Azamara Journey
Thursday September 10
Up at 03.30 am and left the house at just gone 04.30 am, and there was a surprising amount of traffic particularly lorries on the M6, but we still got to Manchester airport by 05.05 am. The drop off point has now changed and we had to walk along the concourse inside the terminal into the lift, downstairs, walk out of the building and back in to the Jet 2 ...
When our son announced he was getting married in Spain two years ago, we knew we wanted to add something from our "bucket list" to our second trip to Spain. We decided to add a "luxury" cruise to tick off Greece and Turkey from our list. I think I read every single review about the Azamara Journey experience before I booked our cruise. I was nervous when reading that some previous cruisers ...
The purpose of this seven night cruise, our tenth on Azamara, was for some relaxation. It was a port intensive cruise with only one sea day. Only one port was new to us (Patmos). An upsell offer pre cruise allowed us to splurge and enjoy a beautiful large room at the back of the ship.
The passenger mix on this cruise had a good balance between those from the USA, UK and Australia/NZ. ...
This was our first Azamara cruise. Wanted to see if we liked the small ship experience as we tend to favour Celebrity's Solstice class ships. There are pluses and minuses. Loved the fact that you never had to fight for a sunbed and no loud music by the pool. Also thought the nightly entertainment in the show lounge was surprisingly good. I so didn't want to like the cruise director Eric de Gray ...
Our second Azamara cruise, and only our third cruise in total - so not old hands at this yet. We wanted warm weather (our first cruise in October was not blessed with such!), and boy was it it warm... hot actually... but it was July in the eastern Med. And the Journey was a lovely haven to return to after a hot day at port - great air conditioning ensuring comfortable nights.
The ports visited ...
Had a fantastic time with Ernie sailing aboard the Azamara Journey’s Turquoise Coast voyage through islands of Greece and Turkey.
Impeccable service aboard the Journey was a delightful experience. Chatting with several staff members and learning about their back ground and where they are from was a great international feeling. The 700 passenger ship size was a perfect balance for personal ...
We have been on over 15 10-14 day cruises on Celebrity and a few on Prncess- the big and mid size ships and enjoyed them immensely. When we met other cruisers on these cruises they as well as our travel agent raved about Azumara. When we found a back to back itinerary we liked 18 months ago we booked the Azamara cruises. Due to the number of cruises on Celebrity we were at a high tier in the ...
Our first Azamara cruise was very good, but because we have been on Seabourn and Regent cruises we knew that we were definitely not on a five star ship. Here are the major shortcomings: Food in all the buffets was not great. To get truly great dinners you have to pay extra for the specialty restaurants. Dinners in the main dining room were pretty good but we got a lot more great stuff on the ...
As first time cruisers we had no idea what to expect or how "you cruise". We deliberately chose the Azamara Journey because of its size. We didn't want to be on one of those larger liners and after seeing a couple in ports, we were glad we chose the Azamara. The organization of EVERYTHING was great, the staff were super friendly, the food met our needs and was tasty, the ports we visited were well ...
This was my fifth time on Azamara and it did not disappoint. My only issue is it is becoming more popular and the good deals are running out. The secret of the wonderful life on Azamara is being let out especially by those that travel without ankle biters.
Starting at Venice and cruising out with a wonderful commentary was fantastic. Dubrovnik was a treat and the easy shuttle ride made the site ...
