This was my first cruise, and I have to say that everyone I interacted with (with the occasional exception) was truly FANTASTIC! Cam (the Cruise Director) was phenomenal; the bar staff including Lulu, Hery, Luzviminda, Cherrie, Rosita were INCREDIBLE; our room steward Yudi was truly AWESOME; and the entertainment crew including DJ Alter and Bingo Bella were EXTRAORDINARY! I literally have no complaints about the majority of my cruise. The room was slightly aged, but the service made it worth it. The ship showed some signs off wear, but the crew was always cleaning and repairing it. It shows they care about the presentation, so any minor cosmetic defects were easy to overlook. The dining room service was EXCEPTIONAL, and the Guy's Burger and Blue Iguana Cantina were really good. I will say the dining room evening food lacked a little flavor, but with some salt and pepper it was much better. Our family could not be more grateful to everyone for our experience, and we will be returning on another cruise in the future on CARNIVAL. Read Less

I enjoyed myself sooo much. embarkation & disembarkation went fairly smooth, I had my birth certificate, and although you didn't need a passport, I highly recommend it, it makes the overall process easier, as well as getting on & off the ship when you are at port. we had an oceanview cabin, it was nice, spacious for the most part & clean. the food was amazing, I didn't try every restaurant like I wanted to, i mostly stayed at Guy's Burger joint, which have the best burgers I've ever had in my life. the entertainment and activities were fun, our cruise caption Cam made my first experience that much more greater, I loved how there were activities to do every hour of the day, you were never left with nothing to do. the staff were amazing, kept cabin neat & clean, everyone was always smiling & willing to help with anything. I'm glad i picked carnival cruise line for my first cruise. already planning my second & third cruises. I'm happy to now be apart of the cruise life. Read Less

This was a quick get away for my husband and I. Thank you jelly, Cam, the cruise director, Blessings, Superda, from Thailand, Danny, Roel, and especially Hery our cabin steward, also Lelia. You guys were great and made our cruise even better. It was a delight to feel so welcome and you went out of your way to ensure that we had fun. There were so many of you and I hope I haven’t forgotten any of you. Thanks Allison for your guidance during shopping. We got held up in DI in The Bahamas and didn’t get all the perks but that’s ok. We will definitely see you again but not on deck 7. Room E66 was not a great choice for us because of all the noise. It’s a party ship Blessings to you all. What an awesome Captain: can park a ship on a dime. Great job!! Never been on a ship where the captain actually got engaged with us and kept us abreast of everything. We am platinum members and this was by far the best cruise ever. Freeport absolutely sucks. Should be dropped from all ports of call. All I saw was containers and junk. Not attractive. Read Less

