Mixed experience

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

We chose this cruise because it was Southampton to Southampton, and because of the itinerary. We found that the sea days at the beginning were fine, as we were getting use to the ship, but on the way home, they seemed endless. Also, we knew that Cunard go for formal wear, and many go on the cruise for that reason. For us it became a chore. We had been on the QE on a 4 day cruise in 2011, but ...

Been on Cunard before wonderful experience on Queen Mary and needed short cruise as unable to leave hubby for long due to ill health I picked this as it was a big band cruise . The entertainment in the theatre was excellent but the big band experience was dissapointing difficult to get a seat and if you were on late sitting you missed a lot. The ship was beautiful however I am sorry to say the ...

i picked this cruise as it was sold as a big band cruise and it was going to Amsterdam a city i haven't visited before. Unfortunately I didn't read the itinerary carefully enough the ship actually went into Rotterdam for Amsterda which was an hour and half journey away. As it turned out Rotterdam is quite an interesting city so enjoyed the visit. Amsterdam will have to wait a bit longer for a ...

Great Norwegian Fjord Trip on a Special Ship

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

This is my 6th cruise and 6th different cruise line. What sets Cunard apart is a sense of history that you can’t find on other cruise lines. All the wall decorations are paintings of current and past Cunard-White Star ships and old photos and memorabilia. You might want to read a little bit about the history to fully appreciate it. When the ship is in port it’s seems to be more special than just ...

Norway and Iceland have been on our bucket list for quite a while and the ports certainly didn't disappoint. Same couldn't be said for the cruise after our great time in the Med on Queen Vic two years ago. Is it just the different ship or is Cunard being Carnivalised? Cabin and attendant were great but just about everything else was understaffed, under quality and at times under ...

We liked the ports of call. This ship was a bit to formal for us considering the weight limit on planes these days. It was pretty obvious that they did not want you on board unless you were going to accept the crazy dress code. We found the ship a bit under staffed. The food was good, desserts wonderful however the service seemed a bit amiss. Room steward was wonderful We felt the ...

Brilliant Baltic

Life aboard the Queen Elizabeth was a bit like living at Cliveden/the Ritz or in endless episodes of Downton Abbey, or in a novel by P.G Wodehouse or Agatha Christie. We were constantly surrounded by live music of all types, and with one crew member for each couple, we were literally waited on hand and foot. The ship is Art Deco style, spotlessly clean and ultra luxurious. The staff were ...

Great Baltic Itinerary/Beautiful Ship, but.....

Itinerary well-done, good order, didn't get anywhere on day when all museums were closed, so, that was great. In 14 nights, 7 ports, plus embarking/disembarking Southampton. Rotterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Tallinn, two days St. Petersburg, Warnemunde (but not enough time to go to Berlin), Skagen, Denmark. L We got a very nice magazine type booklet, with our name, booking # ...

I would rate our British Isles cruise a 3.5. We went primarily for the itinerary

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary around the British Isles, with stops in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Orkney Islands, Dublin, Liverpool, and Guernsey. We had sailed on the former QE2 many years ago. The current Queen Elizabeth is a lovely ship, and overall the staff is good. This particular cruise catered to a much older crowd, many passengers in their 80s. I mention this primarily ...
