This was our first cruise and was all we imagined and more. The ship has loads of character and yes there us some vibrations but I found it relaxing. The staff and food were fantastic. We could not fault anything. Our room steward Fernand was great and mad us several towel sculptures which I loved.I know it's not for everyone but we are now looking at our next cruise. We visited Malta which was beautiful and we would go back to. Sicily was ok but only as we did a trip to taromina as Catania looked terrible, graffiti everywhere. We loved Argostoli in Kefalonia and would go back there. We had a tender to shore which was very good. We did a trip to Alberbello when docked in Brindisi which was beautiful. Kotor in Montenegro was absolutely stunning and not to be missed. Looking forward to exploring Croatia for our week now. Read Less

We have been on the Celebration a couple of times before so we new what to expect. The TUI flight was on time from Gatwick on the Dreamliner plane. The bonded luggage should be adopted at all airports as it is in Dubrovnic, where you check your luggage in as usual at the airport, and the next time you see it is outside you cabin door when you arrive on board, The same on return, your luggage is collected from outside your cabin on the last night and you next see it on the belt at the home airport. Last time on the Celebration we checked in on board and it went very smoothly, this time we checked in in a shed at the dockside and it was chaos, queue, queue, and more queues. Our cabin was 203, a de-luxe cabin on deck 6 right at the front of the ship looking foreward and was very quiet. We ate breakfast and lunch in the Lido, and dinner in the main dining room and found the food and service excellent. The waiters now serve the wine as well, and that kept flowing nicely. We were not pestered at all to upgrade to the premium drinks package as the standard package was adequate for us, nor were we pestered to have photos taken we just said 'no thanks' and were left alone. We did dine at the extra payable 'Kora La' restaurant one night and that also was excellent. We only went on one excursion and that was to the Corinth canal trip from Athens, which included a boat trip on the canal which was amazing to think the canal was dug by slaves. We went to all the shows in the show lounge which included an excellent comedian one night, and he returned the next evening for a late night 'adult' session. It's a shame that the Celebration will soon be leaving the fleet, although it has always had its 'wobble' its always been our ( and lots of other people) favourite. Read Less

We chose this cruise as a belated honeymoon and it was my husbands birthday on the 30th. Our cabin was just so noisy, vibrations, clanging and banging and something hydraulic kept going off at various times. I felt the ship was tired and it reminded me more of a posh ferry, no charm about it. There are not enough seats in the bars and every night, is pretty much the same as the night before regarding entertainment. I was hoping there might be some dance lessons but it is too small although we were offered a talk on liver drainage. Food was ok although if you are in the lido it was only warm and the meals in the Meridian were bland and boring. Nothing spicy because they want you to pay extra and eat in the Asian restaurant. We did eat at the hot stone and the steak was great, starters and deserts we're not so good. Coffee port is great which is just as well as free coffee is awful. The best meal was the afternoon tea, loved it! The excursions are well organised, but you do not get enough free time, even to stop for a drink when walking in the hot weather. I have to say all the staff are excellent, polite and friendly and ship was kept spotless and ran like clockwork. We weren't sorry to get off and we're pleased we did cruise and stay in Dubrovnik instead of 14 nights cruise. I have rated cabin average because of noise. It was quite spacious with plenty of storage in bathroom. Read Less