We just returned from a 6 day cruise on the Ecstasy. I booked late and you were able to arrange a table for 6 at our preferred time. I admit I had low expectations for our 19th cruise as we just wanted to insure our friend William Schaecher had a great 1st cruise! Imagine our amazement that this older craft gave us a wonderful experience and based upon the crew possibly our best cruise ever! You guys even arranged perfect weather, calm seas and bubbly passengers to entertain us. Our dining experience was excellent ! The Matri’d Aaron is a phenom! Not only did he arrange our dining but he managed the most active dining teams I have ever seen. All of the staff danced and sang and Aaron led the way! Well done sir! Well done all! Every single night! Our personal Dining team (Rudy Head waiter, I Gusti and Carlo Table 343 Windsong) were prompt, efficient, personable and very kind. What a wonderful team. (Team- Station 241.. Team Head Waiter-Fernandez, Rudy Gallardo; Team Waiter-Castillo, Carlo Castillo, and Ass’t Team Waiter Adhi, I Gusti Ngurah Rismayana) They took great care of us (6) and several other tables (2-12 seaters) with flair, gusto and a FUN outlook! We had a chance encounter with a head waiter- Reluca (Also WindStar ) in the Windsong dining room for breakfast. She is on her way home for a vacation and judging by our experience it was well earned. She always smile, waived and spoke with us where ever she saw us! Our Cabin Steward I Madi (R200) was very attentive and always a presence. His Towel animals were grand (Susan Squealed every night to see the next animal). We had only requested evening turn down but most days he neatened 2 times. Wonderful The ship is well maintained and meticulously groomed. The highlight for me was the CD the lovely Kyndall Fire! She is a bouncy, happy entertaining presence! From on stage to back stage or non-stage (We had missed our zone call out and when she saw our lanyards she escorted us out of line and had a fun-staff member escort us off the ship. And the entertainment staff (Playlist cast)! The harmony, movements and talent of each dancer and singer was clearly part of a team effort. The America Rocks stage show integrated at least four of the multiple person music group that usually provided excellent entertainment just outside of the Casino! They were blended with the Playlist cast it was wonderful! Never noticed it done before and what a wonderful sound and vibe. So thanks John and Ecstasy! What a wonderful time was had by so many ! So, I did an 8 day trip to St. Thomas, St. Maarten and San Juan. I was very hesitant on this because it was 1. My first cruise 2. I was going solo and 3. All the negative reviews. I did it anyway. One thing I learned, people will gripe if you hung them with a new rope. Was there a smell? Yes, it was hardly noticable. Did the ship list and rock? Yes, the best part about the whole trip was the rocking me to sleep. I will be going on this ship again, it's small enough to be able to walk without getting worn out but big enough to hide from the world. Don't get stuck in the negative. It is a vacation, things will happen....as is life. Take the trip. Enjoy the uniqueness of the ship. Repeat. The food was outstanding save for being lightly seasoned (bring garlic salt). Tacos were spot on, Guys burger excellent. Entertainment options got sparse during the 2 day haul back to port, but who cares, hang out on the deck and enjoy the sun. All of my excursions were cancelled due to weather, or no interest. No big deal, made my own excursions. Get the drink package. Fruity drinks are $10 plus, coffee $3 plus. I would suggest to get an interior room, I didn't spend much time in mine. Embarkation was speedy enough, debarkation was like hearding cats. Ship was clean, always. They were constantly cleaning, painting, shampooing and vacuuming carpets. I have only one complaint.....wanted to stay a few more days. Read Less

This was our first cruise and Ecstacy sure did set the bar high. From the moment my 11 and 8 year old boys seen the ship till the last day unloading the excitement never stopped. Kyndall Fire was our CD and she was amazing. She interacted with all the kids, danced with them and of course for one last time, unloading, had to say, BYEeeeeeee ok bye, to my boys. They loved her. Boarding was a breeze. Not knowing what to do at customs, they were amazing in assisting us. The food was absolutely incredible. Highly suggest the burger joint. Our room steward, I Made, no his name is not pronounced the way it is spelled but anyways, he was amazing. Asked our name one time and never fumbled the whole time. Always had our room cleaned and amazing towel animals made which also excited my kids. The water slides were a big hit for the boys along with putput and a huge chess game. The entertainment was off the chain. Amazing staff and performers. So would have paid more for this trip without a hesitation. If you were board, or your room was dirty and smelly its because you stayed in your room. Thank you Carnival Ecstasy for making our week an unforgettable one. BYEeeeeeeeee! Ok bye. Read Less

Everything excellent . Driving to port saves on cost. The ship was clean, staff friendly. I cruise a lot and carnival suits me fine. The food was great. Cabin was great (interior to save money. I usually cruise 2 times a year. I just like the casual atmosphere of carnival. I do this cruise at least one time each year When I want to splurge I go on RCCL. Not stuffy but more elegant in some ways than carnival is. I really don’t see that much difference in the cruise lines. Go to enjoy and you will. Try to find a cruise line you like and stick with that line.. the more you cruise on the same line the more. “Perks” you get. Don,t be timid haggling about the price and extras. Sometime it works and you get more at a lower fare. ENJOY. Your cruise, eat dance and be merry. You, Ha e earned every second of it. Read Less

