I am a seasoned world traveler, but have been resisting the notion of a cruise for decades, based on stereotypes of the past (such as their being for the "newly wed and nearly dead") and others' firsthand stories over the years (both good and bad). But I finally caved in, and tried my best to go with an open mind. So very glad I did and I'm already thinking of a second one next year, but on a ...
We were a family group of 27 people, 14 adults and 13 kids. Every night we were well taken care of. In particular the little children sat through long dinners because their wait staff was so good, particularly Gunny who taught them a magic trick at the end of every dinner. When the 3 year old fell asleep during the meal, they brought another chair so he could stretch out and covered him with ...
Celebrity is our cruise line of choice and we were excited to see the Baltic countries. Two great overnights in Copenhagen and St Petersburg. We also had pretty decent weather. We really enjoyed our private tour in St Petersburg with Tailored Tours. Recommended in Rick Steves guide book. Guide Kate was fantastic. We custom created what we wanted to see. Loved Stockholm, and Copenhagen. Great time ...
The itinerary was wonderful (it was our second Baltic cruise). Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience with TJ Travel for our St. Petersburg tour and definitely would not recommend them. Our guide was rude, we were constantly being rushed and we were even told by our guide to push people out of the way at various stops ... a much different experience from our previous tour with another ...
anyone who is interested in seeing Berlin should look into "Jeremy Minsberg" for a wonderful experience. Jeremy is thoroughly familiar with all of Berlin. He is also knowledgeable about other European cities as well.
As far as the ship was concerned there were a few things I would like to comment on. The cabin was nice the cabin service was very good. The fact that not enough hangers ...
Typical Celebrity experience. One minor note is on beverage package. On Classic, they limit Martini Size to 4oz.-seriously?
All in, great experience from Cabin Steward to Specialty, to Main dining room. Nice amenities on Silhouette. Friendly staff.
Entertainment is not up to speed with NCL for example. But all other services especially food are really solid.
Embarkation and scheduling ...
My wife and I selected this cruise to celebrate our 50th Anniversary with our daughters and their family and my wife's brother and his spouse. This was the fourth time we have sailed on the Silhouette, so we knew our experience on board would be outstanding. However, what really made this particular cruise for us were the above and beyond private tours we booked with independent tour groups. ...
My husband and I loved the itinerary, the ship, the crew, and the people we met on the cruise. It was wonderful being able to overnight in St. Petersburg and Copenhagen. The only negative was going through Passport Control in St. Petersburg but Celebrity had no control over that. It took us 1.5 hours the first day (15 minutes the second day.) We ate all of our meals in the main dining room ...
We chose this Baltic cruise because of the interesting destinations — and weren't disappointed. Helsinki, St Petersburg, Tallinn, Germany, Copenhagen, Oslo and disembarking in Amsterdam.
The ship was great, staff incredibly helpful and friendly, and a good mix of nationalities — lots of Canadians, Aussies and Mexicans as well as the usual large US contingent.
The food was a bit of a let ...
we chose this cruise because it went to the destinations we wanted to visit. the ship was embarkation and disembarking was very easy and no stress at all, it went very smoothly..
the cabin was clean with a safe and fridge. we dined in the evenings in the main restaurant. I must say we have sailed on cruises several times, but the food quality and variety was the best we have experienced. for ...
