THE ITINERARY
Our main objective for this trip was to visit Hawaii, and we would like to visit these interesting islands again—there’s more than you can possibly see in 5 days.
EMBARKATION
Embarkation at Vancouver was very smooth and very well co-ordinated.
THE SHIP
Comparisons between the Eurodam to her sister-ship (the Niew Amsterdam) are inevitable. As you might expect, she is ...
We enjoyed everything on this cruise. The food was wonderful. We often ordered full room dinner service in our cabin and also breakfast where you can order omelets. The food was very enjoyable and served hot. The hospitality service would always check up to make sure your room service order was perfect.
The outstanding Holland America difference is the staff. Our room stewards, spa ...
We have been on Holland America ships three times before with no issues. First time for the Eurodam. Overall, the ship was clean, well maintained, and had great service staff. We went to Alaska which was amazing. We were in a balcony cabin which was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. There was no room guide for information or room service. When asked we were sent a small paper copy of the ...
Hawaii was nice but the Eurodam itself was the true destination. The ship is beautiful. The food is great. The specialty restaurants are outstanding. The variety and quality of musical venues on Music Walk is wonderful with something for everyone. The dual piano players with Billboard Onboard was my personal favorite. The crew was exceptional from John Scott the captain who entertained us ...
The casino offered the worst blackjack payout of any casino I've encountered. They pay 7:6 (16%) instead of the usual 3:2 (50%) for a blackjack.
The food is mostly disastrous. The worst of it can be had in the lido buffet. There are long lines for every station (asian, mex, omelette, etc) because HAL insists on serving each passenger individually rather than you serving yourself. The result is ...
Our trip involved me (59 y/o), my early - thirties son, daughter, and daughter-in-law. This trip was intentionally purchased with part of my parent’s inheritance. Wanted to see Alaskan wilderness with my adult kids, so picked the last Alaskan cruise of the year. (I had a fantasy that I might catch the northern lights - didn't happen.) The weather was great - only rained one day.
The sea was ...
I had high hopes, after cruising on the Holland America "Amsterdam" for a 2-week cruise to Alaska on June 19th thru July 3rd this year. THAT cruise was absolutely wonderful!!!
Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Holland America is very consistent. Previously, I was on the 33-Day cruise in March this year, on the ms Maasdam. And, while there were many issues (it is a VERY old ship), I was ...
Cabin 6001...Most all of our cruises are HAL, as we are 3 star mariners. Since last cruising with HAL, the dining room food choices have decreased. The Lido deck is now serving passengers which is a great idea. You can now get your salad in a bowl. Our embarkation and disembarkation was without drama, especially since my husband was in a wheelchair. I really liked using the port valet ...
This was our first Alaska Cruise, and our 2nd cruise altogether. I chose Holland as I have had previous family and friends use Holland and express how good they are. They were not wrong. From the ease of embarkation to boarding the ship and finding our room was 20 minutes tops. We had a balcony room on level 6 and it had plenty of room for storage, clothing and was nice and clean. Our main room ...
We had been to Alaska before and saw this cruise had two different ports of call. We won a "free" cruise playing Bingo so chose this on be since it was easy to get to Seattle and back. We prefer the smaller ships and the Eurodam is a little bigger than our preference but it works. The embarkation and disembarkation went so smoothly. We used the Port Valet for our luggage and that worked ...
