Dated and everything is extra

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ruby Princess

6 adults all related. Good princess reference. Red that ruby princess built in 2008 was updated on 2016. Not sure what was upgraded but not the staterooms. Everything is old dingy stained and rusted. Food is mediocre. Steak or seafood is extra. Feels like an old Vegas casino. Asked for luggage hold service and was told I needed to wait to dissembark. Found out port of Seattle offers ...

Embarkation and disembarkation were score of 5's! We were able to get on the ship before noon on our embarkation day! Our BEST excursion was in Skagway. We decided to do a Hummer excursion that we booked through Princess. It was AWESOME! We followed Uncle Dean to the Yukon stopping along the way to take pictures and enjoy the scenery. We were able to get a picture at the Welcome to Alaska ...

Always cruised with Norwegian and Royal Cariibean which we loved and adore but due to restrictions on our travel date we had to get Ruby, BIG MISTAKE! Our very first time with Princess and truly regret it. This ship is absolutely horrible in every way! Old and rusty, Under maintenance the whole one week, many pools and Jacuzzies closed for the whole week! Spa was under maintenance, Public ...

We chose Princess for our first cruise because of recommendations from our travel agent and several friends. We we not disappointed! The excursions we chose ahead of time were fun and entertaining. Our favorite was Ketchikan! We would have liked to spend more time there to check out ALL the excursions! Also, Butchart Gardens in Victoria was just lovely and a real treat. We wanted so much more ...

Ports/Alaska were great ... a little disappointed in Princess and the ship.

Skagway (train ride) and Glacier Bay were highlights. Had some problems with Princess and the ship. We were promised a room on an upper deck (14 or 15). They put us on deck 8. My room key wouldn't work on 5 of the 7 days. Kept taking it back to the front desk to fix it once and for all and all they would do is give me another room key (that also failed). Buffet dining was substandard ...

Ship unimpressive

Ship wasn’t as fancy as some we have seen online. Food was average. Buffet was disappointing, as they ran out of items quite often and we had to wait or were sent to the other side. Room was clean. Balcony was nice, except railing is directly at eye level. Staff was excellent, polite and helpful though! Entertainment was pretty good. First cruise ever so we were surprised at the long lines, but ...

We chose this cruise because my husband and I always wanted to visit Alaska. Embarkation was ok, we had to wait for wheelchairs which was not readily available. The ship was average, our cabin was in a good location, we enjoyed seeing the sun set and our deck was a good size. The room service was great. We did not do any activities or fitness and recreation. We saw one show which was ok, not the ...

Seals at Glacier Bay

I really enjoyed my first cruise. A highlight was seeing a family of seals on a small ice floe in front of the glaciers at the end of the bay. I also enjoyed meeting so many nice and interesting people around the table at meal times. The food was really terrific, considering the gargantuan challenge to feed 3200 guests and 1200 crew three meals a day. The cruise director and her staff were ...

Day 1 – Embarkment (Saturday) We were told loading was 1p. Yet when we arrived by about 12p to be early, people were already loading, some seen on their boat patios. Obviously it started earlier and we wish we had known. Once we managed to get thru luggage check and security lines and then keys to our rooms, we headed to check them out and settle in a bit. They we were told there was ...

1st time cruise and must say it was amazing! Flew into Seattle the day before the cruise, checked out the Folk Festival which was a fun experience. Embarkation went smoothly and we were on board without any hassle. The CD staff on the Ruby Princess to Alaska (Kassia, Anna, Cesar, Johnny, Pauly, Shea and especially Wally) were absolutely phenomenal & entertaining!! I haven't laughed that hard in ...
