This was a cruise we wanted to go on as the itinerary was mostly what we wanted.
We had an offer via Planet cruise which we booked last year.
We had a balcony stateroom on deck 10 just forward of midship in Concierge class which is the same size stateroom just a few extras.
Check in was reasonable along with our luggage delivery which was supposed to be priority being Concierge . But from ...
this was a cruise for our 60th birthdays and we decided to splash out and have a balcony and drinks package. it was our 11th cruise but our first with celebrity. lots of good points and several disappointing ones. plusses first -well the food was excellent [ loved the oceanview buffet restaurant and café bagio had the most excellent cake and coffees] and the cabin was great [ the bed was so ...
This was our 6th cruise on Eclipse out of Southampton and, unless they add some different itineraries, it might well be our last for a few years. This will be a big disappointment to us since Eclipse is still our favourite ship, and cruises from Southampton are essential for us as my wife uses a wheelchair.
We had done almost the same itinerary 3 years ago, but this time Helsinki was missing ...
Eclipse is beautiful ship and all the staff, without exception in our experience, are so welcoming and helpful. I really don't know how they keep their jovial spirit all day long for months on end.
Our cabin was Aquaclass and whilst the cabin is fine there was occasionally some noise from the sound of heels as a few people walked through the solarium deck area late evening. But it was not a ...
Eclipse Baltic cruise June July 2016
Have just returned from our first sailing on the Eclipse, Southampton round trip,
to the Baltics, highlight St Petersburg.
Context: We are mid 60s, have done several Azamara cruises, 2 Oceania cruises and one on Celebrity Millenium.
I love Azamara and have sailed on both ships so I was expecting a very different experience. I LOVED this ship. The ...
We chose this cruise for the baltics & ports of call.
Having cruised with many lines this was our 1st with celebrity & thought the good reviews would see us in good hands.
We stayed in a per night hotel (holiday inn city terminal) with parking & an excellent start began.
We had been informed that the celebrity eclipse was to be put in deep clean on sail day due to novivirus so check was ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary and as an opportunity to sample what Celebrity had to offer.
We joined Celebrity Eclipse immediately after they had an instance of Norovirus so our Embarkation was delayed due to a Deep Clean. All passengers were allocated a time to board by deck however this was extremely slow and probably the longest embarkation we have experienced. Once on board we ...
We chose to go to Southampton the day before our departure & were blessed with hot sunny weather. We stayed at the Mercure Hotel on High St which is an old building & quirky but we enjoyed it. We shopped, as one does, in the Mall & dined at La Lupo in the evening. All a great start to the holiday, however the ship had had a gastro intestine virus (I guess they meant Norovirus) which caused ...
Cruise chosen for the 3 day stop in St Petersburg and the drinks package included.
Everything was as advertised on this well maintained and well staffed ship. Set dining service was immaculate; once the waiters knew your preferences then the drinks were chosen and available immediately. Local entertainment for port night stops was welcome and good quality. Our only areas of concern ...
My main reason for choosing this cruise was the destination. I travelled with my sister & brother-in-law & we all wanted to visit St Petersburg. The fact that this cruise visited the city for 3 days & was on the Eclipse was a bonus. This is a lovely ship which I had sailed on before. The crew are friendly & professional. We were disappointed to find out that Celebrity had stopped doing formal ...