We boarded on the ship within 20 minutes of parking the car it was truly a breeze. Once we got on at around 1:20 the room were not quite ready so we explored a little bit and went to are room. The location of a interior upper lower on deck 7 aft was amazing. Up the stairs one level was the main dining room and up another was city lights (Promenade) and up one more was the buffet. The Entertainment started right that night although we did not see any whole shows the whole week it was still a blast. Lip sync battle was amazing on board it was loads and of fun and was quite entertaining. The interior state room was perfect because their was still lots of room to walk around the stateroom. Although when we got into port at Freeport and Nassau the whole ship rattled and made a lot noise which woke me up. The Promenade was always fun at night with lots of people in the Casino and one night there was even a “Mardi Gras” party which was loads of fun. On board this ship there were 3 water slides technically but 2 were identical racers and they were both really fun but note it would be better when everyone gets off so there are no lines. There was a mini golf course there on board the ship it was not very decorative like RCI ships but it was still fun. The ship gym on deck 12 is very nice with its own dance studio were there are spin classes. The food on board was pretty good but unlike RCI the pizza is made to order and there is none ever pre made. The comedians on board were very funny. The staff were always so funny and are room maid was the best he always cleaned are room to perfection and replaced are ice. The best thing about this ship is the fun never ends and I think carnival does a good job with this. The ship would remind me of Las Vegas on a boat in the middle of the ocean with all the wacky colours in the carpet, light fixtures, bars, casino, everything pretty much. This was an amazing holiday and I would recommend Carnival Ecstasy or at least Carnival Fantasy Class to anyone because it is a lot of fun and worth every penny! Read Less

Ship is old, but well cared for and they work on it constantly. inside cabin was nice and clean. Gladys took great care of us. I enjoyed the food. not sure why it gets so many bad reviews. Dinning room was great Silviu and Shainia rocked as our wait staff. Aaron was the best Matre'de (sp?) we've had on 7 cruises. Saw him busing tables in the buffet one day at lunch. hard working, good example. I really think too many people have unrealistic expectation for this cruise. If you want everything to be perfect you're going to have to pay for it, and it's still no guarantee you'll get it. Relax and enjoy this ship and its staff, they are outstanding. Read Less

This was the first cruise for my wife and I and we absolutely loved it. We tried to do some research before booking the cruise and asked some friends and family and they all said they enjoyed carnival. We do plan on trying some other cruise lines just to get some variety and be able to compare the experiences but we will definitely sail with carnival again. When we first saw the ship we realized how old it was and thought we would be very disappointed but once we got aboard we saw how wrong we were. The ship was very up to date and well decorated. First off the room, it was small but there was adequate room to move around. Some people will probably complain that the room is too small but you have to manage your expectations going in. Don’t expect a spacious hotel room, it is a boat that holds thousands of people so there’s only so much room. One negative is that there is only one outlet but they tell you ahead of time to bring a power strip (not a surge protector those are prohibited) so we were able to charge both of our phones and anything else we needed to charge. The mattress was very firm and comfy and the sheets were smooth. Our steward was amazing, every time he saw us he asked us how our day was and knew our names after the first day. He kept everything very clean and organized. Next the food, delicious. We ate at the main dining room (wind song) most nights and ate the buffet the other times. No matter which place you went the food was expertly prepared and was an extremely high quality. We selected late dining so we had the same table and same wait team every night we ate in wind song. The team was very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. We didn’t know what a lot of the dishes were and they were able to explain and recommend several of the dishes based on our likes and dislikes. The one negative was the lack of options. The served the same food in the buffet room and the wind song room so really the only reason to do the reserved dining was to have the more upscale atmosphere and be waited on. The only other options on the entire ship was pizza pirate and guys burgers. The pizza was pretty disappointing, always had to wait 10 minutes and it was very thin and light on cheese/toppings. Guys burgers was delicious but anything gets tiresome if you eat it for 5 days straight. There were no extra restaurants that you could pay extra to eat at, which I thought would be included. I don’t drink but there were certainly plenty of different alcoholic options so people who like to drink will have plenty of options. Embarkation and debarkation were very smooth and easy. I did forget to print our boarding passes/ room luggage tags beforehand but they had luggage tags to hand write on and I was able to show our boarding passes on my phone for the most part until the printed one for me. Entertainment was great, I personally enjoyed the trivia, (even though I didn’t know most of the answers) and the musical shows. There was a wide variety of things for people of different tastes and ages. Two dedicated kids/teens hangouts/groups so always something for them to do. There were quite a few activities that were targeted to get you to buy things either on the ship or in the ports which was disappointing but I expected that kind of commercialization coming in. Leon, the entertainment director, was very funny and interactive with the crowd. You could see that he really cared and tried to make an impact on everyone. There is mini golf on the very top deck but it’s almost impossible to play, unless you’re docked, due to the wind. There was a wide variety of shore excursions to choose from at each port, each one we chose was easily accessed and fun. The Charleston port was very dirty and looked in very rough shape, Freeport wasn’t much to look at except for a very small shopping area right off the boat. However I don’t hold either one of those against Carnival because they have no control over that. Half moon cay was beautiful and the free beach and lunch was amazing. No activities to due other than the beach really but everyone needs a relaxation day. Nassau was by far the best port. Very vibrant culture, lots of shopping and excursions, and a private island (blue lagoon island) a short boat ride away. Don’t waste your money on the endless bubbles program. You can only have 1 soda at a time and you have to hope that the bar you’re closest to has what you want I n stock. They literally just pour cans of soda and ice into a cup and hand it to you. You’re allowed to bring a 12 pack (per person) of cans on board so I suggest doing that since it’s much cheaper to purchase that and easier to access them. On the other hand the endless cheers program seemed so be worth its money if you plan on having more than a few drinks. I can’t personally speak to it because I didn’t purchase it and I do not drink. Overall it was a great experience for a first cruise and we will definitely be sailing with carnival again! Read Less