Our room was also beside the staff room (we think) so that may give you a clue as to where about a we were. as many times that we walked to or from our room and encountered various staff members every single one acknowledged us with a nod or hello, (again cannot express how good their social skills and manners were, even when they were finishing a long shift)!! this review site and couldn’t not leave a review, even though it’s 14 month later”! Myself (44) and my father (63) booked our first ever cruise at the last minute (3 days in advance) in july 2018. My father booked our twin room with porthole on the telephone directly with a tui rep. As i am just browsing online now i’m kind of thinking errrmm we were robbed by the rep. as we didn’t know any different at the time it was, what it was!! Anyway, we boarded a plane at newcastle to dubrovnik and after check-in at newcastle we didn’t see our suitcases again till we arrived at our room onboard, which was excellent! transfer from airport to port was smooth and we joined in with all of the queuing and having photos taken by the pro’s at the port. We were onboard within approx 20 minutes and just kept following the directions of crew and followed the crowd. Once onboard it was more queues but everything was very civilised and as we came through the dining room there was music playing which i personally appreciated as it had a calming effect. Whilst waiting to be given our room information there was a man hovering/offering drinks upgrades. He was the least pushy salesman ever, which had a positive affect as he actually made myself and others approach him to enquire what he was offering. neither myself or my father knew anything about such upgrades. i drink vodka and he drinks stout/beer, grey goose was my upgrade and “cold cans- guaranteed” of tetley's for dad. i’m never ever ill when i drink grey goose and anyone that knows about tetley's knows it’s not tolerated from a pump if it is poor quality, frothy, warm etc. So needless to say we upgraded, i can’t remember exactly how much it was but i will guesstimate £100 each for the whole week. as the cans were approx £4/£5 each of we were going to have to buy them the upgrade was a no brainer! The staff were outstanding in every single area of the ship, the food was decent in the help yourself buffet area, with different choices daily. the fact that we could sit down in the other restaurant if dressed correctly and be served by staff was a lovely touch as a non-payment extra. we did also eat in both of the payable restaurants and again it was worth it as it felt as though we were in a different eatery. All of the bar staff got used to us as we tended to sit in the same areas daily and in the same bars and seating areas on an evening. This meant sometimes we just had to nod or wave to get our drinks refreshed whilst in a noisy area or whilst watching the shows. I cannot compliment the staff enough for their memories and attention to detail in this area. The entertainment crowd can also not be commended enough. I saw how hard the showtime crew worked and practised during the day and then they put on 2 full shows on an evening. the other entertainment crowd entertained us during the day, playing bingo, daft quizzes and just being around and then they were up on stage in one room or another on an evening! again i cannot fault any of them. the man that was cleaning and looking after our corridor was a star turn, he was such a happy man always singing and dancing and an absolute joy to encounter! We did a couple of trips via the ships tour operators (without feeling robbed) which were fab as we went up onto the hills of montenegro which was outstanding and athens was just something else. we also got off the ship and wandered around at every other port that we docked at and have no complaints. We were on a “child free” cruise which suited us perfectly. As someone that normally has a decent sense of direction i was absolutely useless at finding my way around, so i continuously went the long way around to anywhere i went. this was highly amusing for the people we met who became friends and moreso if i did go to the bar to order drinks and the staff carried them back to the room for me as the staff had worked out which room i was in and would take me the more direct route. We had perfect weather which obviously no-one has any control over but it made a massive difference as the seas were calm as well as the sun shining. I have very little to be negative about but i have to be true to the people who may read this. So.... Again as it was so long ago i can’t remember which level we were on, but.... We must have been somewhere near the engine room as the fumes in the corridor were quite bad and we had to put towels across the bottom of the door. to be fair we aren’t the sort of people that complain if we can deal with it, so as we were putting the towel across the bottom of the door we didn’t once complain. We had 1 major complaint and that is tui were not showing the england world cup games on any tv’s. all we had was sports news report on 1 tv in the coffee room and we didn’t even have the radio as suggested we would have. we had been told they had apparently shown the royal wedding a few months previous and individuals were able to get games on personal phones, laptops etc yet we were being told the signal wasn’t available. at one port (corfu i think) loads of us got off and went scouring for pubs with the england game of the day on. we only saw the first half and had to run back to the ship before it departed. after a lot of hoo haa we did eventually get the england vs croatia game on, and as we pulled back into croatian waters the final whistle went and england were out of the 2018 world cup. Now i know that result is neither tui or marella’s fault, but it just felt like an unnecessary lot of stress towards the end of an absolutely excellent holiday and first cruise experience. As aforementioned i am already browsing and looking at the possibility of another cruise, this time to see the northern lights. Read Less

