We booked our cruise direct with Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line for the best deal, don't listen to the folks that got sucked in by the free trips offered by the many time share sales groups, most of them felt lied to and ripped offed. The boat is great, the staff is eager to please and does a great overall job, the food at the Ocean view buffet and the Plunge Grill will satisfy most, it's not high end gourmet, but does the job. The cabins with Ocean view windows no balconies are available, are ok for couples or small families, clean and well maintained, smaller cabins are a little smaller and should be avoided. we also played the video poker machines and won money here also. We did play at the casino and found the black jack tables to be very profitable, with great dealers and pit bosses, avoid the $5 tables and settle for the $10 -$25 tables The best option is the cruise and stay deal we did 2 nights at the fabulous Grand Lucayan 4-5 star resort, and it was better than almost every other resort we have stayed at in the Bahamas. The hotel is directly of a beautiful white sand beach with crystal clear blue and green ocean. The pool area is fantastic and has world class services. The only advice is be prepared for a delay in getting off the boat through customs it took us 90 minutes but it should be expected. The use of a passport speeds up departure without a passport add a least another 90 minutes to the departure time. Read Less

What I'd like to warn people about is what most people did not now about when they bought these gift cards/and /or Groupons. You are required to pick up your boarding passes in Fort Lauderdale at a "welcome center" situated at a Ramada Resort. Not a problem for people who live south, but we drove from NORTH Florida. Fort Lauderdale is an hour away from the port! Not one person, while booking the cruise mentioned this before hand. The gift card itself did not state this either. When I called to complain, I was basically told "tough luck". BUT, they said in lieu of that hassle, we COULD go directly to Port of Palm Beach to pick up the boarding passes IF we attended a 90 minute presentation with breakfast, at a resort across from the Cruise ship terminal. THEN we could pick up boarding passes there. This is where the the story gets good. There is nothing 90 minutes about this fiasco. First of all breakfast was an hour long in the humidity by the resort's pool. We ate in 10 minutes, then sat and watched our Time share salesperson eat breakfast for an hour!!! An hour! THEN the tour began. After touring the facility, they brought us into a room with 50 or so other "suckers" and pitched the sale. We endured blaring latin dance music (which I love in any other setting). When I asked if we could go elsewhere so we could hear each other she said no. So my 70 year old mother sat at the table with their fingers in their ears. Just when I thought it was over we were told there was another part of the tour (going on 2 1/2 hours now). We were taken out to the beach boardwalk and told we were going to now tour the beach. It was spitting rain, thundering, and lightening. I said it wouldn't be smart to be on the beach with the lightening flashing, etc. We were told someone from our group HAD to walk the beach because it was part of the tour. And we could not get boarding passes without completing the tour! I stood my ground and said she was welcome to risk her life but we would not be walking over the boardwalk to the beach...So, finally after 3 1/2 hours of a very exhausting sales pitch of a $20K time- share, they finally gave us boarding passes! 3 1/2 hours! The cruise itself however was fun. Our room steward, Agus was always available, helpful and friendly. He was very attentive and brought us ice a couple times. Although some people had very hot rooms, and the temperature of the ship itself felt warm and a little humid, our room, U8 was cool. We slept well. The rooms are clean, and basic. We did not expect much for the price we paid. The food was good. Fresh fruit for breakfast, waffles, french toast, the usual buffet. The actual dining room for the buffet was cramped though. It was a full cruise, so people have to jockey around each other for the drink machine, etc. The pool area was festive, a guy playing steel drums. Exactly what you envision for a budget cruise. The ship itself is clean. Staff (excluding our super sweet cabin steward Agus) were "somewhat" friendly. Some were more cheerful than others of course. That's life.... The show was cute, not Vegas quality of course, but entertaining for a budget cruise. We went to Grand Lucaya resort for a lazy day by the pool over looking the beach under palm trees. Beautiful! Get there early to nab a lounge chair in the shade as close to the beach as possible for the ocean breeze. oh and BTW, be prepared to spend at least an 1 hour and 1/2 in a very warm line to disembark. If you have a passport you can go throught the shorter version of the hot line. Hope this was helpful! Read Less

Booked this through the Free Voucher I had and there was nothing free about it. First you pay for the port fees and everything which came out to about $65 a person. I paid to upgrade my cabin to a top deck room with ocean view. I called to make sure I was getting a top deck room with ocean view the week before the cruise and the day of the cruise and I was assured I was getting a top deck cabin with ocean view. I paid the fee and went with it. Alas, I arrived and was not given what I paid for. I tried to have them accommodate me into another room, but they could not do so. The AC was not working in the room and we called multiple times about this, but it was never fixed. Multiple other passengers also did not have AC working. You basically wake up covered in sweat and feeling gross. The food was average, nothing special. The shows are blah; paid for the Adult Comedy Show and it was just a bunch of F bombs with nothing special. Drinks are incredibly watered down especially when you give them one of the drink tickets. I did make friends with one of the bar tenders in the Martini Lounge who made normal drinks and was very friendly. Actually almost all of the wait staff was very friendly. My beef is with the organization of the whole thing and inefficiency. They tell you you HAVE to go to Fort Lauderdale an hour away to pick up your boarding passes and we did that, but when we got to West Palm, they did not need those and was a freaking waste of time. We had to go to Fort Lauderdale the night before and had to get a hotel just to do that. If I would have known I could just go to West Palm, we would have driven straight there from Tampa in the morning. They have the most inefficient system of getting off the cruise. We waited 3 hours in line in a muggy/hot hallway crowded with people to get off the ship. It was an absolute nightmare disembarking. Literally everyone we talked to leaving the ship said they would never go on this again. I have been on a few cruises and this was absolutely the worst. If you're looking to have a good time in the Bahamas find another way there. Seriously.... it is not worth it. Read Less

