Great ship with hard working employees. Good lord it was like a 6 day cruise and one day waiting on the elevators. Even on non prime time it seemed all of the bank of 4 elevators were all on the same floor, not mine!. This was unexpected since the ship isn't new. Food when items were good they were great, but when poor they shouldn't have been served at all. Just awful. Cabin and steward perfect as well as the wait staff. Casino staff under trained and they tried to under pay me twice. And they could care less. These are the things that stuck with me. Getting on and off a piece of cake. Entertainment was average. No shore excursions.but ship docked close to ports, not a long walk Lots to do on board ,ocean view cafe again was hit and miss. Great pizza and ice cream choices. They have no clue how to cook hamburgers or omelettes. Read Less

A wonderful 3 day Bahamas cruise from Port Miami in an S1 aft sky suite. I have traveled on Celebrity previously but this was my first time on the Equinox and I instantly fell in love. I booked this cruise for myself and my Mother. We arrived at the port at 10:20am and we were through priority check in and on the ship at 10:45am. Greeted with smiles and champagne we then proceeded to take a tour of the ship while all was still somewhat quiet. I liked the decor of the ship as it wasn’t too over the top, and I found it very easy to navigate. After a quick top to bottom tour we stopped in to introduce ourselves at Michaels Club, there we met the concierge John Escobar who was very pleasant and showed us around and answered any questions we had. We enjoyed Michaels and visited several times during the cruise for a late afternoon snack and especially to stock up on bottles of Evian for our suite. Around 1pm we we decided it was lunch time and headed down to Luminae, we were greeted by Viktoria the most pleasant hostess you will ever meet, she showed us to our table and it was here we met Kirk who was our waiter for all our Luminae meals. Kirk was fabulous and a huge asset to Luminae in the few short days we were there he discovered what we liked and every meal was perfect. We enjoyed the food as well as the presentation and on 2 occasions ordered items off the MDR menu. My favorites were the filet mignon, cooked perfectly, and the artichoke soup....delicious! I was though disappointed in the desserts really nothing exceptional. After lunch we headed up to our suite 8345 a very long walk to the aft but we loved the walking especially after indulging everyday. The suite is the perfect size and the use of space is great, I loved having the large side porthole in addition to the sliders as there was so much light in the room. We had the room arranged as two single beds and yes the pole is ever present! The amount of storage is plentiful as well as the storage space in the bathroom as well. The bathroom was a nice size with a full tub/shower combo and Bvlgari amenities. The cabin is nicely decorated but I feel it needed a bit of modernization perhaps a little bling, it was a little flat. It was though very clean and well kept. The veranda makes up for anything that could be wrong, beautiful, spacious, and exactly what you expect in an aft cabin. Loved it! Now on to the butler..... ours was a big disappointment, shortly after we arrived he stopped by to give us his card and said please call if you need anything. He never offered to show us around the suite or explain anything as I’ve had done in the past. I did make arrangements for morning coffee delivery for our port day which he did take care of and that was it we never saw or heard from him ever again. Now our room steward Louis should have been the butler, he was exceptional he took such good care of us, bringing us ice (butler duty) and anytime he saw us coming down the hall running ahead to open the door, everyday he made sure the towels were placed on the outside veranda chairs in the morning after breakfast. Hummmm can you guess who got the tip on the last day. We really enjoyed everything about the ship. We didn’t attend any shows so I can’t comment on those. We visited the casino, shopped a little and attended the wonderful Corning glass show. We ate a lot and walked a lot! In addition to Luminae we had burgers at the Mast Grill, love those fries! And ordered room service for lunch, ehhh just average food not impressed, delivered in 30 minutes. Cafe al Bacio is heaven, we visited many times. Also visited the future cruise desk, that always makes me happy! Disembarkation was a breeze, went down to breakfast in Luminae at 7:45am, walked off the ship around 8:45am though customs and in my car at 9:10am! In addition to booking this cruise to give my Mother a little getaway it was a test cruise to see if I would like the sky suite aft for a future 9 day cruise I have booked in October with boyfriend. It passed the test!! Read Less