We wanted to do something special for our Silver wedding anniversary so we decided on the Adriatic Affair itinerary, where we celebrated our vows, followed by a hotel stay. The whole experience was fantastic. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and hardworking and the ship was lovely. Patrick, our cabin steward, was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for him. I had a light mishap with my dress, when we were getting ready for dinner at the captain’s table; however, some of the stewards were quickly on hand with a sewing kit, so a disaster was avoided. The food and drink were plentiful. We upgraded to premium all inclusive due to us preferring ‘zero’ pop, and my husband’s love of coffee. Our Celebration of Vows, in Venice, was perfect, and Elaine ( the social/welfare hostess) ensured that everything was perfect! It was lovely that she could share our special moment with us, along with the lovely Captain Nikos. We have got some lovely photographs that were taken by the onboard photographer. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and will definitely be back on the Celebration as soon as we can. Read Less

The full cruise was an adventure from start to finish. The on board team and crew were enthusiastic, friendly and most helpful when needed. There are so many crew I would like to mention, but some individuals deserve highlighting. Our cabin servicer PUTU was great, he was helpful and did his job to the highest standards, he is a credit to the ship and the team on it. The Bar teams were mind readers......they knew exactly what my wife and I drank without us even asking....Ervin and Wilson in the Horizons and Kumar, Sheldon, Kenneth and Sushil in the Hemmingway's Bar were always on hand even at daft O'clock in the morning. The food was very good and the shows were entertaining. The staff in the restaurants were great, they even sang Happy Birthday…..which was a memorable moment when the kitchen team came out front. The cabin had plenty of room in it with plenty of storage space for the belonging we took and the extras my wife always manages to accrue whilst we were away. The holiday was a special celebration for my wife, the extras didn't disappoint. The flowers the cake and the in cabin decorations were well received and appreciated….oh yes and the bubbly and strawberries went down a treat. we are looking already for next years cruise. Read Less

This cruise was chosen as a family celebration for a 60th birthday. Our party consisted of 8, and had 3 children. Firstly whilst some renovations and refurbishments have been done the ship is still very outdated, and the lay out and location of certain facilities does not lend itself to being very child or family friendly. The main lifts are in the middle of the ship, and there are additional ones at either end. However to get to the designated children’s swimming pool there is not a direct lift, and you then have to walk through a restaurant to access it. It is not a brilliant idea to have the kids pool in an area where adults are drinking alcohol, and the lack of toilets on the same level as the pool is also poorly thought out. You either have to walk back through the restaurant or climb external stairs to the deck above, whilst navigating a further adult only bar. The food in the self service restaurant was mediocre at best with a very limited choice. The food and service in the a la cartel restaurant we couldn’t fault. Excursions were very expensive. Bottled water was chargeable, despite every other cruise company docking in the same ports as us offering water for free. The cabin was fairly spacious and the majority of the staff were very helpful. The evening entertainment was amateur but it was clear that the cast were trying their best. There were several good points about our holiday but unfortunately the small things soon mount up and tipped the balance for us. Read Less

Previously sailed on Spirit so layout of ship identical. Seemed like the ship was shaking herself to bits. Vibration from engines was constant and on every deck and location of the ship. Last night in port I was unable to sleep because of the vibrations. Celebration needs to be retired. Staff are all excellent and food of a high standard particularly the Meridian restaurant. Didn't try the speciality restaurants. Lido restaurant always had a good selection of dishes, particularly liked the afternoon tea spread. Excursions were well organised but maybe allow for more free time to explore, find a cafe or W.C. Then hunt for souvenirs. Cabins were cleaned and refreshed regularly and any issues were addressed immediately. For us there were not enough dancing opportunities. Bands good but playing pop classics only suitable for “dad dancing” or as background music. No chance to do any ballroom or Latin dancing. Read Less

