Cheap and somewhat cheery

This was not our first cruise with Princess, nor the first time we have sailed onboard the Ruby Princess, in fact, we are "Platinum" status with Princess. Yet it never seems to surprise us how different each ship (and sailing) is. Specifically, when it comes to service level, it's surprising to see how much of a variation there is between ships, to the point where there appears to be no real ...

Amazing First Cruise Experience

What an amazing experience we had! Embarkation – We drove to San Pedro from Phoenix. Started out around 0330, a couple of gas and restroom stops along the way. We did not have a hard time finding parking at all. We parked right across the terminal building. We got there around 0930, sat inside the terminal and waited until about 1030, when they started processing passengers. The staff ...

Cruising with Ruby

Enjoyed the warm weather. The Ruby is our favorite ship. Staff is friendly and professional. Relaxing in Skywalker with a book, sipping wine in The Vines or drinks in Cooners... so enjoyable. There is always a game of Trivia in one of the clubs... testing the memory and brain... lots of laugh. One can always be entertained with people watching or the activities the crew has on the fifth deck. ...

The ship was beautiful, meticulous throughout. Our room steward kept our room neat and clean daily. The room was nice, tons of storage and the balcony withbeautiful views. Disappointed that on sea days the activities were lame, very little to do especially on the last sea day back to LA where the weather was too cool for most to sit on deck. The live music on deck was sparse, they played for about ...

Excellent costumer service, great entertainment, friendly personnel, nice facilities and a lot of more good things to say... I had a lot of fun at the onboard activities, every day I enjoyed the performance of the mariachi band “Los 3 Brillantes” & the Walker Black Duo at night, and they were amazing. “Los 3 Brillantes” played many of puertorrican popular songs; they made me feel at home. Every ...

Background We are Darren and Cindy in our late 40’s and early 50’s from Great Falls, Montana. We have been on 8 cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, and a California Pacific Coastal. We began looking for cruises in the late fall of 2018 for January 2019. Montana can be very cold and dark in the winter months and late January was an ideal week for us to travel in 2019. We were pretty set on ...

Seasoned cruisers with family wanted to try a new cruise line. The ship was fine- cabin a little small but nice balcony. Super great cabin attendant Robalito. Just a terrific helpful guy. Cabin was very clean and he made sure were happy with his services. The ship is nice and there was always deck chairs which was super. The deck guys actually removed towels that appeared to be saving ...

The ship and the itinerary were just what my wife and I wanted. We arrived a day early so we could poke around the shops/restaurants in Long Beach. Transfer to the ship was very easy. Our cabin was midship in case of stormy weather. We had a balcony and we spent quite a bit of time there watching the sea. Princess has equipped the rooms with new beds which slept very well. The ship has just ...

First and Last time on Princess

We choose this cruise due to an excellent rate. We have been down the Mexican coast many times and wanted a little get away. We booked a Ocean View cabin, but were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to a balcony. The food was not good at all. I compared it to something like cafeteria food or hospital food. Very bland and repetitious. The horizon buffet area was horribly crowed all the ...

We were looking for a honeymoon cruise that we could drive to and still have warm weather. Since we live in Southern California, the Mexican Riviera fit the bill. Boarding was a breeze. We parked across the street from the ship and were on board in no time. Check -in was efficient and stress-free. The Ruby was recently updated and it showed. The ship was immaculate and looked very modern ...
