Well where do start. I know how about Sunday morning at 7am where the crew was dragging some big item across the floor and banging with a large hammer. How about the disgusting smell at the elevator entrance that makes you want to commit. I realize it's a cruise and your not suppose to set in your room but maybe having more than 5 TV channels that repeat programming over and over. Now let me get to the main complaint. The food on this ship is horrible. Why do you only have one buffet that is a hodge podge of nothing. Why is it shut down multiple times a day. Why does the most popular thing in the ship the burger place close at 6 everyday. Even the Mexican place closes. If you choose to wait till after 6 to eat you either go to the nicer dining hall or eat the crappy buffet. Sorry I have been on other ships and this was not an issue. Even the nicer dining hall sucks! Our room was decent but that's about it. Rumor has it this ship is leaving and a different one is coming to Charleston. Hope so because if not this is my families last one. Oh one last thing. My wife can occupy herself and have fun about anywhere but she is bored out of her mind because there is nothing to do on this boat. Be warned, drive on down the coast and get on a other boat. Chose this cruise due to its close proximity to our home. I wish beyond wishes I would have read reviews before booking. As soon as we walked on boat my husband and I looked at each other in horror. The smell is so overwhelming. Complete and utter sewage smell ALL the time. The boat felt so unclear as it is outdated, old, rusty etc. I could barely sleep...it felt like I was sleeping in an RV camper and I HATE camping. We were so bored...had 5 kids with us and hardly any activities, overcrowded pool etc. Our 3rd stop was supposed to be half moon cat which is the one place I could not wait to go and the captain determined the waves were too high so we could not get off boat. While I appreciate them keeping us safe the thought of staying on that boat for one more sea day made me cry. I woke up with a migraine every night from the boat rocking my head up and down so hard every night. I will say the staff was absolutely incredible and made our trip somewhat enjoyable. They deserve a medal for living with that sewage smell and The constant rocking of that ship. NEVER AGAIN!! Read Less

This ship is small, outdated, and poorly kept. Stateroom feels like staying in an old camper. We experienced a disgusting septic backup in our bathroom and guest services refused to offer anything other than a credit for a $50 bar tab. Beds and bedding are cheap and uncomfortable. Ship was cold with no heat available in room. No specialty restaurants are available. The food offerings are repetitive and boring. Free drink selection was limited to water, coffee and rancid tasting "tea." No indoor pool or solarium available in case of inclement weather. The outdoor pool, hot tubs and sundeck are ugly and overcrowded. The onboard shops were very limited and tacky. Very limited tv options in room. Other than the Atlantis excursion in Nassau, there is nothing to see or do in either Nassau or Freeport. I will not ever sail with carnival again. We were very disappointed in the condition of the ship and the ports of call. Read Less