Chose this cruise as we were constricted by time and wanted to visit Athens. We had been with Marella before and researched the ship before booking so knew what to expect. Luggage was dropped off at Gatwick and didn’t see it again until it was delivered to the cabin (the reverse happened on departure). Embarkation was quick but as there were only 1200 passengers there was no Premium boarding. Our cabin was roomy and clean with better decor than Discovery which was very bland. Plenty of storage and hangers. The balcony was adequate with 2 chairs and a side table, some balconies were larger with sun beds but also had less privacy. Navigating around the ship could be a bit confusing as not all lifts went to deck 9, some stairways gave no indication of what deck you were on and some corridors were dead ends. There were more than sufficient sun beds on the decks for the number of guests. Food was excellent although, being a small ship, there was not a massive choice in the buffet. Plenty of seating in the restaurants. We didn’t do any shore excursions but most destinations were interesting, those that weren’t we went to the beach. We knew beforehand about the vibration but didn’t find it a real problem, it was felt more in some places than others. A few children onboard but not a lot of activities, guests mainly middle aged to elderly. Read Less

Having cruised with Marella (Thomson) since 2011 we were looking forward to another excellent cruise. We did the same repositioning cruise last year, the only problem then was a squeaking from a ship structure which had broken loose and squeaked to the movement of the ship, we were in the same cabin this year and it had been fixed. The cabin staff were excellent and helpful as usual, in fact all staff were always smiling and eager to ensure you had an excellent cruise. Our first let down was the standard of food in the Meridian Restaurant for evening meal it was the worst we have ever encountered on a Marella (Thomson) cruise, our first two weeks were an excellent example on how to destroy food examples: rib eye steak tough and tasteless, chicken scallops dried out like crisp bread, veal cutlets you could have soled your work boots with, (totally un-edible could not even be cut with a knife). I had never seen so much food being left on plates, complaints regarding the standard of food was common place all round the restaurant. We were informed, but did not witness that there was an altercation between cruisers and kitchen staff, and apparently eight people were put of the ship in Madeira, if that was the case none was the chef as the food did not improve. Also it normally took two hours to serve three courses, it was not the fault of the staff, but the lack of staff, instead of two waiters and a runner there was only two waiters who were run off their feet. On the third week we decided to try the Lido for evening meal, it was basically the same menu but help yourself, we could not believe we were on the same ship, the standard of food was excellent and cooked to perfection, the only problem was finding a seat as so many cruisers had given up on the Meridian Restaurant for the Lido, The only night the Meridian Restaurant was OK was Captains Night, maybe it was we were only a few tables from the Captain. The second let down was disembarkation it was a total shambles, the first batch of passengers for embarkation was 08.00 the second batch was scheduled for 08.15. The first batch of passengers were still queuing in the stairways at 08.15, add the second batch and we had pandemonium, the lifts were unusable due to total passenger impasse on disembarkation deck, we were stuck on the stairwell