Not Your Pre-Pandemic Experience

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Magic

Port Canaveral Embarkation. Problem with gangways led to delayed boarding with lots of people standing in the Port Canaveral rain waiting to be checked in because everything was backed up. Thanks to delayed boarding, cabin access was immediate. Cabin was typical interior and quite serviceable. Steward introduced himself and asked what time we wanted our cabin cleaned and if we had any special ...

Enjoyable solo cruise.

I don't think I would choose this size of ship for a solo cruise again but I had a good time. The good was good, better than my last two cruises on Carnival. One of the specific items in the buffet (carving station) was always cold, other than that everything was proper temperature. MDR, Guy's burgers, pizza, Blue Iguana, all good. I had cuchina del capitano's free pasta bar for lunch one day ...

My husband and I decided to try out the Carnival Magic because we had never been on the dream class before. We wanted to see what it was like. We stayed in cabin 11236, which was a cloud 9 spa cabin with a balcony. It was by far more spacious than any interior cabin. It was lovely and quiet. The toiletries were supposed to be Elemis brand since it was a Cloud 9 cabin, but all we had was shampoo ...

Love Carnival, but staffing issues

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Magic

We love cruising with Carnival, unfortunately, staffing shortages were quite evident. Food was still good in the dining room, and the smokehouse was delicious. The pizza is not what it was before. We often waited 20 minutes for a drink, even a simple beer. The dining room also seemed short-staffed, we often did not get water refilled, and one night we were there for 2 hours for dinner. The ...

1st Cruise .... an Honest Review

Well, the kids are young adults now so my wife and I decided to start taking care of us first. I booked a cruise out of Port Canaveral with Carnival. It was our first cruise ever and I booked with Carnival, to be honest, because the fares were the lowest. We took a 6-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos before hand to get some idea of what to expect at each port and ...

After 26 cruises finally sailing on Carnival

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Magic

Background Information This was my 1st Carnival cruise (27th overall for me) and my husband's 2nd Carnival cruise having previously sailed on Conquest. We booked this cruise in Oct 2020 so we'd had a long 770 day countdown! Besides me checking off Carnival as another line sailed, the main reason for booking this cruise was for me to finally get to experience Half Moon Cay. Travel to ...

Wonderful cruise

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Carnival Magic

Loved the destination of Bermuda and a driveable port--Norfolk, VA. Embarkation was challenging because Norfolk is not set up for cruises of over 3000 people. Very slow and disorganized. Get there before your assigned time and be prepared to wait. Once on the ship, everything was nearly perfect the whole week. Only complaint was our dinner dining room waiters did not get our dinner orders ...

Was Pleasantly Surprized - Carnival has wooed me back!

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Magic

At the request of 2 family members I chose a short get-a-way and it was a balcony cabin for $70...can't beat that. I've taken 12 carnival cruises but this was my first one since I switched over to NCL 5 years ago. I'd heard these nightmare stories about fights and embarkation issues and debarkation issues ( some of these are more port related than Carnival related) so I wasn't expecting much ...

First time to Bermuda

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Carnival Magic

Chose this ship because it sailed out of our home port area. The convince of leaving from a home port is a plus. This was our third cruise but first time on Carnival. I wasn’t as impressed as I was on our Royal Caribbean cruises but we still had a great time. The dinning room food was just okay and shows were good but not enough variety. We enjoyed the Best of Bermuda excursion. Though 5 ...
