get No sort of compensation. Basically what I’m saying is if you want to be screwed over. Cruise with carnival. So back to the cake we ordered for our anniversary. It was pretty cheap. I got the chocolate heart cake that was supposed to say “happy anniversary” and we got a white circle cake with the letters “HA” idk if that’s supposed to mean “happy anniversary” or “haha we screwed y’all over”. The entertainment was great. Food was not what we expected but it was tolerable. I called them to just give feed back. They don’t want to hear it. Today I was taking to a lady about the cake they totally got wrong... they wouldn’t even refund me back on a 11.00 cake they messed up!!!!! Just because we signed a shore excursion ticket we don’t get back anything for the 45 minutes they screwed us out of. Not including all the water activities they cancelled. They are totally not worth cruising with. I would rather just stay at a resort and spend my money knowing I will be treated the right way. Because at a resort it is about QUALITY not QUANITY, and we were treated just the opposite on carnival fantasy cruise. Oh and I forgot to tell you all the bathroom smelled horrific in our cabin. Worst cruise ever. Ship is old and falling apart. Fixtures falling off of the walls in the public bathrooms. Food was the worst I have ever experienced on a cruise. Worst service at dinner. It took forever to get waited on and when you finally did, took forever to get your food. At breakfast one morning, I discovered dried dirt or something (who knows) in the bottom of my water glass. Called a manager over, their answer to the problem was to bring us a cheap bottle of wine to dinner that night. I told them that I didn’t want a bottle of wine, I just wanted to know what I had just consumed in my water glass. Never heard another word from anyone on the ship. My husband complained to Carnival through their survey. We have yet to hear back from them. Never again will we sail with Carnival. Read Less

We went on this ship on Thanksgiving. Good: Playlist Performers, Comedy shows Bad: As you can see only two really good things. Buffet: Food tended to be cold. I even went to the buffet on purpose when they first opened for lunch one day to see if it was just me, but no it was cold again. Person making omelettes made one incorrect and when he made the eggs over easy did not let them cook all the way so there was clear liquid still showing. Pizza was okay but looks like Carnival is cutting back on toppings. Deli I wish they would go back to the presses, rather than the machine they are using as the bread tends to come out hard. Burritos had more lettuce than other fillings, again another cutback. Seaday Brunch, went once and the Eggs Benedict were cold and filet was tough, so not a filet. Did not go back. Dining Room. Worst service we have ever had. Could not even tell you the waiter's name. We had to ask for more water, ice tea, never offered coffee or tea with dessert. In the past once we sat down they would have what ever we ordered for a drink the previous day.there, plus tea or coffee would be offered. They did not know our names. One night we were still eating the main course and they were bringing dessert menus. That is why we select late dining to avoid the rush. Food was on the cold side again. Pork loin, steak, mahi mahi, chicken, and Thanksgiving Turkey was like eating turkey from the deli, salmon served with the skin up. Nuts in the stuffing, even though it did not say that. Appetizers not fully described. One night asked for mashed potatoes and they said did not have any, even though it was offered with another meal. A girl at our table asked for french fries and the waiter said we do not offer them, yet they were offered for another meal. Very poor experience in the dining room. Buffet servers tended to be on the rude side. Breakfast in Dining Room: Ordered omelettes and they came out totally wrong. No one ever came over and asked how anything was. Room Service: Ordered once and they forgot an item, yet they called us and said we can bring it now. We did not want to be bothered again. Stateroom: The coldest we have ever had and the only way to control it was to shut the fan off in the ceiling. We pulled the extra duvet out of the closest and it was stained. Gross! The steward brought us two blankets. The room remained on the cold side and one day, even though we shut the fan down, came back to the fan being opened. Freezing again. What is with the urine spell in the bathrooms? I asked a couple other people and they said the same thing. Every morning we got woken up between 6-615am with them running down the hallway with a laundry basket. I even got out of bed to see them running down the hall. Another morning at 518am, there was an announcement and it scared us to death. Why is the king bed pushed up against the wall and the sheets put in so tight you have to move the bed. I realize this is an older ship, but really?? Tour: We took the Progresso tour and while good, it tended to be rushed. Then the last stop they get people to try and buy tequila. When walking back to the ship there was a group of people dressed like Mayans on the pier and when we said no, as we walked by he called my wife a b***h. I realize they are not Carnival people, but they should be respectful. Maybe newbies would not be aware of these things, but as gold members we try to be loyal to Carnival, but it might be time to try another cruise line. We never remove tips once we pre-paid them as we know it goes to all the workers. We usually tip extra, but not on this cruise as it seemed like they did not care. Maybe this is a training ship, well they need better training. Read Less