for over an hour, it was so bad the elderly and infirm had to sit on the stairs. Unfortunately we have booked a stay and cruise on Marella Celebration for October 2019, will review again when we return, hopefully things will be back to the normally good standard of service we have received from Marella (Thomson). From check in at Gatwick to disembarking - all superbly organised. We had an inside cabin which was in fact bigger than the one we had on the QM2! Yes there is a bit of a rumble when the engines are going but it actually rocked us to sleep! Deck 2 midships was a good location as not right over the engines. Captain was awesome - so approachable and freely gave his knowledge of the ship and our destinations. Staff very positive. Food average. Seemed to be a budget per course?? We booked this cruise based on our experience on Marella Discovery which we really liked, and although we were aware that this was an older and smaller ship, thought that services and food would be of similar standards, how wrong we were. There was evidence of penny pinching(or nickel and diming)as our American friends would say, as soon as we entered our cabin, which I must say was quite spacious (outside and upgraded) there was no hand soap only a soap dispenser, no face tissues and the usually free safe was chargeable, in my opinion the company did not operate a "duty of care" in respect of security as the door key was clearly labelled with the cabin number to which it related. We had purchased a cruise with an "all inclusive" basis-drinks and gratuities but found the choice very limited, the wine available was a house red, white or Rose with the former being particularly dry and vinegary, if you preferred a bourbon whisky the only option was Canadian Club, Jim Beam or Jack Daniels was not included. We did not enjoy much of the food on board, breakfast was the usual fayre, there was good variety but the quality was poor, lunch and dinner again offered a wide choice of vegetables but some strange combinations of dishes and it is not everyone's preference to have the vegetables al dente, we were surprised no salad cream on an English ship!. Service from the waiters, assistant waiters, and head waiters was excellent- polite courteous and helpful. I would like to single out Gamal one of the head waiters who was most diligent in accommodating requests and always delivered what you requested. Entertainment options were quite limited with a main show lounge, a cabaret type lounge and a piano bar, the production shows were average, the band who played a blues/rock type of music in the cabaret lounge were very loud and on one occasion so loud I found it painful, they also played on deck reggae type music which I found quite pleasant. We have visited most of the ports before and have our favourites this was our first visit to St Barths and found it very pleasant but relatively expensive. We took only two excursions one in Antigua - Sun and rum which was not as good as the previous one with Marella at this resort-very poor facilities! and the Rhum Runner which is our favourite party trip, happy-great atmosphere and good music and dancing. I am aware that this review may be seen as a litany of complaints, however it reflects our perception of this cruise, the point that I am attempting to make is that given the cost of this cruise which was very similar to others with similar itineries and inclusive arrangements but offers significantly less in terms of food quality, entertainment and facilities. We did speak to a few other passengers who did like what was on offer which illustrates the point that you can't please all the people all the time. Read Less

