Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Grand Princess

We just returned from a 10 night Mexican Riviera cruise on Grand Princess and we were disappointed and occasionally even frustrated with the obviously diminished quality and service throughout! There was a joke going the rounds about how Princess had successfully completed a new process to remove all flavor from the food. The meats were frequently dry or sinewy and we even sent them back on ...

Some friends of ours booked us this cruise so we could be with them and go to the Mexican Riviera. Well, when we first got onboard, we went to our cabin and found that our key cards wouldn't work on the lock. Also we found 3 service men working in our room, at that time. So we went to the desk and had new key cards made, then went back to our cabin, only to find the crewmembers still working ...

I have always wanted to go to Hawaii on a cruise so we picked the Grand Princess out of San Francisco. I only travel Princess cruises. The Grand is not Grand any more it needs a lot of repairs. The chairs in the pizza place they need cushions on the bottom of the chairs for noise. It is really noisy when people get up to leave or sit down. I would like to see someone go around the ship with soap ...

Not up to Princess standards

We chose this cruise in order to visit Hawaii, which we enjoyed. The ship may be a "grand old lady" but the emphasis is on"old" and her wrinkles were showing. For example, the air con. varied greatly from one venue to the next with parts of the dining rooms being unpleasantly cold. Dining: We ate in the Micaelangelo most evenings, the maitres 'd dealt wih allergy issues very competently. ...

Do not choice cabin Emerald 305 Deck 8. It is right above the promenade deck and the entrance door to the ship. All you hear is the door slamming all day and night. Ask for a cabin change immediately. I can not understand how Princess can honestly sell this cabin. If you call customer service they will be accommodating and offer to change and move your stuff to a quieter cabin. Take ...

This is one of my favorite itineraries. I love the sea days and really appreciate Princess providing 3 varied lecturers over very different topics to help occupy the sea days. I like the fact that the desserts are NOT in the main buffet area and the flow was flow of traffic was much better on the Grand than on many other Princess ships. I like the new hand wash stations in Horizon Court! Very ...

The Grand Princess is grand no more. The dry dock in December 2016 brought new carpet in some public areas, amd new mattresses. The state room carpets are still in need of replacement, and the old girl is showing her age in many other ways. Uneven flooring, creaking joints between ceiiling panels and wall parts, resulting in very loud noises when we hit rougher water. Dining: Anytime Dining ...

Princess quality has slipped in my esteem

It has been six years since my last Princess Cruise but I have been on six prior to this LA-Hawaii round trip (1/09/17). I was disappointed with some aspects, pleased with others. Bad news first: 1) An unconscionable wait for Anytime Dining. Only one dining room was set aside for Anytime Dining, the Michelangelo. After long waits on two nights, we switched to Traditional Dining to avoid ...

The Grand is one of our favorite princess ships they have always had top notch crew ,waiters, room stewards etc. And that was the case on this cruise to Hawaii. But I must say the old ship has seen better days. I can't believe how much she has gone down hill. Our first night sea we went to bed and we heard a loud crash on our balcony , I ran to the door and found out that the partition between ...

Worst cruise ship/line we've ever been on

This will be our ONLY cruise on Princess. We had high hopes as my brother in law likes Princess and recommended it. We however hated it and here's why: Food - The meat and seafood was grossly overcooked. We sent stuff back, we ordered it "Medium Rare" - it sill came out slammed. The sides were disappointing as well. For the most part everything friend came out soggy. The buffet was horrible, ...