I selected this short 3-day cruise as an intro to cruising for my 15 and 13 yr old granddaughters. This was perfect. They both were a bit hesitant about it, but left declaring firmly they were ready for a 7-day cruise! The mix of activities on board was good for them and their mother and me. We all enjoyed the shows each night. Our only regret is that we did not do the Silent Disco. I am both gluten-free and dairy-free. There was an abundance of options for me in both the dining room and the Ocean View cafe. Also, the coffee shop (Cafe al Bacio) could prepare any coffee with either almond milk, soy milk, or lactose free milk. They also had gluten-free cookies every day. The buffet had gluten-free breads (Canyon Bakehouse), but no dairy-free (vegan) "butter". The check-in procedure was very smooth and quick. From parking in the garage to being on board was less than 30 minutes. The food in the Ocean View cafe was wonderful in the selection and quality. The food and service in the Main Dining Room was really good. They were nervous about sharing a table with others, but it was just the 4 of us and they enjoyed that. Our waiter was very patient with them and helped them select their meals. The disembarkation process was very smooth. Our group was called right on the time listed in the information sheet. We exited, quickly claimed our luggage (an airport-style carousel with staff who will let you know which carousel to check), quickly cleared customs and were on the way to the parking garage with about 15 minutes elapsed! My only complaint is there are NO signs in the parking garage to direct you to the exit. Several of us circled for a while, hitting dead ends, before finally finding the right way. Read Less

Last minute cruise. Usually cruise on Royal. Equinox was wonderful. Crew was helpful and friendly. Food was amazing, best ever. Smaller ship that we're use too but our room was tremendous. Loved the cabin steward. Snorkel excursion through Daddy's Girl excursions. Do not use this company. Unsafe and dangerous. Took us to a snorkeling spot where you snorkeled at your own risk. Didn't watch any of the guests in the water. Antagonized a barracuda with a small fish he caught. Spoke with the excursion's manager and I did get my money credited. All and all it was a great get away with my husband. Celebrity gave us a great week and would definitely sail again on the Equinox. On an important note, remember to treat the crew the way you'd want to be treated. Crew couldn't have been nicer. I witnessed some of the guest treating the crew so rudely, I felt necessary to say something. Read Less

Like S class ships. 2 adults this time in 1A Verandah. Found Main Dining room food blah, unusual choices and not quality like past Celebrity cruises. Wait staff was mostly not real concerned about cold or poor quality food in MDR. Buffet was better and much more variety. Maitre D on level 3 (young man with dark hair) was really not pleasant or helpful. Many witnessed his surly behavior to most everyone. I hate writing this but I feel quality is hit or miss now on this ship and I hope not the new standard. Dave in Photo Gallery was STELLAR! GREAT shots and variety. Unlike others who had 3 or 4 same old poses. We are not big show people but comedian was good. LOVED silent Disco and Full Moon Party. Smoking should be more standard locations. Pick a side so everyone knows how to avoid it should they be bothered or allergic to it. The way it is now on multiple sides on a few decks make it hard to not walk thru it or have it blow to others. Cigars not at all. Too few can handle those. SMELLY Casino has a slot tourney. Usually all money taken in or most of it is given as prizes to those players. Not this one. Alot less than half went to players?? Same in Bingo. I understand ALOT went to a big rolling pot but the % of those on that sailing who won was smal for # of players and cards purchased. What has changed? Been on most cruise lines a time or two. Celebrity was our go to line. Not so sure after the last 2. Read Less