The ship and my room had a horrible smell like a septic tank. I was not given a bootle to open on the last nighth of the cruise the bar tenders were rude. The stateroom steward was awesome. The ride going was rocky and the entire boat was sick. No storms so I was confused why it was that bad. Icalled to report all my issues to carvial, I was told they would research and call me back based on this site everyone was complaining so unsure what you need to research. Restaurants: Food was horrible. The Buffet(s) was closed almost every time I went to it (5:15pm, 7:15am, 6pm, normal times) The Guy's burgers were good but the rest sucked. I ate soft ice cream with a fork, got served a warm coke with 4 ice cubes, I had a flat iron steak that was as tough and tasted like a boot sole, the service was atrocious and I waited well over an hour in the dinning room for pasta which tasted like it was prepared 2 weeks earlier from a can. Bars: they close early so there's no way to get 15 drinks from you Cheers Package, there's not enough time in the day. You have an 18% gratuity included but if you don't tip, they aren't coming back. The Casino Bar stays open late but it's tiny and the only bar open so it takes even longer to get a drink. Shows: I'm not big on shows but most people we talked to liked them generally. Princess Cays, Nice, beautiful, same crew as the ship so service was bad and we had to pay for all drinks and tips and the lunch was long line and dry hamburger (1). Ship: Nice weather and smooth till we headed home and with a 60 mph wind we go tossed around. Boarding and Debarkation was fairly easy. We cannot tell you how excited we were to leave on 1/6/19. We were eloping, taking our first cruise, and my soon-to-be husband was leaving the country for the first time. His name is Brandon. That'll be in important here in a second. We get ready on the morning of the 9th for our wedding and go to the library to have our ceremony. The officiant is reading a manual on how to perform weddings when we arrive. That's a little odd but whatever, we get it. Wanna stay sharp. The ceremony begins. The officiant seems nervous but heck, so are we! He talks about marriage for a minute and then launches into the canned vows... my fiance and I have brought our personalized vows with us written on cards. We both stumble through the generic ones thinking ... maybe ours will go after that? What is happening? Then the officiant calls my fiance JUSTIN and we both look at each other. Something is very wrong. He then has us bow our heads and starts a prayer. Neither my husband or I have any problem bowing our heads for a prayer at other ceremonies. We however never approved a prayer for our own wedding day and certainly wouldn't have approved THIS ONE. Is it too much to ask to just be given what you paid for on your wedding day? Before we left for the cruise, the wedding planner and I had a very clear email thread where the details for the ceremony were mapped out. They weren't anything special but they were what we wanted; we were an easy couple! At no point did anyone even ask us about a prayer. I was even sent a script for the generic wedding that I edited minimally and sent back - at their request. Why did I go through any of that if they weren't going to use any of it?! Later, when we were back in our room and had recited our ACTUAL vows sitting beside one another on the bed, my husband said that during the middle of the ceremony, once he could tell there had been a mix up, he wanted to just interrupt and say "can we just do the pictures so we can go?" I completely understood what he meant. It felt like a bad dream. So we get home, and I send a colorful email to the carnival wedding team ON THE SAME THREAD where all of our instructions for the wedding were approved in clear detail, and let them know that something went very wrong. They offer me a couple hundred dollar refund for the officiant's service, which was clearly botched. Yeah, our ceremony was something out of a bad romantic comedy, but i'll just take a couple hundred bucks instead of a full refund for our wedding. Sure. So, they tell me a resolution team will contact me within 7 business days. I wait. Those business days come and go. No one has contacted me. It's been weeks. I reply on the active thread demanding they at least give ME the email address of this illusive department that was supposed to contact me. Crickets. This is a nightmare. I have yet to hear anything back. So, in tears today, I filed my first ever better business bureau complaint against Carnival. If you had told us. before our wedding, that we'd be sitting on some BBB website, filing a claim against the company that would perform our wedding, I would have laughed. I'm the type of person who would rather keep something I don't like than deal with the hassle of getting a refund. So, I do not recommend carnival cruise line for anything purely based on their indifference to handling what is a truly sad situation for my husband and myself. But also because the food was completely underwhelming, the bed in our ultra fancy suite [literally the nicest room we could purchase] was two twin beds pushed together where they slide apart if anyone tries to lay remotely close to the center - just what we were hoping for on our honeymoon, because there was cigarette smoke wafting into different non-smoking and unavoidable areas of the ship at all times, and because the entire trip felt like a weird upsell designed to get us to spend more money. One positive: the staff that maintained our rooms was SUPER kind and personable and did an amazing job Read Less

