Recently returned from 14 night Southern Caribbean cruise. This was only our 3rd cruise , and first with Celebrity. My wife arranged wheelchair assist prior to travelling with both Celebrity and BA. Using own wheelchair all went well until we met with Celebrity reps at Miami airport. Wheelchair assist staff just dumped us whilst waiting for bus for transport to overnight hotel. Recognising I needed help with wheelchair and suitcases rep said would get help. On arrival of coach no help given, left to fend for ourselves and only with help of fellow passenger did we get to coach, Not wanting same issues getting to cruise terminal from hotel we paid for taxi costing $50. Once checked in and boarded everything went well with using wheelchair onboard and whilst disembarking ship. The cruise was faultless. Ship so clean and in good condition, stateroom attendant Jafar keep room spotless. Food in Oceanview restaurant was real good, English breakfast, always good selection of food and hot. Loved the sweet/ pudding selection. All staff polite and helpful. We dinned every evening in Moonlight Sonata restaurant, loved the food but when ordering steak/ beef, if asking for Medium it will be served rare. Thanks to Saaara and waiting staff Dimitar, Budiman and Armando for great service and advise. Had Classic drinks package, vey happy with quality and quantity of drinks. Entertainment in Theatre sometimes a bit hit and miss but overall really enjoyable. Did not prebook any shore excursions, always plenty of choice when disembarking at each island. Overall had a wonderful cruise can highly recommend. Read Less

I personally really like Celebrity. The Eclipse is about the same as the other Solstice class ships. This cruise was our 6th on Celebrity and 5th in Aqua Class. Most things are positive: crew members were polite and friendly, most bar tenders were fun to talk with, service in Blu was excellent, cabin steward was tremendous and couldn't do anything ore to make our cruise as perfect as she did. My only negative comments deal with other items which obviously are ways to cut costs. Aqua Class used to get a bottle of champagne in the room upon embarkation - now it is sparkling wine (cheap). In Blue we used to get a starter, then salad followed by the entrée and dessert - now only starter and no salad. Finally, I upgrade to the premium drink package specifically to have the more expensive beers. The "premium" beer selection at the Passport Bar was quite limited and very disappointing. I hope these cheapening tactics do not continue onto our next already-booked cruise. Read Less

Best captain ever. Love captain Leo! The food was pretty terrible most nights in the main dining room. We had been on the equinox a few weeks earlier. Same menu and the food was delicious. The buffet is a buffet. Food was good for breakfast and when in port, Your only choice for lunch. I just wish they would have kept bell peppers out of 90% of the food. You can tell that cost cutting is going on. For example, the Martini bar glasses have shrunk to half their original size. Towels in the bathroom were hit or miss and bathroom amenities have decreased somewhat. They ran out of some beverage options a few days before the cruise ended. The shows, however were wonderful. Keep the live music please!! The guest entertainers were outstanding. We had seen most of the shows on previous cruises, but enjoyed every encore performance. Can’t say enough about the quality of the entertainment. All in all a good cruise. Read Less

This was our 2nd sailing on the Eclipse, a beautiful ship. We had an aft sky suite which is spacious. One negative is that it was on the 10th level and 3 times during our cruise there were workmen working on the equipment just outside our balcony. They had to come through our suite to get to the exterior window washing equipment. The staff is gracious and friendly....always a smile. All departments, most all of the time! Our room was kept clean. I will say that the fabric upholstery is beginning to show its age. The bathroom has great storage and a wonderful shower in the tub. The cabin is bright with a sliding door and a large round window on the port side. Storage is adequate but I could have used a few more drawers. There was a large vanity area which was nice. There is a safe and shelf storage in the main closet with many hangers. WE had room service a few times. You now order this via the TV. It was served at the appointed times and we ate a few times on the balcony. One reason we chose a suite was the Luminae Restaurant. This is a most beautiful spot with excellent service. The food is very good and if you do not like what is offered you may also order from the main dining room menu....which we did on a few occasions. The food was good this year but not as grand as I remember from last year. Perhaps some cost cutting. The staff is excellent. We enjoyed a few of the bands that played in the Grand Foyer, some better than others. WE had seen the stage production shows before and again did not think they were very good. Jane Curry did preform and she has a beautiful voice....enjoyed by all. The 60's group was good too. The espresso each morning was a treat. There are shops aboard but really I am surprised they do not offer more quality and assortment. Of course they have high end jewelry. There was a great cosmetics shop that was fun to visit and get a few tips on makeup! So yes we do enjoy Celebrity but see hints here and there of penny pinching. We love sailing and being treated well. This was a 14 day southern Caribbean cruise. However they are doing away with this route....too bad because many of us really enjoy it. Read Less

