After 31 years, it was time for us to return to Hawaii, so we went by ship. Royal Princess scheduled a 7 day cruise from Vancouver B.C. to Honolulu with a stop in Seattle.
Embarkation at Canada Place was very quick even though we were in the Blue Lane. We picked up our medallions, dropped our bags in our cabin and went to Concerto for lunch. This was the best meal I had in one of the Main ...
Another and possibly our last Princess cruise due to cutbacks ,poor food and very disappointing entertainment onboard.
We have done over 400 days on princess and since the break over Covid we are just completing our 4th long cruise and have felt undervalued and quite frankly ripped off.
We travel in a suite and enjoy the concierge lounge with happy hour every evening with complimentary ...
We chose this cruise so we would have many sea days, but also the itinerary was amazing! We went from Vancouver to Seattle, then Hawaii, French Polynesia, Tahiti, New Zealand and ended in Sydney, Australia. We loved it all! The food on board was great, although we found there could have been a little change from week to week, but all in all it was very good. Even the buffet had good choices! Being ...
Looking forward to seeing couple of new places and revisiting others. Was already on the Crown Princess in Alaska in may and found that the service and food has got so bad. They seem to be leaving the service out and many crew were not trained. We found that they were using the long ride to train staff. While I understand that if we had been told we could have not so hard on the crew we ...
Mediocre PCL experience. As Captain Circle Platinum guests, we received very little recognitions throughout our 7-day cruise. PCL primarily focus seems to be “charge more, give less.” Imposed new charges on services which should be included, such as room service, medallion orders, Alfredo/Gigi’s, etc. Crew seemed tired, overwhelmed, unhappy and rude at times. Managers conduct meetings with staff ...
This was our first cruise since the restart after covid. As platinum cruisers with Princess this was not our first trip by any means and we were interested to compare the before and after.
Royal was bigger than the ships we had cruised previously so we had some expectations of crowding which wasn't really an issue for the most part.
Bar and Atrium entertainers were great but the main ...
The ship's decor, stateroom and cabin attendant was quite reasonable. Entertainment was some good, some bad.
Not reasonable were two things, food and post cruise medical claim service.
FOOD: Admittedly, companion and I ate at standard restaurants to test what we already paid for. With few exceptions, breakfast through dinner, the food was far below mediocre. Dry, off-tasting scrambled ...
People choose a cruise based on the itinerary and based on ship accommodations. In both cases, Princess let us down. We signed up for a 7 day Alaskan cruise which was supposed to have 4 stops. One was in Victoria Canada, the day before we disembarked. We knew it was an evening stop 7-11pm. There were a few excursions worth doing. But two months before our sail date we were told they wouldn't ...
The itinerary was shortened at two ports: Ketchikan and Victoria. Apparently to accommodate other ships. Victoria excursion came so late on the last day that it was virtually useless. Entertainment was below average overall. Music was often too loud in the midship plaza area which made conversation impossible. Food was OK but not as good as Celebrity or Royal Caribbean. Seating in the buffet ...
Decent cruise. Staff was polite, professional, and very helpful.
Ship itself was clean and well maintained.
Sometimes the elevators had a bit of a wait, but nothing horrible.
Long lines/wait for gelato. Food was ok. Not fantastic, but not bad. Hard to get reservations at the desired times - but we were able to tag into other cruise-mates reservations to make it work.
Room service ...