The cabin was enough space for my wife and I and was equipped with everything that we needed. The lunch options and the dinner options were both very good. For the entertainment we took advantage of a lot of the entertainment options on the ship. The service was very good. Before me got on the check in when very smoothly. That bags were in the room and it seemed like there were plenty of staff to assist with everything. The itinerary was good. Port location was motivation to sail this ship. Charleston is well equipped to handle the bag drop off and embarkation smoothly. Disembarkation was just as smooth, although all passengers were trying to do the same thing, at the same time. Good assistance for handicap needs. Many did self disembarkation - saw them leaving as early as 7a.m. ECSTASY shows evidence of her age; however, inside, is clean, neat, and orderly. Good shape, imho. The gym had plenty of good equipment. Liked the Candy Shoppe and the $10 store. Casino was smokey and that odor seemed evident everywhere. Some evidence of the sewer odor, but never a problem nor lasting. Plumbing worked. A/C - heat worked. TV worked, but it didn't offer preferred viewing. We got the essentials of weather & news over and over. Inside cabin was well appointed with plenty of storage for two. No complaints. The bath was roomy considering our category. No toiletries other than small bar of soap and the shampoo and bath soap in wall containers. (hint: bring your own). Sheets were not worn; neither were they ironed. Could not get a robe nor a foam pillow. Coffee was consistently to our liking, as was the iced tea. If you prefer tea, you will pay $1.95 for their specialty teas, or drink the offered Lipton. (Another hint: bring your own if you are fussy.) To book next cruise while you are on a cruise was handled by the Shore Excursion. No incentive, imho, best to save this project for when you return home. There is a 2-wk window to do this. CD Leon was high quality. Zoe, too, was Excellent. We had fun with Kyle for his Paper Airplane Contest. Trivia is popular on this ship - many subjects and many times to participate. The theater entertainment isn't the most interesting, but performers were Excellent at what they could do in a small theater with small stage and limited resources. They made every effort to entertain us. The Holiday Show was nice. Can you believe Leon made it snow in the Atrium? The Atrium is very pretty and the hub of this ship. The dining room menus offered the usual, plus some unusual things to try. We particularly enjoyed the carved ham and carved turkey in the Lido Buffet. Desserts were good. Ice Cream in the dining rm was a good option for dessert with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Did not find many sugar free options, but did not request any, so don't know if available by request? There was a broad spectrum of age groups well represented in this pre Christmas cruise. Security was evident everywhere - never any problems. Children were not running wild. Did not see drunken behavior though the bars were always crowded. People get brave when they drink, but on this cruise, passengers were well behaved and cordial. Majority of passengers were from the Carolina's, Tennessee, Georgia. Picked up free Wifi in Princess Cays, Grand Turk, Amber Cove. Margaritas and Music were great at Margaritaville Grand Turk. First and foremost- our room stewards, Dedi & Sasha were excellent! They gave us extra towels, kept ice in our rooms and always stopped to socialize and ensure that our needs were met! Thanks so much guys! Cruise director, Deon was wonderful! We really enjoyed the music trivia nights with him and Double D. Also, a big thank you to Dan & Steffan for hosting the comedy shows and being so friendly! Johnny Milwater, Cee Jay Jones, Thomas Brown and Jodi White put on great comedy shows and we had lots of laughs! A special thanks to LexAppeal for your nightly performances and the rock show - we thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening to all of you! Thanks to Bandit and the burger guys, we love Guy's burgers! The pixel staff was wonderful as well! Reymond and Made were very attentive on the smoking deck as well, thanks guys for keeping everything cleaned up. We would like to send a special thanks to all of the dining and housekeeping staff on the Lido deck. The only negative thing about the cruise was the long wait for the dining room on cruise formal night. It took 45 minutes to get in the dining room and another 45 minutes to get our appetizer. That was very disappointing, but the good was good! Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely do it again! Took the Ecstasy for a 6 day to Bermuda. We have been on the Ecstasy before. The crew was great and they took care of any issues very easily. Food was good and everything was clean. Entertainment was top notch. This is an old ship and all the public areas are above the rooms. The whole cruise was great, weather was so so but carnival didnt make the weather. trouble didnt come till the very last day. Captain warned us that we would be in 4 hours late due to the heavy seas and strong head wind. but over night i got a letter saying i needed to go to a deck 8 lounge to meet with customs. It stated i would owe the customs money. I only bought 2 cartons of cigarettes even though the guy tried hard to sell me 4 cartons. you are only allowed one carton per passenger and since it was only me and my wife that makes 2 my limit. I also bought her some jewelry at the fun shops that was over 700 dollars but then again for two people it is 1600 total. I had maybe 50 dollars in trinkets from the port so i was way under on customs. BUT Carnival turned my name in as oweing duty as if i was travelling alone. Mean while my daughter got the same type of letter becausse she spent 1300 at the fun shops. So 1030 i get in line as the ship docks. and hour later there was no one yet. one guy showed to do this ( this isnt carnivals fault) but me standing in line was. Finally i was next and inside 45 seconds the customs officer after looking at my statement stamps me approved and sends me on my way. BTW my daughter had the exact same experience. Anyhow now i had to get in line to leave and we were in port nearly an hour by this time. Lesson learnt was dont spend more on board than you can individually bring ashore duty free, it doesnt matter if there are 2, 3 or 4 of you in your party. There were a lot of people in that line and i was close to the front.I feel for those at the end. If carnival selected with a bit more intelligence it wouldnt have been an issue at all. The food was overall really good. I love the ribs, and the service this time was impecable. From sit down to stand up only an hour, usually it is more like 90 to 120 minutes. We did have 3 sea days so brunch was something i love on carnival and it was as usual delicious. The band Lexappeal was awesome and was even included one night in the stage show. The male and female singers were great. The other performers were also very good and each had a very different genre and in its own right appealing. The ship doesnt have a big screen but I dont really watch movies often. The port was ok. Glad i went , probably wont return. Things seems a bit more pricey than normal. I took a shore excursion to see the whole of the island and they did that for sure. I think if I did return i would take the ferry over to hamilton for the shopping. Just my 2 cents. Let me finish on a totally up note. The crew was fantastic. obviously the management is doing a bang up job. Oh and I am including a pic of my towel animal..... Read Less