DO NOT TAKE THIS CRUISE! No entertainment, horrible food, and rude staff. The only decent food was Guys Burger Joint. The food in the dining room had me spending the rest of my night in the restroom. The food was disgusting! They have one mediocre show per night and the comedy club show which was mediocre at best. They had no consideration for my mother who had to use a walker. Getting off the ship should not be so disorganized. They should mail you all information about your cruise but you have to figure it out for yourself or be surprised with the information. They also add 55 dollars for cabin cleaning and was not told till I got the bill. There was only one way off and on the ship which makes things more difficult and disorganized. Most of the staff was just plain rude and unfriendly! Don’t waste your money on this cruise .... you will be disappointed! Read Less

Boat rocked so hard threw us out of bed. Best description I’ve heard is being herded around like cattle and have a strict set agenda. Food wasn’t what we expected at all. Hardly any seafood. They did have good drinks and all the staff was excellent and all went above and beyond. My guess is the boat is too small by looking at other boats. It doesn’t handle rough seas very well at all. Plenty of entertainment on board. Back of the boat was still tore up and I heard they already had it sold to somebody in another country. It’s getting to be pretty old by the looks of things. Time for upgrades carnival. First and last cruise for us. The bartenders were fantastic. Throughout the trip they made several announcements that nobody could understand. Need a better sound system especially for important information. Little bit of a language barrier too. Bathrooms way too small. Huge water issues. Read Less

Our summer vacation this year was booked on the Carnival Fantasy July 8th -13th. We sailed out of Mobile, Alabama to Cozumel and Costa Maya. We spent most of our days at the water slides with the kids and laying out. The main pool was very tiny and people were packed like sardines in it...to close for comfort for me! Our first night dinner was in the Celebration dining room and the food was horrible. It took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive at our table, bread was served without butter(15 minutes for that to arrive) and over an hour for our main meal. My kids ordered the steak and there was so much fat throughout I couldn’t even cut it with a knife. They ended up just eating their appetizer and dessert for dinner. I actually left the dining room and walked down to the main bar to get our second drink order and to inquire at guest services why it was taking over an hour for our meal. The dining room was not busy and had empty tables everywhere. The couple behind us experienced the same issues. By the 4th night I was getting sick of eating the same thing for dinner...they don’t really change the menu. I decided to pay an extra $20 and ordered the filet and lobster. The filet was average and lobster was rubber...I would not recommend spending the extra money. We visited the spa several times throughout our cruise. My daughter and niece got pedicures and the ladies did such a good job I made an appointment for myself and my husband. The spa was running a special for a back/neck/foot massage with hot stone for 89.99 per person. I decided to take advantage and scheduled myself, daughter and niece. The massage was supposed to last for 50 minutes but only lasted 30...a little disappointed but it was a good massage. We also visited the Casino two nights but the cigarette smoke was so bad and no one was walking around taking drink orders so we didn’t stay long. We didn’t end up winning any money but still had fun. The kids played in the arcade a few nights but it was a little pricey. We had three kids with us and each game was $2.00. We were in room E321 and it looked as if the room had not been updated since 1990. We had black mold around our sink, toilet was dirty, fingerprints all over the doors and walls and dirt/dust on carpets. Our air conditioner in the room was working great up until the last two days. There were five of us in the room so we had to request a cot for my 10 year old. This room was the same size room we had last year but we only had four people in it. They basically charged us for five people and never increased the size of our room. The cot was actually a toddler bed so my sons feet hung off the end of it. Our steward was very friendly but not very efficient. He would clean our room and collect the pool/bath towels but never replace the pool towels. We had to call every morning to ask for new towels and were told we couldn’t get any until 8:30 am. Our other option was to head to the main pool area and sign them out. We got off the boat in Cozumel and Costa Maya for a few hours. It was nothing great just a lot of people trying to sell dollar store items. I would never go back again. We were a little leary about eating off the boat so we had bottled water/bottled Heineken and walked around for a little. Thursday evening Hurricane Barry rolled in and it was all downhill after that. We were told the port in Mobile was closed but for whatever reason the captain decided we were going to head there anyway( safety of the guests on board didn’t come into play on that decision) We were due to get off the boat Saturday morning at 8:00 am and the next guests were due to board at 11:00 am Saturday. All day Friday the boat was really rocking. We were eating lunch and the whole display of deserts and plates fell off the counter. It got worse Friday night. There were broken wine glasses on the floor people slamming into the walls and service carts falling over along with pop cans and glasses scattered throughout the hallways. People were throwing up EVERYWHERE! My niece actually stepped in one pile of throw up trying to make it back to our room. My kids were absolutely terrified and crying thinking that they were going to die. I went to guest service to ask what was going on and why we were driving through the storm if the port was closed. They could have cared less! All three workers behind the counter were dancing and singing while the music was playing at the main bar. I asked them to send someone to clean up the pile of puke that was in our hallway but that never happened, it was still there the next day. Saturday we were supposed to get off the boat but the port was still closed. Long story short we ended up having to go back out to sea and forced to spend another night on the boat. We got off the boat Sunday morning and header home but the curse of our vacation doesn’t end there. My daughter got severely sick Monday evening. She could not eat or drink anything without throwing up. She ended up being admitted to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for what they say is an unknown virus and dehydration. We were interviewed by the center for disease control while there. It has now been 5 days since we have been off the boat and she is still running a high fever, can’t eat and sleeps all day. We are due to follow up with her pediatrician in three days. I plan to email Carnival regarding the cleanliness of the ship and inquire if anyone else has reported a illness. I am also contacting the local health department in my area to see how I go about reporting this. Update: carnival contacted me and offered me $100.00 credit...what a joke! My husband had to miss 2 days of work and I had to miss 1 day. This will be our last cruise!! I have photos of the puke in hallways, rain pouring in from the stairways when we were stuck in the hurricane, mold in the bathroom and fatty steak. I can’t load them from my phone but plan to post them on other review sites for carnival. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it appeared to be affordable and we had 25 people going. It was a disaster from the get go. I can’t blame anything on our cabin stewards. They went above and beyond to help us out. Dining in the celebration dining room was great. Entertaining and a decent selection. They do NOT update menus online so do not rely on the app to be correct. I guess they look at what you spend to determine how to treat you. We booked the Cat In The Hat Breakfast as soon as we got on board. We were told to be at the 8:30. When we arrived we were told we were bumped to 9:45 because of overbooking. So we had two upset kids that we had to pacify for an hour. I will say the breakfast was worth the wait. I wouldn’t recommend Carnival or this ship for families. This would be a great party ship but the activities are not what I expected. Camp for the kids was basically 20 kids in a room with a play kitchen. My grandson hated it and didn’t want to go back. We had a handicapped room because my husband has hip and knee issues and needed it. The cabin was beside the service elevator so it was extremely LOUD all night. We were woken up at 2am nightly by crew singing in the service area. We also had a fire on the ship which caused a bit of drama. People wanted to get to their kids and couldn’t. I am sure carnival will hear more from them. Read Less