This is our second trip on the Carnival Ecstasy on the Rivera level (4th Floor) with a portal ocean view.. Upon arriving at the port we were charged $20 per day ($120) parking though last trip they provided complementary parking with my Military ID. They commented that they never offered a military discount..(I must be nuts, right?) The Terminal - Entering the terminal we were quickly greeted and given big smiles by happy staff members quick to offer a "Happy New Year" as this was New Year's Eve. We were impressed by their quick wit and great attitudes. We had an 11am boarding and we were on board by 11:05am.. Great News!! The ship - was decked out for the holidays and the atrium was beautiful! Shortly after boarding staff were serving up free champagne! A New Years Eve treat.. Yay! It's a classic pretty ship with plenty of nostalgic looks, neon and a feel of ole grandeur. but despite a recent dry doc seem to be really showing her age. I really wish they had upgraded the same old tire hot tubs at dry-dock.. No consistent temps, jets were weak and guards missing on the bottom and sides.. The Bad: Everyone said it was the worst smelling ship they had experienced. I heard it on elevators, bars, casino, pools etc... I did notice and it was bad, but I've gotten used to a tolerable smell level on ships by now.. but it was bad.. The Cabin - We made our way to our cabin and BAM!! it was ready!! Yes!! all going well and as planned! The cabin looked good but only a King and a trundle ... we were a group of four..?? In short order in speaking with Guest Services they installed what look like an aluminum gurney (like an ambulance gurney without legs) small frame bed on the floor... Weird right, but ok.. my Kids were game.. The bad: the drains failed, room smelled uck!!! nasty.. No Fridge, and I had to pull away from the blackjack table to figure out if my kids would be charged for a PB&J sandwich as the new room service charges/rules are crazy! I'm sure that's covered elsewhere on cruise critic! Dining - Having spent nearly half a year at sea I've eaten in quite a few Dining Rooms and in fact I've been in this very dining room before.. but this table was crammed so tight and elbow to elbow that I thought I was in a airline coach seat. It was so contentious just to get your elbow up to eat that we gave up and left..Not to return. They said they were full and sorry. Food - Spend the $20 up-charge and get the Surf and Turf (Wonderful!!) The rest was, well.... let's just say "Carnival Food"..Enough said? Entertainment - Comedian John Mulrooney was very good! Go see his show! Excursions - We did the DeepSea fishing it was fun and the Kids luved it!! Same with the parasailing! SPA - The Spa Manager (Razvan ?) was great.. He probably was one of the best spa managers I've seen on ships.. He went out of his way to ensure we had great service.. We used almost all of the services, my son got a haircut, daughter a mani-pedi and facial for the wife... ahh and for me you ask? I did everything else. LOL.. yes try the Bamboo it's the best! The Casino - Slow drinks as usual, and no comp on the drinks and I've played enough to not care but only to say I should have been comped considering the level of play.. Halfmoon Key - really nice except the smell coming from the water park.. Smelled like the ship... Nasty .. Disembarkation - Went Great! Smooth... Summary: Will not repeat on this ship, looking at canceling 2 future bookings on Carnival. The nickle and diming is bad.. real bad.. Drinks were more, gratuity is more, parking is more, stores were more etc.. Read Less

We chose this cruise as it one of the few that sailed from Charleston, SC. Boy, what a huge mistake. I am going to keep it simple and list the positive and negatives. Positives - * Port was closer to us. Negatives - * Old Ship so the facilities were outdated. * Terrible food. The deserts were average, my kids never had a second helping of any desert which is rare :-) * Kid activities were bad. They were bored to death most of the time. * Ship was constantly wobbly leading to motion sickness. I guess this can be attributed to some rough weather, but it was really crazy at times with plates literally flying off the dining area. * Icing on cake was my lost luggage. I filed a complaint at port on disembarking. When I called back to enquire first I was told to call UPS. I call UPS they said to call back after 2 weeks which is their 'waiting period'. I call back carnival and they tell me I have to call within 30 days and I am past that date. Read Less

We ran into bad weather the first two days which the captain stated he did not expect. Over half of our party was sick along with members who were working on the cruise ship. We were unable to do anything and spent both days sick. The ship was not equipped to handle the bad weather. Captain should have taken us somewhere else. Vomit was in the halls, elevators, and dining areas. Worst cruise for Thanksgiving ever and it was our first family cruise with over 18 people. Ship did not have lip sync battle and activities that were postpone were never reschedule. Food was like cafeteria food. The Chefs Table served the exact same menu as the Carnival Fantasy in Mobile, Alabama which we traveled on in 2016. Nothing was different from the appetizers down to the dessert. For almost $200 it was a waste of money for the same experience. The only good thing was Roy who was our cabin steward. Nothing special about this ship very outdated. Customer service did absolutely nothing when I filled a complaint for our group. After a year of planning this family vacation it was a waste of time and money. Read Less