We love being on the ship for 14 days and there are very few itineraries that go for 14 days! The ports are interesting and there's a good variety of shore excursions though we don't take many since we have visited these islands many times. The Eclipse is a great ship but is beginning to show some wear and tear. The crew is very friendly; the entertainment is quite good; and there are lots of places to kick back and relax! Captain Leo is the best captain we've encountered! His announcements are clear and fun to listen to. He and his officers are always out and about and are very approachable. Eddy Jenkins did a good job as cruise director and was also out and about during the cruise. Bar service is slow if you are not a regular at the bar. And, waiters/bartenders are hard to find on the aft deck by the Ocean View Cafe. Food in the dining room is good but several of the menu items were repeated during the 14 days. Also, the sommeliers in the dining room were not always looking to serve those who only had an occasional drink. The service in the dining room was usually okay but also was disorganized at times. It seems that they could use more staff in the dining room. Read Less

We knew we would want a break from winter, so we chose this cruise. We had done a 12 night Caribbean cruise on the Equinox last January. Thrilled to find this 14 night cruise. The sad news is that, next winter, there will only be two Celebrity 14 night sailings (on the Reflection) next winter. Neither of those dates will work for us. We loved this 14 day length. Unlike back to back 7 day cruises, we had very little repeat in any dining or activities - and of course, no repeats on ports. Embarkation was very delayed due to hours late clearance of the ship on arrival. From what I heard, all ships in port that day were similarly affected. Although the government shutdown was not supposed to affect Customs and Immigration, we heard from several sources that it was very short staffed that day. Perhaps the flu caused short staffing. Who knows. There was about a 2 hour wait to board after check in. The Port facilities are not set up with enough seating for a delay like this, but most everyone seemed in pretty good spirits. We were all happy when the ship was cleared to allow us to board. I can't speak highly enough of the of the crew. Captain Leo was the most engaged Captain we have sailed with (multiple lines, 20 or so cruises). The Cruise Director, Eddy, and the Activities Manager, Giuseppe, set a great tone for the ship experience. We are not big activities or show people, although we attended a few. In this case, however, it was clear to us that the energy and professional style of these and other senior officers made a big difference in the onboard experience. We reserved an inside cabin on this cruise. The plan was lots of sleep and relaxation. Success! We have had inside, outside, balcony, mini-suite, Aqua Class cabins over the years, and each have advantages and disadvantages. Celebrity's Solstice Class inside cabins are wonderful. They have really improved the beds and linens over the decades. My husband purchased a Persian Gardens Pass for the cruise, and enjoyed using it every day. I bought the unlimited internet package. Speed and reliability have improved over time. Some resets needed, but not a real hassle. The internet staff was efficient and skilled. The food quality in the Dining Room and Buffet was outstanding. There were always options we enjoyed. Overall, this was the best ship dining we have experienced (including 4 cruises on Crystal). And some of the individual entrees (Short Ribs, Chateaubriand, Duck Breast) were better than we have had at high end land restaurants. The lunch buffet Indian options, risotto, Guiness pot pie, brownie.....wow, I could go on. Kudos to the Chef in charge and his staff. We did not purchase a drinks package but rather purchased bottles of wine to have with dinner each night. Nice selection. I was happy to see so many Enrichment Activities. Great lectures. And they had watercolor classes! One issue Celebrity needs to improve - there were not enough movies available to show a new one each day of the cruise. This would be so easy for Celebrity to fix. Another fabulous thing about this cruise: Lots of excellent, live music. Great musicians who did a great job. Thank you, Celebrity. Our weather was balmy. Rain on some days. Still a nice escape from winter. This was just a fabulous cruise. We will be back on another Celebrity Cruise before long. Read Less

