Dining at sunset on formal night. We dressed but many folks did not. We wished we didn't also (less clothes to pack!)

Nice Sunny Cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Independence of the Seas

We had a nice time on this cruise. The weather was perfect. The ports were small and doable in the 6 short hours allotted. Because schools had started, the cruisers were mostly quiet older people. We spent no extra money on food. The dining available in the complimentary dining room and the buffet was more than adequate. Mostly we ate at our white tableclothed 6pm seating, a lovely table by ...

I am not one for negative reviews, having been taught that if you cannot say something nice don't say anything. I will therefore start with the positives:- Boarding - smooth and simple, our cabin was ready at 1300. Cabin - always kept immaculately clean and the stateroom attendant was friendly and acted quickly on the only request we made. Food - Windjammer - plenty of variety of food ...

A dull cruise waiting for god

This was our second cruise with RC, the 1st being on Navigator of the Seas out of Galveston, so I can only compare between the two. OMG what a difference, Day 1 at sea (yes it was chilly and windy and not the Caribbean) but it looked like someone had died, the only happy person was an American in the smoking area. Pool activities (bellyflop, volleyball) were only on Day 8, there was a poolside ...

Embarkation was fast and easy. Had a great time on a wonderful ship. Dining was great as always and the Diamond Lounge staff were fantastic. Ports were beautiful. we only did 4 shore excursions, Santiago de Compostela, Fatima, sailed the Santa Maria and Windsor Castle. Ice shows were great, and the few entertainment shows we went to were also great. We spent a lot of time in the gym and it was ...

We have cruised RC several times. Little things make the difference and this time the little things were missing. My Time dining was fantastic, especially the service. (table 241).The stateroom attendant was equally professional. However, the price of beer and wine was outrageous-8.00/ beer and 13.00 for a wine. I really resent the 18% charge on the booze, especially when your already charged ...

Choose another ship and itinerary if you wish to tour Spain !

We chose this cruise because we wanted to tour Spain. We embarked from Southampton after touring London. After we left the English Channel, the trip was uncomfortable to say the least- the ship rocking from side to side. In our opinion, the ship was too small to make the crossing across the Bay of Biscayne; even in six foot waves and without stormy conditions. Our previous cruise aboard ...

I think any holiday is what you put into it. We have been on IOS about five times and therefore love the ship. We cruised this time for our Silver Wedding Anniversary and we had a lovely time. We had the drinks package, it was free as part of the deal when we booked 18 months before but talking to other people it does work out as value for money, so long as you have more than five drinks a day, ...

RCl is cheapening up on food quality - prices rising and value decreasing

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Independence of the Seas

RCL is reducing quality of the food they serve. Roasted mushrooms for breakfast from a can? RCL it is time to rethink your priorities. The bright spot was that the cabin was kept clean. Staff was professional and pleasant. Menus in general were disconnected and need to be rethought. Food quality and variety need to be considered. Why can you pay for a great burger at Johnny ...

We looked forward to cruising with royal caribbean as usually we cruise with another company- but were very dissappointed with the cabin, not much room to even pass each other.the beds were so small -narrow and uncomfortable and the mattresses were covered with pieces of cheap foam, i-suffered from pain in my hip ever since. IT IS ONLY IMPROVING NOW BECAUSE I PAID TO SEE A PHYSIO, I FEEL THERE ...

Lovely cruise but definitely not 'fine dining'

This was our first time on IOS - previously we have done P&O and Celebrity. The ship was lovely and I liked the promenade part with the cafes and bars and the entertainment was excellent – best I have had on a cruise. Even the days at sea were not boring. One thing that let it down was dinning in the main restaurant. The service was OK – our waiters were OK - but it just didn’t have the ...