We have just returned home from a 14 day cruise "A Taste of Paradise" in the Caribbean and we have to give credit when it is deserved. We have been cruising with various companies for over 18 years and I must say this is one of the best cruises we have been on. From the moment we left Manchester Airport the staff from TUI/Marella made us most welcome. We where made most welcome from Cabin Steward through to dining room staff, waiters and reception staff. Entertainment well organised by Gavin, Cruise Director and his excellent support team. The service on board was top notch, food of a high standard, especially the speciality dining in the Meridian, Kora La, Hot Stone and Minstral Restaurants. Well done to Ships Company. A few names of staff that deserve credit - Meridian and Speciality dining room waiters, April Rose, Roy, Jasarmy and Kristamel. Excellent choice of ports on the cruise itinerary, our favourite was St Kitts. Read Less

I think the Marella Celebration should be renamed the Marella VIBRATION!!! Its 37 years old and should be decommissioned . Stayed one week on the Cruise ship on deck 1 at the back of the Ship and am convinced the Engine room was all around us and on average got 3 hours sleep per night , we did complain and tried changing rooms but was told the ship was at full capacity so had no spare rooms , even in the lido restaurant you could see a few of the Tables vibrate. Besides the vibration everything else was good, the food and especially the staff whether they were the Cleaners or bar staff were brilliant. The entertainment eventhough not professional singers was good and certainly hard working. Only booked one excursion through TUi before we left but sadly that got cancelled so quite a frustrating week. We wanted to go home shortly after boarding the ship. The only good thing I can take from this cruise is that the majority of the staff are very helpful and pleasant as one has come to expect from Thomson/Marella cruises. Although in the minority, there were enough loud, drunk and foul mouthed party goers to ruin anyone's cruise. They made one hell of a noise in the early hours of the morning in the corridors. Drunk couples fighting and swearing at each other, loud drunks up at the bars, Broadway show lounge and out on the decks. Compared to other cruises there were just too many incidents for this to be a one off. It appears that this itinerary and low cost cruise has the ability to attract the above mentioned people unlike other cruises I have been on. The walls separating the cabins are paper thin. We were inside cabin so got constant noise (snoring, coughing, couples having sex, flatulence, opening and closing of drawers etc) coming through the walls on all four sides including the corridor. The cabin doors have a gap and let in all the noise and light from the corridors. The onboard entertainment was in my opinion well below average and musicians repeated the same songs night after night. The food in Lido's and the Meridian was below average and the vegetables always overcooked. The wok in Lido's was terrible and the person operating that should take a few lessons from the guy who does it on the Dream. The lobster down in the Meridian on the first Captains night was tough and overcooked. In the Meridian the catch of the day was so soggy and tasteless and the same applies to the bacon and hashbrowns in Lido's. Having said this, one could be selective at the buffet in Lido's and come away with a few appetising portions of food. This was the first cruise I have ever done where I came home lighter than when I left. In summary, on days at sea there are some loud drunk people at places on the decks so one has to be selective where one goes. On days when the ship docks, which is most days, one stands in the breakfast queue with others who cough all over you and also the food in the vicinity, then one eats a below average breakfast then goes out for the day. When one returns then one goes to the cabin to wash up along with all your neighbours and you get a chance to hear them using the toilet, showering, having sex, burping, flatulence, listening to music etc. Then one heads out for an overcooked meal but is selective and walks away with a few appetising items on the plate as if one is on diet. After this one heads to Broadway show lounge, only to walk out halfway during a lacklustre performance or because some really drunk person is spilling their drink on you or others in the vicinity, yet continues to be served alcohol. So then, not wanting to go down too early one heads to one of the bars to hear the same musician/s singing the same songs they sang the night before. Then one cannot help but notice the loud drunk people and the continuous flow of well behaved people sitting down in the vicinity of the loud drunks then getting up and leaving without even finishing their drinks. After a beer one decides enough is enough and heads off to the cabin early only to be kept awake most of the night by your snoring, coughing, neighbour and of course the foul and loud mouthed drunks socialising in the corridors outside your cabin when returning to their cabins in the early morning hours. This was my 3rd cruise , I have always cruised on much bigger ships and I have to say that my first impressions were that the ship was very small and a little dated. But this didn't stop me from having a fantastic holiday . Because the ship was smaller the staff seemed more friendly and seem.to remember you and what drinks you wanted . The captain often made am appearance unlike on the bigger ships we never saw him once . I would like to mention that the staff in the Horizon Bar really made our holiday special, it was like having all your friends on board with you the staff that really went an extra mile for us were ,Roger ,Gecyl,Shaym,Ni Made, Eric and Luius, nothing was too.much trouble and they were always smiling , i work with the public and i know only too well how hard it is working with the piblic , they are a credit to your company I only wish that more of my staff were like these. We had an amazing holiday and didn't want to leave I hope one day to cruise again on this ship . Read Less

I travelled with my elderly mother, from the outset I was impressed with the great staff - the cabin crew were unflappable when she collapsed mid flight, gave her oxygen and brought her round. All the crew on the Celebration were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The cabin was attended to twice a day, we found we were directly under the gangplank which turned out to be a bit noisy at times. We found the food at the self service restaurant and the formal restaurant good with a selection of fast food on the sundeck as well. The cruise was not overly expensive and I loved the itinerary of a different destination each day. The talented onboard entertainment also deserves a mention with a repetoire of 11 different shows Yes the ship is older and does vibrate but I actually found this soothing and was lulled to sleep easily. We didnt book any excursions as we took each day as it came but were happy with trips we took directly with the locals. Missing the sunshine already, I would go again in a flash!! Read Less