I chose this cruise for the time that was allotted to staying in Bermuda. It was changed and we were cheated time on the island. The only reason I booked the cruise was for the time I was told we would be there which was changed and I do not know why. We had a balcony room. The first night something sweeked all night. I reported it woke up the next morning it was still sweeking. Told the cabin staff person he went and found it. It was a door left ajar. The next night the people in the cabin had a huge argument at 4 in the morning which last for an hour and half. One evening the room smelled so bad that I literately thought I was going to lose my dinner. We were in a cabin in which the room attendant never put up the bunk beds so we literally had one chair and one stool for four people. I had to move my bed to the middle of the floor at night because I thought if it as a jail cell. (Not that I know what that really feels like). I am a gold member so this was not my first cruise, but may be my last on Carnival. I am going to file a complaint. No one on our bus going back to parking lot said they wanted to return when asked by the bus driver. This ship needs to be docked and Carnival needs to refund passengers money for this cruise!!!!! This cruise was supposed to be 3 days docked in Bermuda. It was the entire reason we booked this cruise in the first place so we could take our time on the island. The itinerary was consistently changing and eventually we ended up with one full day and 2 extremely short partial days. My wife and I ended up spending more money on excursions and having less time to actually enjoy the island (like we originally paid for) No one on the crew really even acknowledged our concerns or offered "anything at all" to try to make it better. I would think it was maybe just my personal thoughts alone, however, virtually every other passenger I came in contact with was complaining about the same thing. I have been on 6 Carnival cruises in the last several years. I generally don't bargain shop for cruises... I see a cruise I like and I book it. Carnival has been my go-to in the past, however this last experience has caused me to start looking elsewhere for future cruises. The sad part is, that for the most part the crew was as expected... the food was as expected.... the entertainment was as expected but the fact that the itinerary was drastically changed.... and then.... there were no apologies from the crew, nor was there really any acknowledgement that this may negatively impact peoples vacations. Its as if everyone tried to sweep it under the rug. That's the part I have the biggest issue with. It has caused me to lose faith in Carnival. Sadly, my 5 previous cruises were great, but this last cruise will most likely be my last with Carnival. Read Less

I will book on carnival again, but not on fantasy class ship. no how no way!! Read Less