I chose this cruise because it was 8 days out of Charleston, and I like Ecstasy. I live in Northern Virginia and don't mind the drive to Charleston for a cruise as long as 8 days. It would be much simpler to drive to Baltimore, but I just don't like Pride as much as I do Ecstasy. When I saw the lines I thought boarding would be a problem, but nope, things moved very quickly and politely. Same can be said for debark. I ate several breakfasts and lunches at the lido buffet. For me, the breakfast offerings are so varied you just can't go wrong - cereal, fruit and yogurt one day, bread and cold cuts another, breakfast burrito or omelette or pancakes another time. For lunch i tried the deli, a very good rueben, and a taco bowl from Blue Iguana Cantina, the salad bar. A nice treat was onion rings from Guys Burgers. But I ate every dinner in the dining room. I had any time dining and usually arrived around 8 and never had to wait. The staff was very solicitous of me. I was cruising alone, and requested a table alone, and my serving team managed for me to never feel awkward. The food I ate was good. Twice I had the Indian vegetarian. I tried several of the port of call offerings. Most nights I didn't eat dessert, saving my appetite for midnight snacks of pizza and the "good eats" offerings. Good eats are available on lido from around 11 to 12 and have hot dogs and sandwiches and cookies/brownies. I tried all of it and definitely preferred the pizza. They make a very good mushroom pizza. In the mornings before breakfast I exercised by walking around all the open decks and doing laps on the jogging track, and by swimming in the pool. The pool opens at 8 and was pretty empty until 10 or so, so that was nice to be able to swim a bit. During the day I relaxed in the Serenity area; a great place for reading or just watching the ocean go by. There was always ample space and a lounge where I wanted one. The only complaint is that there was bar service when I wasn't interested in a drink and never a bar server around when I wanted one! I also tried out the water slides. Such a thrill for an over 60 lady! When taking a break from the sun there were plenty of options for trivia and other games. I went to the daytime Hasbro Game Show. A lot of fun - and I was selected to participate. Woo-hoo. In the evenings I attended some of the production shows. Nothing spectacular but entertaining. I saw two of the comics. Both funny. But interestingly, for one of them I saw his early, family friendly show which was edgy but not inappropriate, and I really liked him so I went back for the later adult only show and he just didn't connect - like he was trying too hard to hit the R-rated or X-rated notes and it just flopped for me. AND I hit the casino. It was fun. I didn't lose too much money. I haven't smoked in 30 years, but thankfully cigarette smoke doesn't irritate me as much as it does others. In the casino there are no non-smoking slots. As long as someone is playing they can smoke. The Ecstasy casino must be very well ventilated because it wasn't terrible. Yes, it is smokey as is the Promenade deck that it's on. But again, for me, not terrible. In St. Thomas I caught a cab to Coki Beach. I hadn't been there but my research told me that it was the best, easily accessed for snorkeling. It was both easy to get to, a $20 round trip cab ride, and good snorkeling. I saw lots of fish and wide variety. In St. Maarten I did the Carnival excursion Scenic Coastal Hike. This was great; a rocky walk along the coast, lots of gorgeous ocean vistas, as well as lots of goats and iguanas. After the tour I walked along the boardwalk and Front St., stopping at a little shop for excellent ice cream. In San Juan I just got off the boat and walked around and headed over to El Morro. The forts there are so fascinating. Ok. So why am I a big fan of Carnival Ecstasy? Service and layout. I just love the size of the ship and the easy access to lots of outdoor areas, not just the lido pool area. I find the service to be top-notch. My cabin steward responded to all my requests immediately. I didn't have hot water one morning, by afternoon I did. I wanted a robe and an ice bucket. Within an hour I had them. I already mentioned the dining crew. Here's the best part. I went to the meet and mingle, not expecting anything much. There were about 30 cruisers in attendance, tho many more had signed up. Carnival had laid out all these great snacks, sort of like what they offer at tea-time but even better; little petit-fours; little sandwiches and canapes. I was sitting on a couch with some other cruisers, and the head of hotel services, the head of food services and the head of guest services came to sit down with us and just chat about cruising. I thought that was so nice. Then later there was a goodie bag in my cabin from guest services! Read Less

