We had a nice time on this cruise. The weather was perfect. The ports were small and doable in the 6 short hours allotted. Because schools had started, the cruisers were mostly quiet older people.

I am not one for negative reviews, having been taught that if you cannot say something nice don't say anything. I will therefore start with the positives:-
Boarding - smooth and simple, our cabin was ready at 1300.
Cabin - always kept immaculately clean and the stateroom attendant was friendly and acted quickly on the only request we made.

This was our second cruise with RC, the 1st being on Navigator of the Seas out of Galveston, so I can only compare between the two. Embarkation was fast and easy. Had a great time on a wonderful ship. Dining was great as always and the Diamond Lounge staff were fantastic. We chose this cruise because we wanted to tour Spain.
We embarked from Southampton after touring London.
After we left the English Channel,the trip was uncomfortable to say the least- the ship rocking from side to side. In our opinion, the ship was too small to make the crossing across the Bay of Biscayne; even in six foot waves and without stormy conditions.

RCL is reducing quality of the food they serve. Roasted mushrooms for breakfast from a can? RCL it is time to rethink your priorities.
The bright spot was that the cabin was kept clean. Staff was professional and pleasant.
Menus in general were disconnected and need to be rethought.

We looked forward to cruising with royal caribbean as usually we cruise with another company- but were very dissappointed with the cabin, not much room to even pass each other.the beds were so small -narrow and uncomfortable and the mattresses were covered with pieces of cheap foam, i-suffered from pain in my hip ever since. This was our first time on IOS - previously we have done P&O and Celebrity. The ship was lovely and I liked the promenade part with the cafes and bars and the entertainment was excellent – best I have had on a cruise. Even the days at sea were not boring.