This was the worst vacation I’ve ever been on. Which is sad because this was our honeymoon. There was absolutely nothing to do. The food was mediocre at best and it was rarely at it’s “best”. The best food on the ship was Guy’s Burger Joint which closes pretty early in the evening. Our room was nasty upon entering it for the first time. It looked like someone has rubbed sticky food over the remote control for the TV. When I went to draw the curtains back there was only a metal wall instead of a window. I don’t recall that ever being stated in the room details. Also there was only one outlet. By day two of the cruise we were both more than ready to get off the boat. We are both, of course, sitting here hours after we are supposed to disembark, waiting because everyone is so incompetent. Never again. Read Less

The ship was dirty and the food was terribly disappointing. It was like a bad night at a Golden Corral just before they throw the food out. The wait staff and stewards were very friendly, but 2 of the 3 times I went to Guest Services, I dealt with someone who was totally incompetent. I don’t know if this was a training issue or personnel issue, but the attendant was totally unfamiliar with the what the “First to the Fun” included or even what it was. We also purchased the “Chef’s Table” experience. Again, the service was great but most of the food was terrible. The pro was not with the food itself, but with the execution. The wagyu beef in particular was over cooked and drenched in what tasted like McCormack’s sauce. We got back to find that Carnival double-billed all are expenses onboard and sent my bank account into chaos. We will cruise again, but never with Carnival. Read Less