This was our 5th Celebrity cruise. Sailed Jan 6th-10th out of Miami on Equinox 4 night cruise to Cozumel. Trip to Miami: The drive from Daytona south was not to bad until we got closer until around 30 miles out it was bumper to bumper. Entering the port was insane. Having never been there we really didn't have a clue where to go. Signs were not the best. There were 6 ships in port which made it a nightmare. Finally we parked in the ramp and hauled our luggage across the road to the porter by the ship. We couldn't drop it off next to ship because between all the people arriving and leaving the port plus all the cab drivers it was impossible. Miami will be our last choice as far as ports to cruise from. Plus a modest $22 a day to park. It is a safe place to park. Leaving the port was fine. Overall Cruise: We had a nice time don't get me wrong. We make the best of everything. Its the fellow cruisers that make a cruise. I’m not complaining in this review just stating some of the issues we had. Overall this cruise was just o.k. It is very evident Celebrity has made cutbacks not only in food but lack of staff everywhere. I wrote a review after my January and April 2017 cruises on Silly and Constellation experiencing the same issues. I was hoping that things would improve on this cruise but they seem to not be any better. Embarkation and Disembarkation: Embarkation and disembarkation went very smooth. Hardly a wait at all. Bar Service: Celebrity really needs to look at the “LACK OF STAFF” at The Martini Bar during peak hours. Such as prior to dinner and after a show lets out. It was every single day the same lack of staff. People left disgruntled after the inability to get a drink. I’m not saying add 5 bartenders just add 1 or 2 during peak hours. Why does celebrity offer the drink packages then are constantly understaffed at the bars? It is not because the bartenders are not working hard. They bust there butts everyday. Never ever a complaint by us on effort of the staff. You expect a pleasant experience at the Martini Bar and any of the bars onboard with not being stressed out trying to beat the next fellow cruiser to get the bartenders attention. The bartenders in Ensemble Bar were rude and seemed like they were going through the motions. There was a tall lady and a male bartender. Did not get names. We went the first day and never went back. They did not make eye contact and just were not pleasant. Pool Bar again understaffed. We are patient people but having to wait continually for beverages was aggravating. I understand we are not the only ones on the ship and have no problem waiting. But to see the looks on fellow cruisers faces having to wait with a look like you gotta be kidding me. Food: First night we went to Muranos. I had cooked by table lobster and my DH had lamb chops. Both dinners were very good. Everything was good except for an extremely loud group of (8) German people who ruined the ambiance of the evening. Celebrity should have the large table off to one side so the table is not in the middle. You would still hear them but may not be as loud. Maybe the waitress or Murano head should have politely asked them to tone it down. Was it worth $50 pp ? not really. Buffet had a-lot of choices and all food was good. Tables were promptly cleaned off. Thought all was good there. MDR: Cutbacks are evident here as well. Although choices are limited, on one night we just couldn't find one thing that was appealing so went to the buffet instead. Not a big deal. The french onion soup and 4 shrimp cocktail were always good. One night in the MDR we sat at a table for 8. Sat for 20 minutes before waiter came over, they sat people all around us but not at our table. The waiter said he was on other side of MDR and no one told him we were there. Although they did remember our 10th Anniversary with a nice cake and sang Happy Anniversary which was very thoughtful. Casino: Nice because there is no smoking. Slots were kind of generous to us. Bar service slow. Excursions: We didnt get off the ship. Enjoyed the pool area. Pool was ice cold and very few people used it. Entertainment: All was ok. Liked the house band. Rocked out at FULL MOON PARTY. Musicals in theatre were fine. Silent Disco was great as usual. Staff: Most were very pleasant and always said Hi. Although some just walked by without saying anything. Again Ensemble Lounge bar staff were the worst. Room 6263: This was a 2C semi obstructed balcony room. The view was not bad. You couldn't see directly down but could see straight out which was fine. My concern booking this room was the possibility of smoke from smokers in the smoking area from Deck 5. We were pleasantly surprised we did not experience any drifting smoke. Room was ok. Except for the one issue below. Enough storage for everything. Room Steward: Came right away when we got there to introduce himself. Always said Hi in the hall. Found bathroom drawers were dirty with someones disgusting hair. My wife had to clean out.UGH! Again just average.. Summary: We are not complainers and are easy going people. Even though this review doesn't seem like it. Im just not sure why there was no WOW factor. Was the service not upto Celebrity standards just because it was a 4 nighter? Shouldn't matter right? It was by far not the best cruise we have been on but just average. A cruise is what you make it we are always glass half full people. But we were kind of let down by the lack of staff and the cutbacks. Read Less

