Overall the cruise was enjoyable.
The dining room was really good as our server Marius and his two assistants were great. Really attentive and fast with their service and the food was very good.
Only disappointing thing was that the cruise lines all charge for the specialty coffees like cappuccinos now as well as the coffee shops. The last cruise that we did was three years ago and the coffee ...
We drove down the night before and stayed at Country Inn and Suites. It was a great one night stay and the customer service was phenomenal. We parked the car at a cost of $40 for the week and did the round trip free shuttle. We were on the first shuttle and left about 10:15.
We zipped thru the Platinum check-in and were ready to board. They finally cleared the ship and boarding began after 11:30. ...
This was our 7th Carnival cruise but our 1st on the Dream. We loved this ship and didn't feel crowded on board. It is a beautiful ship with an excellent layout. The dining room has very good food and the service was excellent. We had the My Time dining and it worked out fine. We ate one evening at the premium Steak house, which was very good, but in my opinion, not worth the extra fee of $35. The ...
We sailed on September 14th and it was our third cruise (all with Carnival). We drove down the night before and stayed at Country Inn and Suites near the port. We had booked their cruise package which included parking and shuttle to/from the ship. Saturday morning we could see our ship waiting for us. Our 9 year old son loved the room because it had a "kids" area partitioned off - bunk beds and ...
I frequently write reviews on TripAdviser and have found that by simply stating the facts in a Pros, Cons, and Summary format is fairly effective. The point afterall is to try to help others to make a well informed decision when it comes time for them to shop for a vacation.
Pros:
The Dream is a beautiful ship; large and well laid out.
Once you get past the parking lot fiasco embarkation is ...
Originally booked in a balcony upgraded to OS 7274 a few weeks before sailing for just a little more $$ than we had already paid. I am fortunate enough to have been on many cruises and most every cruise line as I work in the travel industry.
We live just 30 minutes from the port so we dropped the fur kids off at Grannies and she drove us out to the port, arrived 11:30 went straight to the ...
I would definitely go on the Carnival Dream again. The experience was exactly what it should be -- fun and not too serious. Meeting all the people on the cruise ship was the best part. We made friends with everybody from families, singles, couples, groups, and crew. It was a week long fun-fest. I think its important not to take anything too seriously though.
As a former hospitality-industry ...
If you enjoy break dancing shows, and a theatre( where in the third deck, your knees were touching the next row). If someone had to get in or out, the whole row had to get out first (jamming too many people into too small a space),loud music, and a ship filled with nothing but bars. Casual and never elegant, 4900 passengers trying to jam into a few small pools, and lots of drinking, then you'll ...
We were a group of 10 on the Empress Deck, cabins 7412, 7414, 7416, 7418, and 7420. Loved the location of the cabins and our room stewards were great.
Had a great time - loved Roatan and would recommend Little French Key there. Did Maya Chan at Costa Maya and loved it there as well.
Didn't like that the show schedules have been switched around. We like the late seating for dinner but instead of ...
This was our 5th cruise on Carnival first time on the Dream.
Ship - Pros - We Pretty much knew our way around the ship since they are all basically the same layout. There were a few exceptions. We do like the new outside deck 5 that allows for a lot more self time with out a bunch of people around since most people are on the other decks. Plus in the evening no one is on that deck and you pretty ...