I chose Carnival because we have always had a great time, but this time with was Horrible! Words can not express how bad this was. To start we left 2 days before the cruise was to set sail because we were driving 16+ hours and wanted to make sure that if we had car trouble we would be able to make the ship on time. We had to drive though a snow storm to get there as well. The evening before our cruise was to set sail ( and we were now an hour away from Mobile) we got a call that due to a mechanical issue with the max speed they were not able to get the ship back to port on time from dry dock. Due to them being a day late they were going to cancel the stop in Progreso ( the port we wanted to go to to see the ruins) and then leave a day late. For this inconvenience we could cancel the trip with a full refund or if you wanted to still go you would get a day credit back and $50 on board credit. Well after driving for 16+ hours we decided to still go on the cruise. Big mistake! The first day the waves were so bad that the entire ship was sick including the crew. Come to find out from the crew the ship was late because of weather as well not just because of the max speed. Then we were late getting into Cozumel so our shore excursion time was bumped back to 12 instead of 10:30. We checked in at 11:45 and did not get to our destination until 12:30. The excursion was a 5 hour duration. We were told to be back at the taxi station at 3:45, but the facility closed at 3. So we came back to the ship when the facility closed. There was no reason for us to sit at the taxi station and stare at each other for 45 minutes. The pool and the higher decks were not open until Thursday (port day) and then Friday due to high winds. The night entertainment was supposed to be a sing and dance routine but because of the weather it was 4 people sitting on stage singing. On our other cruise we couldn't get the kids out of camp they were having so much fun. This time we couldn't get them to go to camp because they would get sick on the back of the boat or when they were feeling up to going all they were doing was watching movies. The food was ok. My melting cake was over cooked. The servers were there to take your order, leave your food and then they were never seen again. So you were not able to complain about the food order or get a different thing. We purchased the drink package and was not able to use it the first 2 days from being sick and when we did try to get a drink it took 20+ minutes to either wait to place your order or for the drink to be made. Staff would tell you wrong information or contradictory information to different people in our party. Times we printed wrong in the fun times. I could go on and on. When I got back home and called to voice my concerns all they told me was that they were going to look into the shore excursion and the rest they were going to keep for their records for future cruises. The took my number to call me back about the shore excursion. I called back 6 hours later to find out that the ships excursion director did email them back and said that the excursion went as planed pick up at 12 back to the ship at 5:30. I said that was not the way it happened and that I have a picture of the itinerary and the hours of the facility and they do not match. The gentleman I spoke with home the phone refused to transfer me to his supervisor and that his word was final. I will never recommend or go on another Carnival Cruise. Read Less

Let me start off by saying this, I am in no way sending this email to bash Carnival Fantasy Cruise. I just want to share what my wife and I experience during our cruise this time. We took the Cruise leaving out January 21st -26th 2019. I always take a cruise every year in January . It's something I have done for years now. Gives me something to look forward during the cold winter months. I had been looking forward to this trip since May 2018. I have been for years Carnivals biggest spokes person. I have told all my family and friends to take a Carnival cruise for the experience alone. This time I would have been absolutely embarrassed if any of my family and friends would have taken this cruise with us. We traveled from Kentucky to Mobile Alabama only to be told that our cruise would be delayed until Tuesday morning or we could have cancelled and went back home. Now looking back I wish I would have opted for a full refund and traveled back home. But we chose to go on the now 4 day cruise. This experience did not live up to all my past experiences I have had with Carnival . This ship did not seem like it was properly stocked , equipped and was very short staffed to handle the passengers on board. There was not enough help on board in any department for it to run efficiently. Which made for very poor service. This ship was not very well maintained from water fountains not working , to the windows being very dirty. We tried to call Guest relations several times just to get clean towels. We would have to wait all day and try catch a house keeper in the hallway in the evenings between 6-9 pm to get fresh towels. In the past every morning housekeeping would come early to clean and stock the room for the day. Maybe if I could have talked to someone I could have had them change the bedding that smelled like sour milk. Or the fact that we had no robes in our closet and mold around in our showers. There was a strong ammonia smell in the hallway at nights that was so strong it would give you a headache. Never in the past did we have a sign saying housekeeping was only available for three hours in the evening. Could be because they was being utilized else where during the day because of being so short staffed ? Which leads me to one of my favorite parts of a Cruise. The food the food was only served at certain times of the day. This is not at all what it has been it in past. Breakfast was served from 6 am to 9 am, from 9 am to 12 nothing, 12-3 lunch, from 3-6 nothing, and 6 pm was dinner. I went and asked for a Ruben sandwich, usually again the past its prepared right there in front of you. Not this time, it was handed to me from a cooler. not freshly made. All the bread on ship was very stale. No matter which meal it was served at it was stale. At the end of each trip I am always dreading it because I have always had such a great time. This time our bags were packed by the door and patiently waiting for our floor to be called. We could not get home soon enough!!! Even tho a refund was offered for missing the first day of our cruise. It would have been nice to get what was actually owed to us. We was owed $217 for the day. We was only paid out $117 . My mistake that I did not have that corrected as soon as I counted it. But the music was so loud I could not hear what they lady was saying to us. I wont say that I wont ever take a cruise with you guys again but after this experience , I don't know if you guys would be my first choice. Read Less

