Not the good old days but OK

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Liberty of the Seas

Went on the 9 day Eastern Caribean cruise to Bermuda, Labadee, La Romana and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. While the cruise was nice and we had good weather, there lacks the specialness of pre-pandemic cruising. Still had a good time but things could be better. Pluses: We had a balcony which is always the best way to go if you can afford it Crew was always friendly with a ...

WORST TRIP EVER

I was very unhappy with this cruise ship the moment I stepped on the ship. The ship is outdated. The carpet is very old and the towels and sheets are stained. When I notify the gentlemen that was taking care of my cabin, he stated that they was having trouble with their washing machine, On the first day I order the same cocktail 3 times. Each time I order the cocktail, I was charged a different ...

Classic RC "Spring Break" cruise

Since I usually cruise in off-peak season, inlcluding a similar RC cruise just 2 months ago, it was easy for me to see how every aspect of the cruise was affected by the Spring Break passenger base - loads of college kids and families with children. I imagine these effects would be reduced on longer sailings, so I'll definitely keep that in mind next year. Cabin was clean and in good repair, ...

Great Cruise, Just Not Long Enough!

We chose this particular cruise mainly because everyone in our group of 8 was able to get the time off to go. Our reason for going was for an early celebration of our dad's upcoming 90th birthday. Our group consisted of my wife and I, my brother, my dad, my youngest son and his wife and my daughter and her husband. Oldest in the group was 89; youngest was 33. Three of us have cruised on ...

After hearing how “great” Royal cruises are we decided to give it a try. Well, it was the worst experience we’ve ever had! Very unorganized and severely lacked efficiencies (took us 30+ mins to check our kids into the kid camp they have, anytime dinning was a big mess even with a reservation each night), when asking an employee a question it was evident you were bothering them or they just walked ...

The Key Program & Staff

First off, knowing it's an older ship, but the ports I wanted to go to and living at Port Everglades makes it easy to go back on this ship. Went Thanksgiving time and 1/23, in the end enjoyed both cruises but clearly not the same Royal. Staff, most asked basically knew nothing about "The Key" . The welcome lunch when finally finding out where to go, was like eating in the sauna in the main ...

I have been an avid cruiser for my entire adult life. Before this trip I was on 29 previous sailings over many years, all of them with Royal Caribbean. I have been on the old Sovereign class ships, Vision class, Radiance class, Voyager class, and of course the Freedom class. Due to financial changes in my life, before this sailing I had not been on a cruise for 12 years. A lot has changed, ...

Solid trip for first time cruisers with toddler

We were a couple with a young kid (18 months) and traveled with BIL’s family. We chose this cruise because we wanted our toddler to have access to some pools (there’s a small baby splash zone onboard that allows swim diapers) and BIL’s family wanted some of the fun amenities on royal ships. Day 1 Embarkation was smooth. We happened to arrive earlier than our set time but they took us anyway ...

Perfect winter escape

As a group of friends we always try to book a January vacation and this did not disappoint, we were VERY lucky with the weather which added to the enjoyment. I had read reviews stating that Liberty was showing her ‘age’ which I found bizarre as she’s really not that old at all! Sure enough we saw nothing that indicated any lack of attention or repair - except the large screen poolside which ...

Liberty Christmas Cruise

This was my first time on the Liberty. I've done both larger and smaller ships and the size was ok, however there are clearly a lot of improvements needed on this ship. First of all, it was so nice to see everything decorated for the holidays, however the CONSTANT Christmas music, EVEN in the spa was a bit much. There was no escaping it, except for pool side. The Solarium even had it playing ...
