We've been on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Carnival cruises. Decided to try a Norwegian cruise over New Years because I thought it would be fun. Loved the itinerary (Tortola, St Thomas, and Norwegian's private island Coco Cay).
Ok, what I meant in my title. We're big Texas fans and were looking forward to watching them play in the Sugar Bowl on New Years Day. Do you know how ...
A group of 10 of us decided to book this cruise for a fun NYE cruise. We live in Florida and the cruise was taking off from Port Canaveral so it was a breeze getting to port. Embarkation was easy and quick despite the lines... Disembarkation was a nightmare and took about 45 minutes.
We all had cruised this ship before and loved it -- if this was our first cruise on the ship, we never would go ...
This was the 2nd of 2 back-to-backs, Dec. 22 and 29, 2019. Having been on Caribbean cruises before, we did not make plans for off-ship organized tours, as we were warned of the slow disembarkation, especially by tenders, making it necessary to get into line early!!!. NCL did its best to make this easier, but it was still an hour and a half, with an arranged tender time, to get off ship at Great ...
Planned New Years cruise to relax - didn't necessarily care about the ports. From day one it was a bad experience - the room was filthy, dirty carpet with rat droppings all over. The sofa was filthy, I put a towel on it before I could sit. Paid for a suite with a balcony as usual. Would not have stayed if it were a hotel. The shows were very good, easy to get into, very pleased. Dining was ...
We chose this cruise to give Norwegian a chance, and because we like the itinerary for the holiday. We've previously cruised with Carnival and Royal Caribbean. We had high expectations for this cruise, but they fell flat from the beginning at embarkation.
Embarkation, we arrived at the beginning of our time slot, to find the line went outside, and around the bus/shuttle drop off area... twice.. ...
This was our first sailing with Norwegian and will be our last. Nothing about this cruise line compares to others like Disney or Royal Caribbean. Three months prior to sailing, it was nearly impossible for us to make dining reservations at any of the specialty restaurants so our Norwegian cruise consultant suggested we wait to make them until we got onboard. We followed his advice (against our ...
First let me start with the Howl at the Moon dueling pianos was amazing. Wayne in piano / martini bar - amazing. Allen at Maltings - best bartender on that ship. Now that the really important stuff is out of the way, see below for all the rest..
Service in bars - terrible for the most part. Long waits and serious attitude.
Service at the Manhattan dining room - omg. We had this one waiter ...
The Epic is an interesting ship. It has great restaurant choices and excellent entertainment. However, the locations on the ship other than the theater are far too small for the number of cruisers. When the ship is not full it is very comfortable, but when the ship is at or near capacity, you will find yourself in a line, a crowd or a long wait for dining. We never were about to attend some of the ...
The cruise itself was a good cruise but the service in the main dining rooms was slow. Did not have stuff going on doing down times so you would get tired and possibly miss out on some of the things you wanted to see. Also going to some of the shows there was no sating so you either ended up standing up in the back or sitting on the floor. Also the entertainment was not as good as it has been on ...
Norwegian Epic Review
Overview
I chose this cruise because I wanted to surprise my wife and six-year-old with a Christmas cruise away from home. It’s just the three of us, so a tropical climate sounded good vs cold Colorado this time of year. The Norwegian Epic was my fifth, and last NCL cruise for a while. My family’s experience was not a complete failure, but it sure wasn’t ...