Chose this cruise for our annual family trip due to it being close enough to drive to from Nashville. We were treated horribly from the moment we pulled up until we pulled off. We pulled up and tried to get someone to grab our luggage that needed to be checked in and we kept getting passed over while cars further back were being taken care of. A gentleman finally came to our car and apologized. He was upset and let us know that this was common due to other employees not wanting to wait on Black customers because we don’t tip. We brushed it off and went inside to check in. We had a person who required handicap assistance so we went inside and requested help. We had to wait over an hour because people were picking up a customer and not returning to get the next handicapped patron. Eventually supervisors were called in to assist to make sure we didn’t all miss the ship. We finally made it to our room and the stench from the bathroom almost made us vomit. We went into the muster meeting and were initially denied a seat for our person in a cane until we really pushed the issue. The entire cruise was filled with rude service, cold food and closed shops. We went to Guest Service and was told that we should have came to complain each time we had an issue instead of waiting until the third day. After talking to several people on the ship of different ages and races we were sad to realize that the prejudice against African Americans by African Americans was taking place through out the ship. During meal times only one line on the lido deck was open nightly and the food was always cold. Guys burger joint and the other restaurant were not open for dinner. The $10 store was barely opened. The young lady who worked there was extremely rude. If it had not been for Mr Sanchos this would have been a complete bust Read Less

We just returned from a 4-day cruise on the Carnival Fantasy from Mobile, AL (8/16-8/20). My 8 y/o daughter has several food allergies, including dairy, peanuts, and seafood. So Dragana assisted us in pre-ordering her meals. However, on Saturday 8/18/18 in the Celebration Dining Room, my daughter was served a dessert item containing heavy cream. After a few bites, she told me she thought she was having an allergic reaction, then vomited at the table. We were unaware at that moment that she had consumed any dairy. I rushed her to our cabin to give her Benadryl, while my husband and 2 other children stayed to speak to supervisor. When we got to the cabin, she vomited again. At that time, I noticed swelling to her bottom lip. Her throat was still patent. I immediately called the medical center - no answer. I called Guest Services - no answer. I finally called 911 and told them my daughter was having an allergic reaction. I was instructed to bring her down to the medical center (instead of someone coming up to check her). My family arrived at our cabin at that time and my husband carried her to the medical center (@2115). Her vital signs were stable and her lip swelling improved but was still present. Alan gave us Benadryl to administer every 6 hours. After assessing my daughter again and seeing that she was stable, my husband and I proceeded to Guest Services where we spoke with Tamara (@2150). She said she would open an incident report, but she was "not allowed" to give us a copy. The only documentation I received was a letter the following morning with a case number. There is no way I can verify the accuracy of the report without reading it. After Guest Services, my husband and I returned to the Celebration Dining Room and spoke to Andrei, the matre d (@2200). I wanted to know how my daughter was served food containing dairy when we specifically informed the dining crew of her allergies. Andrei was apologetic and said that there was a meeting about this incident happening. I was so angry and frustrated that I started crying and could no longer speak. I don't even remember what was said. But Andrei gave my husband his contact information and we left. On Sunday 8/19/18, Silvestre called our cabin @1130. He was very apologetic and empathetic. He said that at the meeting, it was discovered that it was "human error" that caused this incident. He wanted to set up dinner for us that night at the Celebration Dining Room. But my daughter was already scared to go back there. If we had a choice, we would not eat at any restaurant on the ship. But we have to eat. So he set up dinner at the Jubilee Dining Room. We were seated (@2020) and Dragana came over to our table and oversaw my daughter's meal. Genaro and Edi were our servers. Genaro was friendly and attentive. My daughter requested bacon bits to put on top of her mashed potatoes. Edi came over with the bacon bits and placed some on my sons' mac n cheese. As he was placing it, he slid the bottom of the spoon across the mac n cheese. Edi proceeded to put bacon on my daughter's potatoes, but I asked for new bacon since the spoon had touched the cheese. Apparently, there was some confusion between the waiters as to why I didn't want that specific bowl of bacon to be given to my daughter. My husband explained it in our language and it was addressed appropriately. We ate at the Jubilee Dining room for breakfast on 8/20/18 and Gilda oversaw my daughter's meal. We did not have any issues that morning. The first night 8/16/18, we ate at the Lido buffet and had asked which products contained dairy, nuts, or seafood. One of the servers told me that the only food that did not contain dairy was the bread. So I got some bread for my daughter. Luckily, she did not eat it because it in fact contained dairy. This is the first night I spoke with Dragana, who was extremely helpful and kind. She was great in helping us set up my daughter's meals and was very empathetic after the incident. We are still angry that my daughter was served dairy after specifically requesting her meals in advance. Fortunately, she speaks up if she feels any symptoms. But unfortunately, she has learned to trust no one. I don't feel that your dining staff has enough education pertaining to food allergies. It is difficult to understand if you or someone close to you does not have to deal with it or if you have never witnessed an allergic reaction. It can turn life-threatening in the blink of an eye. Sadly, my daughter is aware that she could have died from her allergic reaction and is so scared that she does not want to return to any cruise ship ever again. Despite having fun otherwise, she is terrified of eating any food on the ship. And she is only 8 years old. The staff hurt my daughter, physically and emotionally, as well as my entire family. My husband and my adult sons were in tears. Read Less

