DCL has Long Covid... The 'Disney Difference' is fast disappearing

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Disney Fantasy

It’s taken some time to get my head around writing this review of the Disney Fantasy, mainly as Disney is my favourite Cruise line, and I couldn’t quite pinpoint why we didn’t enjoy this cruise. Our first comment to each other on the first full day on this cruise was a spontaneous “I'm not into this’. We felt a little depressed (and it was my Birthday ... lol ) Having started crushing with ...

Honestly do not get the hype over mediocre food, service and pools...

After many years we took the family on a Disney Cruise and current will be the first and last one taken. I do not understand the hype and blind following DCL has. We are fans of the parks and hotels, annual pass holders, but it seems like the Cruise Line just does not have the same standards as the parks. While the ship is nice enough, the layout leave a lot to be desired. To start the main ...

We are experienced cruisers but this was our first Disney cruise, so we used it as an opportunity to compare a few of the other cruise lines that we've been on vs. the DCL experience. The good news is we had a good time on the cruise with no major hiccups. Disney definitely gears it's cruise experience to families with young children. As an older couple travelling with our pre-teen, we felt a ...

Disappointing Disney Cruise Experience

My family and I have cruised with Disney on six different occasions and are considered Castaway Club Gold members. We have always enjoyed cruising with Disney and have grown accustomed to exceptional service. We sailed with Disney the first week of March 2022--immediately before the pandemic shutdown all cruises. We were a bit anxious at the beginning of that cruise, but our concerns were ...

My husband and I have been on more than 20 cruises with other cruise lines (Celebrity, Princess, Norwegian, Carnival, MSC) but this was our first Disney cruise and it will also be our last. Starting with online check-in which took 4 hours for the two of us, there were so many little things that we'd come to expect on other cruise lines that were absent on Disney: robes and tote bags in the all ...

Overall, this cruise was enjoyable and worth the doing. The ship itself is beautiful, well maintained, and the crew exceptional (with a few exceptions). The dining and wait staff were amazing and we enjoyed every meal and dining room experience. We made great use of the Spa, especially the Rainforest which was most definitely worth the add on pricing. We were a couple traveling without ...

First time Disney Cruisers and totally rate this ship

My boyfriend and I have been on a cruise every year (except 2020) for six years. We where not sure if Disney Fantasy would be the right for us as we do not have children. So glad we did it. The ship is stand out there is plenty to do as a couple you do not feel in the minority if you are not sailing with kids. The entertainment onboard was the star of the show. Although we did not have children we ...

Our First Disney Cruise

We have cruised several times, but this was our first Disney cruise. We were traveling with our adult daughter, son-in-law and two granddaughters. We flew into MCO (Orlando) the day before the cruise. We stayed at Embassy Suites Airport which had a free shuttle from the airport. The next morning we were picked up by a Suburban from Access Transportation to be driven to the port. I cannot ...

A fun "pandemic era" Star Wars" cruise at sea

This cruise happened during the height of the Omicron wave when ships had started to tighten up onboard safety measures once again. With that said, and even with the safety protocols in place, Disney delivered quality entertainment, above average dining and wonderful, caring crew. The other surprise with this cruise is that it was at the time where USVI were not allowing that many ships to ...

Overall good experience

In general I think Disney does a terrific job of embarkation and disembarkation compared to other cruise lines I’ve experienced. There is a line to stand in to get your initial embarkation “ticket”, and the woman who served us was a bit of an idiot, including writing the wrong stateroom numbers on our boarding passes, but otherwise it was smooth. The only other thing which was TERRIBLY annoying ...