I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience on this ship. I knew she was an old girl, but really the Ecstasy was so well maintained. This was my 15th Carnival cruise so I've been on plenty of ships of all sizes. I've always found that the best service is on the smaller ships and this cruise was no exception. Lee the cruise director was soooo fun and full of great energy and seemed to be everywhere at once. We saw him constantly which was not always usual for the CDs. We booked this cruise last minute so the dining room late seating was full and we had the your time dining. I'd never done that before but am now hooked. It was great to not be tied to a specific time to be there. We never waited to be seated. Some other reviews complained about the food which I never understand. I also cruised with Royal Caribbean and Norwegian and think the food on Carnival is so much better. I always eat breakfast in the dining room as the food there is definitely better than the Lido although the one day we were in port and the dining rooms were closed, I got a breakfast burrito from Blue Iguana and it was great. The Sea Day Brunch is not to be missed. Guy's burgers is really great, and Blue Iguana has an excellent burrito. We really enjoyed the comedy club and went to all the shows. The comedians on our cruise were Killer Beaz and Dean Gaines. We've both been to the Bahamas multiple times and it's not my favorite port but this time, I went by a recommendation on the boards here and went to Ardastra Gardens and I'm so glad I did. Their big attraction is the marching flamingos and feeding the Lory parrots. I loved the parrot feeding and could have stayed there all day The flamingos just walk around the place so we got so many pictures of them. I would definitely cruise on this ship again and with us living in NC, it was a short drive to get to the port so it's very convenient. Read Less

