Overall this was a good cruise. We have traveled RC several times and some things on this boat just missed the mark. Not terrible, but not what we have experienced on other RC cruises.
Cabin- we had an inside cabin since it was just a weekend. It was small but clean and comfortable.
Dining - unfortunately this was not good at all. From the main dining room service and food to the windjammer ...
Just traveled the third time on the same ship.We traveled in April on The Independence ,with a Junior Suite,,I understand in April the ship was probably 60% full, and it was great..Great service,,cabin was good and had a good time.We went back on the same ship in late August, rented a Grand Suite..also was very good,,great srvice and the cabin was very nice. The suite lounge was a nice perk also..So ...
First off let me say, the ship is beautiful and there are lots of fun things to do. With that being said, we are usually carnival cruisers and decided to try a more "Classy" cruise line, or so we were told. From the moment we arrived at port we were completely thrown off by the dismissive behavior of the bag valets. The next faces we encountered were people yelling telling us we needed to walk ...
We took our children and grandchildren so they could enjoy the amenities of the ship and private island. Instead they spent most of their time in the pool which they did enjoy but the water slides, etc were so crowded they really didn't get a chance to enjoy them. And the prices at the private island were so expensive that the young families didn't think it was worth it. There were two ships in ...
My family just returned from our first RC cruise. A little about us - we are a family of 2 adults and 4 kids (plus another college student kid who couldn’t join us). The children are 3,5,14, and 16. We chose this cruise because it worked with our fall break and sports schedules.
We don’t go to many shows or bars on cruises. My husband and I prefer to hang out on the balcony and read. My teens ...
Needed to get away for a few days. This seemed like a good choice as the port was only 2 1/2 away and it was a short 4 night break. In all fairness to RCL I knew it was a “family oriented cruise line” but I foolishly believed that children would be in school this early in the school year. Boy was I wrong! I would estimate that there were at 500-700 screaming, crying, running, jumping, coughing ...
Our cruise was lovely. We have been on Independence of the Seas before. We are quite fond of this ship.
Our stops were the usual suspects...Coco Cay and Nassau. Good stops for a weekend cruise.
Food was great in Dining room and Windjammer.
Entertainment was good.
Cabin steward was amazing.
Key was worth every penny . We enjoyed our Key Lunch.
All in all the cruise was restful ...
I booked this cruise to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. We were a party of eight in two rooms on the 12th floor. The rooms were tight, but we only needed it to sleep. The rest of the ship was lovely. Michael in housekeeping and our wait staff were all wonderful. I received a bit of an attitude from individuals in the Spa and Bar (not sure which one since I don't drink, I was simply asking ...
I took my 6 and 9 year-olds on this trip while my dear wife stayed behind with our 6-week old. It was a great "dad trip" before school started. We did not even get off the ship in Nassau (as planned). I expected everyone to have the same idea in Nassau and stay on the ship, but no. The pool deck had plenty of space, the pools were nearly empty, and it was even easy to score a hot tub entirely to ...
My husband and I decided to take a cruise as a belated 25th wedding anniversary to ourselves. This meant no kids, dogs, no cooking or laundry. Just doing whatever we wanted with no time constraints or schedules. We took all the necessary pre-covid testing (2 days prior to sail date) and we were off. We were looking forward to the glorious dining choices that we cruisers have become accustomed ...
