I say average for several reasons. The food was good. Not great but good. The ship is long in the tooth. Our suite had numerous features that did not work. Woodwork was delaminating and looked bad. This was our 10th cruise and 2nd with HAL and we couldn't have been happier. I must begin by saying we had amazing weather all week and did not see any rain which is rare for Alaska this time of year and this also contributed to our overall satisfaction. Originally we were going to take a cruise departing out of Victoria BC, however due to govt regulations (US), we had to switch all the money we had already paid (almost 8k) to a shorter 7day Alaskan cruise. They transferred it all no problem and there were no fees! We got an upgraded stateroom and the have it all package among a few other options.

This is a great cruise out of Seattle. If you fly into Seattle the same day that the cruise departs Seattle, Holland American will transfer your luggage to the ship. If you stay at a hotel the night before the ship leaves Seattle, the same service is provided. Boarding and off boarding the ship was very easy and pleasant.

We live in the Seattle area, so this was an easy cruise to take. This was our first post-pandemic cruise. It was the 3rd time we'd cruised to Alaska. And we had a good time.
