Oh Dear...

Review for Marella Spirit to Europe - Western Mediterranean

We chose a "cruise and stay" package from TUI/Marella/Thomson as we hadn't visited any of the ports (Gibraltar, Cadiz, Portimao, Lisbon and Porto) apart from Malaga itself, and because we fancied a week on the Costa Del Sol. The destination ports were absolutely brilliant and we couldn't have asked for more in 7 days. The staff, almost without exception, were attentive, courteous and friendly. ...

Really old, shaky and cold food (but friendly staff!)

Before I start the review just want to say we are a couple in our mid-20s and recognise that our review may not be reflective of every bodies experiences!! The ship The ship is very old and dated. This has been stated in previous reviews so possibly our fault for not researching better. This means there’s not a proper mini fridge in your room, the boat is REALLY shaky (we only have ...

We have been on Marella Spirit/cruise called Spirit of Iberia/TUI 1-8 July Oh well, where to start. This is not my first cruise but first European one... The boat is extremely old.. No refurbishment works being done at all. I booked this cruise trip online on TUI website, called Spirit of Iberia on Marella Spirit boat. There was an option to choose Full board or All inclusive package. Me and ...

My first time in a Thomson/Marella cruise: Marella Spirit.... I Can’t fault the cruise check-in process we were on the ship within 15 minutes of arriving at the port!! The ship.....for her age to be honest she’s ok!! Yes she’s a bit dated and there are definitely signs of neglect over the years that she’s been at Thomson/Marella cruises but reading some of the reviews I was dubious and ...

The Horror of Cabin 151

Review for Marella Spirit to Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We chose this cruise for the destinations and were not disappointed but the SHIP was DREADFUL. This very, very tired ship had the Norovirus the week before our trip so the swimming pools were emptied and nets put over them which looked terrible, long queues for mediocre food because it all had to be served by staff with plastic gloves,we were sprayed constantly in an effort to control the virus, ...

We choose this cruise for a family cruise with my children, 19 and 21 and my husbands dad of 80. Our first problem was on getting to the cabin we were sharing with my father in law it was only set for 2 people, 2 beds made and 2 towels. On reporting this we were told it would be done by 6PM. We returned at this time to find the cabin the same. My father in law would normally sleep in the day ...

Review for Marella Spirit to Europe - Western Mediterranean

We have cruised with Thompson for many years but this last cruise on the Spirit was really ruined by noise levels experienced in the cabin. Due to the noise levels experienced when the ship was maneuvering in and out of ports especially early mornings ruined our on board experience due to sleep deprivation one morning we were disturbed very early. I have recorded the level of noise and ...

We chose the ship as this was a first cruise for three women and the reviews were good. It was like a floating residential home with a hint of urine. The food ranged from very poor to middling, the drinks were okay and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our cabin was very small and smelly and the corridors were dirty. Getting on and off the ship was straightforward and we proved to ...

If you like the following: • poor food & choice (carrots & courgettes with every type of meal including curry) • wooden sticks instead of tea spoons to stir your tea/coffee • a ship that shudders with constant vibration on all decks even when not moving • a very hard bed • sometimes only cold water in bathroom • loos that refuse to flush until some considerable time after you ...