This was my very 1st cruise. My family had our reunion and chose Carnival Ectasy: I was so excited to go because I had never been on a cruise before let alone to the Bahamas. There was so much to do on the boat. I just want to say that all the staff were very courteous and so so nice. I never saw anyone standing around they we all doing something all the time. The cruise director was amazing. He kept every event he did fun and alive . He was awsome. The food was excellent from the buffet , to room service, to dinning at the wind star. I would also like to say Lyston was our waitor/server- he was great. He made sure we didn't want fore anything. Lyston was so pleasant and helpful. He kept us informed about our food coming out to us and kept us entertained a little during the process not to mention he is very handsome. My highlight was the last night of my cruise. the Madigra Party. The cruise director was awesome the music and dj was great. We had an amazing time. The food and entertainment was wonderful. The kids loved the Kids club. The beach day was great. We loved Nassau as well. We took a 10 best of Nassau bus tour that had mixed reviews on the carnival excursion website. However we loved it! We did not find the sales people to be pushy, everyone we met was friendly and wanted to hear about where we were from and help us find what we were looking for. The drinks at the pool side bars were amazing and the drinks at achlimy were out of this world, the best we’ve ever had. We ate dinner in the main dining room every night, loved the variety of the appetizers and the entrees each night. Our kids enjoyed everything about this cruise. I have no complaints at all and we are hooked on cursing now. We plan to go on a cruise every year. Read Less

Going into the cruise we (myself, wife, and 15 year old daughter) knew the Ecstasy wasn't the newest ship in the fleet or had all the bells and whistles. With that being said this one on of the best cruise experiences we've ever had. The ship is showing its age, but the crew was continuously cleaning and doing maintenance. I'm not a fan of the new once per day cabin service, but we choose morning and only missed our service once due to sleeping in. One quick call and we had fresh towels and we're all set. We also had FTTF and it was very nice going directly to the cabin and dropping our bags, as well as, the priority tender access. We didn't have to visit guest services, but he FTTF line was never busy that I noticed. We’re normally don't attend trivia, deck parties and such, however this cruise was different. We meet cruise director Gary and Bingo Host Le at the welcome aboard party and those guys had us hooked. We did tons of trivia, attending all the atrium parties, as well as, the deck parties just because of the Fun Team and their enthusiasm and atmosphere they created. I’ve never cruise specifically based on a cruise director, but if I get the chance to Cruise with Gary or Le again count me in. Read Less

First, the embarkation on the ship went very quick. We had an embarkation appointment at 1:00 p.m, but we were with a group and your company called Jett Tours. We arrived early at around lunch time so 12:00 p.m. The embarkation was quick went straight in got through the metal detectors, went and added cash money in my Sail & Sign account. Then after about 15 minuets we were on the boat by 12:15 p.m. upon getting on the ship R41 me and my sisters room was ready by 1:30 p.m. Now, exactly at 4:00 p.m. we left Charleston, South Carolina for a fun sea day. The sea day was just going and basically eating, laying out, looking at Duty - Free Shops, and other miscellaneous things. It was the same for both sea days. I did an excursion on each of the islands we went to which we went to first Eleuthera, Princess Cays, Bahamas. On the first island me and my party went for a Adult Santuary Bungalow. The bungalow did come with food and everything and was really good. Even had soda. The bad part is with the rocks. Princess Cays is such a rocky place and I got cutband hurt many times and I was looking for rocks but they still scraped. The second island was New Providence, Nassau, Bahamas. It was so much better and we went to Atlantis. Other than being attacked by a seagull Atlantis was wonderful and the best and so fun. We had the water park and aquarium for Atlantis. To add they also did have mixers for LGBT guests to meet and mingle each day which was nice and felt very comfortable and inclusive of everyone. The debarktion process was good as well. Very quick and efficient. I was off the ship in like at 8:30 a.m. and by 9:00 was on the Charter Bus. They were no issues at all and all I needed was my License and my declaration sheet for the cigarettes for my mother. Then we were on our way. All in all it was a nice experience and I would definitely sail on the Ecstasy again. Even though it’s a older ship, a little dated, and a little more moving. It was still nice. It didn’t bother me and the staff is always nice. Gabriela at guest services even game me a free drink because I just looked like I needed one. They are nice and everything. I have no complaints really. Would 100% recommend it. Read Less

