This is our yearly cruise we take in December. This time we picked Independence of the Seas. We booked it really early and got a great price on a inside prom. stateroom. We used Luxury park & cruise about 1/2 mile from port. Very reasonable priced and had nice service to and from the port. Check in went really smooth. I was surprise that we got to port at 1:00 pm and was on the ship by 1:30. ...
The Good:
We have sailed with Royal Caribbean five times. This was the most enjoyable one thanks to the cruise director and the beauty of the ship. We are seniors but we felt like a young couple due to the ambiance, atmosphere and for so many fun things to do. Since we live in Florida we drove to the port the same day. We parked at the port parking garage which charges $15 per day.

Overall it was a average cruise. Cruise staff was friendly and help full. Cruise director was funny and friendly. Ship is in good shape but has signs of wear. Strange odor some days at the Windjammer. MDR food was hit or miss more miss thought. If you went to the Royal Promenade for coffee you heard jack hammers and saws because they were installing a new office for future cruises what a mess. ...
We are loyal Diamond members but felt like the crew was just phoning it in and going through the motions.
The food was plentiful but not that tasty. The service in the dining room was fairly efficient but lacked the extra touches with presentation and service. Head waiter was outright rude. Rarely saw the assistant waiter. Johnny Rockets had horrible service with worst food. Windjammer was ...
Very disappointed with the cruise during this holiday station. My husband and I were suggested all inclusive beverage packages, $22 per person with $67 for special package inclusive of alcohol which we agreed on, under premises that this would be for the duration of cruise, there was no mention of these charges to be applied daily until we received a letter in our room with over $400 worth of ...
First let me say I am a huge fan of RCCL and have sailed with them numerous times and, in fact, will be sailing with them on Christmas. Also, I had reasonable expectations for a holiday weekend cruise - i.e. busy, lots of kids, large families, etc. And finally, I really like the IOS having sailed on her before .
I am Diamond and boarding was easy and fast but the ship was sold out and there ...
Our short cruise to Cozumel was a family affair, with 25 of us from age 3 to 68 aboard. Embarkation was pretty smooth for a fully booked 150,000 ton ship. The service was very cordial and efficient with quick cabin cleanings twice a day.
The food was unspectacular, which is getting to be the norm nowdays on the mega lines. The only dinner options besides the dining room and Windjammer Cafe ...
Teens Club:
First of all, this was the best cruise I have ever been on. I was 14 at the time of this cruise and was traveling with my 16 year old sister, mom, and dad. I would recommend going to the ship/port as soon as possible, which can sometimes mean before the time you are given. Once on the ship, we went and explored each level, and we got the schedules for the teens club. If you are in ...
While the ship was very clean and updated, it lacked the over level of service we have come to expect from RC. MDR staff was very attentive and professional, however that was about it. Room attendant did a good job cleaning the room but totally lacked the professional service that should come with a suite level room. She was borderline rude.
MDR food was great, must try the prime rib and ...
We just returned from a 5 day cruise to the Western Caribbean and was very.disappointed. We were 2 adults and our kids, 25 yr old twins and a 23 yr old so we got a balcony and an inside cabinsvThe cruise was very crowded and clearly RCCL was not prepared for the crowd. It was difficult to get a drink from most outside pool bars. The Windjammer food bordered on inedible and the staff was never ...