Safe to say after this I will never be on a Carnival Cruise again! Never, ever! Went on this cruise for my honeymoon + my husband and I were both highly disappointed. Disappointed is the understatement of the century. Would have been better off flushing our money down the toilet. Negatives: • Horrible food. Imagine Golden Corral gone terribly wrong, after an apocalypse. • Buffet was disgusting. The few other places to eat were closed at really strange times. Felt like we could never get food when we were hungry. Only things that were open 24 hours were the pizza bar (which served burnt pizza that’s taste reminded me of my elementary school cafeteria pizza) and the soft serve bar. The soft serve bar is not “soft serve” at all. It was more like ice with vanilla or chocolate flavoring which you could accompany with tiny little sugar cones. No toppings or anything. • Absolutely nothing to do on this cruise ship... aside from maybe Bingo? If you’re into that. The casino is small and as soon as you swipe your sign & sail card there is a $10 charge that gives you five credits. One mini golf course and one tiny ping pong table on the deck. Also an arcade, but that adds up fast. There’s is the occasional trivia. I never thought I could be bored on a cruise. I was wrong. (Remember, you’re sharing all these things with almost 3,000 other passengers) • There is one tiny pool for almost 3,000 passengers and two hot tubs. There is the Serenity Deck that seats maybe 35 people max, which fills up by 9:30 every morning. On the Serenity Deck, there are also only 2 hot tubs which stay completely full. • We bought the drink package but we were unable to get our moneys worth, or even close to it due to the VERY poor service. It took a MINIMUM of 15 minutes for any bartender to even notice us to take our drink order and another 10 for them to make the drinks. So by the time you’re able to get two drinks, an hour has passed. Service was absolutely terrible at all of the bars. • Decor is SO outdated, but that is minor. • Princess Cays — 1) the beach was TINY with lounge chairs packed shoulder to shoulder so you were unable to even enjoy the beach. Couldn’t take a nice walk or anything due to them crowding so many people on this island. But what could I expect considering this was also the theme on the cruise ship? 2) Carnival owns this island. You use your Sign & Sail Card at the bar, which is tended by Carnival employees. Your drinks are charged to your room, like all other purchases made on the ship. The automatic 15% gratuity still applies at this bar. But get this... your drink package does not apply on the island. My husband and I’s drink packages cost over $600 and you’re telling me that they don’t apply on the CARNIVAL OWNED island? Such a scam. I was disgusted. Spent an hour and a halfback here and went back on board. • One elevator was broken during the cruise, so only three by the state rooms were available for use. We couldn’t catch an elevator for the life of us. Had to take the stairs everywhere we went. This was not fun. • Waiters can’t take your drink orders during meals. They have to go get the “bar waiter” to take your drink order. Sat down for brunch and asked for a Bloody Mary and water. Waiter said they would have to get a bar waiter. Half an hour later... no bar waiter. I asked again. 45 minutes later and still no bar waiter. Finished our whole meal and ended up leaving without getting a drink. (Wow! What great use this drink package is getting, right?) • Music by the pool is deafening at all times. You’re not able to relax at all. I never want to hear another steel drum for as long as I live. • Carnival screams the word “fun” at you 24/7. The irony is that I couldn’t find one fun thing about this cruise. I think they say it so that maybe you will convince yourself that you’re having fun. Nope. • Nassau - not tax free shopping. Actually, 12% tax! Felt very unsafe here. Locals barading you at every stop to get a taxi or buy some Cuban cigars. Due to this we were unable to even walk down the street or shop. Finally escaped to a restaurant for a meal and drink. Got charged $40 for a large drink that didn’t have a drop of alcohol in it. Spent a total of two hours here. • Shopping on board was bad. There’s a jewelry store and another little store to buy knick knacks, flip flops, sunscreen ($15+), etc. Positives: • Smooth and quick embarkation and debarkation process. • The man who cleaned our room was wonderful and knew us by name. He made a point to say hello in the hallway every time when we walked by! • Guy’s Burger Joint was delicious. Only edible food on this cruise. But who can eat a burger and fries for 5 days straight? Moral of the story: please, please, please save your money. Do anything other than go on this cruise. Highly recommend Royal Caribbean! Only reason we cruised with Carnival was because we got married in Charleston and this is the only ship that leaves from this port. We were relieved to be LEAVING our vacation... something you should never feel. Read Less

Our cruise left out of Charleston and I was traveling with my daughter and two other friends. My daughter and I had a ocean view cabin #R188. *If you are able to still cancel your booking, do so! This ship is extremely dated with rust and actual holes showing. There is a terrible sewage smell continuously and not all the elevators work and the ones that do, are questionable. I am so happy I physically could take the stairs. There are No Refrigerators in cabins and there is only one outlet. No power strips are allowed, they took my friends out of her suitcase. We arrived onto the ship at 1:30pm and went to our cabin. We found towels from the previous guest in the closet and the counters and drawers had not been cleaned. Our room steward came and cleaned right away. *In the dining room one evening we were told no substitutes are allowed. My friend asked for rice instead of potatoes and she was told no, the meals are already made. That came from the waiter, Clifford. I have cruised on over 7 cruise lines including Carnival and have never been told I can not change or add to my order. *The private Island was lovely, the best part of the trip. *Entertainment was good. Comedians were ok. The piano bar is really not a bar. We sat for 30 minutes and no waiters came to take our order. Read Less