I chose this cruise for my first cruise with my friends to celebrate graduating from college. It was such an amazing experience, and that was in large part, due to the wonderful staff on this ship, who helped make it an unforgettable experience. The entertainment crew (fun squad), were some of my favorite, and in particular the DJ, Lee. He was so funny and just amazing at what he does. I enjoyed all the dance parties, as well as the Mardi Gras Party on my last night. Another one of the wonderful people, was our house keeper, Jurney! He was always so kind to my friends and I, he done a great job cleaning our room, always left us cute towel animals, and never ceased to greet us with a smile. I would like to also mention one lady from guest services, Ioana, who went above and beyond in helping my friends and I plan for our excursion in Nassau! All in all, we had a wonderful time laying out by the pools, the music and dance parties, and the karaoke. I do think the food could be better, but that's my opinion. There were also some weird smells on the ship that I did not like. Besides that, it was an amazing experience. Read Less

This was my first cruise and I enjoyed myself so much that I didn't want it to end. The Carnival staff is just amazing! The cabin was so clean! The young men who cleaned our room Rust and Ting knew us by name and we had just arrived. They were so friendly I went to my room to get a few dollars for Rust and he started laughing and saying "Thank you." My roommate said "Yes, he knew you had never cruised. We tip them at the end. " This is how impressed I was with the service. The food was more than I had hoped for. I enjoyed the shrimp burritos and the burgers on the LIDO Deck. The dining room at the Wind Song is really nice with an exceptional staff. I tip my hat to Alex who is just a person with a beautiful soul. He is so devoted to the people he serves. He is also entertaining and humorous that our table was in tears laughing. Alex also has some sexy dance moves. The helpers Floyd and Putra stayed on top of things. Whenever we were done with one dish they were ready to serve the next one. Floyd and Alex did this trick balancing forks with toothpicks that blew our minds. I have to say Putra's smile is so contagious that I looked forward to seeing him each night. He also called me by name on the first night. I will always remember this wonderful staff. It is because of Alex that the people at our table wanted to get to know one another. The entertainment set up by the Cruise Director Gary and the Production Manger is a "Must See." The cast of the shows are so talented and you can't help but appreciate all the work they put in to entertain everyone. The "American Rock" show and The Brits were Awesome! I also enjoyed Gary's humor during The Love and Marriage Show. I enjoyed the different Trivia games every day. I got really close to winning the music trivia from 50's and 60's. I went to all the Effy jewelry raffles and didn't win anything. I did get a free charm bracelet. The two things I was so proud to see Gary take part in was the Military Appreciation and St. Jude Grove Fundraiser. It was an emotional day for some of the military men and my heart was heavy holding back the tears. I learned a new dance during St Jude Grove. It was a fun time. I also enjoyed Kim Harrison comedy show. She has one rather interesting song she came up with. The Bahamas has pretty blue waters. My shore excursion was the beautiful Atlantis. It is something I'm glad I got to see. My day at Princess Cays was spent on the beach which had rocky waters. I was so glad the rain stopped and I got to go for a walk. Embarkation day was just as easy getting off the ship as it was getting on. The staff does a great job at keeping the lines moving and making sure everything runs smoothly. Carnival Ecstasy, I think I love you! This South Carolina Girl Read Less
