Just completed 11 day European cruise (Spain, Italy, France) on NCL Epic, with three overnight stays- Barcelona, Rome, Livorno. The itinerary was good and the overnight stays were great. However, NCL is a very substandard cruise line and the Epic is also a substandard ship compared with any other we have been on. We have done a dozen cruises on Holland America, Princess and Royal Carribean. ...
I just returned from a 12 day med cruise on the Norwegian Epic and sadly it looks it age. It’s definitely in need of a fresh look and update. Most disappointing of all is the odd bathroom design of separate sink/shower/toilet adjacent to the front cabin door with zero privacy. The food on board is ok, buttress in some of the specialty restaurants. The main dining room service was uneven and the ...
The suite was amazing and spacious. Two bedrooms both with bathrooms. It was perfect for our family.
My daughter was always excited to see what treat would be in our room each afternoon. Chocolate strawberries were her favourite.
The Haven restaurant staff were lovely and friendly. The food was also good although the menu doesn't change. There is also a children's menu of pizza, pasta, ...
The itinerary was excellent, although we won't ever embark/disembark from Marseille again thanks to their brutal taxation.
Staff were friendly and attentive throughout the ship. Given the age of the ship, it's not in bad shape, the rooms that seem to be rated poorly due to design reminded us of the 2 RV's we once owned and loved.
I would have no hesitation booking on this ship ...
We wanted to do a Mediterranean cruise. Travelled on the Epic which has been updated - State room with balcony mid ship for up to 3 - way too small for 2 people - have to step aside everytime- bed is too short (husband is 5'11") you have to pull out an extension and then it is difficult get to bathroom; sink in bedroom - noisy if other person is still sleeping; A lot of entertainment in the ...
We cruised on the Epic around eight years ago and loved it and were happy to book again. After booking and then reading the reviews, our expectations dropped but we were so pleasantly surprised! We booked primarily for the itinierary, stopping at all the best ports in the Mediterranean and the weather was perfect every day. The entertainment is most important to us and we were spoilt for choice ...
I've mostly sailed in Mexico and Western Caribbean. I've always wanted to do the Western Mediterranean. I found this big ship beautiful and well maintained. Everything was polished and clean. The service was great as always in the restaurants, room service and attendant. We had a balcony room which was slightly smaller than the NCL cruiseships, but the balcony was generous. The twin beds really ...
We chose this ship and cruise line because we cruised 4 years ago on this ship and really enjoyed it. This time, however, was a completely different experience. We had been delayed getting to Venice to meet the ship because of Air Traffic Control glitch that had affected the UK but we had booked through NCL so they got us alternative flights the next day to meet the ship in Dubrovnik. We were ...
When booking our honeymoon we thought that the price of NCL outweighed the benefits of another more expensive cruise. In hindsight, they are cheap for a reason. The cruise started rough because of some storms which left people waiting in lines for up to 10 hours before boarding the ship. We were lucky and only waited 4 hours after our original check in time. Once on the ship we found out our ...
We have cruised about 5 times before and enjoyed it a lot. We picked this cruise because of the itinerary which was great. Everything else was terrible, ship is old, tired and a horrible design, unless you want to go to the casino. The food was ok, the entertainment was almost none existent. The game shows we did attend were extremely old fashioned and sexist. The tendering was so unbelievable ...
