We are not extensive cruisers, but this was the most haphazard embarkation we’ve experienced. Security were surly and borderline rude. Passport kiosk didn’t work at all for my partner and myself, so we were directed to the desk. PA announcements were almost impossible to hear, with the echo. The terminal should place electronic screens with instructions.

This was my 5th time on this ship. 3 times on the LRBC chartered cruise, once with my elderly MIL and this time with a friend.
Normally HAL is never my go to cruise line. The last two times are because my MIL is a long time HAL cruiser (she is 91 now) and my friend is 4* HAL.

Chose cruise to join family members. On the first morning we went to the main dining room. My cold breakfast came quickly the remainder of our party waited 45 minutes for their hot food. We took this cruise because it was Available for back to back while visiting differs ports on each segment. Entertainment in the main theater was only BBC and dancers. While both were excellent, we’d like more of a variety. Also missing was Americas Test Kitchen, though it’s still listed. There was the same comedian in BB Kings on several nights. We did a back to back on the Nieuw Amsterdam using covid future cruise credits. We took the offer to upgrade to a sky suite & it was well worth it. Except for the internet... Slow, unreliable & a headache..
Room attendant, Meals, bar-staff & ship were excellent!

We're past HA Cruisers. We have 15+ cruises that we've enjoyed. Everything was really good about his cruise except 3 things.
1. The boarding process was a cattle car. 1500 or so people stuck in a terminal in Ft. Lauderdale with room for 800 to sit. And it took forever to get all the groups aboard.
2. The internet speed.
3. The internet being down far too often.

Just returned last Sunday (NOV. 20th) from Caribbean cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam on 14 days of the worst HAL cruise that we ever experienced. With more than 400 days on HAL ships and having sailed on this ship twice before, we never experienced anything remotely like this.
