First the good parts:
The My Time dining was great. If they couldn't seat us right away we were given a pager and could go wait in the bar. Just like in a shore based restaurant. This was so pleasant after the foolishness we've experience with Royal Caribbean. The food and service were great.
The ship was clean and well maintained.
The tables in the Ocean View Cafe were always cleaned ...
arrived in Amsterdam 2 days ahead of the cruise and survived the bikes wizzing by.... great city and the Anne Frank museum is a must..the class of ship is outstanding...plenty of room for all...the ports were great the only hiccup was Edinburgh.. the tender from 2 miles (not joking ) out was painful...long lines for the tenders...it was an older cruise so it seemed that there was always plenty of ...
Our cruise, started August 11, 2017, featuring the Military Tattoo excursion in Edinburgh, Scotland. The show was great... second to none! Celebrity's inability to handle the tender service for 1,300 passengers returning from the event at ~11 PM was a complete DISASTER!
It rained heavily that evening. Notwithstanding the rain, there still would have been a serious problem getting the ...
We have cruised on Celebrity 5 previous times and had an excellent experience.
This Cruise, British Isles has been disastrous. The crew has consistently provided no information, or worse--misinformation. The excursion to Edinburg Tattoo was repeatedly stated as beginning at 6:30...ooops, they meant 9:00... the return to the ship in the driving rain storm had us standing outside for 2 hours ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary, as we were excited to be able to attend The Open along with getting an overview of the British Isles. We arrived in Amsterdam a day before setting sail which proved to be a good suggestion by our TA. It allowed us to explore the city a bit and catch up on our sleep before our departure to England. The Silhouette is a beautiful ship - elegant but not "Las ...
This was our second Celebrity cruise - we enjoyed the Summit so much we thought we would give this ship a try since the British Isles were on our bucket list - and we had family traveling this itinerary as well! Silhouette is easy to navigate and finding our way around didn't take long. She is a beautiful ship and well maintained. We found no fault with any of the public areas or our cabin ...
Let me start by saying two things...First, we have always been loyal Celebrity cruisers and Elite + members, having been on them so many times I lose count. Second, the only things that don't lower this rating even lower are the ports were fun, and the crew's enthusiasm and friendliness were perfection !
Having recently been on a great Celebrity South American cruise last year, we were looking ...
We chose this cruise because of the destinations and also, we had cruised with Celebrity 7 years ago and were very impressed at that time. Celebrity pampered their guests at that time. The Food in the main dining hall used to be 4 star and the service there was wonderful. On the Celebrity cruise from which we just returned, the food in the main dining hall was at best 2 star, except the last ...
Celebrity Cruise Lines has a new priority, a new focus, a new ship comin' to town in late 2018. It's the Celebrity "Edge", first sea lady representing a new class of ships. Lot's of hype, lot's of attention, lot's of money$$$$$. As a result, in my opinion, the rest of the fleet is suffering from lack of attention, reductions in crew/staff and absurd modifications to packages. Gotta save money here ...
We have done 31 cruises we have used a number of different lines but we now only use Celebrity because the cater to longer cruises and we like 2 to 4 week cruises and love transatlantic and transpacific. Celeberty fits our knitch our age people and most long cruises have very few children.we have sailed on the Silhouette several times and love it but we really like their smaller ships. We took the ...