If this was our first cruise I would have never gone on another! Still may not! This ship was awful. Sewer was constantly backing up, and all public restrooms at least 1 or 2 toilets that were out of order. The paint was falling off the walls, room smelled like smoke, rust on rails, elevators overcrowded. ONLY ONE TINY POOL. It was so crowded that we didn't even to use it. Same as the hot tubs. Did not enforce children to stay out of the serenity deck as well. So those hot tubs were crowded as well. "Fun Squad" was to busy having there own private staff parties to keep quest entertained. Never been bored on a cruise ship but by the last night of only a 4-day cruise, we were so boars that we just went to sleep early. None of the food except for burger place had any flavor and most of the bread and desserts were stale. Also, this boat rocked so much that I had to put a pillow beside me in bed because I was afraid that I would roll off. The waves were not that hight, and I even asked several of the staff if this was normal and they all said it was they just get used to it. There was a couple of good staff members such as our housekeeper and a few more. Debarkation was DISORGANIZED. The cruise director (who was nothing like the others we have had in the past.) was announced for us to go to one place, and when we got there they were told up to go somewhere else. Please keep in mind that most of the elevators were being used by staff for bags so we had to continue to walk up and down stairs. When I asked where we were supposed to go the employee told me he didn't know that I should have gone to the meeting. I am sorry but I'm on vacation I'm not going to a meeting that's what I pay them for. I will definitely rethink Carnival from now on. I was not the only one there were sooo many other people talking about how awful this ship was. Read Less

Starting with my state room U130 it smelled like smoke. The bathroom had mold around the shower top and had a funny smell the whole trip. Beds are worn out the A/C didn't work we had to get a fan this made sleeping very hot and uncomfortable. The T.V stoped working the second day. Food on the lido deck was more like a golden corral buffet. Breakfast was the same everyday. Guys Burger was good. Dinning room was great. Not much room between tables. But the food was better than the lido. Activities was more towards older people. I signed my daughter 13 up for circle C she only went once cause they were closed most of the time. Shows not good at all walked out twice the comedy show was good. I have been on Carnival ships before and this one was a huge disappointment. The ship needs alot of upgrades. Read Less

Service: the crew does their best with what they’ve got. No problems with the polite crew. Everything Else: the ship’s interiors are so dated, it’s absurd. Imagine the cheesiest 80’s and 90’s casino decor. It feels and looks dingy and way past it’s prime. Everything is dirty. The pool and hot tubs have filthy rings around the water line and the stairs leading into the hot tubs are coated with years old dirt from filthy feet. Occasionally the stench of diesel fuel or sewage would appear. The restaurant food was airplane quality, mass produced for a clientele devoid of any kind of discerning palette. The cafeteria food was literally like trough slop. And watching the people clamoring to fill their giant plates and shovel the “free” food into their mouths was disgusting. Cozumel is a dirt pile. Tijuana on an island. The locals will relentlessly harass you to buy their garbage wares: all of it is crap. The “beach” is a rocky shore that I would liken to a quarry, NOT a beach. The “sand” is not sand, it is gravel. The shoreline is not a shoreline, it’s a rocky cliff that was poured over with cement. Our “beach club” offered ONE access point into the water: a rickety dock that was covered in slippery slimy algae. The Mexican water was the cleanest park of the entire journey....including everything. My eleven year old son found a baggie of illicit drugs right on the beach by our umbrella and broken lounge chairs. If you live under a trailer park, this cruise will probably blow your mind and feel like the essence of luxury. But if you have ever eaten in a halfway decent restaurant or stayed in a halfway decent hotel, you WILL be dismayed and disappointed. I will never cruise Carnival ever again. Read Less