Travel Dates: January 6-10 Departure Port: Miami Ports visited: Cozumel Cabin: 8317 - Verandah We traveled on the day of embarkation from Orlando to Miami. It's about a 3.5 hour drive and no traffic on a Saturday morning. We got to the port at around 1pm. The ship was docked at terminal G. Parked at the garage ($22 per night) right across from the terminal. Not bad since we were splitting it by 3 couples. A big group got in line right before us but everyone was in such good moods that it made the 5 minute wait easy. Up the escalator and we were directed to the Aqua Class queue because that was the shortest line. Got our Sea Passes, filled out our health questionnaires and we were ready to board the ship. The welcome glass of champagne was a great touch and we then walked toward the bars on deck 5. The announcement was made that all cabins were ready. We decided to have a drink at the World Class Bar but they didn't open until 5. So on to the Martini bar. I got a Pear martini which was delicious but very strong. Our bags had not made it to our cabin yet so we decided to go have lunch in the Oceanview Cafe. Purell was squirted into every guests hands upon arrival. This happened at every meal both here and in the main dining room. Lunch was good but since we didn't have time to relax yet, our choices had no rhyme nor reason. Our cabin was wonderful with plenty of storage. We unpacked and asked the cabin steward to separate our beds as I was traveling with my daughter. We also asked him to open the balcony partition between us and 8319, one of the couples we were traveling with. We unpacked, and went to our safety meeting. The video is way too long to keep any one's attention and we were in Michael's which was packed with guests. The crew members did their best to demonstrate how to put on a life vest but you could not see them due to the crowd and set up of the room. On to a rainy sailaway which was poorly attended so we had a drink at the Mast Bar. We hung out there until some smokers sat down so we moved on. Rather than give you a blow by blow of our daily routine, here are the highlights by category: Dining: We ate in the dining room every night at 6. Starters were the highlight of every night and we all got 2 each. Main courses were good, not great. Chic night menu was the same as every other night. After some delay in getting wine the first night, we had the wine waiting for us on our table every night after that. We had breakfast in the main dining room one morning, in the Aqua cafe a few mornings, and the Oceanview cafe as well. Breakfast was delicious every day. My favorite stop several times a day is the Cafe al Bacio. This was our morning meeting spot and afternoon treat as well. Bars: The pool bars got most of our business as we were blessed with nice weather most of the trip. I do think we hit them all...multiple times. We all stuck to our usual drinks with nothing fancy. Ship: Immaculate, well layed out and easy to find our friends without walkie talkies, notes or messages. We all had pretty much the same routine be it the gym, walking, pool, reading, drinking, casino, etc. We never saw dirty dishes or glasses left on tables. The officers and crew were very nice and professional. Service and the condition of this ship is why we would return for sure. Excursion: We did the Salsa, Salsa and Margaritas excursion. It was a lot of fun and we actually made some very tasty margaritas which we have repeated once we got home. While we appreciate audience participation, there was one repeat attendee who was leading a group from another ship. He was very enthusiastic and to be honest...annoying. I don't need someone tell me to tip, buy swag, etc. He found the mic a few times and we lost interest. We left before the salsa dancing started. We shopped a little around the port and went back on the ship. Entertainment and Activities: The silent disco was a lot of fun. We would do that again for sure. We watched the Officer and guest pool volley ball game and did some line dancing by the pool. The casino benefited from our night there. I appreciate the no smoking policy there. We went to one show but the ship was rocking and we decided that nothing was worth feeling ill. I wish there was more music geared to a younger crowd. Our group spanned in age from 34-62. We spent time up on the lawn, in the gym. We didn't shop much and I wish there was a shop carrying trinket type souvenirs. I would not take children on this ship as there is not much to do besides the pool which was quite cold at all times. We would definitely go on this ship again. 4 nights is not enough but was all we had. Celebrity is a class act. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the price and we wanted to try Celebrity to see what it would be like before we spent money for a big group. We were not disappointed. Everything was very good food, entertainment and bar service. Staff was very personable and helpful. The only thing I could say would be that the activities staff was so, so. I didn't think they spent much time with the activities or interact much with the vacationers. They were good when they did the stuff but I wouldn't say they were fun. I like to know the people working on the cruise. Our dining staff and bar staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Drinks were a little inconsistant but not bad. Some were much stronger then the regular drinks. LOL I would definitely do a Celebrity cruise again. It was well worth the price that we paid. Read Less

I like the size of the ship with approximately 2850 guests. It's easy to get around to multiple events and other than embarkation, the elevators are always quick. With dozens of friends aboard, we were always sure to see them during the sea days as well as at dinner. The Equinox recently refurbished and well-done décor. Only needed a longer cruise to experience all the activities. The food was always the right temperature and everything was of excellent standard from bread to desserts. Good service from Agus. Specialty dining in Murano was an intimate, delicious, incredible option, but actually the main dining room Silhouette and Ocean Café buffet do a fine preparation as well. The staff is friendly, but sometimes lacked in going that extra step as I found on other lines. At the main dining room our bartender for the table was mainly absent, and the casino bar was a bit slow in responding to walk-up orders. The Gastrobar staff seemed the friendliest, but I didn't try all the bars. The line at Mast Burgers was long for lunch, and I don't know if this would be the same on longer cruises? Since the burgers & fries were hot, I guess I can manage the wait. I had forgotten the Persian Garden Spa closed at 8pm, and note to self not to buy the spa pass next time. With activities during the day, and an early dinner + entertainment, I find I often use the spa on other cruise lines right up until the 10pm closing time. So my OBC was not well spent here. Love the concierge suites and attendent Miguel. When you book early they can be the same price as a regular balcony, so why not board early and have the extras. Our guide Juan made the "best of Cozumel" tour really, really good. Take in the beach, Mexico Park, tequila, & chocolate and then time for shopping if you must. The theatre shows and the bands delivered first rate performances. The ships' officers were always present in uniform at designated evening events and giving of polite conversation. A nice plus. Itineraries are important to me, but whenever it can coincide with Celebrity, that's my choice. Read Less
