The Great Outdoors. Has a nice size bar and buffet. Best of all, it's own soft-serve ice machine.

Just returned from the Norwegian Gem Cruise to Orlando/Great Stirrup Cay/Nassau: 7/28-8/4. I will try to be as detailed as possible in order to help you all know what to expect on board. Embarkation Review: -Initial process was more smooth than I experienced on Carnival. However, it wasn't without its issues. We had a loud staff member yelling in an annoyed tone: "Have your passports ...

We spent 3 days in NYC beforehand exploring the city before boarding the Bahamas bound ship. As a father-daughter trip (11 yrs old) we had a great time! Boarding was smooth and we got our cabin right on time. The ship is older but well maintained, cabin small but clean and what we expected for an inside cabin. We dined in the main draining area all nights. Food was overall good, some ...

I originally chose this cruise because it was the only cruise out of NY that went to the Bahamas during the time period I was looking for. I was hesitant to cruise from NY to the Bahamas, as I worried about rough waters. The entire cruise was smooth sailing! We were on the ship by noon on embarkment day and eating at O'Sheehan's soon after. The staff throughout the ship were friendly and helpful. ...

This was our fourth time on the same cruise on NCL Gem. We chose it again because we love the ship and it is just the right size. Living in CT, leaving from NYC is so convenient. We drove from Stratford, CT to Pier 88 and parked a few blocks away. We got to the pier early, at about 9:30a and were through security and check in by about 10am. Boarding started shortly after 11a and it was the ...

The buffet was horrible food had no taste no seasonings and juice only during breakfast whatt CRAZY so lunch ...

I chose this cruise line for my first cruising experience. Needless to say I wasn’t aware of some of the things I should expect from cruising. In retrospect, I would not cruise out of NY again as I felt as if it took forever to get to our destination. In total we spent 3-4 days at sea, which to me was not worth the money. I didn’t find that there were enough activities for tweens on this ship. ...

Good Food, Good Drinnk, Lacking in Activity

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Gem

Gem has a good reputation for food, I had a 12 yr old and the kids club dropped the ball huge. They even rescheduled a time I left an activity to go to the outdoor court only to find out there had been a schedule adjustment. Leaving the ship was totally unacceptable and not the impression you want a paying customer to as the last impression. The cabin service was excellent. The food ...