It all started at check in when the carnival app went down. It showed we didn't have a reservation, which we did but the staff was super rude. We finally get on the boat and everything is great until we get to our room. I don't think a deep clean has been done in our room for months. I can't even tell you how much dust and mold was in our room. It sparked up my ashtma and allergies, and I'm still sick from this. Even the crew said it was paid and there was nothing they could do, besides get a fan.(which helped some) The ship was very old and probably needs to retire. Considering I have been cruising with carnival for years, I did have a high expectation that it would be a great cruise like my previous ones. And to top it all off the last day our toilet broke at 8am and did not get fixed until after 3pm. Even though we asked our stateroom Stewart three times, and called guest services three times it eventually got fixed. I even found an engineer in the hall who said "that's not my job".The engineer then leaves our door wide open to the public for quite some time so we get in touch with security who is the biggest joke of them all. We had a meeting and they still refused to say it was there mistake even though we seen the key report. It was just our room that had these problems but it surely wasn't taken care of. Denzel, Rhea and Anita in the dining area definitely took care of us though. Duraio at the front desk was phenomenal. Read Less

I Got talked into it, cruises never appealed to me but my spouse has wanted to go for years so I gave in. There were way too many rude brat kids, not being controlled by their parents.. Couldn't visit the casino due to cigarette smoke. Pool and hot tubs always filled with kids. Lido deck in general was always packed with people and blasting music, had to avoid it whenever possible. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND PAY FOR Wi-Fi SERVICE. I paid for four days worth of their 'Premium Wi-Fi. It was a lousy Wi-Fi connection and within an hour or two of leaving the port of Mobile, there was no connection at all for the rest of the trip. Paid for the 'bottomless bubbles', what a joke, you have to go to a bar and wait till they're finished serving customers ordering alcohol. Speaking of alcohol, what a scam that is, you can't bring it on the ship and they charge $8 to $11 for a mixed drink and $24 for a 4 pack of beer. Needless to say, it will be awhile before we consider going on another cruise, it would definitely not be a 'family friendly' cruise. Read Less

This was a girl friend getaway. We wanted to go to Cozumel and we had experienced cruisers with 4-5 cruises under their belt, I had cruised once before and we had a newbie. We were all totally disappointed. This ship is old, dated, small, creaky and ready for the scrap metal yard or for a total overhaul. The water was rough, we experienced sea sickness. Our hallway always smelled of sewage as well as several other places on the ship. Our room creaked so much with the rocking of the ship we couldn't sleep. It sounded like a rat was scratching inside the wall above our heads. A sound like a woodpecker would happen each time the ship tilted a certain direction. I finally determined after three nights of no, to very little sleep, it was the TV beating against the metal stand. I stuffed a folded up daily Fun paper between the TV and the stand. Georgia was having a winter break, unbeknown to us. The ship was over run with children. We assumed that buy going in February, most children would be in school. We couldn't get in the swimming pool. The kids were in the hot tubs, splashing and acting like they were tiny pools. Kids are not suppose to be in hot tubs due to health reasons but no one was enforcing that. There were not enough lounge chairs for everyone. People would though a towel on a chair early in the morning. Claiming it all day long even though they only used it an hour or two during the entire day. They closed the upper deck due to waves and high wind so all those empty chairs sat up there unused and unreachable. The same thing was true for the adult only area. Every chair had a yellow towel across it being claimed by someone, sleeping in their cabin or eating at the buffet but not using the chair! The walls in our cabin were dirty. The knob on the closet door was broken. The ceiling tile had been half heartedly replaced. The staff were great as always, as well as the shows and the food. I reported our room problem and the seasickness issue to customer service and was told that was normal this time of year. The worst part was the drinks. Even though they cost about $10-11 each, there is very little alcohol in them. I would expect that at an all inclusive joint but not when your have to buy them at that price. The biggest shock was the all inclusive beach excursion offered on the day we ported at Progreso. The beach wasn't as big as my back yard, lounge chairs were already taken and again the drinks were diluted, I had 6 mixed drinks and a beer didn't even get a buzz. I couldn't believe Carnival offered this as an excursion, shame on them. In the future I will look for other cruise lines, check the age on the ship and do my own excursions. This trip was certainly a learning experience. I was embarrassed for our first time cruiser to experience such a mess. Read Less