Cheap last minute cruise, have been Thomson 4 times before The ship is old but spotless. Cabin on level 1 unremitting noise and vibration, awful even with earmuffs. Avoid rear half of the boat and lower levels. Cabin itself fine, if old fashioned. other: excellent - service on ship, smiles, genuine warmth, organisation on plane transfer embarking and disembarking, price, bar price, tip policy. good- food, good variety, usual odd duff meal but restuarant/self service both great, have a go evening singers! poor- cost of trips off boat, silly prices. Entertainment poor during day, no sail away parties here. Some quizzes were in bad taste and evoked gutter language and personal observations, stop it! Music by bands (not to my taste) or recorded music "in the style of", i.e. not original artists. I got the cruise well under £800, a bargain, at one thousand plus the p and o deals are better. the ship was lovely ,the crew were friendly ,couldn't do enough for yuri ,the food was hot and always plenty of it, we stayed in cabin 901 deck one which at first i thought we was in the lowest grade but after talking to people on upper decks e,g deck 5 upwards we probably had the better cabins ,there was not a lot of noise at all ,you could hear the engines but not enough to disturb your sleep ,yuri the cabin attendant was so nice and nothing was to much trouble for him as soon as you left your room he was in there cleaning it up ,felt very looked after ,chocolates left on the pillows every night .the local people were lovely too,if you get off in the port they will offer tpp take you on the excursions at sometimes half the price ,we did a mixture of tui excursions and using the locals. highly recommend the st lucia all day land and sea excursion .entertainment was good for a smaller ship ,everyone who we spoke to who was experienced cruisers also said they much prefer the marella celebration it was a more friendlier ship ,yes some things need modernising but on the whole our cruise was so good we are going to book again for next year , Read Less

This was our first cruise and it certainly won't be our last. After a great flight on the dreamliner we were whisked from Barbados airport to our ship - the Marella Celebration. Everything was extremely well organised and we were in our cabin in no time. We had a balcony cabin on deck 9 - absolutely fantastic. It had everything you would need : toiletries, hairdryer, robes. Bed was very comfortable. The shower worked perfectly. Ronaldo our cabin steward was exceptional. He works very hard to keep everything in order. The restaurants were of really good quality. In the day we used the Lido - something for everyone here. In the evenings we mostly used the Meriden which is waiter service. Absolutely no complaints. It was great. Tried the Kora La once and it was OK. This restaurant has a supplement - probably wouldn't dash back. The bars are all well manned so depending what mood your in you can either dance the night away or watch a show or have a quiet drink. There's an outside bar on deck 6 outside Liberties which was a lovely place to sit and watch sail away. A big thank you to Bektur for keeping our glasses topped up!! The ports we went to were : St. Maarten, British Virgin Islands, St Kitts, Guadeloupe and St Vincent & the Grenadines. We took an excursion with Tui from St. Vincent 'Mustique Magic' wow wow wow - well worth the money. It was fantastic. Wish we'd booked the Death in Paradise excursion whilst in Guadeloupe as this was the only disappointing port. Never mind there's always next time. The weather was amazing. Yes there is vibration on the lower decks but to be honest you do get used to it. I have absolutely no complaints - so much so we're booked on the same cruise next Jan but for 14 days this time - can't give a higher recommendation than that. Read Less

We have cruised many times with Thompson/Marella in fact all their ships (including the Infamous Saphire in 1996)(Tic). Yes she is old and vibrates a bit. But the Food is excellent in all venues the staff are all vey good our cabin steward was 1 of the best we have had. We had a disabled cabin 101 apart from the "Lump" where they have raised the floor in front of the Bathroom. a few of the staff we have met over the years we have cruised with them, and were glad to see their friendly faces. Mainly "Ling the Lerciless" a play on Ming the Merciless The only drawbacks are the Small swimming pool/s and only 1 Extreemly small Jacquzi, and turning them into "all inclusive" seems to be turning them into "Booze Cruises" which IMHO is not the best way forward. The Discoveries both Ex Royal Caribbean Vision class are superb. Read Less
