AJ’s Sloth and Monkey sanctuary. We booked this on our own in advance. Shore excursions to these places were longer and more costly. We got transportation and the animal experience for $35 pp. Lots of fun and guide was great.

Exceptional Service

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Jade

First Time Cruiser • Age 40s

The Jade was an exceptional cruise with a nice ship and crew. The boat itself could use an update in the next few years but everything was very clean and there were no signs of wear. The cabin was an ocean-view with a porthole (nothing special) but it was well cleaned and perfect for sleeping and showering. Dining was exceptional - we enjoyed the Brazilian Steakhouse, the Hibachi, and Cagney's ...

Fun and entertaining with a few drawbacks

This was our first NCL cruise and we didn't choose it; we "crashed" my sister's vacation (she and her husband are awesome to travel with!). We didn't travel with children and we stayed in separate cabins. My sister in an ocean-view wheelchair accessible cabin on deck 8 and we were in a forward penthouse cabin on deck 9 (which I can't recommend; see below) Port: We sailed from Tampa and the ...

My wife and I have taken numerous cruises but this was our first on Norwegian. We heard a lot of good, but had to find out for ourselves. The Jade is a clean, smaller ship and we liked it a lot. We have tried the new mega super ships and we think they are just that, too big. We want the smaller, more personable ships and found it in the Jade. The Captain did say in March of 2017 it will ...

Enjoyed the fantastic Haven suite 14012. Our butler, Walter was amazing! So helpful and professional. It was wonderful to come back to the room and see his smiling face; as if you were coming home. Benjamin, our cabin attendant was also very friendly. Our suite was constantly being tidied...like magic! Used the spa and the Haven courtyard a lot. It's so quiet. Very relaxing. Good Cruise but not enough time at Harvest Caye

We really like NCL and the overall feel and atmosphere. Good food, decent production shows and friendly staff. The ship was very clean, and even the public restrooms were kept very clean and fully functional. Food was good and very few complaints about quality. Food quantity for evening meals was "more than enough" in portion size. Ultimate beverage package is a definite plus and eliminates the ...

Perfect Cruise on the Jade

My wife and I just returned from probably the best cruise I have taken out of 24 total. There were many reasons and I will address all of them. First, It amazes me all the passengers who have to complain about everything or something. The crew is totally professional but at the same time not obnoxious or instrusive. I went on one Carnival Cruise in my life and felt like suing them for crew ...

Just an OK cruise

We chose to cruise on the Norwegian Jade out of Tampa as we have friends in that area who were traveling with us. Embarkation and disembarkation went fine. The ship was somewhat out of date but was not an issue for us. Our cabin was excellent as we upgraded to a "family stateroom". My husband is limited in mobility so the extra room was wonderful as we spent much time in our stateroom. Our ...

Winter cruise to the tropics

Have had consistently good experiences with Norwegian and loved this unusual itinerary. There were four ladies in our balcony cabin and it worked okay with two single beds, one pull-out couch, and a bunk that dropped down from the ceiling (operated only by the steward). Didn't hurt that 2 of us were able to shower at the spa. Cozy but workable. Was disappointed that the shore excursion staff ...

This was my third time on the Jade and it has become a bit outdated on decor and layout. The layout I will admit is one of the most awkward of any ship in their fleet. Le Bistro is tucked away and can be easily missed just walking by it. Moderno was added by cutting the former O'Sheehan,s in half and renaming one half Moderno and the other half blue lagoon. While dining in Moderno you literally ...

Not the best cruise

We have cruised Norwegian many times, but it will be a long time before we take Norwegian. The Jade is a little dated and I understand it is supposed to go in for a make over. We had a mini-suite on Deck 11. It was spacious and we had a decent size bathroom. The entertainment was good. I had read reviews before we left on our trip. A lot of folks thought the crew was not friendly. I found ...