This was my first cruise. We got on the ship late due to fog. They changed our destination from Cozumel to Progresso at the last minute. Once we got on the ships, the food was awful, the shops were closed. I was told i could bring a 12 pack of pepsi in my luggage. Lady did not say we had to carry it on. So the security confiscated it until i threw a fit.The safe in the room would not work. When they would clean the room they would give us the previous day itinerary. We went to guest service alot and no help what so ever. We upgraded from an inside room to an ocean view and was suppose to have twin beds it had a full size bed. After we finally got off the ship and headed back home, I called customer care number and all she would say is I am sorry. I told the lady that i would never cruise carnival again and that we deserved something for the inconvenience that we were put through. She said she would give me a 50 dollar on board credit. Which would not do any good because the shops would be closed. For a first time cruiser I was most definitely not impressed or satisfied with carnival. T his was our first cruise and I had many friends and family who have been on cruises. Their stories of their cruises is what I expected. I was sadly disappointed. The ship was old, small, dirty and nothing to do unless you like to drink and party. The shows or activities were dumb and lame. The food was just ok. Nothing spectacular like I had heard from friends about other cruise lines. The excursion to Cozumel was nothing but a tourist trap with shop employees begging you to buy their merchandise. The whole cruise the music was unbearbly loud. One whole floor, which you had to walk through to get to other places, was apparently dedicated to casino and smoking. The public bathrooms were filthy. I'm not sure exactly where on the ship I picked up a staff infection but on the second day I did. I can assure you I will never go on the Fantasy again and probably will never sail with Carnival again. It may be the cheapest but as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for". Read Less

My sister and I took our 82 year old mom on Carnival Fantasy on October 12, 2017. This was really a trip as in the Beach Boys song, The John B. I was really the worst trip I have ever been on. The staff was wonderful, but nice and friendly can only go so far. I have traveled extensively, in several countries, so this was not just cultural. The food was terrible. The Maui Maui dish we order was so bad the fish couldn't be cut with a knife, and the flavor was nonexistent. The salad bar was the only food fit to eat and that wasn't even great. As I referred before, the staff did their best, they just couldn't compensate for the lack of talent in the kitchen. The cabin was clean and stayed well stocked. They ship is just very run down. It needs to be upgraded. There was rust and mildew around the windows. The bathroom was as clean as the staff could get it for the condition it was in. The carpets look old and worn. The bed was comfortable and pillows plentiful. Still the staff was doing the best they could for the conditions they work in. The entertainment was very scarce. They game show was one big commercial for Hasbro. Sings did a good job, but the shows left a lot to be desired. We felt rushed and pressure to buy products on every level during this cruise. Everything was either done to entice the passengers to buy more items or just to get the staff to stop pressuring a sale. We docked in Cozumel, to be confronted by a drove of characters dressed in what was assumed to be tribal garb of Mexico and photographers who took pictures again to sell aboard the ship. This made us feel as if we died and went to bad commercial hell. I will NEVER sail on Carnival again. Read Less

I was looking for a vacation alternative for my two small boys. (2 and 5 years old). We thought a cruise might be fun and it was recommended by others. They love the water. The entire trip the pool was full of the same drunks. Many of the common areas were loud and smelled like cigarette smoke. Food was good, crew was very polite. Rooms were small, bathrooms smaller, and dirty, (found a bra in the cabinet) TV screen nasty and TV remote was missing. I asked for a remote and did receive one, it didn't work, asked for another , it also didn't work. I was told the TV was the problem. I later found a third remote under the bed, worked fine. Cozumel was a tourist trap. Couldn't move an inch without being harassed buy someone wanting to sell something. The island was dirty and cab ride memorable to say the least. On the trip back to Mobile we mush have run into a rough sea. Ship was moving so much many people were sick and couldn't contain their meals. Embarking and disembarking slow and frustrating. Me, my wife and the boys have been sick with a low grade fever ever since we were herded of that miserable ship. Read Less
