We absolutely loved serenity and the thermal suite and thalasso pool. We purchased the weekly pass and used the thermal suites daily. This was a first cruise for some of our group and everyone said they would love to go again. This was a ladies only getaway for the four of us, no kids or husbands. Wayan, our cabin Stewart was amazing. We loved the deck party, shows and punchlines club. Stopped at the coffee bar every morning for Chocolate spiked coffee, after having steak and eggs in the dining room. Our dining room experience was fantastic. Sawarut and Frasier kept us entertained and made sure we had everything we could ask for. We found the casino too smoky so we didn't spend anytime there at all. The cave tubing in Belize was the absolute best and the deluxe beach day in Cozumel was really fun. In fact, 2 of us missed the boat (completely our fault as we were late) and they went out of their way and drove us to the private beach to catch up with our friends. Such a fun and relaxing week on Magic! Read Less

We decided to take another cruise for this year's vacation. Our party consisted of myself and my husband, along with my 22 yr old daughter and her boyfriend. We live near the port, so we didn't have far to travel to get on board. The embarkation and debarkation went smoothly. The ship itself is nice and very clean. The cabins were the same as on every other ship but we also had a mini frig in the room. The food was good for the most part. We did not enjoy Guys Ig n BBQ meal. It is open only on sea days from 12-2:30. After waiting all week, we were able to try it. We were very disappointed in all of the food from that restaurant. We decided to try Cocina del Capitano. Although it is an additional $15 per person, it was very good and well worth the money. We were only able to eat about half of the portion! The entertainment staff was really good. The shows were ok, nothing to brag about. The singing was off key, so much that on the 4th night, and thereafter, we left in the middle of the show. The shore excursions were good. Especially the snorkeling on the reef in Belize. Beautiful water and many different types of sea lives. I would definitely go again. The only thing we didn;t like was we found the staff to be less friendly than we experienced on previous Carnival ships. Read Less

Our cruise leaving San Juan was cancelled so we booked this in November so sort of last minute.... needless to say we ended up with dinner at 8:15 in the dining room ( not a hot meal all week long ) I kind a think this is to get u to pay for the steakhouse and pasta restaurants . getting on and off the boat- I don't not know why the have times for people - when they say ok everyone else can go - so all get on/off at once.( Long lines) The comedian did not show up one night and the other comedian shows were not good. The balcony cabin was ok- the steward was good however my husband and I do not require a lot of maintenance ... We did visit the steak house for dinner one night and that was great and the past bar was free at lunch(x3) and these were the only hot meals we received on the boat..... Read Less

The only black star I will give this cruise is the shopping venues on the ship during 1/23/2018. I always buy Cologne and my wife Perfume on our vacations. This time the lady seemed more interested in stocking and unboxing perfume and supplies then helping us. When I asked her to open a new bottle of cologne she dug out an old bottle from the garbage and said that I could smell the top. I asked for her manager because you can't buy cologne that way, you have to spray a piece of paper and give it time. The manager would not open a new tester also to which I replied "how can you buy something that you can't smell?" We ended up purchasing 3 bottles in a shop in town for less than what the ship would sell to us and on top of that they gave a discount because we were purchasing three bottles. I have never been to Belize and wanted to visit that port so we chose Magic. We opted for the Spa Deck because we like the warm therapy beds and I am glad we did because it was colder than regular for the western caribbean. The room was nice and always kept up although the first day we did not receive our robes until the following morning and the room was very late to be made up. The food in the specialty restaurants was OK not crazy amazing, the one bit of advice would be that the staff was not attentive to coming back with bread and water, it basically was a little nicer food than the main dining room but you paid for it and I feel that we had better service in the main dining room. The entertainment would be the only thing I would give low marks on, in the past few years I have noticed that the entertainment was lacking in actual tallent. Overall the ship was very nice and the staff was wonderful. I did get a bit tired of the Cruise directors singing the announcements in the morning. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the ports but mother nature decided to send a couple of hurricanes to change the landscape. There is still much to be done to re-coop. There were a lot of debris and destruction but we had a good time anyway. Brittany and Justin were fantastic on the Segway tour in Gran Turk! Megans Bay was a disappointment due to the damage. Work has been there but it looks very different than before the hurricanes. Old San Juan was good. We ate at a rooftop restaurant that was great. Amber Cove was ok but outside the port was dirty. The ship is good but did smell sewer several times. Love the Blue Iguana and Guys Burger. Pig and Anchor was not opened until the last sea day, it was pretty good too. As many others have stated I wished there were more activities for sea days and the night club didn't seem to have much going on in the form of dancing. Two of our dining room staff were great (Dimitar and Hatakhanok) but the main guy was RUDE! My husband didn't think we'd like the Seuss breakfast but it was the best breakfast of all and we had some great ones! All in all it was a good cruise but next time if hurricanes get there before we do we might just re-book. Read Less

The service on the Lido has really gone down hill. Plates piled up on the tables. People eating their whole meals with the plates and such piled on the table from the last group. We cruised with Princess the week before and their Lido staff was great. I talked to one group and they said that when they asked on of the staff on the Lido if they could clear off a table for them, the person said that it was not their job and walked away. Carnival has cut to the bone. See Cabin Review below. Our Cabin Steward was very good and I understand that she could not do anything about the smell in the cabin. The Menu in the dining room has gotten boring and the number of choices has gone down. One night our dinning room steward forgot to bring my appetizer until I was halfway through my main course. In general the ship looks good, and the entertainment was good. Read Less

I sailed on the Magic 1-6-18 with my husband for our 12th anniversary. We don't get to cruise often, so it's always a treat. We splurged this time and booked a Cloud 9 spa suite, which was fantastic. We really enjoyed the spa access and easy access to the serenity deck. I've never stayed that far forward before. It worked out well because we weren't too far from lido and our dining room was forward as well. The ship itself was great. Everything seemed well-tended. The staff was excellent -- everyone from our steward to the bartenders to the random guy pushing water off the deck. Dining was mixed. High points were Blue Iguana and the Prime Steakhouse (get the filet!). I also highly recommend the appetizers at the Red Frog Pub -- even though they cost a little extra. Dinners in the MDR were just "meh" for me. Appetizers and desserts were great, but the entrees were lacking. But food is subjective, so there you have it. We only went to one show, America Rocks, and enjoyed that. The pre-show was fun too. Other than that we did some of the comedy shows and played some trivia. Dr. E, the cruise director is fantastic. Normally I don't pay too much attention to the cruise directors, but he was a lot of fun. This was a great itinerary, and I would definitely repeat it. We've been to Cozumel a few times, but Belize, Costa Maya, and Roatan are beautiful, and I want to see more! Rendezvous Cay off Belize is a must do. The beaches in Costa Maya were perfect, too. It rained when we were in Roatan, but the free beach at Mohagany Bay was a serviceable substitute when our planned excursion was cancelled. if you see the guys selling jerk chicken from a smoker, get some! Overall, I loved this ship, and would not hesitate to book again. Read Less