We wanted to take a cruise with ETA which allows for motorcycle. This was the ship they were using. However, we had taken previous cruise with Celebrity Eclipse and had a wonderful time. Will definitely go again. Service, food, entertainment and the people were all friendly and appeared happy with their jobs. The various venues on the ship provided variety throughout the days and nights. Cabin has plenty of storage. The shower was larger than other cruise ships we have traveled. Plenty of hot water. Getting on and off the ship at the ports was very easy and no long lines. Main dining room service and food was very good with good presentation. The waiters were very attentive and knew exactly what our drink of choice was for dinner. The wine sommenier was amazing. He would remember the wine of choice as well a make perfect recommendations. We will definitely travel with Celebrity again. Eclipse is great ship....it would depend on the ports but it is a wonderful ship. Read Less

We really liked the itinerary...exotic southern Caribbean. Good choice of excursions and it was great to have total of 5 days at sea...2 at start and end and one in the middle. Food in MDR was good ...we had opted for flexible dining...usually were able to get a table for 2 within 15 mins while we sipped our cocktail at the Martini Bar. Waiter Desiderio and assistant Kevin were friendly and helpful and sommelier Dino was also good. We enjoyed 1 night at Qsine..a really fun experience and spent our first evening at the Tuscan Grille which was ok but not as good as Murano..which we visited on an earlier cruise. Did not really enjoy Oceanview Cafe at lunch..usually ate Indian...but breakfast was good..However Celebrity seems to be cutting back on staff...hard to get tables cleared. Overall much too busy and noisy...do we really need loud music on top of the din? The entertainment wasnt great ..it was much better on our Southampton cruise last fall. The ship band was really awful....loud cacophonous music...and microphone level near the pool was DEAFENING! Most people on this 14 day cruise were retirees and i heard a lot of complaints about the loud music. I did speak to a couple of staff but nothing was done ...and i understand several others also complained. Most retiree cruisers want to read..not be bombarded with a wall of wailing noise. Our cabin staff Mario and Elsa did a great job ...they were so diligent in making sure everything was sparkling. The enrichment lectures were interesting and informative We really enjoyed the cruise and we are sailing with Celebrity again very soon..However we do have concerns about the apparent cutback in staff...oceanview cafe needs more wait staff and the sommeliers in the MDR were run off their feet. Also the general noise level...the awful choice of loud music...is our biggest concern and if we encounter that same level of noise on the next Eclipse cruise we will think seriously of sticking to Oceania. Finally stop people reserving deckchairs for hours before they show up.... And conside converting Wine Cellar to a bar with craft beers. Read Less

Live music was superb. Orchestra outstanding in quality and played almost every day, often multiple times and in different venues. Most of guest entertainers were excellent. Production shows not to everyone's taste in music but cast of singers and dancers one of the best I've ever seen on a cruise ship. Visibility and involvement of officers outstanding (Captain Leo, Hotel Director Andrea, Cruise Director Eddy, Activities Director Giuseppe). Food excellent, especially specialty restaurants. Qsine had the friendliest service and great variety. Murano very sophisticated, service more restrained but superb food and presentation. Food in Tuscan Grill good, but a bit below the other two. Extra time in Curacao a big plus. We love the ABC islands. Cabin smallish but adequate, but could use more drawer space. Cabin attendants superb; immaculate cleaning twice daily. Bar service and choices in Elite lounge: more limited hours and beverage choices than the comparable Diamond Lounge on RCCL. Loyalty host Dave Perrien extremely friendly and available. Other nice loyalty perks such as high tea, wine tasting and free bag of laundry. Ship in excellent condition although no "wow" features. I'd definitely go again. Read Less
