First of all we are huge Norwegian fans so we were excited for this trip. It was 14 of us total in 5 cabins. Bottom line is you should stay away from this ship.
The ship: we were very disappointed in how confined this ship is. Very little open space and almost no outside area except the top deck. Way finding is impossible. Several times I made the joke with employees if they were lost ...
My wife and I have been on both Disney and Celebrity Cuise Lines in the past, this is the first on Norwegian. It is also our first cruise over Christmas.
The good- lots to do and the Entertainment was the best we have seen on a cruise ship. We liked the balcony room design and our attendant was fantastic. If you have kids this ship is for you. Our favourite restaurants were The Bistro and ...
We wanted to avoid the whole Christmas hassle of travelling to see family, so we made this choice;. Overall, this cruise met our expectations. With very few exceptions, all staff were cheerful and helpful. With many venues at which to eat, one would expect getting into restaurants would be easy, but without reservations you will be disappointed, yet we were never in a full restaurant! The ...
We did this and the new year cruise b2b. I was travelling solo in the studio, and my daughter and son-in-law were also aboard. We always cruise the Caribbean over the festive period, on P&O, Celebrity, Princess. I was on Epic a couple of years ago and enjoyed it, although it is very laid-back I thought it would make a change. Plus as a solo cruiser it was a financially sensible choice. My ...
Port Canaveeral is not the most efficient port to sail from. This is not NCLs fault, its the Port Authority. To few security screeners made check in very slow and lack of a harbor pilot delayed return docking by 30 minutes making some people scramble for early morning flights from Orlando. We wanted aft facing cabin, but were surprised by small size. Crouded when dressing. Good for two people, not ...
The service onboard the ship was absolutely horrible. Waiting 20 minutes in line at bars, having to search for my server in restaurants, and recurrent hour long waits for a table. The Waves pool bar was ridiculous, terribly understaffed and the drinks were so obviously watered down. The servers working around the pool deck were also understaffed and this created a point of frustration throughout ...
This is not a cruise for you if:
- It is important that cruise staff stays inconspicuous and blends into the background.
- You need accommodations for your dietary restrictions.
- You are hoping for memorable food experiences (Moderno was an exception)
- You do not have the patience for poorly-managed crowds.
- You must have a pool fully available to you most of the time.
- You ...
We chose Norwegian because this was a family trip and we had sailed on Norwegian several times before. We have also cruised on other lines such as Celebrity, Windstar, Holland America, Regent and AMA. I was somewhat anxious when we booked the cruise because the ship is so large, but it was for a family vacation so I thought it would be okay.
One of the reasons we chose Norwegian is for the ...
Hubby heard it was good so we tried it. I really hated it but he made peace with it since it was his idea. Almost impossible to get a drink within 15 minutes. Had to wait over 1/2 hour at poolbar. Could not ever get seated at O'Sheehans without a wait with a pager( 30-45 minutes) although many empty tables near the pool tables. All bars were understaffed. Only 1 bartender at casino bar at ...
This was planned well in advance with 4 couples and 2 adult children. This is our 11th cruise and this one would rate only about 3.5 stars to us. Food was excellent, staff we encountered were excellent, room was well kept. Now the downside. We went 12-15-2018 to 12-22-2018, the ship was packed. Not sure you could have shoehorned another person on board. Many of the activities you had to either ...