Food was absolutely horrible. So bad, in fact, that for the first time ever, I actually LOST weight on vacation. Every night in the dining room they offered a chilled soup. First night- Lychee soup. Tasted like melted ice cream. Second night- strawberry mint soup... tasted exactly like melted strawberry milkshake from McDonald’s. Third night- peach and mint soup- tasted just like... can you guess? Chick-Fil-A peach milkshake. Lol. Kids were bored. Oh- and the candy shop was right between the club and casino so when we took the kids to get candy we had to walk thru clouds of cigarette smoke! Ugh.. Seriously- don’t take this ship. Ever. Carnival Ecstasy is overrated... Pool area is super small. Unless you get out early and reserve a lounge chair with your towel, you won't get a spot near the pool. Serenity Adult only area is pretty small as well. Hard to get a longer chair there, too. Drinks were abundantly available and flowing on day 1. After that, don't rely on anyone coming around for your drink order. You will wait in LONG lines to get your drink. Food was not great. Repetative menu. Buffett area was so hot, we were sweating while trying to eat. Main dining was okay. NOTHING spectacular in any food location! Room service menu also disappointing. You CANNOT use your Cheers! drink card when ordering room service. So much for enjoying that cocktail in your room. VIP Luxury Sailing Shore excursion was a FLOP! Snorkling gear fell off of boat while traveling to reef site. Spent over an hour trying to locate gear. Finally gave up looking and we were told we could swim instead. Then we went to elevator to find our dining room and some of the elevators were not working. In front of elevator were leaks in ceiling what were not repaired the whole trip. Nasty dirty buckets of water in front of the Buffett room. To my surprise the Dining room was on other end of ship. I did not go for 2 days day since I have trouble walking and no one offered an assistance when I told them this the first day. On the day we were going on shore I ordered room service what never arrived. This is when I complained we received many apologies. The next day I gave the dining room another try to sit there for 1 hr. NO drinks NO food so I was so mad I left. The pool was so over crowded you never could use it. Also for such a kid friendly boat there are 2 Alcohol bars with all the kids around pool but no bar where kids could get drinks besides alcohol . The first day the water slides were broken and the hot tubs had to be repaired twice also. My daughter asked for a wheelchair for me the day we exited the boat. To top it off on the day we were getting of board the security guard would not let me leave the ship said I have to go upstairs to see Customs: customs ask me why they sent me he didn’t call for me. I had to walk back down stairs because the lady left me alone with the wheelchair and told me she would come back and never did. I to the Exit again and was sent back upstairs to customs after I told them that’s where I just came from. This was to be a fun trip with my Family since I have health issues I wanted to have a good last time with my Family. Read Less

Not my first cruise, so I expected of few things to not be perfect. This ship should be retired! We had an extended balcony suite, so size was great, but bathroom was being held together with a poor caulk job. Curtains were torn and overall appearance was worn out. Rust stains on ceiling above bed were gross. Ship hasn’t been updated in a very long time. I heard a passenger say it looked retro, I didn’t have he heart to tell them it was just old. Every bar and restaurant had long lines and was understaffed. With our suite came “priority” seating was was great until we were seated in the middle of the dining room in a cleaning area. Food was good, better than expected, but only because everything else was as so poor. Kids area seemed dirty. I would let my kids go with their age groups because it seems like a poorly managed operation. The music being played in the pool was a bit too adult for my 8 and 12 year old which wasn’t a problem most of the time because the pool is so small we never stood a chance of getting in it during normal hours. At every turn there were empty cocktail glasses and food plates in the halls, again understaffed to handle everything. What crew we did see working always smiled and seemed nice, hey just couldn’t keep up demand. I’ll never travel on his ship again and will think long and hard about Carnival. The convenience of the port in Charleston doesn’t make up for the crappy cruise. Don’t waste your time and money! Read Less

