If you have never been to San Francisco before, you should go to the wharf. Many great restaurants, seals, ships, shops and sights to see. Also Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park and the downtown area. Embarkation and disembarkation went quite well, but that area of the Pier is a very crowded area, I would rather sail from Los Angeles or San Diego.