This was a nightmare cruise. We booked 2 rooms that were to sleep 4 people. We arrived on the ship and in our rooms and come to find out there is only 1 bed that slept 2 people. Upon numerous phone calls to the front desk/customer service on the ship and numerous trips to the front desk/customer service, the person that we made the reservations with informed us they gave us the wrong rooms and he transferred us to customer service. They were rude and could not help and told us on the back we had to upgrade our rooms for additional funds. After all this we were moved to a room that slept 3 people that had no A/C and multiple people didn't have A/C. We were told our luggage would be put in our rooms and we actually had to go track it down. Our brand new luggage was damaged. The new room we were given was 2 floors away from our family. On top of this we filed complaints about the luggage which no one ever took pictures of or wrote down. We spent the majority of the time in line because the lines were so long with people filing complaints about things it was ridiculous. Then, after they stated they fixed our A/C hours later it was still ungodly hot in our room and you could not sleep because it was so uncomfortable and loud. This on top of the rudeness and being charged for things we were not told about. We also were told the ship had 5 pools/jacuzzis which it only had 2 pools and kiddie pool and most of the ship was being painted, dangerous due to them working on it with ladders etc. This was to be a new ship yeah right with all this going on. We truly feeled lied and mislead. We wnet and had our toes and nails done and were suppose to get a discount and our bill was almost $200.00 we said something again nothing was done. Needless to say we found another way back from the Bahamas and did not get back on this ship. Problem is we called, sent several complaints and are still waiting for a response and have not received credit for any part of this trip on the ship. Never again we will get on Grand Celebration out of Port of Palm Beach. Read Less

It wasn't terrible but there is definitely room for improvement. I am a Disney cruiser so I wasn't expecting Disney but I would much rather have just skipped it. The boat rooms were normal size to me. I got the ocean view. Of course Disney rooms are bigger but I have also taken a Norwegian and the room on Celebration were the same size as Norwegian. Shows were just ok. I went to sleep on the comedy show. The pool is terrible! Maybe there was another on the boat that I didn't see. The food was just good enough to say you ate. I didn't try the admiral club dinning perhaps I should have. The fees were as expected 12 per day per person for service. This is normal for all cruises most let you decide what to pay and suggest tips. Then we were charged $9 for fuel. Check in process was fine. I almost got tricked into a timeshare tour, but I told them I already owned two which I did and they didn't bother me. PLEASE BEWARE that you are supposed to pick up your tickets from Ft. Lauderdale. I flew into West Palm beach this was almost an issue for me but I was able to get around it but other may not so pay attention to that. The shop on board was great for last minute hats and swimsuit cover ups! I only found rum cake on board the ship not at the island. Read Less

It was okay, but I wish I would've booked a real cruise. The food was good but that is about it. The crew had attitude and my room wasn't even ready when I checked in. The pools and spa are TINY. The ship doesn't have much to do and is small. We got to the island like 5-6 hours before checking in the resort. Shore excursions are expensive but worth it. Read Less

This was the absolute worst vacation my family and I have ever had! First of all, we get to the hotel in Ft. Lauderdale...biggest dump I've ever stayed in, it was horrible, nasty, smelly and the food was yuck!!! Then we find out we have to go on a tour which took 5 hours, NO LIE! The cruise wasn't to bad, I've been on a lot nicer tho. My family and I cruise every year so we know there are a lot nicer out there. The Bamahas wasn't to bad but on the whole trip, we had all kinds of hidden fees we had to pay after paying for the package itself which I thought was ridiculous! The whole trip was a nightmare and I will never do this again. It costs us so much money we probably could have went to Hawaii and spent the same amount and had a much nicer vacation. The air on the boat didn't work which made for miserable nights, no one on the trip had anything positive to say and take plenty of money because the food in the Bahamas is expensive. Buyer beware, think twice before you pay for this package because I wish I hadn't!!!! Read Less

We were tricked into going to a mandatory time share meeting before we were allowed to get our tickets to the ship. This took up the better part of a day. We were not aware that this was required. Every upgrade we were offered, such as the hotels, meal plans, etc) was a waste of money. The kids had very little to do & pool did not stay open very late. This was a party ship, no doubt, but there should have been more accommodations other than bar-like atmospheres, where the drinks are watered down (very little alcohol) & over priced. We would have been better off flying straight into the Bahamas. This ship was nothing more than a ferry. Read Less

My husband and I were pleasantly surprized after reading some bad reviews that this Cruise was PERFECT for us. It was clean, we took a interior room (no window) which was fine as we only slept there. It was my first cruise and I wanted something inexpensive and a couple of nights so as to see if I could handle the motion of the ocean, You couldn't beat the price from Groupon! Also the food was great (we went to the Stellar prime dining for both nights as this was sit down/serve instead of endless buffet(which you might want ), of course the buffet doesn't have beef wellington ect. I would suggest breakfest buffet and dinner sit down,,, so much food!!! Embarking and disembark were fine, either leave early on disembarkment or late as you can 1030am + . One thing I must recommend , when getting into Freep[ort, if you do not feel like doing the excursions (arranged by the ship$$$) we took our time and got off by ourselfs and for $5 each way per person , took a group taxi to the market where we went snorking (unexso, diving Lucaya tours and water sports) for $40 each includes gear), this is about what you would pay with the ships reservation, but we DID NOT want to be out by 9am we ate a nice breakfast and took our time on board and left after lunch, snorkled at 230 and were back by 5. ship leaves at 6 dinner was the late seating for us. Drinks were $5/650, we were given a bottle of champagne as it was my husbands birthday and we also brought some interesting shampoo and conditioner . All in all we had a great time staff is on it! No this is not the most luxurious cruise but we only paid $229. for two!!! Read Less