I was told by family and friends that cruising is very enjoyable and relaxing experience. So I gave it a try for the first time on the Carnival Ecstasy. I am driving home now and want to share my experience to keep others from wasting their money. When I got off the ship today I felt like I had been released from a jail cell. This was the most stressful, nerve racking and unrelaxing vacation I have ever taken. The first day I was sprayed with mayonnaise at the hamburger restaurant after waiting in a long line to get a mediocare burger. Then had to wait in another long line to get a hot soft drink. After lunch the tinyest cabin ever was supposedly ready. The cabin was hot, humid and smelled like mold and mildew. The shower had mildew all around the edges and the bathroom just stunk! That night I tried to sleep in the hot humid cabin in a bunk style bed but hit my head every time I tried to roll over on a ledge about 6 inches from my face. The next day we waited in yet another long line for an elevator to go to the only pool to find no available chairs and the tiniest pool ever. The pool was so crowded you could not even move. I again had to wait in line to get a hot soft drink at the bar from a bartender who only wanted to serve alcohol purchasing guests who left big tips. The rest of the week was even worse than the first day. I spent most of the time waiting in line for an elevator, waiting in line for horrible buffet food, or hot soft drinks. The last straw was one night about 11pm the cabin toilet starting shooting out water all over the floor that contained green algae looking stuff. I called the room steward but could reach no one. I then called guest services but got a recording about extremely high call volume. I put the phone down but stayed on the line and ran all the way down the hall to the other end of the ship to find an employee to help me. I did finally find one and he called housekeeping. By this time the cabin carpet was all wet. Housekeeping came to clean up the mess. After an hour holding on the phone for guest services I hung up and explained to the housekeeping supervisor that I could not reach anyone by phone to help me and I am extremely upset. By this time it was midnight and they were trying to get all the water out of the cabin carpet. The supervisor tried contacting guest services on the cabin phone again and got the recorded message too. She held for awhile then decided to call room service to get a person to answer the phone. The supervisor told me guest services would call me. Which they did and I requested to move to another cabin. I could not take this filthy stinking wet humid cabin any longer. Guest services said there were no other cabins available so I hung up. The housekeeping supervisor offered to shampoo the cabin carpet the next morning meanwhile we had to sleep in that nasty room. I have never been so disappointed in the customer service I received on this ship and feel the health, safety and convenience of my family was completely disregarded. I not only wasted over $2000 on this trip but a week of hard earned vacation time. To top off this experience the last morning I went to wash my face in the cabin bathroom and the water from the sink was brown! They did credit my account $120 for the inconvenience??? I need a vacation!!! Read Less

we wanted to go somewhere closer to home so we went to Charleston, SC, Ecstasty cruise. Went well, our waiter Allen was hilarious he was the best, person that cleans our room was very generous!! But other than that choose a different cruise, absolutely horrible!!!! They take money out of your account and make up excuses of why they took it and can’t give it back. NEVER GO ON THIS CRUISE HORRIBLE!!!! we paid $1600 for our room, the food was good, but the menu for the room service horrible all they have is sandwiches for free and if you want anything else you have to pay for it. The water that’s in your room that’s only suppose to cost $3 they charged us $8 and took out another $150 for cleaning service. Like where did the $1600 go into just our room, stupid cruise. And to beat it all this was mine and my husbands first cruise. Read Less

My family chose this cruise for Spring Break, mainly because it was very convenient being that we left out of Charleston. Worst ,mistake ever! the food was terrible. We ordered room service every night because that was the only hot, fresh food that they had. Buffet was nasty! Meat still had blood running out of it! Also, no food for kids. The workers at many of the bars were VERY rude. While waiting to place an order, no one offers to help, and when you finally get their attention, they act like they hate their job. Rude! "Fun day at sea," HUGE WASTE when over half the cruise consists. This was my first cruise and it totally ruined me wanting to go to another. The music was pretty good, the areas were always kept clean as well. Just the people and the food, I would not recommend this chip at all! Read Less

Embarkation was fast and easy and from there it went downhill. The Ocean was so rough that if was very difficult walking and we could not dock in Nassau for safety reasons. I realize that Carnival had no control over the weather and we just made the best of it. But as seniors taking our first cruise to celebrate our 50th anniversary we were not prepared for the deafening noise aboard this ship. The only place we would go to talk or read was to our cabin. The so called country singer performing in the atrium daily was awful. Everyone told us that we would love the food. The quality of food on the buffet was like eating at a Golden Coral. The dining room food was better but nothing was ever hot. The desserts were good. The staff for the most part were wonderful especially our cabin steward Pilan. They allowed smoking in several areas of the ship and unfortunately also held trivia games near those areas. Our group had to leave as the smell was overpowering. I heard many people complaining about this cruise saying things like "cruise from hell" and "never again". Disembarkation was smooth and quick. It was an experience for us, one not likely to be repeated. For the price we paid we could have gone to an all inclusive Mexican resort for 2 weeks and not had to worry about how much extra money we were adding to our sail and sign card everytime we had a speciality coffee or alcoholic drink. We won't be cruising again, especially on Carnival. Read Less

This was our third sailing with Carnival, and our last. This ship is old, and needs a complete face lift. Paint was pealing all over the deck. The food was mediocre. The breakfast buffet was the same everyday, as was the lunch buffet. We were drinking what we thought was iced tea, only to see one of the staff pour in a container that said "iced tea flavoring mix"..... The buffet felt more like a mess hall in the military. Plastic platters, short little yellow and green cups, silverware wrapped in old faded napkins. The only night we had dinner in the dining room, it was very rushed. We sat down, were given our menus and literally a minute later the waiter asked if we were ready to order. We said we needed a few more minutes, he did a heavy sigh and walked away. After we did order, the food came out fast. It was not a great experience. Guy's Burger Joint was about the best food on the cruise! The Comedy shows were great, just wish they were a bit longer. The staff was personable and helpful. Our stateroom was average. It was in need of paint and refurbishing. There is not a way to adjust the temperature in the room, so we had cold air blowing on us all night. Our room steward was exceptional! There needs to be a larger adult only area. The weather was not great on our cruise, but the one day it was warm and you could swim and catch some sun, the pool was filled with kids... the hot tubs were filled with kids. Had the same problem on my other two Carnival Cruises. Embarkation and Debarkation was smooth and stress free. Read Less

I would never recommend this cruise or Carnival as a company. We went on a cruise for our honeymoon and paid around $1100 for an upgraded jr. suit. First of all, this ship looks like it came straight out of a 1980's strip club. Everything is old, purple and doesn't look like it has ever been updated. The food was mediocre, the entertainment was mediocre and the offshore activities were nothing to brag about. But honestly that's not my main issue with this cruise, had those been the only issues I wouldn't have written a review at all. I would have dealt with my sub-par cruise experience, but the way they handled our reservation and our experience with their customer service staff was so horrendous that I feel the need to actively recommend people to stay away from them and take their money elsewhere. When asking about the upgrade options I specifically wanted a room with a tub and the booking agent told me the junior suite and king suite both featured a jacuzzi tub, the junior was just a smaller square footage. We booked this trip months in advance. Immediately when we got to our room I noticed that the room did not have a tub at all, but a small shower. So we went straight to the customer service desk on the ship and asked to be moved to another room with a tub or to get a refund, because what we were told we were paying for was not what we got at all. They told us they could not help us, because no rooms on the ship have jacuzzi tubs and no other suites were available. We were told that they would put in a complaint form and someone would get back to us. After 2 days of no one getting back to us we went back to the desk and they told us to call carnival ourselves. We called carnival and spent almost 2 hours of our day, which I would have much rather spent enjoying my cruise on hold waiting to speak with someone about the issue only to be told there was nothing they could do for us. We then called the booking agent, but did not get ahold of him until after we got off the cruise. He admitted that it was his fault. He told us the system must not be correct and it is their error that we were told our room would have a tub when it did not, but that we would not be able to get a refund, because we needed to request one on the first day of the cruise. Even though we had been dealing with this since the first hour on our cruise and had requested a refund right away. We were eventually elevated to some kind of manager who was incredibly rude and absolutely no help. They took zero responsibility for what was obviously their error and were out over $1000 on an upgrade that I would not have purchased had I know what was actually featured in the room. Our room was barely better than a regular cabin, the only difference was that it featured a couch and a couple extra sq. ft. I would have rather not paid more than $1k for. We were only offered 10% off a future cruise for something that was completely their fault that we had tried to fix since the first day on the cruise. I would have gladly stayed in a regular cabin for the duration of my cruise and taken a refund, but I was told that was not an option and that was then used against me as further excuse not to give me a refund after my stay ended. I am so angry about the way this was handled, it was dishonest and nothing was done to apologize for or repair the fact that we were lied to in order to get a lot of money from us. Take your money to another cruise line who is honest and cares about their customers, because it is not Carnival. Read Less
